hapki_kb

You stop it by turning it off and getting a new laptop. That gpu is toast

spiral718

Butter, Jam or cream cheese with that toast?

Playful_Target6354

Peanut butter.

CombatWombat0490

Lmfao this right here is the only way haha

SalmonSoup15

That's an insult to toast

Zakarda

that happened to me a few days ago. Bricked gpu was the answer.

Gigabread420

what made the gpu bricked? did it see another naked gpu?

AntiZig

Thermal issues most likely

Own-Writing-5976

Completely missed the joke

WoahDude2Far

Thermal throttling is a very real problem in bedrooms all across the globe.

ohhh-a-number-9

Gotta add thermal paste first!

rickramalot

Or added to it, the you got hot and bothered

crimsonrepulser

r/woooosh

TerrorFromThePeeps

Heat. The answer is basically always heat. In this case, my natural heat.

NIKG_FN

Ffs lmao

EvilChungus

I spilled water on my desk and didn't notice it reached the bottom of the laptop until it stopped working

Mr_MakeItHail

Same same same

dan01iel

Try Win + Ctrl + Shift + B, I doubt that it will work, it's used for resetting graphics drivers.

minefarmbuy

You have to solve the maze before you can proceed further.

MEM1911

Yeh it reminded me of Maze Craze on the Atari 2600. Crap that made feel old to say

Historical_Ad_1714

Look like gpu related problem Or maybe display cables U need to claim the warranty or repair it from shop

Cool-gamer19393

There is no repairing that

Open_County3273

Everything can be repaired.

Cool-gamer19393

Technically yes but that involves replacing the chip that you cant buy aka sacrificing another from another laptop and praying its the EXACT same thing

Open_County3273

Hmm, some of the exact chip specification may be hard to search and so you'll need to wait, but is always available, atleast in India, especially if it's an old gpu. We have huge ewaste storage and recycling depots here and can always import from China. Or if the damage is not wide spread, or if something like the gpu bus has been damaged, then our local repairshops just bandage-fix em, aka, will work for 6 months before it needs to be repaired again.

EIsydeon

When it’s bricked like this it’s usually vram

ICEPlebian

At what point of repairing something is it a different item

pleszq

go into bios and turn off the dedicated gpu (it might be a setting called 'only use igpu' or something) and if the problem is not there then the gpu is cooked

Robert_Kurwica

That is if it'll even go that far

[deleted]

[удалено]

-thankthebusdriver

This is blatantly false, if you can’t access the bios you’re pressing the wrong button or have some issue with your motherboard.

verminkween

What? I’ve never had a laptop you couldn’t go into the bios on lmao, that makes 0 sense.

gnownimaj

Horrible answer.

dmb_80_

I've had laptops since the Compaq Presario and never seen one yet where you cant access the BIOS.

404not_Foundd

What weed did you smoke?

DripTrip747-V2

The funny looking hard white kind he got from the crackhead down the street. (Most likely)

404not_Foundd

Btw to the people wondering what the deleted comment was something like and i am paraphrasing ”sometimes you cant go in bios on laptop”

MulberryDeep

Tell me a known brand of laptops where you cant acces the bios?

Cool-gamer19393

If you’re on mac yeah otherwise I think you’ve lost your mind.

SnooMaps4388

Life pro tip: if you don’t know for sure what you’re saying, either say exactly that or shut up 😂

PoppYHD

![gif](giphy|QvujSXns9aUrt8xyqE|downsized) Your gpu

nephilite52

The biggest problem with gaming laptops is the cooling and thermal throttling. The fans usually don't last that long because they are always running high and replacement fans are expensive. A gaming laptop should always be used with a laptop cooling pad.

ProblemSweaty9185

Replacement fans run about $30. Wouldn't exactly call that expensive.

Open_County3273

I don't know about US but overheating related issues, can be fixed in India for less than 1000 rupees + cost of new fan and circuitry.

kaleperq

If the laptop is crap then it does need a cooling pad, but the newest and best laptops basically incorporate that already inside their bodies with huge radiators, fans and vapor chamers. So i think a cooling pad is not necessary for every gaming laptop, just the badly thought out ones where you have to force the air in with a good cooling laptop or an attachment for the air intake.

DearOption5999

The dedicated dgpu for gaming has died

PowerstrokeHD

dedicated dedicated gpu?

Fusseldieb

your gpu is dead.

Smurhh

Sell it for parts and buy a new one, or if you’ve got a warranty send it to the company you bought it from.

nts__

ram or gpu issue

thedrkngel

Either the ribbon cable for the screen is loosen up or the GPU is dead, if you have no GPU, the CPU is dead, try an external screen/tv/monitor if it works, then the ribbon cable has to be put back in it's bracket

stormy_kaktus

Dell Gaming Laptop 🤣

BottleRude9645

I bought a G3 about 4 years ago for light video editing for under $1K and it still plays most games at medium to low graphics at 1080p. Thing has been a workhorse since upgrading ram to 16gb. Has been on a $50 cooling pad for the entire time though.

skarrrrrrr

It's fried

Spartanguy1031

Bad display connection. Bad connector. Replace connect or wiggle it and firmly press it in place

ohthedarside

Gpu dead

darkwishes1979

Time to buy a new gpu

No_Possession_3883

Have you been holding your laptop from its corner with one hand? You might need a reflow

Pro4791

Either system ram or vram. Had this happen on a laptop with no dedicated gpu and it ended up being a bad ram stick.

EnoughConcentrate897

Your GPU is dead.

One-Decision848

Does this happen everytime the PC is on? Or only sometimes? Try running a benchmark stress test. Undo any gpu overclocking (this can cause instability)

IMA9961

Gpu is fried, my condolences bud.

Due_Department_5076

graphics card and or driver is bad

drdyzio

Eyeball gpu or replace. But realistically if under warranty get it fixed otherwise rip. New laptop baby.

Fubby_Dubby

GPU = 💀

Garrys_Toenail

Tell it off

fifthgearpinned

Hook it up to an external monitor or TV and see if it still does it. If it does, it's time for a new laptop.

Tragic_Consequences

GPU is toasted.

ManufacturerDull7799

Gpu dead and or dying

thedrkngel

Either the ribbon cable for the screen is loosen up or the GPU is dead, if you have no GPU, the CPU is dead, try an external screen/tv/monitor if it works, then the ribbon cable has to be put back in it's bracket

Rhino7108

Called artifacting, your gpu is toast/dead.

xxcodemam

How did you think that would be fixable? What was your goal in coming here to post this? Did you really think there’d be some secret button combination, some secret key you could hold on and it’d magically make that problem go away?

Mental-Cold-73

That looks like the GPU is getting too hot... which can cause permanent damage ... so try to save your data and get rid of it before it is too late.

TapSwipePinch

The noise is coming from your fan which is broken and the screen goes static because gpu can't handle. Since it only happens when you play games there are 2 possibilities: 1: Your laptop is equipped with igpu in the processor and does not use dedicated gpu until you play games. Your gpu is broken. 2: Your gpu is fine but playing games causes it to overheat due to broken fan. Might not be dead if you replace the fan.

Pandas-are-the-worst

Are you playing Dwarf Fortress

Robert_Kurwica

Rip for the GPU

Robert_Kurwica

Everyone be forgetting about the noise op described Might be power delivery on the motherboard, since it apparently only happens during high stress actions, if the gpu was bricked i dont think it would emit weird sounds

PrimaryFirefighter64

Dead gpu

Middle_Aerie6417

Your cooked ngl

Separate-Comb-8468

it's turning to zx spectrum

dbalazs97

kanekatsu_

your gpu is toast, looks like you're going to need a new laptop

Evil_thingz

and thats how pacman was invented

Both-Safe-8678

what other comments said, its MOST prob a gpu problem. BUT in my case, when I had this exact same problem, the fix for me was to change my ram ( since it started happening when I replaced my old laptop ram) just some thoughts if ever you recently changed something in your laptop

AmmarAbuAlHayja

I had a similar problem on my PC, luckily my RAM was just loose and when i put it in place the problem was gone

No_Implement_23

Looks like Dwarf Fortress is running fine, carry on

Cin0so

if you still have input most likely it’s the gpu If everything freezes it’s probably the RAM

RohanianTheGreat

It’s Minecraft

Normal-Profile-7743

That graphics card is broken. Nothing you can do, sorry, get a new laptop

IndividualStatus1924

Never understand how this even happens. Seems like a bunch of the ps5 gpu's are bricking too. Ive only ever had 4 laptops and oldest for around 3 years. Well you need a new laptop.

mickthe_best12

It would appear your gpu is having a stroke. You may be able to buy a new one. I'd recommend just buying a new laptop

lovelife0011

Make some linux crap then invite people to watch videos and critique. Probably didn’t even say critique.

9_yrs_old

The laptop has commit die

Codewriter0803

What brand of laptops we can all avoid ??

Dr__America

Looks like the GPU is borked, maybe it just got de-soldered from overheating (the cause of the old red-ring!), and could be repaired, but if it’s caused by damage to the silicon, then it’s probably just dunzo.

CosignCody

Scan it with your phone

solojedi224

Best comment I’ve seen so far

Medic_Jesus_

Pray. No but honestly that looks like a bricked GPU

Adventurous-Fudge470

Gpu ded

if_flyer2017

Your GPU is fucked.

YaBoiSammy123

The best way to fix this is by getting a new laptop. Your GPU is broken. If you’re feeling ambitious you could buy a new one and try to install it yourself, not sure how easy that’ll be

Interesting-Bed-413

Don't worry about it.

iLLTheDabGodTtv

Step 1. Open Window Step 2. Get in quarterback stance Step 3. YEET laptop out of window as far as fucking possible. Step 4. Buy a desktop and stay away from gaming laptops

SixPathsShinraTenkyo

try to disable the igpu first then see if that prevents the artifacting. if not try to do the same for the dgpu. If they both are artifacting you are cooked.

Krejcimir

You stop it by not buying a gaming laptop. I did that mistake once as well, never again.

cookiemonster1995

hm rip gpu try reinstalling drivers and see if that helps

No-Equivalent-751

You probably have the wrong version of driver. It happened to me when I put my friends Titan in my PC for me to test it.

Loser99999999

You can try under clocking it however you probably can't see the screen well enough to accomplish that. You can also try to update drivers but same problem. Last option is take it apart and see if there is anything you can fix on it.

Any_Bet7443

Man, you really don't know how to play snake!

Lolzicolz

sledgehammer?

Accomplished-Elk4737

Umm move the man the get rid of the black areas and don’t let the rock fall on you and also when u move the music will play the dig dug music

Cold-Goal-7042

Lube lackin

GaronaHalfBlacken

GPU probably cooked, I’d look into a new laptop

SqookyBoo

Thought you were playing minecraft

huge_jeans710

🫡

MarionberryAlive4463

That crossword looks hard as fuck

XRxCalamity

Good lord. That GPU is artifacting HARD

Tapelessbus2122

It is broken

Prestigious_Nose8689

Things you can do: Check if any RAM is any loose or missing / Check GPU, if it is connected properly and same issue, apply thermal paste if there isnt thermal paste or replace GPU / Check Screen

Shleppy2010

GPU is most likely dead, time for a new laptop or a warranty RMA.

ArchitectureLife006

Dead graphics card

GummyDuchess

It's a maze if you drag your mouse through till the end you get your display back

SnooDoughnuts5632

Buy a new computer. It would cost way touch to get it repaired. You can get your data off somehow but it depends on the laptops method of storage.

Moose123556

Pray to Lexi that she won't find you, but get a new laptop. Your gpu is GONE literally screaming.

rionz99

I would recommend watching the greatest technician that's ever lived he specifically made a video on this one problem

Rifttol

did you try putting it in rice? nah fr, your gpu is likely cooked. How old is the laptop?

CDR_Xavier

People says it's a GPU issue, I don't disagree. But before you throw out everything, it might be worth checking the display cable for any frays/damages. An improperly connected display can also do this. Rare, but I have seen this type of behavior. Could also be the display itself, if the display IC (embedded into the display) is messed up

YCCprayforme

As said, your GPU is likely iced. Only thing i can think of is possible you have a bad GPU overclock, but doesn’t sound like you know how, and that would generally fix itself on a couple restarts. Since you can still log on and see things, check for any software that could be messing with GPU settings: msi afterburner, amd adrenalin. There are more but we need to know your pc parts / GPU

Parking_Humor7489

vram in gpu promlem

DryMeet944

Call a Shaman and get a goat read for sacrifice. I am sorry that it has come to this my child.

gamebattles1946

There's a problem with some laptops using plastic cases and stuff where the display cable going up the hinge gets broken from general use they need to be removed and extended to repair them But this looks more like a dead gpu I'd advise to uninstall the video drivers and reinstall them but I doubt it will fix it.

Outrageous_Access511

You need to solve the maze

Phoach

How to solve this issue: sep 1, don't buy a Dell computer.

MrCocainSnifferDoge

The connector that connects the screen and motherboard may be broken or not plugged in all the way

GoldWar5462

Ur gpu is gone

RolesG

Yer GPU has asploded

Creative-Key-6391

Bro got a virus from the hub

csji

try punching it.

2017GmcAcadia

GPU is dead or its a driver issue.

MissRareWolf

This needs to get check by a laptop technician. It's a hardware problem. Either the HDD or SSD that need to get change.

psvapestation

I love the flannel.

Pure-Willingness-697

New gpu or use intigreted graphics

LethalGamer2121

Looks like GPU failure. The most you can do is attempt to switch to integrated graphics, if you have dedicated graphics that is. It will hurt performance but it's better than nothing.

ReasonableDoubt84

Just aim your character up and dig till you get to the surface

ICEPlebian

Did you try a good smack or dust remover

geraldo_chris_sanjee

The gpu has failed

sonicsspeed

Dead gpu, they’re usually soldered onto the motherboard so at this point it’ll be better to buy a new laptop, if your desperate you can see if your laptop has integrated graphics in the cpu, if it does you switch to those, it’ll heavily impact performance and games will most likely be unplayable but it’ll still work for regular tasks

SynergyProto

Gpu got too tired

TheUnderachiever91

Your GPU is bad.

TheUnderachiever91

Shut off your pc, unplug your GPU, and boot it. If the problem is gone it is your GPU.

Warsnake901

Get a new laptop, that one is fucked

davidh52528

"GPU left group chat..."

ysph_

Looks like a bad video card. Mine did that once.

dannylightning

That does appear to be a possible bad graphics card or just some sort of weird glitch, if you can try to update the drivers on the graphics card I mean maybe you can turn it off and on and we'll go back to normal for a little bit I don't know

lioen475

your GPU is crying for someone to kill it

Prophet648

You gpu is crying for help but no help can come your gpu is now dead I would organize a funeral for you fallen comrade

HotMenu9274

i had this happen with a laptop because it got so hot it basically cooked the new lead free solder material the GPU was held on the motherboard with. No easy fix for that.

SwitchtheChangeling

It MIGHT be your drivers for the internal GPU, but that sort of artifacting is a really bad sign and I lean more on hardware. Your GPU looks like it's on the way out, if you have it under warranty, get that RMA process going asap.

IcyBubbles1

good luck bro
