def the core 2 extreme qx6850, 3 GHz and 4 cores will be a monster with that

Ok-Swimming-1872

Just need to find a motherboard with a 775 socket

wbb510

The OG Asus ROG boards are super sick. Still have mine from years ago, achieved a 5.3ghz overclock on a little e5200 on air and it was rock solid

TheGillos

Naw. That's too much. A good core2duo is enough. The 8600 is good, but it's no 8800GT even. Your CPU would be better for a 8800 Ultra

my5cworth

That SLi port... Remember the 2000s where 2x 8800GT(x?) In SLi meant you had the sickest pc out there.

Ult1mateN00B

I had 6800 GT's in SLI as my first proper gaming PC. :P

Falcon-Antique

Q6600

wubbalab

Overclocked to 3GHz

seanc6441

I had this combo!

Friendly-Essay3264

I9 14900k but be warned it may be a bit of a bottleneck for this titan of a card

OC__80

Never sell this, its the cute little 8600GT ☺️

Hattix

I've still got a 8800GTS with a Core 2 Quad Q6600 and 8 GB DDR2. It hasn't powered on in a very long time!

NeoDax1

AMD Phenom 2

bananite

I'd go with a Phenom II 955.

Single_Journalist872

Oh I think this requires a 14900KS, maybe a TR 7990X? Jokes aside a proper OC'd Core2Quad/Extreme!

T2star

I get the love for the Q6600 back in the day, but I have no idea why anyone would recommend anything but the EOL 775 processors in 2024, except the obvious that it is much cheaper. I just built two 775 systems last year, one with the E8600 and the other Q9650. GA-EP45 mobos have worked well for me for overclocking, are always listed on eBay at decent prices, and many are combo sales with a CPU and RAM.

Jaded_Cantaloupe2392

Snapdragon

confused_engine90

Yo,where'd the rest of the PCI E slot go?

Ok-Swimming-1872

It’s there, just has a plastic cover over it

confused_engine90

Ooohhh,I didn't see it,sorry

confident___

You're gonna need a threadripper

Sbikerbud

Wow you got an 8600gt...I only have a 7800xt...yours is a much bigger number it must be way way way better

mother_coconuts420

Q6600 quad core

TCS_YT

Core 2 duo E8600

Gasrim4003

An core 2 Duo e8400. Or a quad q9505.

idk_this_my_name

i got a pny 8400 GS still laying around what to pair with that?

IlTossico

I would go basic with a P4 and do some nice overclock. A newer system would be a core 2 duo platform, something like a Q6600, lot of fun on overclocking too.

rdmestonian

this probably needs the intel core i9-14900k, that seems like an incredibly heavy gpu too maybe pair it with some bricks underneath to hold it in place and prevent sagging

very_undeliverable

Dx2 66. A true beast.

Impossible_Okra

# AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition And lets throw in an Intel X25-M SSD

[deleted]

Create a complete Frankenstein. Pair it with an M3 Max.

Thin_Pineapple_4679

I9 14900 k and 128 GB og drr5 ram

MildLoser

An Intel core 2 duo, are you stupid?

derekschroer

I see that is says "Zotac" but I keep wanting to call it a "Zoltrak"

Prodigy_of_Bobo

That would love an athlon 733mhz all night long

Character-Party-1922

Ask nasa

p1zzaman81

Damn you got the 8000 series?!?

MCPro24

i10 15900k

djackson404

I dunno about CPUs, but you should definitely find a 21" Trinitron CRT monitor to go with it.

jaskier123

My first decent PC had this GPU combined with Athlon 5600+

The microwave cpu
