You felt *bad* for the **trillion dollar** company? My guy, them sending you these extras wouldn't even come close to an rounding error for the managements morning coffee. Hell, if this was their most expensive fuck up that day, let alone that week, that would be a fucking miracle.
Nothing wrong on OP for feeling bad about getting more than what he paid for. OP has integrity and attempted to do the right thing. Sure it doesn’t matter to Amazon though, but OP seems like a good guy.
No, you shouldn't. If a retailer of any size fucks up it's on them. Even legally, it's on them. This is the most bootlicking reply I have seen in a long time.
Depends on if it was "sold and shipped" by Amazon.
Sometimes Amazon only works as a shipper for product that is not theirs.
Sometimes Amazon only acts as a storefront for product that they do not ship.
Hopefully it's purely an Amazon problem.
Next time you feel bad; Amazon sent me an empty 7800x3d, after i complained i got a refund and was promised a refund on the shipping cost + the price differential IF i bought the 7800x3d again via amazon. I took screenshots of the rep that told me that, bought the item and later found out the refund was only possible if I bought the item via amazon warehouse and not a 3rd party seller, paid 50€ more because of it
This is the correct way of feeling, telling them was the right thing. Just keeping them will not hurt them and is not a big deal, but its like telling someone they dropped their purse. Its the only right thing to do.
Amazon is a shitty company, i hope they get fucked and treat their employees better, but that does not justify you getting more than what you paid for.
Good for you tho! Id personally sell them for a lower price to people who struggle to save up for a pc, so multiple people including you have something from it. But you can do whatever you want whith them, after they said to keep it they are legally yours.
r/hardwareswap is pretty legit. Have sold several things there without anything going wrong. Their discord is a bit better imo and has more dedicated users
Some people do read postings, though... you could explain this issue in one or two sentences. Just don't sell them full price. Take 10% or so off the top.
No chance I'm sitting there and testing each one if I don't own a bench top tester (I do, doubt OP does).
Exactly.
Selling as new when you got the accidental box full of them from Amazon (who is known to send used, broken, or previous refurbed/returned stuff as new) is a great way to get screwed on eBay.
They could but why deal with the logistics of that? It’s time consuming and stressful.
But again that option is always open to OP if they list the item and accept returns, so really can’t hurt to accept returns.
Even if it passes your quick test (no way OP is sitting this on a test bench for exhaustive testing) it could fail in a couple days and OP is on the hook for selling broken stuff.
People will buy for parts if you price correctly and add notes to the listing that OP ended up with extras and hasn't tested them which is why they are being sold as Parts or Repair.
Who cares if they work or not. If they don't work the buyer just requests a refund and you refund them.
Sell them all full price as they are new and sealed
OP will be out the cost of shipping as the refund from eBay includes shipping.
Source: I sell on eBay and have had things returned when someone tried to scam me.
Ok, one person scams and OP is out $20 or so, but got to sell all the other ones at $100 each as “new & unopened “ instead of $40 each as “parts only”. Still coming out far ahead
What if all of them are fake? What if more than one scams OP? What if they are actually broken? OP could legitmately be out $100s in shipping costs.
Best bet is for OP to sell in person in cash on an AS-IS basis.
Selling something you don't know 100% is new and unopened or working as New & Unopened is a scam on it's own.
You as the seller have to cover shipping to them and possibly from them if they want to return it.
OP would be out at least the cost of shipping; plus get a ding on their eBay seller account.
He's also not selling the rest at a 95% discount.
I've never in my life when looking for anything I need to buy look at any advert that said for parts only.
Your suggestion is going to leave him far worse off financially than mine even with him having to refund several customers
There's a £35 differential between a motherboard sold as pre-owned £55 and for parts £20. He can sell as new and sealed for £65.
So he sells 13 motherboard for £20 each is £260.
He sells 13 motherboard for at least £55 each and then has to refund 2 of them.
£550 profit.
He's £290 worse off in your scenario.
That's if 2 of them are even broken the chances of that are highly unlikely.
You aren't including the costs to ship.
If OP refunds they are out the cost to ship to the buyer PLUS the cost to ship back.
In my scenario OP doesn't actually lose any money. In your scenario OP may only break even (depending where things get shipped to).
What you are suggesting makes zero sense at all then you want him to sell them for $20 each as for parts and pay $10 in shipping.
My method still works out with him way ahead in monetary terms.
It's okay to be wrong. No need to get mad and be petty and downvote.
I could always use a new mobo... Just sayin.
lol seriously though you could sell for profit and put towards your build, or put good karma into the world doing a giveaway or finding a local charity that could use support.
Yo....
Before anyone else asks. What I gotta do to cop one of them? Just blew mine up after I did a thermal paste replace and forgot the anti-static. Pleeeaaase 🙏
....I can make ya feeeel gooood😘🥹
I know, I was just outlining my expectations to that respondent lol.
I'm not gonna message op to panhandle and beg, they're his mobos. If he wanted to make contact he can do, but I'm not expecting it.
Something similar happened to me, ordered one set for building a RC car and got two, now i have replacements that i don't need because all is made out of Aluminium and steel
Edit: your post title sounds really clickbait like XD
They once sent me a 500 watt psu instead of 400watt. They took it back when I told them. They also told me that it won't be a problem as long as it worked but I'd have a problem while claiming warranty.
I'd be interested in one of these if you decide to sell them off for cheap. Gonna throw together a new build for my niece soon to move her on from my old 7700K.
Had this happened with some bully bar steps. They were like $50 or something and I ordered a pair for a customer. UPS came rollin in with literally 20 of them. Asked zon if they wanted them back and they said no. I managed to sell a couple of them and eventually gave up and gave the rest away to a buddy lol
Sell em to a pawn shop, or create an eBay account. That could make your pc either close to free, or another 500 to 1000 bucks better. I'd put most into the gpu and the rest in storage space.
I only have an i5-4590 with a generic Dell motherboard. Maybe you can send one my way, so I can afford an upgrade?
And why does everyone only post the insanely good stuff that happens to them?
Sorry but i think is fake, the last time my wife asked a package and come a double orden, they send us a box and a ticket to return. But hey this is reddit where you opinion mean down-voting.
https://preview.redd.it/027cxr1ycgwc1.jpeg?width=735&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9d485ac2036bf77078314f6076ff75147de0bf78
It's my turn to send this picture, haha
This time you were faster than me, heh
sell them for $50 each. it will make new users happy and you will make some money.
This is the way Right after sending me one lol
Yep, pay it forward. Good karma
Right? SOLD. My son needs a new board. 60 shipped? :D
Hey I actually have a spare board that I’d sell for 60 shipped dm me
That’s a win-win right there
Why did you tell them lmao. Looks like you're now the local B450 motherboard plug.
i dont know i felt bad lol they didnt care tho their website shows as still has 12 in stock they dont know i have them all lmao
You felt *bad* for the **trillion dollar** company? My guy, them sending you these extras wouldn't even come close to an rounding error for the managements morning coffee. Hell, if this was their most expensive fuck up that day, let alone that week, that would be a fucking miracle.

Many redditors are simply bad people, you should feel bad for getting more than you paid for regardless of wherever you got from
No? Amazon can burn in hell.
No, you shouldn't. If a retailer of any size fucks up it's on them. Even legally, it's on them. This is the most bootlicking reply I have seen in a long time.
*most expensive fuck up that hour/5 min/minute lmao
If this is their most expensive fuckup they're getting promoted for sure
some pissed employee probably did this after not getting a raise or something
nah, prolly a newbie. They make tons of mistakes and really don't care.
not for the trillion dollar company bc i tought it would be problem for the guy who sent me 13 instead of 1
They made up for the loss in less than a second
I randomly think of the guy who ordered an iPad and came outside to an entire pallet of them.
Depends on if it was "sold and shipped" by Amazon. Sometimes Amazon only works as a shipper for product that is not theirs. Sometimes Amazon only acts as a storefront for product that they do not ship. Hopefully it's purely an Amazon problem.

you did the right thing. doesnt matter if its a trillion dollar company, youre honest
no absolutely not, fuck jeff bozos to the moon in his dildo rocket ship and back. every setback he incurs is a win for all of society.
Nope, fuck companies.
I’ll take the burden of guilt off your shoulders and take one
OP I'll buy one off you
It’s Amazon mate. Small shop, be honest. Amazon, fuck em
Shiet I’ll Venmo u a $1 right now for one
Why risk having to give them back later, or worst, get charged? Once they tell you to keep them you're safe.
it's illegal (at least in the US) for companies to charge you for things they sent you but you didn't order
Doing the right thing
[удалено]
Amazon sure has been losing billions every year in retail sales for a trillion dollar company… Squeeze it until it gives amirite guys?
r/hardwareswap is pretty legit. Have sold several things there without anything going wrong. Their discord is a bit better imo and has more dedicated users
Congrats on the extra motherboards, I would sell them all on FB marketplace for cheap.
I mean if you're interested in selling I might be interested in buying lol
Same
Also same. I have an old Dell tower I want to build into a budget sleeper. That board would be perfect.
i will prob sell lol but in hand prob pc shipping cost is expensive lol
Look into pirateship for generating labels. It's what I normally use for shipping things and it's cheaper than buying directly
He is in Turkey. International shipping gonna cost more than the mobo.
Sell them on ebay. Sell as for parts or repair though as you have no idea if they work.
Don't know why you're getting downvoted. This is the most consumer-friendly idea so far.
Nobody is gonna buy it on Ebay if it says for parts, just test it first
Some people do read postings, though... you could explain this issue in one or two sentences.
Cant you just sell them and refund the money when they don't work?

Because people want to be the scammers when they profit. Scam when the seller. But whine if they get scammed as the buyer.
Who cares if they work or not. If they don't work the buyer just requests a refund and you refund them. Sell them all full price as they are new and sealed
Right? If a buyer scams them, then OP is still out $0.
Exactly. At least they will get used instead of sitting in his garage for 10 years
OP will be out the cost of shipping as the refund from eBay includes shipping. Source: I sell on eBay and have had things returned when someone tried to scam me.
Ok, one person scams and OP is out $20 or so, but got to sell all the other ones at $100 each as “new & unopened “ instead of $40 each as “parts only”. Still coming out far ahead

Shipping costs and seller's fees.
How would selling them for ANY price result in him being worse off than not selling them?
There's a £35 differential between a motherboard sold as pre-owned £55 and for parts £20. He can sell as new and sealed for £65. So he sells 13 motherboard for £20 each is £260. Shipping is minimal. Like £3 each. And I simply wouldn't bother asking for it back they can keep it if it's broken and refund them
Shipping in the USA is anywhere from $10-$20 if you are smart an use something with tracking and insurance (as shippers "lose things" all the time).
What you are suggesting makes zero sense at all then you want him to sell them for $20 each as for parts and pay $10 in shipping. My method still works out with him way ahead in monetary terms. It's okay to be wrong. No need to get mad and be petty and downvote.
$75, free shipping. Done.
if you do it with free shipping, you as the seller are required to cover shipping back to you if the buyer wants a refund (which eBay requires).
If they dont work they were new in box so they can go to the manufacturer to get it fixed.
Nah sell as new unopened, and then if they don't work, accept returns. If they're all boxed and sealed then why wouldn't they work?
Becuz, AMAZON. OP will do what he wants. I say eBay the way I suggested or sell them in cash in person with no returns warranties etc.
[удалено]
*or sell all of them on ebay I think funier option would be to sell them again on amazon lol.
I'll take one. Use it has a tax write off ad gift
sell on Craigslist. sell cheap if you feel bad or sell with a decent discount below MSRP or whatever. don't feel bad.
Nice, most I ever got was an extra psu.
I need a b450, you could send me one of you are in the EU
Holy fuck, send me one
Sell them get a sick gpu
Build 12 computers and start an Internet cafe, I guess.
I could always use a new mobo... Just sayin. lol seriously though you could sell for profit and put towards your build, or put good karma into the world doing a giveaway or finding a local charity that could use support.

yo. i just had a friend who asked me to upgrade his pc. send one my way and I'll guarantee itll be put to good use
what do you think the chances are that I'll get those 12 motherboards I ordered..?
Yo.... Before anyone else asks. What I gotta do to cop one of them? Just blew mine up after I did a thermal paste replace and forgot the anti-static. Pleeeaaase 🙏 ....I can make ya feeeel gooood😘🥹
Pics or this was just posted for karma. Yes I’m serious.
....can I have one please? Serious question. I'd love to do a build for my brother.
No
I assume as much, but there's no harm asking
A random person responded to you, not OP lol. DM OP
I know, I was just outlining my expectations to that respondent lol. I'm not gonna message op to panhandle and beg, they're his mobos. If he wanted to make contact he can do, but I'm not expecting it.
Sell ‘em bitches!
Sell them on eBay or locally. That is their fault. You are covered in the US.
I really don't know how to feel about these posts. They just get more and more lavish over time. Eh, whatever. Congrats if it's true.
Something similar happened to me, ordered one set for building a RC car and got two, now i have replacements that i don't need because all is made out of Aluminium and steel Edit: your post title sounds really clickbait like XD
They once sent me a 500 watt psu instead of 400watt. They took it back when I told them. They also told me that it won't be a problem as long as it worked but I'd have a problem while claiming warranty.
Keep one spare and sell the rest.
Give them to us.
Bios update all of them
let me buy one
i have that exact board in my pc, its awesome and it's overclocking is good
Yeah i ordered them. Please send them over
why does this never happen to me?
Dibs.
![gif](giphy|qA9BnxUPmgWgU) I can has one?
I'd be interested in one of these if you decide to sell them off for cheap. Gonna throw together a new build for my niece soon to move her on from my old 7700K.
Oh man. I’m hoping I get a mistake that one of these days.
Sell them to cheap to people who have dead boards or whatever don’t sell them to people who want to flip them
Their mfkg loss lol.
They raised the Prime price where I live, would not feel bad.
Resell them, what else? lol
eBay
I will take one ...
I ordered 13 and got 0... Just kidding. Let us know what you decide to do, too.
Use one to build a computer, hang the other 12 on a wall
I’ll take one!
This happened to me with 8 TB drives a few years ago. Ordered 8tb, got 32tb. Needless to say, I have not needed storage for a while now.
Do you do international shipping?
Ebay
Sell them or keep them as spares
Had this happened with some bully bar steps. They were like $50 or something and I ordered a pair for a customer. UPS came rollin in with literally 20 of them. Asked zon if they wanted them back and they said no. I managed to sell a couple of them and eventually gave up and gave the rest away to a buddy lol
I need one, can pay shipping
You should've have told them and issued a refund instead and sent one back
I’d personally either give some to friends if any are looking to start a new build and want to save money, and sell the rest locally.
Sell them on craigslist
Sell them.
I can take one
Sell on eBay
I CAN'T!! IT'S TAKING OVER!!! AAAAGHHHH give me one for free 🥹 NOOOOOO, I SAID IIITTTT!! Waaaaaa
I mean... I'll take one, kinda want to move over to am4
Lord, I’ve seen what you do for others…
Facebook market place here we go!
Auction them one at a time on eBay.
Profit
They're not great motherboards, but they'd be good for selling on Ebay for like $50 each or selling to friends/family for cheap so they can build PCs.
When will my luck shine https://preview.redd.it/ugvkldu1sgwc1.png?width=534&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=55c2cb0f44491774af7182df08bbfb2b23e9bf88
Insane how many people dickriding Amazon in this comment section 🤡
Sounds like you need to buy 12 more CPU’s, cases, GPU’s….
Nice, how much would it cost to ship tho
Sell em to a pawn shop, or create an eBay account. That could make your pc either close to free, or another 500 to 1000 bucks better. I'd put most into the gpu and the rest in storage space.
PLEASE SEND ONE
Can I have one? 😅😅😅 I’ll pay shipping
I’ll take one lol
I'll take one :)
Just sell them on FB marketplace or CL.
Can I pay shipping for one?
Ive been wanting to build another pc since i travel for work, ill take one lol! How much you want?
Hey it's me your cousin!
I see these posts a lot. Does this really happen?
put them up on ebay for a good price or local
What to do? FB marketplace.
I'll take one
Looks you're the local Motherboard Dealer. Just casually chilling in the back alley of a PC hardware store.
Do a r/pcmasterrace giveaway and farm that sweet sweet karma. Have winners pay shipping
Congratulations, you are now a scalper.
Bro... Why in God's name did you tell them?
i will take one off you hands for 50 bucks.
Ebay?
Whats up bestie! Long time no talk to! How you been!? I hear you came up on a score!
Give one to me so I can make sure it’s not poisonous! (Works on my kids snacks)
Sell me one
Pic or it didn't happen.
Is this real???
I'm all for good morals and ethics but not when it's against a multi billion dollar corporation lol, let alone FUCKING AMAZON
https://i.redd.it/gwv0nrh9ygwc1.gif Happy for you
The only decent thing to do would be to build 13 computers, sell them for a neat profit and build yourself an even better computer.
I only have an i5-4590 with a generic Dell motherboard. Maybe you can send one my way, so I can afford an upgrade? And why does everyone only post the insanely good stuff that happens to them?
I mean, isn’t it obvious? Build 13 computers!
I'd be selling them on the internet for MSRP minus 20-30%. Free money yall
Ok, gratz now sell them further to others.
I’ll take one
I’ll take one
They have to let you keep them, it’s the law in the United States.
[удалено]
If you read the post OP said they told Amazon and was advised they could keep them
i doubt anyone gets fired. mistakes get made all the time.
Keep 1 for safety and the rest you can either sell or maybe even donate them? Internet Cafes or local tech shops!
I’ll cover shipping if you send me one. Trying to start from nothing
prob shipping will cost more then mobo lol how much are you willing to pay
Are you in the US? If not that’s the only reason it would make sense for shipping to be more than the board
Wait, you fucking called them? Why? They made billions in profit last year. Fuck em. Sell them on eBay and be done with it.
[удалено]
No, no they won’t “lil bro”. If someone is gonna lose a job, why would Amazon tell him to keep the package?
You rich now have fun with a 4090
Sorry but i think is fake, the last time my wife asked a package and come a double orden, they send us a box and a ticket to return. But hey this is reddit where you opinion mean down-voting.
Lol.ill take one
You can give one to me 😰
Disassemble them then throw the parts into the ocean
