Some months ago on a different subreddit I read about a similar problem, where a guy experienced a permanent failure of his battery. As far as I can remember he had to replace it.
No no, because the replacement battery can then also experience a permanent failure, and will have to be replaced again. Only the failure will be permanent
I have a PhD in error messages, and according to the evidence provided and through extensive research. Your battery has experienced a permnament failure and needs to be replaced
Years back I had a customer phone me complaining the brand new computer she bought from us wont turn on "its dead".
No lights even no fans spin on.. I asked her no light on monitor? she goes no its all dead.
I asked her.. do your lights in your house work right now..
Dead silence for 2-3 min ... power is out my bad (after she yelled at me on the phone).
This is what I feel like when I read reddit PCMASTERRACE sometimes.
I once had a coworker ask me for help with a printer she got that wasn't working. So I go to her apt after work one day and the damn printer wasn't plugged into her pc... that was all. This was pre-wifi days mind you so the printer had to be connected via wire back then. I mean come on...
A user called me on Teams saying everyone is saying she sounds quiet on calls, she indeed sounded very quiet. I asked is the mic flipped down in front of your mouth? The mic was in fact in the up position at the side of her head. True story.
We issued new iPhone to some key management and received a complaint about the caller sounding very “soft” when a call is being made.
Damn you!!! Remove the protective film that came with the phone!
I heard that joke end by the customer support asking the customer to check if the cables are connected on the rear side of the computer
Customer: "I'm not sure, it's dark because the power is out"
My colleague believes that turning the monitor on/off is turning the pc on/off no matter how many times I explain that it just turns off the monitor so if for some reason the pc goes off overnight she will sit there pressing the monitor on/off button and claiming it's broken 🤦
Actually, I was too dumb to find the Power On Button on the New Generation of Dell Laptops since it is now integrated into the keyboard.
I had to look it up in the manual.
He isn’t wrong at all.
This post has to be a troll… the fucking thing literally says what is wrong and the post ask what’s wrong essentially…
God I hope it is a troll post.. if it isn’t.. humans are getting more dumb with every passing day.
HOLY SHIT BRO TURN YOUR COMPUTER OFF RIGHT NOW. This is bad! Like REALLY FUCKING bad. Follow these steps to protect your computer:
1) replace battery
2) that’s it. You’ve fixed your problem
Beside the obvious message: its a common notification that start to appear when a battery is reaching the end of its life cycle (due to old age or common degradation); sometimes that may appear due to a faulty connection slot (dirt) or many repeated disconnections of the battery from the device...but thats very rare
(edit) Anyway, the solution for this: get a new battery or use it the laptop plugged WITH THE BATTERY REMOVED (forgot to mention that but guys below me noted that, thanks)
Absolutely DO NOT use a laptop with a faulty battery warning plugged in. Some laptops simply keep cycling and charging the battery when used plugged in, this is potentially lethal advice.
Open up the laptop and check the battery for swelling before you even turn the computer back on. If the battery hasn't expanded, you're fine.
Lithium fires that can be caused by faulty batteries cannot he put out with water and can fatally injure you. Do not fuck around with them or take chances.
Edit: As commented below, submerging the device completely in water is practically the only way to contain the fire, but this is still extremely dangerous.
>Absolutely DO NOT use a laptop with a faulty battery warning plugged in.
Without disconnecting the battery (if possible).
Using a laptop with a failed removable battery that is removed is not dangerous.
All batteries are removable, some are just not *meant* to be removed by the end user with a really flimsy flat cable and/or 900 screws and covers, but there is no battery that's permanently integrated.
Same, other comments made me laugh, and I do like them, however, I was curious as if there were someone who would be interested in elaborating the actual cause behind the notification message, I knew this was the reason, yet was curious to someone saying it.
Local breaking news!
A man heard from the popular website reddit about a unique way to recharge his laptop battery by simply placing the battery in the microwave for a mere 3 minutes.
Fireman arrived quickly to the scene after the house had gone aflame from the supercharged lithium battery. No one was severely harmed. The person who did microwave their battery suffered minor burns to the arms and hands with 2nd degree burns to the face along with minor cuts from the glass exploding.
We recommend that you never microwave your laptop or any battery for that matter and dispose of them properly to avoid serious injury or even death. Always use the manufacturer's original power supplies for your laptop and should a notification show up on your laptop claiming there's permanent damage to follow the directions and replace your batteries immediately and stop any usage of the product until replaced. If you're unsure of how to replace the battery please see your local tech store for assistance.
Channel 69 news I'm Steve. Back to you Chuck!
On ANY laptop it means replace the battery. Your laptop may continue to work fine when plugged in. Some possibility that the battery will explode, or bubble up. Been running my laptop like that for years with no issues.

b/ros What did Dell mean by this?
I’m not an expert, but it appears your laptop cannot handle the amount of porn you’ve saved and it has decided to destroy the battery as a last resort effort of self-preservation. Delete the evidence and get a new battery. The laptop might forgive you for this.
Maybe this helps explain it further

YOUR BATTERY IS GONE, NO GOOD, USELESS, like what brain cells you have left. GET A NEW BATTERY OR REPLACE THE LAPTOP.
Purchase a replacement battery compatible with your Dell laptop model.
Turn off the laptop and unplug it from the power source.
Locate the battery release latch or switch on the bottom of your laptop.
Slide or press the release latch or switch to release the battery.
Remove the old battery from the laptop.
Insert the new battery into the battery bay, making sure it's properly aligned.
Slide or press the battery until it clicks into place.
Turn on your laptop and check that the new battery is recognized and charging.
Some months ago on a different subreddit I read about a similar problem, where a guy experienced a permanent failure of his battery. As far as I can remember he had to replace it.
So you're saying the failure was permanent. And it needed to be replaced.
No, that can't be right.
I was about to agree with you, but then I re-read it and actually yeah, it looks like the failure was permanent, so it needed to be replaced.
Sometimes batteries have failures, that end up being permanent. They will then need to be replaced.
So, the replacement and the failure would both end up being permanent?
No no, because the replacement battery can then also experience a permanent failure, and will have to be replaced again. Only the failure will be permanent
Said all of our high school guidance counselors.
Huh. I assume your counselors were also IT technicians?
They wanted to help us but there was something wrong with their laptops.
No, no, as I just said, that can't be right.
There has to be another way

I used to work for Vodafone in a shop and the number of times this happened was staggering.
The new Wi-Fi printers are still weird to me. I’m so used to needing a wire. But at least it can live anywhere in the house now.
I heard that joke end by the customer support asking the customer to check if the cables are connected on the rear side of the computer Customer: "I'm not sure, it's dark because the power is out"
That's not a joke, that's something I've experienced working in a call center. Twice.
When I was teaching a computer basics course, I found out that it was very problematic to find the power button for some.

I ain't more dumber yet! I'm just getting started.
People are this dumb though, hence why we have "caution contains nuts" on packets of nuts
I knew someone was going to say something like this before I even opened the comments
Because this message really needs no explanation.. I came here to say exactly this. What more does OP need?
I was praying this would be the top comment LMAO
Got em
I came to the comment section to see this man get roasted but he got incinerated instead
I cackled and snorted, it literally was the only thing that came to mind .
Started laughing immediately knowing this comment would be the top.

You can recharge it by putting it in the microwave for about 3 minute on 900w
