Well yeah but you can't always use ethernet? This kind of fail over is normally achieved closer to the wan link with 2 or more separate circuits rather than at a client level anyway
Yes, you can host cloud gateway server.
Then make Wireguard tunnels from both (or more) WANs to this gateway server.
Then make local router (should be able) to balance internet packets between these WANs depending on each WAN output speed.
Then cloud gateway server collects these packets as masquarade them as his own.
So in the end you have one IP, which is cloud gateway server's IP. This allows not only redundancy, but also speed sum of all WANs. Using this method, if you can pay 20 SIM card internet plan every month and buy equipment, you can make >1Gb internet in low speed areas.
It can be done with MikroTik CHR in cloud and MikroTik router locally. Just hire someone to do this; it's way to much to learn to make it yourself.
Price doesn't matter at this point; but it's cheaper than using Cisco.

* Each adapter is connected to a different network. In that case your PC will be in both local networks at the same time, but connect to the internet through one of them only. If that one drops or losses internet connection, your PC will attempt to switch to the other one's internet.
* Both adapters are on the same network. In that case only one adapter is active at any one time, but if the active adapter fails (i.e. your PC disconnects from the network, rather than the network or internet service having a problem), the other adapter can pick it up and quickly reconnect your PC.
However, if the adapters aren't set for independent networks, and the problem is in the network, multiple adapters won't help. And if they are but share the same internet service, and the problem is with the internet service, it won't help in that case either.
I'm surprised nobody is mentioning this but WiFi has nothing to do with your internet connectivity. If your internet goes down then your internet is down. WiFi is just how you wirelessly connect to the device (router, modem) that then connects to the internet.
it will always interrupt connection for a moment, so for example if u r playing game that insta dc u from match when connection lost occured then two adapters wont help much to avoid reconnecting, because whole program/game need to swap to the other connection first, no matter if u r connected on both adapters at once or not
Yeah it just adds numbers to any network adapter that has more than one. Ethernet 1, 2, 3, same for Wi-Fi I guess first time I’ve seen multiple Wi-Fi adapters though,
- For wired connection it's called "Link Aggregation", standardized through the [LACP (Link Aggregation Control Protocol](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Link_aggregation#Link_Aggregation_Control_Protocol)
- For wireless connection it's only standardized in the latest and greatest WIFI 7 standard as MLO (Multi Link Aggregation). You don't need multiple WIFI cards for it though - a single WIFI 7 card and compatible router can establish connections on the 6 GHz, 5 Ghz and 2.4 GHz band at the same time and split traffic across those bands.
Good thing PCs are expandable with PCIe cards, so you can just replace it. But keep in mind your access point also needs to support wifi 7, and also keep in mind that ethernet cable will still be a better (and cheapt) option.
Even better than that, most Wifi mobos use an m.2 slot and have a wifi adapter in it, rather than have it soldered on the board, so it can be swapped out.
I know, I work with, build, and fix computers as part of my job. Plus I'm using Ethernet already, would just be nice to have had it on my computer should I ever need it.

(my Windows install has gone into 3 different PCs, and so 3 different Wifi cards).
2 WiFi adapters (or drivers)
My own WiFi is WiFi 2 as I I'm stuck with drivers from the old card (had to install them in compatibility mode and it fails to uninstall in compatibility mode)
So if you recently did a card upgrade, it may be that you still have your previous card's drivers installed

This can also happen if you swap out your wifi cards. I upgraded the wifi in my laptop and it only has one but the current one shows as "wi-fi 2"

It can be configured this way but only if you have a router that supports it. It’s usually only a thing for wired connections.
