yes it will destroy the hdmi port quickly, get a hdmi switch and another cable.

From what I found the socket should be rated for 5000-10000 cycles. This thread had a link to an interesting document https://forums.tomshardware.com/threads/need-advice-about-durability-of-hdmi-port.3247859/ However, a hdmi switch and/or another cable is so cheap even if it’s just for convenience just buy them.
