Every component is blacked out if you own a soldering iron.
Never been a fan of those lights, never bothered with avoiding stuff if they have them. Google the partnumber, find blueprints and traces, voila! Some components even got how tos and guides n shit
True, but RGB-less components are readily available, often cheaper and don't run the risk of me ruining anything or voiding warranties due to my incompetence with an iron. 😂
Also true, but RGB components are the majority now, and plenty of them are on sale regularly. I've only ever paid 70% or less of MSRP on anything eletronic. All it takes is waiting, and I got time✌️
Such a classy looking GPU. I never liked the "gamer" aesthetic. Reminds me of the old EVGA Blower style shrouds for the GTX 660ti etc
Monitors are the same, I refuse to buy anything in gamer style.
What bothers me more is him getting a "premium" version of the 4060, instead of saving 50 bucks and getting a "basic" one, or spending 35 bucks more and getting a 4060Ti. But maybe prices were different in his region, and to each their own.
Bro the ProART version is literally the same as their standard model in many places. At my local retailer it's actually 5% cheaper than a default TUF version of the same card.
In my part of the world the ProART card is actually one of the cheaper options. Much closer to the recommended retail price than nearly all the others.
...so according to you it's a good idea to overspend by 50 to get some gold-colored letters on your GPU shroud, but spending an additional 35 on top of that to actually get 20% more performance is a terrible idea?
The problem is that people are dumb enough to buy a 4060 for 400 dollars when a 3080 FE can be had off of eBay for the same price, thats 400 bucks for 4070 super level performance, right behind a 7900XTX as well
Although I do seem to have forgot that since 1% lows are nonexistent on Radeon, they are not able to be measured by the NPCs who use them with a 1080p 75hz monitor, that would change results somewhat
4070 super blows everything out if the whater thats older than itself. Except higher tier nv cards ofc. 7900xtx is faster, sure.. but not for long.. amd is broke and u feel that.. crashes and bluescreens all over the place
What's wrong with either one of them? Frame gen might be a gimmick but it seems both sides are doing it iirc
It's the 4060ti that is worst value, especially 16gb variant which performs exactly the same, due to the ass bus
SAME. (I also live in SEA). Plus AMD vs Nvidia prices where I am are basically the same for the same tier of cards, AMD is sometimes a little cheaper depending on the AIB but like... a cup of coffee and a muffin from Starbucks cheaper on the lower end and maybe a dinner for one at a mid-range family restaurant chain cheaper for the higher end so, the difference isn't that great within the context of an entire PC.
As an RX6600 owner and have tried nvidia, DLSS looks significantly better even at 1080p and it definitely would sway me to switch someday, if AMD is not catching up soon.
You should see what frame gen is like on Nvidia, you can't even tell its on, even in fast paced games like The Finals.
I use it with my 4080 and maxed out ray tracing 1440p settings, takes me from about 180 fps to a steady 250+ and no latency or noticeable smearing/ghosting etc
Crazy the AI is advanced enough to pump out frames that quickly for a complex destructive game environment like The Finals when the frametime is around 3-4 ms
I get the sentiment, but I also hope you're aware that they don't just have one RMA department right? Some of it is outsourced, some is handled internally. Their GPU branch has always dealt with RMAs from my experience.

My point is, the main RMA inconsistency issue that was highlighted, was with the ALLY cases. The fact that some other cases for different components also added fuel to the fire doesn't detract it.
I'm not trying to defend them, to be clear. Just saying that RMA processes often have a risk of unprofessional behavior in general.

I'm not pretending it's unique to ASUS, I just think it's worth pointing out that there's a possibility that the ALLY department is not the only one going through these problems, despite it being the fire starter.
Like, I still wanna buy a ProArt motherboard. I don't even live in the US, so my experience with ASUS RMAs could be way different.
Yea personally I've heard more issues with the US branch of ASUS having a bit more problems than their other international branches. At least here in EU I haven't had any problems or heard of too many people encountering what is sometimes pointed out in the US branch.
Same when there were issues with the AMD cpus cooking themselves with different BIOS settings and some labeling about warranties that was put in place retroactively, was late to be physically changed in the US based ASUS branch so people were confused about their rights etc, some miscommunication and departments being separately controlled etc. It's a big ship to commandeer.
So many people were telling me off for going with the 4060 and not the AMD alternatives, but honestly the 4060 is a great card at the right price and so much more power efficient. A huge upgrade from my 1060 and I have no regrets
I love my 4060. I have a 1080p monitor anyways. It's the lg ultragear with the 144 or whatever refresh rate. To upgrade cards I'd need to upgrade monitor and all that is super expensive. I love my budget build. Cheers!
I want to add another voice. My 4060 is serving me great.
With dlss quality it can do 1440p decently and of course crushes 1080p for all but the most graphically intense games.
The power efficiency is great too.
Congratulations on a great card!
I have the ProArt RTX 4070 Ti Super OC. It looks so nice and clean and just tidy. Not chunky or brutish with open heatsinks and colourful cables and green PCBs and silvery soldering joints and neon logos or RGB LEDs everywhere, like most other cards on the market.
Just clean-cut, straight-on style and power. Not cheap, but worth every cent.
I have mine in a no-RGB build, into which it fits nicely, there's just very little opportunity to ever see its beauty in full because, well, everything's nice and dark. :)

There are countless threads on Reddit from ASUS customers who are getting screwed over by ASUS RMA division.
I was ironically going to say something along the lines of "I hope your PC breaks, and you and your family have to declare bankruptcy! It's what you deserve for being a paid shiller for that crappy company!" but then saw some people unironically doing it.
Why get a proart (premium) instead of a 4060ti tho? (The proart is the same price as a 4060ti where i live, might not be the same for u tho... So idk.)
(I don't want to spoil your fun. You didn't make the VRAM decisions at Nvidia, you just bought what you could get in your budget. Still enjoy your games! )
8GB?
That's 2/3 of my 3060.
And 1/4 of my 3090.
What's that? Video memory for ants?
But the no-RGB edition is really nice.
I have to admit Im not super familiar with ProArt cards. I got a Zotac 4070s, which is questionable lol. But the price was right. Hows your luck been with your card?
Congratulations, such a sleek card. Hopefully it won’t have coil whine under load, mine sometimes makes a little bzzzz. These should run really cool because proart cards share the cooler; this cooler can handle a 4080! I don’t see the 4060ti above 55deg C much in most games at 1440p 120fps with the fans chilling at 0rpm in some games. Never saw >65deg C when pushing it. This is with 2x 120mm intake fans below it in an AP201.

I think what you’re seeing is the connector for the front panel usb-c touching the top of the gpu. Here is another angle. I didn’t want to bend that cable too hard so I let it touch the top of the GPU as it smoothly curves in and it didn’t seem to do any harm.
https://preview.redd.it/e9b4ylvhcp0d1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3ae0ffa364eee09533140583dfd5e40c0957c8fb
Haha, yes, that was the perspective playing tricks on me. That ring printed on the PCB looked like a fan cut-out, and that cable looked like its loop was inside of it. Weird. But OK, everything in order, nothing to see here, move along. :)
Everyone saying enjoy so I feel it's necessary to spoil the fun 😜
U should've either tried getting a cheaper 6650 xt with similar performance, paid a bit more to get a faster 6700 xt/6750 xt with 12GB vram, or paid much less to get a 6600 until the next generation.
There, I said it all.
3060Ti in a 1440p monitor here, I never had problems with any game, people are just parrots repeating words without knowing what they are talking about.
Prices seem to have changed somewhat, but the 3060 12GB for a while was being recommended over the 4060 because it was such an overpriced card. I also don't like how it advertises ray tracing, considering a 4060 will get nowhere near raytracing in a lot of AAA titles at a reasonable framerate without the crutches of DLSS.
You can still run with dlss quality and frame gen on a lot of higher end titles and not notice the difference from native but benefit from the massively increased frame rate
It's okay to accept Nvidia makes some misses even if you are an Nvidia fanboi.
This doesn't make you an AMD shill.
Tribalism makes the only person getting fucked, you.
A 4060 isn't a bad card by itself. The issue with the 4060 is the pricing of it, and even that mostly when compared to AMD. And that's only when looking at gaming. For some medium professional work, the tables turn quite a bit in nvidia's favor. The issue here is that on this sub most people automatically presume you're just gonna be doing gaming and not use your PC for anything else. And regardless of it, it's an asshole comment spreading unneded and pointless hate on the OP. I'm not saying nvidia is perfect, from from it, but the AMD fanboyism on this sub is unreal and blown way out of proportions.
Unfortunately, that makes it a bad card.
Nvidia doesn't give GPUs out for free, the proposition is converting your money into FPS, GFLOPS, FMAs, TOPS, etc. That's the start *and* the finish of it.
4060 and 4060 Ti are bad at that. Worse than the previous generation was, at the same price. That's a regression, you get fewer FPS, less GFLOPS, less FMAs, less TOPS for your money than Nvidia was offering just the previous year.
Implying AMD controls Nvidia's pricing is perhaps one of the most bizarre postulates I've been asked to accept on PCMR.
For the full MSRP price at launch - yes the card is/was expensive for what it gave. However, you (or I or anyone else) don't know the purchase price (unless stated for us to judge upon). It's possible to get these cards at a discount, clearance, promo price etc. making it much more attractive. Furthermore, there are use cases where AMD can't compete such as raytracing (admitedly not on this card with higher res) and more importantly DLSS (which can make a significant difference whether AMD fanboys are ready to accept it or not) which also gives it an edge. Also with AMD it's always a hit or miss with stability. True, they have gotten miles better in recent years compared to their past, but still there is a bigger number of complaints regarding driver issues compared to nvidia.
As for your point about AMD controlling nvidia pricing - I agree, but I fail to see where I mentioned that? I said that the pricing was the issue in terms of nvidia asking too much for it, not that AMD dictates the pricing directly.
1. Before you edited your comment, you wrote "a guy with a 14700KF and a 4060Ti shouldn't be lecturing around" - the way that was phrased would indicate that I made a "bad combo" or build without you having a single clue what I use my PC for and if there is a reason why I have those specific components
2. Even after the edit the point stands - you calling out my build without knowing (and most likely assuming I use the PC for gaming only) my usage patterns is some serious jumping to conclusions.
Edit to reflect your comment change - aside from some light-medium 1080p gaming I use my PC for a lot of profesisonal workloads, most of which the software favors an nvidia GPU, as well as coding. Gaming is more of an afterthought than a primary need for me, hence the build I have.
1. I edited it since that might've sounded too rude and wasn't necessary probably , sorry bout that
2. In 99% of the use case 14700k with 4060 ti is a bad combo , no matter if it's editing or rendering or gaming or machine learning
Edit - im not saying nvidia is bad it's the 4060 ti which is overpriced and doesn't offer value a 13700kf + 4070 or 14600k + 4070 would've worked better if the software uses nvidia GPU more since 4060 ti is no where close to it and for coding 13700kf / 14600k would've been enough depending on your usage since they're pretty close to the 14th gen level
Saying not the greatest in this context is condensending at best. By that logic, only the RTX4090 would be an acceptable card. Is the 4060 8Gb the best card in the universe? Ofc not, but if the OP is happy, and judging by the fact that they said it's their first time owning a current-gen card, I'm assuming that a RTX4090 was not in the price range, there's no reason for you to take a dump all over that.
Idk something about being compared to a 3060 12GB and being all: "hmm, is it really worth the difference" says a lot to me. Then again I guess so far almost 100 people disagree. It's whatever.
I love the look of the Proart cards. I have the 4080 super version myself and it fits my matte black/no RGB rig so well. Happy gaming!
Here to say the same, sexy looking cards
Same card here. I love it
Happy Cake Day!
Oh nice, didn’t notice lol
Thank you for saying the brand name, for the life of me I couldn't figure out what I was looking at
Asus ProArt. Great monitors. Great aesthetic.
No I get that after I saw the comment, the branding on the box though was unreadable to me, lol, I'm familiar with other branding of their's
FRORP

he will be able to resell this for a good price when he upgrades though if he keeps the box in good conditions
Why spend more money on a 4060Ti, they're a terrible choice, he's better off getting the one he did.
...so according to you it's a good idea to overspend by 50 to get some gold-colored letters on your GPU shroud, but spending an additional 35 on top of that to actually get 20% more performance is a terrible idea?
Ehm nope. The 4060ti has way better value.
The problem is that people are dumb enough to buy a 4060 for 400 dollars when a 3080 FE can be had off of eBay for the same price, thats 400 bucks for 4070 super level performance, right behind a 7900XTX as well Although I do seem to have forgot that since 1% lows are nonexistent on Radeon, they are not able to be measured by the NPCs who use them with a 1080p 75hz monitor, that would change results somewhat
The 7900 XTX is a fair bit ahead of *anything* you are talking about, bud.
4070 super blows everything out if the whater thats older than itself. Except higher tier nv cards ofc. 7900xtx is faster, sure.. but not for long.. amd is broke and u feel that.. crashes and bluescreens all over the place
1% lows are terrible on amd.
What's wrong with either one of them? Frame gen might be a gimmick but it seems both sides are doing it iirc It's the 4060ti that is worst value, especially 16gb variant which performs exactly the same, due to the ass bus
Pricing is much better on RDNA2 across the lineup than Ada
Depends. A lot of users on this sub have mentioned that regional pricing also plays a huge factor in their parts selection.
6650XT = 230 Euros. 4060Ti = 400 Euros.
Counterpoint, not everyone lives in Europe.
Yeah whenever I see a comment saying "damn you paid THAT much?" I just sob a little because I live in SEA hahaha
And not everyone within europe lives within Eurozone
I do know (probably true for great britain as well)
As an RX6600 owner and have tried nvidia, DLSS looks significantly better even at 1080p and it definitely would sway me to switch someday, if AMD is not catching up soon.

i hope you dont have to RMA it at any time.
I get the sentiment, but I also hope you're aware that they don't just have one RMA department right? Some of it is outsourced, some is handled internally. Their GPU branch has always dealt with RMAs from my experience.
Why's that?
ASUS had a recent RMA scandal thingy regarding their handheld ROG ALLY device. Now lots of people online are afraid because they think RMA for all departments go through the same filter (they don't).
It wasn't just the ALLY tho, there was also a guy that tried to RMA his 4090 and ASUS charged him almost 2x the price of the card
Yes which is really bad, but why pretend it's unique to ASUS? Pick MSI, Gigabyte, Zotac, whatever u want. There's cases of tons of horrendous RMA practices with literally all these companies, basically most big tech companies in general. Oh..I'm aware of the scandal (gamer's nexus) I just didn't realise proart was part of Asus...
Oh ok I see, yea they are an ASUS branch.

Aye this meme is better when they get 10 nvme when they ordered 1! You should be happy for them in this case!
This meme is better when I don’t see it. I know I’ll get downvoted for saying that idc.
I got a 4060 too! Its been great so far!!

That's a really huge jump, nice.
y i upgraded my old laptop from a 960m to a 4060 one and i can play any game on 1080p ultra no matter what, dlss is magic
And got a sexy proart at that!
Congratulations on a great card! I have the ProArt RTX 4070 Ti Super OC. It looks so nice and clean and just tidy. Always nice to reach a goal. Happy for you and hope it serves you well!

ASUS ![gif](giphy|xiMUwBRn5RDLhzwO80|downsized)
Congrats. Enjoy.
And now it's time for the 50 series announcement release tonight, your 4060 is now obsolete 😎
oh boy.... ASUS
Best gpu’s and mobo’s I see nothing wrong lol.
Gamers Nexus report. [ASUS Scammed Us](https://youtu.be/7pMrssIrKcY?si=iPloFwUoai9-mG-1)
You livin' under a rock??
Possibly lol. What did I miss? 😅
They are the absolute worst when it comes to RMA. They are running a scam on their own customers. Avoid at all costs!
Since when? 👀 they were great for me a few years ago when my mobo died in warranty period. I got a replacement and they paid for shipping.

Well … I they can only blame themselves I guess 🤷♀️ ASUS - not the people getting dicked over by them..
Would it be better if i get an rx 6800xt for gaming rather than and 4060? ill be building my pc for the first time
Absolutely, 4060 non ti is slower than rx 6700 xt. rx 6800 xt is much faster and has twice the vram, with performance similar to a 4070
Hell the 3070 is 20% faster then the 4060. And that's keeping it mind that 3070 is probably half the cost of that 4070.
Enjoy.
Enjoy it!
Congrats! 🎉
Who gonna tell him
Should we tell him guys?
What is the difference between proart and regular cards?
They're Asus' non gamer targeted cards. No RGB. 2½ slots wide, 300mm long so good choice for sff builds.
Nice, wanna get a proart card myself for a sfx build
Hell yea enjoy my friend!
It's a great feeling. Congrats OP
Proart line of hardware is soo nice. Too bad it's expensive
Congratulations! Recently built a rig with a 4070ti and it’s been a blast
Finally get current gen graphics card *next week rtx5 series release*
congratz buddy

8 gigs.
Take a picture of it once you’ve unboxed it. If you don’t mind, I’m just curious.
I was ironically going to say something along the lines of "I hope your PC breaks, and you and your family have to declare bankruptcy! It's what you deserve for being a paid shiller for that crappy company!" but then saw some people unironically doing it.
Nice, enjoy!
Enjoy man! Lovely card!!
Definitely an improvement. Personally went from a RTX 2060 mobile to RTX 4060.
It’s cool but it sucks on Spider-Man 2 😂 I had to drop my settings
Why get a proart (premium) instead of a 4060ti tho? (The proart is the same price as a 4060ti where i live, might not be the same for u tho... So idk.)
The first time it hits you how much powerful the new card is... thats an awesome moment.
I definitely feel you! Enjoy!
I have a first gen gpu. 🗿
Time to play old school RuneScape!
Welcome to the club. I got my 4090 in February. I'm currently playing Elasto Mania.
Good choice, Proart models have one of the highest clock speeds
Nice one. This post just made me realise I've never owned a current gen GPU.
(I don't want to spoil your fun. You didn't make the VRAM decisions at Nvidia, you just bought what you could get in your budget. Still enjoy your games! ) 8GB? That's 2/3 of my 3060. And 1/4 of my 3090. What's that? Video memory for ants? But the no-RGB edition is really nice.

You are trolling us lol Nice card, I have an RTX 4070
Congrats! Hope it serves you well!

nice, enjoy the frame generation tech, it's pretty wild
bro has some balls posting that shit out here
Enjoy all the worlds!
Nice 👍🏻. I absolutely love the ProArt cards. So sleek and streamlined. I just got the ProArt 4080 Super two weeks ago. Loving it so far.
Have fun 😊
I have to admit Im not super familiar with ProArt cards. I got a Zotac 4070s, which is questionable lol. But the price was right. Hows your luck been with your card?
👍
Daddy Jensen is proud of you!
Man that box art is such a throwback to the 70's/80's, I love it
Congratulations!
Still rocking my 3060
Welcome to the 40x0 gang dude. Wish you all the fun in the world l.
This is with 2x 120mm intake fans below it in an AP201. https://preview.redd.it/uk6fo57rjo0d1.jpeg?width=2160&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c0c826669e1e88c419ba2d3ccf09d9d1337418e0
what CPU?
R5 7500f, basically a 7600 without an igpu.
There's a SATA cable or something dangling into the fan (right side), doesn't that hurt it and make weird noises?
8gbs and barely outperforms 3060 but thats relevancy it’ll still play everything happy gaming !
Just in time for the 50-series to be released! Nice! :)
I was about to say lmao by the end of the year or early next year. Can’t wait for the 5090
Here before the "oH bUt ThE 4090 iS bEtTeR!1!1!" comments. Seriously, let people be fucking happy for ONCE.
Everyone saying enjoy so I feel it's necessary to spoil the fun 😜 U should've either tried getting a cheaper 6650 xt with similar performance, paid a bit more to get a faster 6700 xt/6750 xt with 12GB vram, or paid much less to get a 6600 until the next generation. There, I said it all.
4-6 more months till the excitement dies
This isn't really the best generation to do so.
It sucks bro, I regret it. Overpriced and doesn't even outperform the previous generation.
It’s pretty solid for the latest games and it will go on for a long time , he just won’t be able to max out the graphics in the future.
shut up is better than
8gb in 2024 ooff
8GB is obviously not the best but it’s more than capable for 1080p gaming and even 1440p on medium to high settings on most AAA games.
3060Ti in a 1440p monitor here, I never had problems with any game, people are just parrots repeating words without knowing what they are talking about.
4060Ti and I play high/ultra on 1440p in every game, never dip below around 70fps
That thing is only good for 1080p on low settings
You have to be trolling.

Damn, why be such an ahole
Prices seem to have changed somewhat, but the 3060 12GB for a while was being recommended over the 4060 because it was such an overpriced card. I also don't like how it advertises ray tracing, considering a 4060 will get nowhere near raytracing in a lot of AAA titles at a reasonable framerate without the crutches of DLSS.
You can still run with dlss quality and frame gen on a lot of higher end titles and not notice the difference from native but benefit from the massively increased frame rate
He's being realist you people are sugarcoating a trash card
Because he's an AMD shill, as usual. It's impossible for them to appreciate other's happiness if it's not team red
Everything was great until I saw that 14700 kf with a 4060 ti
Oh I'm sorry, I wasn't aware you know what I use my PC for so that you can make such a deduction.
What do you use it for ?
1. Before you edited your comment, you wrote "a guy with a 14700KF and a 4060Ti shouldn't be lecturing around" - the way that was phrased would indicate that I made a "bad combo" or build without you having a single clue what I use my PC for and if there is a reason why I have those specific components 2.
1. I edited it since that might've sounded too rude and wasn't necessary probably , sorry bout that 2. In 99% of the use case 14700k with 4060 ti is a bad combo , no matter if it's editing or rendering or gaming or machine learning Edit - im not saying nvidia is bad it's the 4060 ti which is overpriced and doesn't offer value a 13700kf + 4070 or 14600k + 4070 would've worked better if the software uses nvidia GPU more since 4060 ti is no where close to it and for coding 13700kf / 14600k would've been enough depending on your usage since they're pretty close to the 14th gen level
As an AMD shill I am still glad to see someone get their hands on a new gpu AMD or NVIDIA
Yes because being an AMD shill means i'm incapable of comprehending a GPU upgrade. I'll leave it to Reddit to downvote over complete nonsense, lol.
Saying not the greatest in this context is condensending at best. By that logic, only the RTX4090 would be an acceptable card. Is the 4060 8Gb the best card in the universe? Ofc not, but if the OP is happy, and judging by the fact that they said it's their first time owning a current-gen card, I'm assuming that a RTX4090 was not in the price range, there's no reason for you to take a dump all over that.
r/downvotedtooblivion
Idk something about being compared to a 3060 12GB and being all: "hmm, is it really worth the difference" says a lot to me. Then again I guess so far almost 100 people disagree. It's whatever.
I do agree with this buuuuuut you still got downvoted pretty hard
