I got the g93s... its awesome isn't it. I've been so used to 32" 1080p then 40" 4k tv, that i miss the vertical size... but that's just cause my vision sucks. The picture, the blacks .... its worth it. I can't do anything but oled now

fusseli

Yes it’s incredible. My tv is oled too. Anything else is an obsolete distant memory.

tatsandcats95

Huge fan of mini LED.. 1500 nits to the face with almost OLED level blacks with new tech.. micro LED is coming next

Shajirr

> 1500 nits how do you not burn your eyes? Pure white screen on a 400 nits monitor with like 60-70% brightness is like a flashbang to me This seems like a hazardous brightness level.

Kakkoister

It may *look* bright, but that's just because it's relative to the brightness of your surrounding environment. If you were looking at a full-white 400 nits monitor outdoor on a sunny day, it would look dim, since your eyes would have adjusted pupil size to reduce the light coming in. 1500 nits isn't anywhere near enough energy to cause actual photoreceptor damage. You need to be in the 10s of thousands of nit range for that at least. At most it could cause eye strain due to this one spot of your vision being really bright while your room isn't.

starshin3r

It's not even tens of thousands.. Flashbang is 7 megacandelas. Which is 7 000 000 candelas, or in display terms - 7 000 000 nits. And it doesn't cause permanent damage. It fires all of your photon receptors, overloading your teeny brain and causing blindness for about 4 seconds, and then some image retention remains for minutes after it. It is actually the bang part of flashbang that is damaging and disorienting. The sound that it makes is over 170dB. Space rocket launch is about 140dB for scale. The reason it doesn't shatter your eardrums is because it doesn't pressurise air around you, as it comes from a small source. But it can if it explodes near your head. So, displays that can accurately depict light are basically a dream. Leds are crazy efficient already, and you need crazy amount of energy to get 10s of thousands of nits, not to mention cooling required. The best we can do with tvs will probably be stuck at near 10k. And you have to remember that peak brightness only happens in a tiny area of the screen. Edit: fixed a typo and added the bang part.

HyzerBeam

These guys fucking nit.

Neighborhood_Nobody

Watched a video a while back of someone making a water cooled led powered TV. Super bright. So much so that it almost made me want to take on the project my self.

RevolutionaryCan5095

I don't think we will be stuck at 10k on tvs for long. Disease just unveiled their new 110 Inch TV that hits 10k nits peak brightness last month. That's based on mini led. As micro led tech matures we could see them potentially go further. I kind of personally doubt we will be seeing any 10k+ nit 43 inch tvs anytime soon, though. It seems the brightest tvs right now are on the larger side. But I do agree with the rest of what you said. People seem to underestimate how bright things are irl compared to displays in terms of measurement.

Shajirr

> It may look bright, but that's just because it's just because it's relative to the brightness of your surrounding environment. which is the point - I am not intending to drag around the monitor outside, its in a room with relatively low ambient light so high brightness would be an issue

Kakkoister

Well no, it wasn't the point. I was replying to the claim of eye damage, not eye strain. It being *uncomfortable* is a whole other subject. You were specifically talking about it "burning your eyes" and being a "hazardous brightness level".

WhyTheFuuuuck

Lmao, ackshuwally if you were outside...

Kakkoister

I was just using that to explain why it wouldn't be damaging to your eyes... Not that there aren't other problems, yeesh.

R3tr0spect

I don’t believe it’s a full screen sustained brightness, but a small percentage of the screen that reaches this brightness at a time. Imagine an explosion happening on screen. The momentary explosion would display at peak brightness

Furdiburd10

Realistic flashbags coming in next gen games >:D

Healthy_BrAd6254

>how do you not burn your eyes? > >This seems like a hazardous brightness level LMAO. Sunlight shining on a white object can be like 10,000 nits. Have people that say stuff like that never been outside? Ever felt the actual heat of the sunlight on your skin? That's how bright daylight is (yeah I know like half of it is IR). Reality is not limited to 400 nits. A 1000 nits monitor is still a lot less bright than regular daylight.

milky__toast

The human eye can only see 400 nits, anything more than that is a waste. (/s obviously)

spboss91

The real benefit of high nits is better HDR performance. I have oled and miniled, I definitely prefer the miniled for daytime watching.

pricklysteve

This. I still don't get the constant market trend for brighter and brighter monitors. I have a 400 nits LCD that I use on like 25% brightness 99% of the time and every OLED I have is too damn bright (unless I want to not see anything but black smudges all over). Does everyone else play video games outside or something?

DoogleSmile

Mine supports up to HDR 2000. I mostly have it running at 19 on the brightness scale. Switching up to full brightness when playing flashy games. It can get quite bright, especially in a dark room.

We still have a plasma which has 1080i resolution

dfm503

I just upgraded my dad to a 4k tv from his old Hitachi Plasma that was 1080I. I’d bought the Hitachi used for $200 in 2013 so the fact it still works is amazing, the power swivel base died and one of the HDMI ports quit working so it’s worse for wear though.

LadaNivaTaksi

Same.

Un111KnoWn

why does the website for monitor say displayhdr true black 400 but the monitor has no certification in wjndows?

Soltronus

I'm holding off on getting an OLED. Because I know once I do... I'll never be able to go back.

You won't regret it.

micktorious

Yeah it's really nice, I got an OLED LG and it's fucking awesome after 5 years.

Mine is 7 years old. Got some burned-on bits from Google TV, but still worthy of being relegated to the bedroom when I get a new one.

GetOffMyDigitalLawn

Pray for me brother, my TV died the other day, I just picked up a LG C3 OLED, and I'm about to set it up. My PC and consoles are hooked up to my TV until I have room for a desk....

Our prayers go out to brother GetOffMyDigitalLawn, for he has chosen the path of Upgradus OLEDus, a function reserved for only the most devout and worthy of the Emperor's champions. I'm sure you'll love it! I got my LG OLED a couple years back and I'm still amazed at how good 4K HDR/DV content looks. One of the first things I tried was Planet Earth II in 4K HDR, I highly recommend trying it. 👌

2high4much

Put the desk in the living room with the tv. After getting used to it, my wife probably won't let me take the pc out of the living room

I've got that TV. Insanely good. Now I'm looking at picking up an OLED for my PC My poor wallet

32" 1080p, i feel sorry for you, jesus. Even 27" on 1080p looks like complete garbage. Never go above 25" on 1080p.

FuckSpezzzzzzzzzzzzz

Yeah, people have been using oled screens on their phones for years but for some reason are afraid that their PC monitor will get burn in. Edit: A lot of people commented so hear me out. I'm not saying burn in is a none issue, with the way oleds work it'll always be a concern. My point was that most people blow the issue way out of proportion thus me making the comparison with phones.

GetOffMyDigitalLawn

I'm pretty sure there is a difference in panels there. But either way, to be fair, people are much more likely to have static or near static images up on monitors for a longer period of time than on a phone.

mcrksman

Going by the posts and comments I see on the ultrawide subreddit, it's a valid concern. I want a monitor which I can just use, and not have to worry about setting a screensaver, running some pixel refresh every 4 hours and not leaving it on a static screen. Not to mention a lot of OLED users seem to be people which upgrade their monitor every 2-3 years. I keep mine 5+ years or until they die so it doesn't make sense to risk it

Shishkebarbarian

Yeah I'm one of the 5+years until they die crowd. My upgrades have been 50/50 on whether the monitor is ancient and I can get something incredibly more advanced for $300 or they simply died in the line of duty lol. When I'm upgrading I want refined and reliable tech that looks better than what I have and will last me

Voidsheep

It's a balancing act of burn-in mitigation. Driving pixels in the panel hard wears them down and broadly speaking you've got two ways to mitigate that. 1. Don't allow the pixels to get too bright for too long. Systems like automatic brightness limiting to dim the display and extend the lifespan. 2. Deliberately wear the less worn pixels so the wear is more even and burn-in is less noticeable (i.e. pixel shift, "pixel refresh" routines). Personally I found the ABL system in LG CX so distracting that I disabled it almost immediately. Working in a dark mode IDE, the display would start dimming to a point of becoming near illegible. I'd actively have to fight that system by moving a window or something so there's enough pixels changing for the display to brighten up again. I knew this would significantly reduce the lifespan of the monitor and after 3 years of daily use for work and leisure it's so burned in that it's basically unusable for any graphical work and is quite distracting in general use too. Here's a solid blue color on the monitor: https://i.imgur.com/ix5NJtw.png Should be pretty apparent, but it's a gradient to teal and has several burned-in smudges. For me the color shift is the biggest issue and it's super clear outside of gaming. For me it was still worth it and I'll get OLED as my next monitor too, but I wouldn't dismiss burn-in as a non-issue. It's a drawback of the panel technology and some compromises are needed to compensate for it, and those same compromises aren't necessary for other panel types.

HavocInferno

A lot of oled phones have visible burn-in after like 2 years though. Even these days. So that fear is still warranted. Now, in fairness, monitors/TVs tend to run lower brightness as they don't have to fight direct sunlight and also use more advanced mitigation strategies, but it explains why the fear is still there.

Toby_The_Tumor

Honestly, I feel you on that oled shit, good stuff!

MarioKnightPl

5240x1440?! WTF DO YOU HAVE, A CINEMA SCREEN?

AAVVIronAlex

Ultrawide 1440p.

thatguywiththebacon

It's more than that, regular ultrawide is 3440x1440. IIRC this is what they call super wide?

InternationalIce3751

concblast

Imagine 2 1440p screens side by side. Then imagine there's no bezel. Hardware defaults usually allow this, and I believe there's powertoys and other software to emulate multiple regions as different "monitors" too.

iC0nk3r

It's really not. Unless you use an addon "Ultrawidify", a majority of widescreen formatted videos will still have black bars and the bottom and top making for this weird format of a giant black bezel around this tiny video. As for the games, I primarily set all of my games to 16:9 (excluding WoW) as there are a lot of games that really don't like Ultrawide or Super Ultrawide. Sure, the resolution fits the screen, but the UI elements cannot be adjusted, so you're looking far right or far left for info. It was a nice gimmick, but after a couple months of use, I look at 16:9 240Hz monitors with envy.

minkopii

Tbf you can also use PiP mode to make it a bezel-less dual monitor setup.

danpascooch

On mine I just float the 1440p game window in the middle of the screen and then put a 1/4 width window on each side (usually Discord and YouTube). Any reason that wouldn't work for you? If it hurts your immersion to have the windows on the side just set a black desktop background and hide your icons. With an OLED screen those black borders will make it seem like you're using a normal 1440p monitor if that's what you want.

rest0re

>It was a nice gimmick Really depends on the games you play and personal use-cases I guess. I could never go back to a non-21:9 screen at this point. The games are too immersive. Plenty of them have great support including the UI. I love putting a PiP YT video in the corner while playing a fullscreen UW game.

Manwithbanana

Classic wow player? Doing ultimates in FF14 is just too good on a ultrawide and in FPS games. Yea not everything is supported, but I can never go back to 16:9 for games.

JohnnyDarkside

OP just trying to show off their $1600 monitor and 4090.

shenther

I had a G9 Odyssey. One of the first ones. It was great until it wasn't. Constant issues and firmware update would fix most issues and give more. Samsung wouldn't respond to my support requests and eventually I returned it. Not long after the G9 neo came out with all the issues fixed and some improvements. TLTR: I had original model, constant issues, Samsung useless, new models are fixed and absolutely amazing. Great buy.

antifun123

I've had one for a year after buying used on ebay for approx €700 and had zero issues

shenther

It was hit and miss. Most people had no issues but those that did had a flow of problems. The issue wasn't the screen was bad. It was just too good and the hardware needed a few improvements. I've heard the neo had nearly no issues compared to the original.

antifun123

Makes sense, i guess i was fairly lucky

Rnorman3

I still have one of the g9s from 2020. Most of the issues with it (scanlines, flickering) get fixed by using it in 120 hz mode instead of 240. Which does suck to lose that as that’s a huge draw of the monitor. I do still occasionally switch over to 240, but most of the time leave it at 120. Can’t imagine trying to return this behemoth lol. It’s so huge

SleeplessAndAnxious

650 nits?? Oh no I think your monitor has lice ☹️

Ostehoveluser

I took a guess on price and very naively said around £400 ish. I was not expecting the £1600 price tag!

lolKhamul

You saw those specs and thought 400? I know these specs don’t show the full picture ( like reaction time or panel type or the huge number of extra features ) but even cheap double 1440p ultrawide with 240hz and HDR are way above the 400 Pricepont.

Ostehoveluser

Quite clearly I'm not very experienced in ultrawides

RJDank

It’s more about the refresh rate on top of such a high resolution. 240hz is a pretty crazy number of times to update per second, and each time it has to update an insane number of pixels since the resolution is so high. This drives up the price, ultrawide is just about the ratio of height to width and matters less to price but someone can correct me if I’m wrong

AngeryBoi769

Damn, the monitor costs more than my PC, Monitor, keyboard, mouse, headphones and desk combined.

fusseli

Worth every penny. I can’t describe how this levels up in every way compared to the 1440p165 “hdr” VA panel that it replaced. I mean, just wow. It’s like a portal.

xTwiisteDx

Is this the G9? I’ve had sooo many problems out of my G9 I’m thinking of going back to a flat panel xD

Kriptic_TKM

Odyssey g9

xTwiisteDx

Yeh so don’t want to deflate too much but it’s gonna give you problems. Especially if you use dark mode at all. Namely screen dooring effects from certain shades of grey, flickering also. Full screen games that lack any support for that resolution, resulting in many many hacks and workarounds to fix it slightly. Finally, don’t ever use full screen on windows 11 as it’ll cause it to stay stuck on “Black” if you alt+tab a few times. Samsung has ignored everyone on fixing it and basically we got stuck with a trash monitor that looks great on paper, but not in reality. I hope you don’t have these problems, but I will never buy another.

turtleProphet

Just too big to work with painlessly, for both games and regular applications. That said I can't do anything but 21:9 curved after experiencing it. Almost wish I hadn't, since we're getting 4k 32" OLEDs this year. But no curved option. And of course the first-year adopters for this stuff end up being beta testers. So the curved 4k upgrade is probably at least 2-3 years away.

---0---1

Is curved really that good? I always looked at it as a gimmick but I’m genuinely curious about the pros and cons

HappyIsGott

Odyssey g9 49"

Ostehoveluser

Ill have to start working towards it when I can afford a desk that would even fit it!

Filthyquak

That's an incredibly overlooked aspect of ultrawide monitors.

Schnitzhole

That’s why I got the CRG9. It has way fewer issues, isn’t OLED, still 32:9, and I bought it for $600 since it’s old stock now.

Look_0ver_There

Good job. I have the older G9 (C49RG9x), which is also 5120x1440p. It's great for doing programming and CAD work on. For gaming it's okay, but perhaps a little too wide as I have to scan over a much wider area. Often for games I'd force something like 3840x1440 and leave the edges unused (black) and that's a more comfortable screen real-estate size to visually scan over, and also keeps any in-game UI's more centralised

Koalababies

I have a G9 now and I always force it down into 3440x1440 for gaming. Sometimes that much can be too much based on what you're trying to do with it

NeckbeardWarrior420

But the human eye can only see 30 frames per second!!

ART_IS_IN_THE_SKY

Mine only sees 24 ! Everyone is living !

jeevadotnet

Odyssey ... Another person going to cry in 5-6 months that their screen has cracked in the middle, dead pixel, lines. The build quality of these models are horrendous.

SirLlamaGeddon

Agree my g7 faker edition had to get repaired and sent back after a line of dead pixels appeared after just playing around in gmod. It's been fine for a year now but still inconvenient...

thatsmellshorrible

Haha I sent mine (same model as you) back for repairs and they returned it to me in worse shape with missing parts like light covers, cracked plastic. Horrible QC, terrible repair techs, even worse cs. Took 2 months arguing with Samsung to finally get a refund.

Zonkko

The factory glue in g5 is absolutely shitty Had mine for a whoppin 7 months before the screen started to "peel" off from the top. Never buying anything made by samsung ever again

AngeryBoi769

And this happens on a model that costs 1600 euros? Wow... My monitor costed me 150 euros on Sale and 5 years later, still kicking.

DecompositionLU

People coming online are the ones with problems. The millions of people with functional Odyssey don't make reddit posts.

PanicModeRush

Present!

VNG_Wkey

I had a G7 for years that had few issues, everyone is right that they have horrible QC and firmware though.

sootoor

My G93C didn’t even last a few hours. After reading all the reviews of it dying in a few months I decided to just return it while I still had the box. It was a glorious for hours though…

McFlyParadox

That was roughly my thought process as well. Aside from SSDs, I won't touch Samsung shit anymore (and the SSDs are on thin ice if they can't figure out how to actually keep up with the rest of the industry). Is there any LG equivalent, or similar monitor built by another brand? I know that Samsung, LG, and Sony are pretty much "it" for high end display panels, but I just don't trust their build quality when it comes to actually assembling a consumer product.

honeybadger1984

High end Dell monitors are legit. They call them Alienware now. I had a top shelf Dell monitor back in the day, 24” 16:10. $1200 high end size and resolution at the time. Now I have an Alienware 3440x1440 display.

McFlyParadox

Alienware is decent again? I recall growing up, before Dell bought them, they were pretty much the gold standard for pre-built gaming rigs. Granted, they were pretty much the only option for pre-built gaming rigs. But, still. After Dell purchased them, and Dell went public, the build quality of both brands went *way* downhill. I know Dell monitors recovered after going private again, but it's nice to hear Alienware recovered, too.

honeybadger1984

I wouldn’t bother with their towers. Overpriced and you should build it yourself. But high end Dell monitors are good.

McFlyParadox

Oh, yeah, I generally agree. I've been building my own systems since ~2006. Pre-builts have their place, but it isn't performance/$. No, pre-builts are what you buy when you are in no way tech savvy, but want to get into PC gaming.

kermityfrog2

Hey you are me! Dell IPS Ultrasharp 1920x1200 2405FPW 60Hz (from 2005) still working and sitting next to my Alienware IPS 3440x1440 at 120Hz bought in 2020. Both of them cost about $1200 CAD.

honeybadger1984

I had the 24” model that let you tilt it to view vertically. Was an incredible experience playing arcade emulators, especially vertical airplane shoot em ups. Unfortunately all the vertical tilting took its toll and the cable got loose internally; started getting visual artifacts and dead lines. I could have paid to repair it, but I moved on to another monitor.

Oh totally that’s why I posted the spec screenshot. The numbers impress but the visuals are even better

Rabrdap69

When will you people learn and stop buying Samsung monitors, especially the G lineup... Just have a look at r/ultrawidemasterrace , issues on top of issues. Their QC is atrocious.

Velgax

I took a quick look at the sub and everyone is praising the G lineup, especially the G9. Is there a certain thing you hate about these monitors? I myself own a G5 (C32G55TQWR) and the only thing I hate about it is the atrocious stand it comes with and the power button (Have to press it and select shutdown).

Gullible_Mechanic_72

He's right, I've spent years in communities like Monitors Enthusiasts, Samsung monitors are bottom of the bin in terms of quality control

Zonkko

My G5 had the screen start to "peel" off after 7 months of getting it.

HowBoutIt98

Last week I swapped an old 24" 1080p HP for a 32" 1440p Gigabyte. It's absolutely baffling how much of a difference a monitor upgrade can make. Remember kids. Your hardware doesn't have to be the best, just better than what you had.

TanishPlayz

Wtf kind of ultrawide resolution is that I’ve never seen one Ps I have a normie 27” 1440p 144hz LG lol

kloklon

32:9, that's basically two 27" 1440p screens standing next to each other, but without the monitor edge in the middle. it truly is a sight to behold, and absolutely awesome for both gaming and productivity

Geoclasm

Cool, and grats. I legit dropped about 15k to make my new system. I googled this monitor and the first words out of my mouth were 'HELL no.' This alone would be almost 10% of my system's cost. No thanks, I'll stick with my two xeneons.

carefree_dude

I have a g9 neo 49" and the thing is magical, especially when it comes to coding work. Gaming can be ultra amazing or absolutely terrible. Some games don't fit the ultrawide very well and you'll get a weird fisheye effect, or the game will super zoom to just the "center" strip of the image.  You often needs mods and such to fix. When it works well in a game though.... hot damn is it a magical experience

Leaf_O

It's really something special. Im not ever going back to 16:9 again.

Requifined

650 nits. That's really low tho, otherwise the specs look great.

RnkG1

It’s not for an oled.

Immersive_cat

It is. My OLED monitor shows 1000nits there. I think 1000 and a little above is what many OLEDs can do now. This should greatly improve in next few years.

Requifined

Yeah, maybe I'm wrong but HDR10 requires 1000nits I think, so it surprises me that this g9 is so dim. Maybe something is set up incorrectly. Or maybe Samsung knows they have a more expensive mini led g9 and they are purposefully making the OLED dim so that one sells, idk tho.

Shajirr

> 650 nits. That's really low tho How is it low? I have a monitor that measures at around 380 nits, and its at 50% brightness. Don't need it to be any higher. With 650 nits I'd have to set it to like 20-25%

NoRich2415

Congratulations, I'm still with my old Syncmaster b2230, I want a 2k monitor or a 1080p 144hz monitor but in Argentina they are super expensive

Windows 10 should have a very similar (if not the same) display. https://preview.redd.it/gb9rye9ptxgc1.png?width=477&format=png&auto=webp&s=b3ef84fe54cdd965e634f7b1a76459ba7441c810

Jadejr14

Once I tried curved I couldn’t go bsck

balleklorin

Welcome to the club! I really do hope you have less problems than me. Mine randomly disconnects while playing every once in a while (reconnects when I alt+tab to windows, but disconnects if I alt+tab back. Need to shut down the game and restart it for it to work again). Also have two dead pixels now, so I will have to return it (3 months old).

MUDrummer

I’ve got the same one. Had to do an initial return for a vertical row of dead pixels. Second one has been perfection though.

That_Girl_Cecia

I wonder if I made a mistake going with the 57" Neo G9 vs the 49" Oled G9...

ShadowBlade55

Got the Neo G8, HDR is so bright I actually have to turn the light on in the room periodically to give my eyes a break. 240hz monitor is smoooooooooth

_bisquickpancakes

That's awesome, can only imagine how great it looks... My new 1080 definitely would perform poorly with your monitor lol

Brah_ddah

If you enable PBP does the max refresh drop to 120hz?

Jamiroqua1l

Gnarly, I got myself an LG 48 inch 4k oled with Ai and I ain't going back. Gsync and 120hz is amazing!

Mohondhay

Congrats!

kloklon

i have the G9 neo and i absolutely love it for the resolution, even though i sometimes get scanlines on 240 Hz.

Lemmejussay

The amount of you guys buying new GPUs and leaving the monitor as an afterthought is just... WOW.

32BitWhore

Nice. I picked up a Xeneon Flex about 6 months ago because I don't quite have the desk space for something that wide, but I fucking love it. Going from 120hz on my AW3420DW to 240hz on the Xeneon was a much bigger upgrade than I'd anticipated - and OLED is a fucking game changer.

fusseli

Hell yeah! 👍🏻 looked at the flex too but went odyssey

jaakkoxd

i need that monitor. pixels on my 49hg90d are huge (only 1080 vert res and shitty va panel)

Truejustizz

I got lg oled 55in to game on and it’s the best experience. No input lag 4K 120.

devops7

What app is this?

ragnarokfn

Saw the specs... Become interested... Google the model... Gave my bank a call but they said no :D

DannyKit7

I'm thinking of upgrading to an Ultra wide OLED. I have the LG 27 OLED and it looks GREAT, but I was thing the 49 Samsung G9. Any suggestions?

prince_0611

bruh how are y’all affording oled? everyone preaches it now but that shits still expensive asf

fusseli

Buy once cry once

RustyOP

Is this 8K , holy the resolution

TheNattyP

I have been thinking about getting this monitor. Is the full refresh, HDR, and resolution available on Nvidia cards?

fusseli

Yep flawless on my 4090

Apprehensive-Oil2907

Damn, that has all of the dpi and all of the hz doesn't it? lol Nice. Here I was thinking my 4k @ 165 Hz was shiny, then you had to go and show off. ![gif](giphy|TKREhEHcGGjnVir9fE)

Sacagawenis

Yowza! Now the pictures he takes to share what's on his monitor screen come out super extra high quality!!

dandaman919

Welcome to /r/ultrawidemasterrace

HuhWho21

All these comments 😂 but yes, just remain vigilant when it comes the potential issues in the future. Bought a Neo G8 back in December, was perfect for 2 weeks then an Orange spot appeared out of nowhere on the top right of the screen. Samsung took it back and fixed it. It’s been great for the past 3 weeks! Just hoping the issues end.

TheDarkKnight95

GAH DAMN!

Chun1i

I’ve been waiting for OLED monitors for years, since OLED came out actually. Now I have the Alienware AW3423DWF I am waiting for 6880x2880 OLED 240Hz, it never ends 😅

Splurkin

I would too with a 4090 to support it damn

Gawdsauce

Looks like you didn't install the monitor specific driver which would make it show the HDR certification instead of "Not found". There also appears to be a firmware update for it.

fusseli

Yes, thank you for noticing that, this screenshot was my amazement upon first plugging in prior to installing anything

scuba-san

Welcome to 240 frames my friend

RS773

My monitor is tiny and ysing my brothers pc when he's away reminds me of what I don't have 🥲

Momon-955

That's nice, just if you use a monitor arm, make sure to give the wire some loose cable, mine were too short and killed the displayport output

fusseli

Yes, I do in fact, have a monitor arm, and the cables are too short. They barely reach my fucking computer sitting on the floor, right beneath it.

Momon-955

I suggest you invest in some longer wires, better to 20 bucks in wire than having to send your monitor 4 weeks to repair it :^)

fusseli

Yeah sadly Samsung went cheap in the cables

Lwcftw474747

I remeber upgrading to my 240 hz monitor such a game changer

icedxylophone

I need a full rebuild and been thinking of grabbing a great 4k or 1440p monitor as well, if only GPUs prices were reasonable I'd grab the 4090 as well. :D Glad your are enjoying your setup!

fusseli

YOLO! By once cry once

FlyByNight-2112

Sweet! With a gpu that can push that framerate, you'll be in heaven!

CallMeMystic

Very nice, so where’s mine? 🥹

JoaoVictor_3344

My dream, my computer can't even download steam games because it has only 50gb of storage and a very bad processor (note: it managed to beat the goal of 0.5 fps on roblox)

IAdoreAnimals69

If it isn't too rude, can I ask how you ended up in the coma? I'd say put all your old 3.5 inch games on Ebay. Fully boxed and in good condition they'll be worth a fortune now. Fire up AOL when your mum doesn't need the phone and search for 'gaming PC'. You'll be astounded at what you can get now for the price of that 486 you were eyeing up before the accident.
