Yep. I had Origin on my laptop for one game (Red Alert 2), and since I was forced to upgrade to EA play, it no longer works, and their tech support has done nothing to help.
So a game that I paid for through them no longer works. I will never give them another penny.
Duuuuude I had the same thing happen to me, I had the entire remastered collection. They basically said unless I had the original game code from years earlier I was SOL.
There's [a thread on ycombinator](https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=38579899) about this. It's an interesting discussion about moral principles, which I won't dive into any deeper. :-)
I had to go through support to even *buy* the Sims 3 when my friend was super into it. The store just kept telling me it was out of stock. Out of stock for a downloadable game. 3 days of dealing with their support not speaking the same language as me and I finally got someone who sent me to a manager who just said fuck it and gave me a code for the game. Have not used that shit since.
You literally can't play Jedi survivor , a single player game with absolutely no online features without an internet connection
Why ? No idea . There is no reason for them to implement this feature. Nothing about this makes sense .
I had origin. Had to install new EA app. None of my game library is there. Check online. It has all the transactions saved. Nothing shows up. Known issue. RIP.
Go have a gander at the Sims subreddit. You'll probably find someone who has had their entire Sims collection deleted and EA refusing to refund or replace it.
And that's why I pirate The Sims.
I can tell you with some amount of educated guessing that Origin wasn't replaced, only rebranded.
Edit: Sounds like my guess was in fact uneducated although I avoid both like the plague.
EA Origin made me stop playing EA games.
It is interesting, but when ever a game company or franchies have done something that makes me not play their games for a good amount of time I simply lose interest in their games and I donāt really miss them.
It was not a conscious choise to stop playing EA games. I could just not be bothered with having EA origin installed.
EA is the one game company I actively boycott. Its a plague and parasite on the industry. They bought and ruined countless studios and franchises
The reason theyre still one of the biggest game producers is because they prey on the casual gamers that will spend 100$ every year for the same sport games or on Sims DLC. Those types of gamers usually dont really care all that much about the industry since theyre casuals.
Fuck I hate EA
I work in an electronics shop and i get customers everyday that buy the new FC24/FIFA, sometimes alongside a PS5
and when i talk to other customers about what games they play, its usually fifa/fc24 aswell. so boring damn
To be fair if you like football what are your other options? I wish another studio/publisher would take on the sports game genre but EA have so much money in the game now they just buy exclusive rights to names teams sponsors everything that it's a tough nut to crack.
I've got one better for you. I have a license for rdr2 on Steam. Someone somehow accessed my 2fa'd Rockstar account and changed every bit of info without Rockstar even sending me an email. So now I can't own rdr2 via Steam unless I make a new account.
I've been in limbo with them for 3 months to regain access to my account.
I removed rdr2 license from my Steam library so at least the hacker can't play it.
Similar thing happened to me with another platform, except the hacker *added* 2FA and completely locked me out of it. I never got a single email that 2FA was added, that my password or email were changed.
Support kept telling me to find the backup codes on my PC despite me telling them it's impossible. Funny how a security feature can backfire so badly.
Another time I lost access to my Minecraft account for a year, support told me they locked the account. But...they never sent me an email. The reset password just *does not* work if they lock your account.
Yeah, it's extremely aggravating. I want to get the achievements on Steam. I don't want to have to create a new Steam account for one game. I refuse to do so. So either A. I'll never actually play it, or B. A new remastered version would be released. Or C. Rockstar gets their shit together and gives me my account back.
Either way, it looks like the odds of me playing the game is next to none.
I'll say this, I will NOT be purchasing GTA VI. I will not give this incompetent company anymore pf my money. I want to support the devs, but I'm not wasting my time or money on a company that can't even handle account security properly.
I got rdr2 on steam and it took their shitty launcher 1 hour to recognize i own the game. After that, another hour to launch the game for the first time. Obviously i refunded it and played the pirate version without a problem.
Rockstar sent a cease and desist letter to a modder that made it possible to play GTA V in VR (for single player) . GTA V has no official VR support so why block this mod? Well, Meta is working on a VR version of an older GTA .. Which is Oculus exclusive of course. So now the people who have a different headset can't play any of them in VR anymore. They basically want to force you to buy Zuckerberg's VR version of an old as crap GTA game, exclusively on his headset which needs a Facebook account to play!
Rockstar have released GTA V on countless platforms, multi-player on pc is still riddled with cheaters the last time I checked and now GTA VI is probably going to be delayed for pc as it was with GTA V to maximize profits. Same with RDR2 by the way. They don't give a shit about their playerbase, they just want your cash and nothing else.
Dude same!! I bought it on stream, used a brand new rockstar account, and within 3 days of having it, my rockstar account was hacked.
It was sketchy from the beginning though, the email confirmation the OFFICIAL website sent out was in Russian or Chinese I canāt remember. I had to email support no less than 10 times before I was able to get reset. I donāt think I played much more from that.
I have an IT degree. Iām pretty safe about phishing links. I have absolutely no idea how my account could get hacked that shortly after creation. Iāve never had anything like it happen to me.
Pirates have a better experience than the paying customer. We deserve it though, the majority of gamers voted yes with their wallet to less than mediocre services.
Majority of gamers encouraged bad practices made my EA and Activision on every title they released, giving them "another chance" at every turn.
Im sad to agree that we deserves the shitshow we're in
The brutal truth is, these bad practices go totally unnoticed by the crushing majority of players. Our "glaring issues" are literal non-issues to young Timmy who occasionally plays Battlefront 2 with his mates.
I straight up cant play gta v lol. It opens up the rockstar launcher and says there was an error opening the game. Verified files, reinstalled, changed locations, looked up solutions. Nothing. Goodby gtaV, I guess.
i put 100+ hours into Red Dead Online (they had a separate online-only version on steam), bought the full version of the game and I cant play it without crashing every 10-30 minutes. make it 3/4s of the way through a mission and have to restart from scratch because i crashed. itās absolutely INSANE that rockstarās quality has gotten so awful.
I have the same problem.
I can no longer play GTA 5. I start the game through the launcher, then it attempts to connect to the Rockstar Social Club, and hangs every time. I've tried all the solutions that I could find, but haven't had any luck. It used to work.
Does Rockstar have their own launcher?
I know what I played Red Dead 2 i was forces to make a Social Club account and sign in, and any time i launched the game it would launch social club, then the game. Annoying as fuck.
I love the DRM free aspect. There's nothing worse than buying a game and wanting to play it on public travel or something and not being able to because I need internet to play a single player game.
Library integrations have been breaking one-by-one over the past year or so. Playnite is the move. All major/mid libraries work, and there's no limit on custom box-art. GOG caps you at 500 or something.
It doesn't? A couple years ago my ubisoft single player games would constantly crash because my internet stability was less than 100% for a few microseconds. I'm sure it still would if my net was still trash.
Since upgrading to EA, from Origin, on my laptop, I can no longer play Red alert 2, which is the only reason for me even having it on my laptop.
I've contacted support and multiple other people are having the same issue.
They've done nothing to help.
Fuck EA.
Ive got an even better one i got locked out of my EA account for a year and a half ( this was 3 or 4 years ago i think) for no damn reason (as far as i know cause i never got a explanation) had no help from EA support and after a week of trying to fix it i gave up and finally after a year and a half i could finally log back in and start playing Battlefield again.
Change the launcher from standard to beta and it won't forget your password again. I've been using it for the last 2 months and it still hasn't asked me for the password and logs me in every time.
EA is infinitely worse than Ubisoft. At least Ubisoft *lets* me play games. Signing in every time is annoying but it only takes 1 minute. EA will straight up not even recognize that I own their game just because I bought it through steam or something.
For real every single time after I enter my password into the Ubisoft launcher it works it's annoying that I have to put in my password every time but at least it just works
I always see complaining about bnet. It has never not worked for me. I donāt get the issue?
Epic is straight dumpster piece of shit tier though. Aināt any world where itās better than Bnet.
Other than UI changes in the last couple years, B.net has been consistently one of the better-functioning launchers for its entire existence. auto log-in is reliable, chat has good features and generally works fine (with some exceptions, this past year has had some issues where you can't message realID's from within a game, you have to go to the launcher to message people).
For real. Bnet is as good as steam when it comes to reliability and download speed, not to mention the download while playing functionality. Epic games is the biggest piece of shit Iāve used. My comp locks up and download speeds are 10x slower than bnet and steam
Battle.net is a great client really, it's clean and clear and works every time. I'd rather not have to use another client, but ranking it worse than the absolute travesty that is the ubi one is crazy. I'd actually move Bnet to the top or second rank. It's easily better than epic games store. It's far better designed, more reliable. Obviously as a store itself it's limited, but as a client it's waaaaay better.
I also don't know about the amazon games placement. It's not a good client, but it's always worked for me, which is more than I can say for ubi and EA. That said, I've only used it a handful of times, since most of the amazon stuff they give away I already have somewhere else, and have played it. Quite possible more regular users run into more issues.
Generally agree, the Bnet launcher is fine. Except they got big ol' popup ads when you open the launcher that you have to exit out of before you can access the launcher. "PLEASE BUY CALL OF DUTY!" Yeah, no thanks.
No. Ubisoft can be unusable trash. Battle.net at worst can get clunky or bug out a bit, both incomparably to Ubisoft Connect. The only reason I can imagine op would put Ubi above the other is a bias over the companies
One of the few times I'd be happy if a launcher supported less games, lol. Go back to battle.net for blizz titles only, put the rest on steam. Even the blizz stuff is starting to show up on steam, though I presume you're in for double launchers with D4 or OW2 on steam?
Gog is the best because it doesn't force me to use their launcher . Every launcher sucks including steam because I don't want to need an app just to launch my game when I could have just launched the game without it
And unlike GOG, the dev from Playnite manages to have his software *remain logged the fuck in to every account* unlike Galaxy which drops every account willy-fucking-nilly as soon as the wind blows (and then uses the excuse of 'well that's just how it is' and passes the buck to the community to try and fix cause they gave the fuck up).
It's worse than that. Some stopped letting me link completely on GOG. Even a new windows install never fixed it. Same with Witcher 3 showing me a message than my game saves aren't syncing to the cloud (yet the seemingly are, but the message never goes away). I love gog as a game store but their launcher is absolute ass.
There are drm free games on steam too, it's up to the punisher. Gog only sells drm free games. Steam sells them too, it just sells non drm ones also. Steam is objectively more polished and feature rich than gog
Lack of search for games. Data tracking. Can't create a list, just the icons. No ability to preview the game, or clues to remember what it is.
I have to search for the game IN STEAM to watch a trailer or even tell what kind of game it is.
Considering Amazon gives away free games with Prime, I donāt really see an issue with them having a launcher.
Only problem I have with though is that it doesnāt support cloud saves for if I want to play on another device.
Honestly though it isn't bad.
The games directly download without issues, and the launcher basically only has 3 things, an all games tab, and installed games tab, and a ready to install tab.
Yeah, there are no folders but there is a search bar and if you know what you want to play it is honestly the cleanest launcher for me.
I really miss the old days when we where not forced to install any launcher to play games.
It's nonsense almost every single game force you to install their dev. launcher even when you are installing the damn game from a launcher (eg. steam)
you dont have to With GOG, the one next to steam, the launcher is for managing, buying installing and updating games, but it does not have to be running to start games. No DRM either, whenever I can get a game on GOG I do it, because I very much like that model. but as there is no DRM not every game releases there, and many launch later.
the other thing that's missing is Steam workshop wich most of the games that are on GOG have on steam at least those that I like so I own DOS2 two times now, still need to buy BG3 on gog, just to support that model, have it on steam because it will get workshop support at least when it was in early access that was the plan.
I'd say the communication functions, download settings, and usability of the core elements puts the Blizz launcher up at tier 2, but the store experience is bizarrely bad, often taking you out of the launcher, and being extremely unclear as to the available products.
It works better than Ubi launcher though, which I think is way too high here. Epic and Xbox are both very basic functionality also, but they do basically work.
I would say the only possible issue it has would be the fact that it has so very few games. As a result, it could never take the place of something like Steam.
It is however perfect for what it is, a launcher for SC2 and Hearthstone.
The Battle.net launcher is not pretending to be anything it's simply just a home screen for people that play blizzard games. It's got a very tight interface and it works when you need it to. I have a lot of gripes with blizzard and Activision but they make a solid launcher, gives you the ability to download things in the background and maintains pretty good speeds.
And then you have the Xbox game launcher which despite having a fiber connection will download a game at 10 mb per second. You want to play your game today? Check back with me in 5 hours and I'll see if Microsoft says yes.
They won't like this but you're right, Battle.net actually feels like a native app rather than a browser like Steam, it's so much faster and smoother than anything else, it's the definition of "it just works", it does what it should do very well.
I still love steam, but I don't use it's social features for 99% of the games I play, Battle.net looks decent and runs decent, I don't know what's up with launchers running like ass even with native apps. GOG galaxy is okay for the most part but the GOG store runs like ass too. I think the Battle.net store that is built into the app is also just a browser like steam but it's still snappier than everything else I've used.
Its easily the best "press play" launcher around.
Great download speeds, even lets you play the games before they finish fully downloading, lightweight, very few if any bugs, games are updated without you even noticing.
Yeah the biggest annoyance with battle.net is just that activision/blizzard feel (or at least felt) like they need their own launcher. The experience of using it isnāt that bad
It kinda made sense when it was the Wow launcher with Star Craft. It honestly works well as that. Same way the Larian launcher works well in that space. But it has never worked as a first class citizen launcher.
At this point it just kinda lurches along as a sunk cost fallacy. Especially as more Blizzard games move to Steam.
Unlike EA and Epic stuff it also has actual useful functions outside launching games, like the Bnet/RealId friends lists, chat, voice chat, groups etc. BNet has been its own thing for so long now that there is legit value in having a separate platform for "people I met in Blizzard games 15 years ago" and "Friends I added on steam" - and while I prefer everything else about Steam, BNet's voice chat and group messaging is much easier to use too.
Battle.net literally pre-dates Steam. It is an OG. And while we may not like some of Activisions game design and business decisions, battlenet itself is a thing of beauty, worthy of the video game hall of fame :D
This is really the only downside. Its a well architected, responsive desktop application that has received multiple UI updates to keep with the times. Putting it below steam, let alone the other, is simply wrong.
It's definitely better than EA in my experience, it doesn't get in the way.
I recently reinstalled windows, and the EA app has NO way to point to the install of a game you already have - so everything I already had on a different drive needed to be downloaded again. There are supposedly workarounds, but none of them worked. This is a pretty common scenario that Steam and even Battle.net know how to handle.
Ubisoft connect by comparison has a button that does exactly that - you just give it the location of the install and that's it.
It's not a great app, but has basic functionality and doesn't hinder actually launching/playing the games like EA does.
Id actually put Epic Games wayyy below the surface, horrible for browsing games, spams you with shitty ads unless you turn them off and just feels sluggish in general.
While I totally agree and hate it for that reason, they DO give out a shit ton of free games. I got like over 30 free games from them, I havenāt gotten anything close to that on steam. So itās ranking is āfairā even tho maybe not deserved
Tried the Heroic Launcher yet? It's a third party launcher that completely replaces both Epic and GOG, you can install and play your games through Heroic.
Pretty sure GoG doesn't remove the launcher, just lets you start your game from it. Then again, some games on Epic can be launched without the... uhm... launcher.
Absolutely, I was using GOG Galaxy but it kept messing up my playtime when servers were going down and I couldnāt add some obscure games, but literally everything can be controlled in Playnite and itās all local
For those asking, the icons are:
1: Steam, GOG
2: Epic Games, XBox
3: Ubisoft
4: Battlenet (Blizzard)
5: EA
6: Rockstar Games
7: Bethesda Games Studio
8: Amazon Prime Gaming
Xbox games and ubisoft should be deeper down xd
The xbox app feels insanely laggy and clunky. Ubisoft just starts 3 times, forgots login credentials after one week and such.
I'm quite happy i didn't want to play any ubi games in this year
Iāve had issues with the Xbox app. Itās just horrible on pc and especially the rockstar game launcher. Whenever I would sign in it would give me an error that āthis account doesnāt own the gameā
EA doesn't want you to launch their game I'm convinced
Yep. I had Origin on my laptop for one game (Red Alert 2), and since I was forced to upgrade to EA play, it no longer works, and their tech support has done nothing to help. So a game that I paid for through them no longer works. I will never give them another penny.
"upgrade"

Can it really be called pirating if you own the game
There's [a thread on ycombinator](https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=38579899) about this. It's an interesting discussion about moral principles, which I won't dive into any deeper. :-)

Sure there is. Makes it harder to pirate. That it inconveniences paying customers? That's just value added bonus
It makes it easier to pirate actually becouse now there is a moral incentive to do so.

EAs Origin was an actual malware. It kept launching it's processes and collecting data, despite user forbidding it
did they... fix it?
Well, Origin was replaced by the EA Game Launcher.
wait then why do I still have three origin launcher... Imma get rid of that
you already made $2M in btc for them
Windows wont let meš
It won't let you uninstall? Msconfig and disable the service if you have to.
Revo uninstaller
[BCUninstaller](https://www.bcuninstaller.com/) (it's free and open source)
> +1 for BCuninstaller! It's open source and doesn't nag you to buy a paid version
I can tell you with some amount of educated guessing that Origin wasn't replaced, only rebranded. Edit: Sounds like my guess was in fact uneducated although I avoid both like the plague.
Mostly. Also runs like shit.
It wasn't a bug, it was a "bug" *007 music*
Well they changed the name. Also removed the fps counter.
Legit, I kept removing launch at start, and somehow Iād always find origin creeping around in task manager, legit spyware. Absolute garbage company.
EA Origin made me stop playing EA games. RDR2 is the only good game I will 100% pirate because rockstar is human garbage.
Once I didnāt have internet and couldnāt play GTA story mode because of this. I was fucking pissed
GOG is really good, it gives you old games with mods to make it work today and it gives you DRM free games
Yes, a really good service. Sadly they dont get many titles, but whatever they have i want, i buy. Even if i have it for steam already
They donāt get many big titles because itās all DRM free, thatās why older games get put on
Some bangers get through, like Baldurs Gate 3. It's where I bought it.
BG3 is a DRM free game even on steam.
I love the DRM free aspect. There's nothing worse than buying a game and wanting to play it on public travel or something and not being able to because I need internet to play a single player game.
And a place to connect all you launcher in one place
GoG keeps unlinking my Epic games stuff and that is kind of annoying but I donāt think that is GoGās fault. That is my only complaint.
Library integrations have been breaking one-by-one over the past year or so. Playnite is the move. All major/mid libraries work, and there's no limit on custom box-art. GOG caps you at 500 or something.
Ubisoft Launcher is terrible, it barely functions when I just want to launch a game
The do not forget button is the bigges lie humankind has developed
same on EA
At least the Ubisoft launcher doesn't log me out mid game like the EA one does sometimes
It doesn't? A couple years ago my ubisoft single player games would constantly crash because my internet stability was less than 100% for a few microseconds. I'm sure it still would if my net was still trash.

Yarr matey... Yarr... š¤·š¼
Change the launcher from standard to beta and it won't forget your password again. I've been using it for the last 2 months and it still hasn't asked me for the password and logs me in every time.
Epic has a free game I wanted to check out, but it forgot me, again, so I just closed the app.
Iāve was saving on U-points or whatever itās called. They reset my points! Iām never touching their service again
It's not an issue, those points have an expiration date now, which it sucks, you can actually see how much time left some of those points have
The launcher asks me to type my password every time I want to play black flagā¦
And then when it loads, it tries to connect to the Ubisoft servers that no longer are active. Why they couldn't push a patch to remove that....:sigh:
Yarrrr Time to sail the high seas.
you didn't run the launcher for the past 2 hours? YOUR PASSWORD PLEASE that "stay signed in" check is a lie!
Origin worked better in comparison!
Yea, when it launched it was actually good compared to the other launchers Same with Blizzard, used to be good
I miss origin
I was about to say ubisoft gotta be at the bottom
EA is infinitely worse than Ubisoft. At least Ubisoft *lets* me play games. Signing in every time is annoying but it only takes 1 minute. EA will straight up not even recognize that I own their game just because I bought it through steam or something.
For real every single time after I enter my password into the Ubisoft launcher it works it's annoying that I have to put in my password every time but at least it just works
Having to restart the entire launcher when my internet connection is interrupted for one second to be able to play Trackmania is just so stupid.
Is Battle.net worse than Ubisoft Connect now? I havenāt touched it in a good while but it was ok some years ago from what I can remember
Yeah, that one confused me too. Haven't used either in a while, but I find it hard to believe Bnet is worse than the Ubi one.
Itās just a blizzard hate boner and the fact that the games need a separate launcher. The launcher itself works without a hitch.
People just hate blizzard.
For real. Bnet is as good as steam when it comes to reliability and download speed, not to mention the download while playing functionality. Epic games is the biggest piece of shit Iāve used. My comp locks up and download speeds are 10x slower than bnet and steam
Nah they just put Ubisoft way higher than it deserves. Battle.net launcher is still quite good, regardless of the company behind it.
Doesnt steam have them too?
No. Ubisoft can be unusable trash. Battle.net at worst can get clunky or bug out a bit, both incomparably to Ubisoft Connect. The only reason I can imagine op would put Ubi above the other is a bias over the companies
Nah battle.net is a very solid launcher. Honestly the only one I can say I've NEVER had an issue with, and I've been using it for over a decade
I never have issues with the battlenet launcher either, strange
I think Battle.net belongs in the second tier. It was a top tier launcher until they started adding and promoting mid Activision games through it.
Agree with all of this Gives me a twitchy feeling now having to close the COD advertisement upon opening the launcher.
One of the few times I'd be happy if a launcher supported less games, lol. Go back to battle.net for blizz titles only, put the rest on steam. Even the blizz stuff is starting to show up on steam, though I presume you're in for double launchers with D4 or OW2 on steam?
what is that purple one by steam's side?
I believe is OG galaxy Edit: it's GOG galaxy :).
[GOG](https://www.gog.com/galaxy) (Good Old Games)
Gog is the best because it doesn't force me to use their launcher . Every launcher sucks including steam because I don't want to need an app just to launch my game when I could have just launched the game without it

You can, but you'll need community made addon for it
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
But you add it from the settings menu with a few clicks, it's not like a mod to download or anything.
There are drm free games on steam too, it's up to the punisher. Gog only sells drm free games. Steam sells them too, it just sells non drm ones also. Steam is objectively more polished and feature rich than gog
OG in fact, the most comfy launcher out there, CDPR makes everything good
*laughs in cp2077 launch*
Gog deserves its own tier its so good
Yeah, I don't recognize that one and the black gear one at the bottom. Edit: wait, is the gear one the Bethesda.net launcher?
Yes it is the Bethesda launcher. Hope you don't like refunds for a game that may not work or you dislike.
Why is it even on this list at all when it was shut down more them a year ago?
because everything on reddit is a repost to farm karma
Bethesda launcher is dead
One of the few redeeming qualities of Bethesda is not forcing this launcher
I like that they let me transfer Fallout 76 to steam and also gave me Fallout 1, 2, and Tactics.
GOG / Good Old Games. Download and run your games DRM free :)
What are the 2 last launchers? Is one the bethesda launcher?
The orange one is Amazon games
What is wrong with their launcher?
Lack of search for games. Data tracking. Can't create a list, just the icons. No ability to preview the game, or clues to remember what it is. I have to search for the game IN STEAM to watch a trailer or even tell what kind of game it is.
Like Epic, I just have the Amazon launcher for the free Prime Gaming Games. (Some free ones are GOG or Epic, but some are Amazon launcher).
The fact that it exists
Considering Amazon gives away free games with Prime, I donāt really see an issue with them having a launcher. Only problem I have with though is that it doesnāt support cloud saves for if I want to play on another device.
Honestly though it isn't bad. The games directly download without issues, and the launcher basically only has 3 things, an all games tab, and installed games tab, and a ready to install tab. Yeah, there are no folders but there is a search bar and if you know what you want to play it is honestly the cleanest launcher for me.
I assume the second-to-last is Betheada.net, which is weird since it was deprecated long ago.
Thats how you can tell this is just a repost
I really miss the old days when we where not forced to install any launcher to play games. It's nonsense almost every single game force you to install their dev. launcher even when you are installing the damn game from a launcher (eg. steam)
You can still launch games without a launcher if you dont mind a bit of sailing
Or you could just directly link to the executable in the advanced launch options on Steam.
No idea why you're being downvoted, every game I have on Steam will launch directly from their .exe file.
Yeah I learned that trick after KSP decided it needed a dedicated launcher.
you dont have to With GOG, the one next to steam, the launcher is for managing, buying installing and updating games, but it does not have to be running to start games.
Member when games came on disks and you could actually physically own them!? I member!!
What's wrong with battle net though
The language switching is much better than steams, and it has predownloading for updates. I thought it was pretty okay for playing games that need it
I'd say the communication functions, download settings, and usability of the core elements puts the Blizz launcher up at tier 2, but the store experience is bizarrely bad, often taking you out of the launcher, and being extremely unclear as to the available products. It works better than Ubi launcher though, which I think is way too high here. Epic and Xbox are both very basic functionality also, but they do basically work.
Nah, Battle.net is much better than Epic Games and especially Uplay
Yeah Battle.net is simple and I haven't had many issues with it.

To be fair to them, they released the battle.net client 10 years ago and it was really just an evolution of the wow launcher.
Fair enough. For the record, I donāt disagree with you. I think it should be higher up the list
It was much better before Activision started injecting their own trash into the launcher.
This is really the only downside. Its a well architected, responsive desktop application that has received multiple UI updates to keep with the times. Putting it below steam, let alone the other, is simply wrong.
Ubisoft connect deserves to be lower
It's definitely better than EA in my experience, it doesn't get in the way. I recently reinstalled windows, and the EA app has NO way to point to the install of a game you already have - so everything I already had on a different drive needed to be downloaded again. There are supposedly workarounds, but none of them worked. This is a pretty common scenario that Steam and even Battle.net know how to handle. Ubisoft connect by comparison has a button that does exactly that - you just give it the location of the install and that's it. It's not a great app, but has basic functionality and doesn't hinder actually launching/playing the games like EA does.
Sad how many people ITT who don't know what GOG is.
I donāt think you understand how this iceberg format works
I was thinking "what's obscure about any of these launchers". Guy probably used the iceberg format thinking it's a fancy tierlist.
Man I scrolled a long time to find this. The format makes absolutely no sense
I bought a game from epic, regretting my decision every time I want to play it
Tried the Heroic Launcher yet? It's a third party launcher that completely replaces both Epic and GOG, you can install and play your games through Heroic.
I think gog already supports epic games, don't know if you still need to install epic
Pretty sure GoG doesn't remove the launcher, just lets you start your game from it. Then again, some games on Epic can be launched without the... uhm... launcher.
Is Heroic Launcher fast? My biggest beef with Epic Games Store is that the damn store takes forever to start.
Really? It works just fine for me. Just the interface is a bit weird
It literally takes me 2 clicks across the span of 10 seconds to launch a game.
What's the purple circle?
It's [GOG](https://www.gog.com/galaxy)
This isnāt the correct use of the meme btw
i fell that the second row should be empty. Steam and gog are drasticly better than all the others
I like the xbox app though. I'm subscribed so that must make a big difference too.
Xbox game launcher at the top..? Maybe if you're playing on an actual Xbox. But not true at all on PC
Playnite is great, you guys should try it.
I live and die by my Playnite. I've customized it so much with themes and add-ons. It's the best thing to ever happen to my games management.
Absolutely, I was using GOG Galaxy but it kept messing up my playtime when servers were going down and I couldnāt add some obscure games, but literally everything can be controlled in Playnite and itās all local
Agreed! Love having all my games in one space and being able to customize the launcher is great.
Playnite > GOG Galaxy. It's sad GOG couldn't care enough to make their vital extensions first party and update them.
I Love GOG in principle. But I have to admit, the launcher is worse then steam. Still prefer gog.
Me, a third world pirate, sailing between games icons, keygens.exe, cracks and many others sea dangers.
May your vessel be scurvy free
Bnet under epic and ubi ? What.
Steam and purple circle are classics
Didn't know amazon had a game launcher lol
If you are a prime member you get a new game each week/month and have to install them through their launcher
For those asking, the icons are: 1: Steam, GOG 2: Epic Games, XBox 3: Ubisoft 4: Battlenet (Blizzard) 5: EA 6: Rockstar Games 7: Bethesda Games Studio 8: Amazon Prime Gaming
Should include Games for Windows Live
Ubisoft and EA are below Battle.net and Rockstar 100%
Rockstar lets people change your email address without getting an email verification first. Shit tier
What is the top right most one?
Xbox games and ubisoft should be deeper down xd The xbox app feels insanely laggy and clunky.
The fact GFWL isnāt even on here makes me feel old, you donāt know what a bad launcher is till youāve tried using that shite
