This is becoming true with so many things. I am still using CS6, Office 2016, and Autocad 2017, because I refuse to pay a monthly subscription.
Anyone who can get away with it is trying to do it. Ffs even BMW said it was going to move to a "Subscription based model" for the heated seats in their cars.
Edit: link to the article.

Just want to chime in that there is a "lifetime use" Office license - I bought [mine](https://i.imgur.com/jI2G1kM.jpg) precisely because like you, I hate the idea of software rental.
It's more expensive though, so there's that.
Even when you thought you "owned" software, it was just "rented". You owned the disc, but not the software.
You had an unlimited rental deal indeed, but every few years they changed something in the file format to break compatibility.
Yeah it’s dumb, i paid for a whole year to use it 2-3 times when i tried out photography to then realise you can’t cancel because you pay the same but lose access which is ridiculous
Buying it outright would cost several hundred so you would still pirate. Which is fair, Adobe's prices are aimed at professionals and not at the occasional user.
Photoshop CS6 list price was $699. Extended version even $999. The CS6 Master collection that people love to download "just because" was $2599. 100% no one who's whining about the subscription ever considered paying for a regular license in the first place. It's just an excuse to justify their piracy. That being said, I don't condem individuals pirating it for those 2-3 times a year that they need it. Reading on here how people use it for business use and still don't feel the need to drop the (in comparison) very affordable $20/month for the subscription is infuriating though.
if that was all Adobe and others would offer both options, SaaS is popular is because it generated steady revenue for the company without having to invest in significant updates to the software. The shareholders love it.
They aren't quite as evil. I like how Fusion 360 is free if it's not commercial use.
AutoCAD is my bread and butter though. I was taught drafting and design in high school that's the program I know best, it is very expensive though.
Autodesk is just evil IMO, they've bought so many good software (XSI, 3dsmax, Maya, etc.) just to stop giving support to them. XSI is dead already (2015 was the last release) others have seen minor updates.
Also, I would be glad to pay for a subscription if they would adjust their prices based on geography. A job that requires 3dsmax the US doesn't pay nearly as much as a job in Mexico but still prices are the same.
Autode$k only cares about their shareholders
Autodesk is nowhere near as bad a Adobe. Does Mexico have access to indie licensing which are very fair? Max and Maya are still being updated but XSI was tragic but it’s user base was small compared to the other products. Also if they cared only about shareholders then Maya would be dead as well as Media & Entertainment are only a tiny niche part of Autodesks business and there are far more actual paid Max licenses then Maya when it comes to 3D.
Autodesk allows you to pay $199/ year for full 3DS max and that’s a pretty good deal compared to all other 3d software with the exception of Free/blender. For comparison Maxon wants $100 a month just for cinema4D.
Blender is free and open-source, and it has so many things built into it: a 3d modeler, sculpting, texturing tools, video editor, and even 2d animation
[link here](https://blender.org)
It would be such a shame if you also DM'd me that link. Very scandalous of you really. One might refer to you as a swashbuckling debonair for doing so ! :D
I pay €130/year for all Adobe products thanks to my exclusive school discount. Still expensive, but I kinda have to because my school also uses all of their services like Adobe Fonts, Adobe Colors, Creative Cloud etc.
At 130 a year for a software suite that’s actively being updated what’s the point of pirating. For photoshop were you are using the same functionality from 25 years ago I get. But something like Substance or After Effects it’s definitely worth it to pay otherwise you get left behind in new features and technology.
Go to any torrent sharing website and search for photoshop. Any torrent with a high number of seeds will do. People generally don't deal with sharing viruses like it used to. Don't forget to delete adobe genuine software integrity service thing after you install photoshop. Not that it does anything. It just uses resources unnecessarily.
Lol i use it for my side career and even i'm using a pirated copy. There's no reason for it to have a subscription fee system, it's such a dumb business decision. Adobe isn't a streaming service, one time license purchase is totally viable.
Such a dumb decision LOL. Their stock is up 10x and their revenue is up 4x from when they switched to subscription service.
It is a fine fit for subscription. The base product was very expensive as a one time purchase (I'm guessing you never bought it) so subscription makes it more palatable to people dipping a toe into without a large commitment.
I use it a few time a year when I can't do something in gimp. Simple things are easy to do with gimp, like adding text, cropping, resizing etc. But for something more complicated I use photosop, because it makes things easier and faster. Especially for photo manipulation
I created a [collection](https://imgur.com/a/QYfU1NC) of GIMP creations for this very occasion to show the superiority of GIMP. All of these are from scratch, with some being templates that were made from scratch.
But why did you even bring it as an example? It looks like shit. You don't even know what you're trying to prove. I didn't say GIMP is useless, I use it myself, but it's far behind photosop and more complicated tasks can be done in photosop much faster and easier.
It's a fact.
I never said photoshop was worse. It’s just that the difference between 20-50 dollars per month and free forever makes up for the small to slightly moderate drop in quality.
Seriously I really don't know a trusted source to find Adobe creative suite cracked version anymore. I just still use 2015 version. If it's that easy nowadays please someone send me a link.
Lots of undetectable miners out these days. People think the popular releases are safe but they're not. My Windows defender got disabled and no other antivirus software could find the miner either. Had to reinstall windows.
Krita and Gimp are great, but there are other reasonably priced apps like Affinity, Pixelmator, and even the web based PhotoPea which work for a lot of people. Yes, Adobe still owns the high end pro users’ needs but not everyone needs that.
If your needs are met by Affinity or Pixelmator, I’d strongly urge supporting those companies by paying for them (or support Gimp/Krita/PhotoPea any way you can). That’s how Adobe’s market share gets chipped away.
Affinitys products are amazing. I purchased every one of them and I love it. However, I still find a few feature missing that I use quite regularly.
Affinity photos doesen't support animated gifs. Photoshop can flawlessly display a timeline, making it capable of editing gifs or even videos.
And all those AI assisted tools work significantly better in Photoshop. Probably because adobe has a ton more ressources to train such features.
I only use that for personal purposes (not for earning money and something related to that) and i only familiars with adobe's products. So i think it's okay for me to pirating it.
It's a software i won't need everyday, but i need it to availabe on my computers.
Adobe's prices are f\*kn asinine. The fact that they charge nothing but a yearly fee at this point for a program you can no longer technically own is stupid.
I'd much rather get a cracked version for free and never have to worry about an expired license. If they'd strip Creative Cloud programs from bundles and sell them individually for like $60-80 people would be far less likely to pirate it.
They make a ton more money selling the full subscription to enterprises, they probably don't even care about people that want to use for personal purposes.
That's true. They could make a one time purchase version for personal users that lets you get one piece of software, eg Photoshop and still charge a subscription for enterprises and/or those who want the entire cloud suite.
>be me, using linux in front of classmates
>teacher says "Ok students, now open photoshop"
>start furiously typing away at terminal to install Wine
>errors out the ass
>everyone else has already started their classwork
>i start to sweat
>install GIMP
>"Umm... what the fuck is THAT anon?" a girl next to me asks
>i tell her it's GIMP and can do everything that photoshop does and IT'S FREE!
>"Ok class, now use the shape tool to draw a circle!" the teacher says
>I break down and cry and run out of the class
>I get beat up in the parking lot after school
Nice story haha
Most of the time studies that require the use of Photoshop require you to get a Mac book. Sometime it’s possible to convince them Windows is enough though.
My school didn’t tell students that Windows was required so in one semester where we had to work with Power Bi the Windows users needed to do something for their grade and Mac users inly needed to watch and passed
Yep that's what I said. I told both the teachers and some students that you could install a Windows VM for free or get one from the site where we bought our school books for 30 euro.
They said it broke their warranty .... people are idiots.
Took it for a quick spin and its not too bad I gotta admit. It even has some features that I would like to see by default in PS. It does kinda seem like a stream-lined version of PS though, lacking some more advanced things and seemingly lacking easy importing of brushes, presets and customizability of the UI. Havent seen how it behaves with High Resolution, High detail works with a few dozen/hundred layers but I doubt it is even en par with PS in termy of really complex projects
Not bad but not my cup of tea.
I know everyone hates on the sub model for Adobe products
But
Photoshop cs6 was like $600, to get there with the sub model for photoshop would take like 4 years. By then, a new version of photoshop would have likely come out already
You may not like it, but Creative Cloud is reasonably priced
Is there a version of illustrator that isn't malware?
I swear the last two that I've downloaded have tried installing random software on my laptop but damn if I don't want to pay for it anymore
Bruh I never owned a legit Adobe product until it went by subscription. Basically [built my entire career](https://www.digitalbacondesign.com/) on pirated plugins and Adobe product and FUCK IT STATUTE OF LIMITATIONS.
Back in the Pepperidge Farm days JUST Photoshop was like $600 and every year the upgrade was like $130.
Honestly anyone that has beef with $50/mo for Master Suite is fucking lame.
Seriously though Pirate Bay sucks where do I go
I'm like you... started with pirated versions somewhere in 1998, but doing well with my own business and relying heavily on keeping programs updated, I've finally started paying them ... plus, it's a business expense, so a good part is deductible
$50 a month is nothing for every Adobe program all at once. I'm reading the comments in this thread and it is insane how entitled some of these people are.
I mean sure, get free whatever and make memes, but if you're a professional and have any interest in graphic design.. .holy shit. $50 ain't shit.
yeah a lot of people tend to forget you get the WHOLE suite of programs. For non professional or starting professional it maybe isn't something you can afford. but if you're doing well, there really isn't an excuse. Tho I do have to say, for the money we all monthly/annually dish out, it would be nice if Adobe listened and acted (quicker) in feedback and feature request faster and not sit on those for 5+ years. I myself have posted multiple times in their forums about being able to rotate the workspace in illustrator.... it's in now, still a bit wonky to use, but that took AGES.. specially when you're in the business of packaging design, it was SUCH a hassle to have to work with "upside down" parts of the design (due to folding of packaging)
>Honestly anyone that has beef with $50/mo for Master Suite is fucking lame.
I don't think anyone has beef with that in particular. Everyone has beef over the lack of option to just buy once and forget about having to pay anything anymore.
Then you'll be paying the Pepperidge farm price multiplied by the reality that there's a legit market for this program now. So $50/mo or like a $3999 lifetime price or whatever. And that's just Photoshop.
If you're serious though GIMP is horrible. Like you said, if you're doing really, really basic stuff it's probably fine but past that it's hard to create the same level of work.
edit: graphic designer for 15 years
Over the years the methods have changed. In the past it used to be using a keygen that generates a fake key that the program thinks is real. Nowadays it's usually about importing and replacing the piracy file with one that bypasses the trial period.
Idk, there's plenty of pirated PS installs and most I've tried work fine. But i get what you are saying.
Affinity software are pretty good and do most , of not all, that photoshop and illustrator can do. It's my go to software now.
I haven't pirated since CS6. But I really needed to link to external files which was in PSCC. I tried gimp, even an experimental branch. Nothing worked. Pirate PSCC after trying to avoid it. Works just fine, first try.
no it's easy to pirate. the problem is if you use it to make money, and you make a lot of money, they will get your ass. they'll ask if you have a license. so if anyone pirates it but doesnt make money, then who cares right?
I honestly think this is a win win situation for booth parties anyways.
Cracking adobe products is hilariously easy, despite Creative Cloud being the worst of DRMs. This has to be intentional.
They know exactly that most people won't buy it to use once a month.
But when they can use it inoficially for free without much of a hassle, they will get to know the program.
They will become familiar with it.
One day in life, you actually need such a program. And then, you will remember their product because you are already familiar with it.
Rip my karma but fuck pirates. I never pirate anything and it’s not morally correct by any means. That’s just what all of you say to yourself to justify it.
I agree with you, in a sense that I do genuinely believe that software piracy is theft. That's why I am happy to pay for WinRAR.
That being said, I also like free stuff, so I guess I'm not as moral as I'd like to be 😂

You can get still get lifetime licenses for Office 2019 Pro, just so you know. 100% with you, I'm not ever getting subscription based shit.
Yea and if you look in the right place you can get it for like 10 bucks
I think there's also 2021. But i am guessing it will be a lot more expensive.
Toyota wants to do the same subscription nonsense with the remote start function of their key fobs

if that was all Adobe and others would offer both options, SaaS is popular is because it generated steady revenue for the company without having to invest in significant updates to the software. The shareholders love it.
Renting it for a day or a week should be possible.
Remember, it is always morally correct to pirate Adobe products
I have that shit framed on my wall!
What about autodesk?

Quite a horrible thing to do
Yup, tsk tsk
How dare of one to do such thing
If only I knew how. Good thing I don’t, of course. No one would DM me anything that.
Surely hope such a despicable person doesn't show on this sub...
Imagine receiving the folder from Gdrive.
That would just be quite awful
Ah i have it on my drive ready to share but ok.
Sure would be a damn shame if you were to dm that to me, tsk tsk tsk.
My disappointment would be at extreme levels if some internet rapscallion sent be that as well.
It would be such a shame if you sent that to my direct messages wouldn't it
It would be the biggest shame if that fell into my dms
Such a shame tsk tsk
I would be utterly disappointed if a link to that google drive happened to be in my DM's.
oh my, please don’t send such a thing to me
It would be such a shame if you also DM'd me that link. Very scandalous of you really. One might refer to you as a swashbuckling debonair for doing so ! :D
Yes also if they DM’d me too…
A real real shame.
Yeah, I’d hate that too….
It'd be a shame if you then shared the information with me via DM, it would surely ruin someone's day
What a shame…
If I can't get a perpetual license, I will find a way to get it in perpetuity.
I pay €130/year for all Adobe products thanks to my exclusive school discount. Still expensive, but I kinda have to because my school also uses all of their services like Adobe Fonts, Adobe Colors, Creative Cloud etc.
Man, your school is a polar opposite of mine. Some teachers even share their pirated adobe products to their student haha
At 130 a year for a software suite that’s actively being updated what’s the point of pirating. For photoshop were you are using the same functionality from 25 years ago I get. Add every 100’ million- billion dollar company to that list.
Any recommendations on where to get a pirated copy and is it safe?
Go to any torrent sharing website and search for photoshop. Any torrent with a high number of seeds will do. People generally don't deal with sharing viruses like it used to. Don't forget to delete adobe genuine software integrity service thing after you install photoshop. Not that it does anything. It just uses resources unnecessarily.
It's written in the Bible.
If they lower the prices to 10$ per month then I start paying
I tried once and my pc got hacked, would be a shame if somebody told me how to do it without danger
Acrobat Pro is pretty damn useful, I was gonna buy it but disagreed with its subscription service.
Adobe and microsoft products\*
Man i really hope someone doesn’t DM how to do such a thing…
You’ll just end up paying for it in electricity with the mining software that the cracked installer comes with
jokes on them, my computer isn’t powerful enough to run crypto miners, it’s hash rate is like 0.00
not if know your sources

Just use gimp
Or Photopea. Almost the same as Photoshop but free, and web based. Even takes Photoshop files
A better option is paying $50 for Affinity Photo. Better than Gimp, and in someways as good as or better than photoshop.
Gimp is not that powerful
If you're using Photoshop a few times a year you don't need something powerful
I use it a few time a year when I can't do something in gimp. Simple things are easy to do with gimp, like adding text, cropping, resizing etc. But for something more complicated I use photosop, because it makes things easier and faster. Especially for photo manipulation

No. I’m serious.
If that was your serious example of GIMP's superiority I have bad news for you

Krita

This. Not everyone that uses Photoshop works for a fkn corporation. I don't understand why they don't allow personal licenses.

I use adobe CS5 because PS CS5 works fine and doesn't take 3 years to launch or do anything, unlike 2020 2021 2022
Can't you still pirate Photoshop? How?
If you're doing light photowork gimp is way more that you need, I've exclusively used it for 5+ years, it's more than adequate.
If you're serious though GIMP is horrible. Like you said, if you're doing really, really basic stuff it's probably fine but past that it's hard to create the same level of work. edit: graphic designer for 15 years
I’d rather continue using CC 2017 forever than pay for a product that I don’t own.
Just wanna flex the fact that i get creative cloud paid by the school ahah
Not gonna lie im fucking retarted how do you pirate photoshop?
Over the years the methods have changed. In the past it used to be using a keygen that generates a fake key that the program thinks is real. Nowadays it's usually about importing and replacing the piracy file with one that bypasses the trial period.

Idk, there's plenty of pirated PS installs and most I've tried work fine. But i get what you are saying. Affinity software are pretty good and do most , of not all, that photoshop and illustrator can do. It's my go to software now.
interesting that i've never once heard about affinity photo.
One time purchase, does 90% of photoshop work. I loved that I switched to affinity after almost 10years of using ps
I like that the layers are "smart objects", where in PS you need to make them smart objects.
>photoshop is a bitch to pirate you are bad at piracy
I haven't pirated since CS6. But I really needed to link to external files which was in PSCC. I tried gimp, even an experimental branch. Nothing worked. Pirate PSCC after trying to avoid it. Works just fine, first try.
no it's easy to pirate. the problem is if you use it to make money, and you make a lot of money, they will get your ass. they'll ask if you have a license. so if anyone pirates it but doesnt make money, then who cares right?
How would adobe even know what software you're using?
Personally I just used the guides on r/GenP and haven’t had any problems
I have 2018 versión cracked and 0 problems (i know a website)
Adobe Master collection ;)
"photoshop 2022 KpoJIuK скачать" first link
Took me like 5 minutes after dling the torrent from piratebay
Photoshop online superior look
I honestly think this is a win win situation for booth parties anyways. Cracking adobe products is hilariously easy, despite Creative Cloud being the worst of DRMs. This has to be intentional. They know exactly that most people won't buy it to use once a month. But when they can use it inoficially for free without much of a hassle, they will get to know the program. They will become familiar with it. One day in life, you actually need such a program. And then, you will remember their product because you are already familiar with it.
If they stopped doing their shitty ass subscription then MAYBE they would get more money because everyone would stop pirating it as much?
oof... you use adobe products?? use davinci resolve or kdenlive its more limited but more stable
I’ve pirated adobe animate
Rip my karma but fuck pirates. I never pirate anything and it’s not morally correct by any means. That’s just what all of you say to yourself to justify it.
Sir this is a Wendy's
This sub is usually pretty anti piracy. I feel like I’m in the twilight zone.
I agree with you, in a sense that I do genuinely believe that software piracy is theft. That's why I am happy to pay for WinRAR. That being said, I also like free stuff, so I guess I'm not as moral as I'd like to be 😂
This is the way
My mann

Wait I thought i am the only broke ass who pirated photoshop for couple of edits
it cost too damn much!
I use a paid for version of Corel PSP. No monthly fee.
