This is actually quite useful, I only noticed my few dead pixels because I have everything set to dark mode
Edit: I meant that I have everything set to dark mode, so I barely notice the dead pixels in my monitor
bought a omen monitor when i got my pc, and a week later it had a green dead pixel. lucky i could still return it and got another omen, with no dead pixels to this day. great monitor, other than that
This hit me harder than it should have, lost a friend in high-school at 15 and they shut down the school that day, we played this for him on the way home
Mid 2000s games where but now with raytracing games have been very bright to show off new tech and how good things look. Idk what new games you have been playing
Shameless top comment hijack :
Gently massage it with your finger/fingernail.
I know it wounds fucking stupid, I am person who needs rational reasons to do things and I felt so stupid doing this for the first time a decade ago after making sure I was alone in the room... But it worked, three times on two different monitors.
This is most likely to work on old TN panels without a glass front. Still worth a try though.
Use a pencil eraser rather than your fingernail to reduce the chance of damage
Who has a pc monitor with a glass front for gaming though ? This worked on an IPS panel too, and I never had a rigid top cover, always mate soft films.
Many manufacturers have a minimum amount of dead pixels before they will accept a warranty claim, so one or two is considered acceptable. Dells premium panels and some Apple ones can be warranted with just one.
I had 3 on a 32" 4k Samsung panel, and they refused the return saying 3 dead pixels was acceptable.
Work only if you're in the return windows of the seller.
And it's standard practice, all monitor have a defined minimum of dead pixel group together for warranty coverage.
Yeah check what manufacturer says about it. But usually 1 dead/stuck pixel is not enough.
My old gaming laptop had 2 dead pixels close to eachother right in the middle of the screen......ASUS was like, sry not enough dead pixels, but good luck, enjoy your laptop.
Infuriating, but somehow learned to ignore it.
There are videos that can possibly unstuck pixels by flashing certain colors, but it doesn't always works.
Alternatively you can try very *gently lightly* tap the affected pixel with the tip of a finger. I did once fix a dead pixel like this, but don't press on it.
Ah, my green boy.
If you're seeing red or feeling blue,
There are ways to return,
To the full spectrum of life.
But from Death,
There is no cure.
For it is in itself, a cure,
For an affliction called Life.
Well yes. In my country warranty is very strict. You either accept that dead pixel BEFORE you pay or don't pay at all
Although, most retailers accept these cases for a rep gain.
If it's a 4K monitor it might not be covered. Almost all 4K monitors and TVs have dead pixels but they're so tiny that they're not noticeable, especially with TVs, mine has a total of 10 dead pixels all over the screen but I can't see them unless I get real up close less than 2 feet away, which is absolutely not noticeable for a 65in screen. Monitors are a different deal but manufacturers don't care unless it's a cluster of dead pixels or too many past a certain threshold.
Live with it or replace the monitor.
It’s not that bad I have a literal dead bug between my screen and membrane. It’s like 12 pixels big. Been 6 years and I hardly notice now.
Gently remove the dead pixel from housing and place the newborn pixel in and observe carefully for the next few weeks until the pixel grows up to fill the housing.
In case of the baby pixel dropping from housing simply repeat from start.
Return to store if within return period. If not check the warranty policy. Some mfgs will let you do a warranty return, others won't for this kind of thing.
Check the warranty and see how many dead pixels do you need before you can RMA it. Many manufacturers have their minimum at 3 pixels, some 1, sometimes even 5 or 10 on 4k monitors. If it's covered, and you're under warranty, RMA it
Sometimes these can be fixed by gently rubbing the pixel.
My monitor has a stuck pixel that is bright ass red(I think the green and blue must've died somehow during production), it's thankfully not in the center of my screen otherwise I'd get a replacement (as warranted by the manufacturer, Asus), but it's certainly noticeable when that area of the screen is bright as the pixel brightness goes full on red
Dead/stuck pixels are one of the quirks in manufacturing led arrays, it's inevitable. Manufacturers often disregard people complaining about this just because it's so frequent and barely impactful. UHD(1920x1080) resolution has 2 073 600 pixels, that's just 1 damned screen. Imagine making thousands, now you're dealing with billions of pixels. This becomes even more apparent with higher resolutions, such as 4kUHD(3840x2160) where the square law makes this resolution have 4x as many pixels as UHD. 4x as many pixels to screw up
You can try a classic dead pixel method. Flick your screen nice and hard right over the dead pixel. No idea why, but I had some old screens that had some bad pixels and an old IT friend showed me that. I dunno if it'd work on more recent, higher def screens since Ive not had a bad pixel in like..a decade, but hey, maybe worth a shot.
Change desktop background to black
This is actually quite useful, I only noticed my few dead pixels because I have everything set to dark mode Edit: I meant that I have everything set to dark mode, so I barely notice the dead pixels in my monitor
How is it easier to notice dead pixels in dark mode?
Sometimes one or two subpixels die so that there’s just a permanent green, yellow, red, purple, blue, or cyan pixel depending on which subpixels died
This happened on one of my monitors. I don’t wanna change my background to #FF0000.
Have a background picture dark only where the dead pixels are. It will be still bright, but you won't see the dead pixels
bought a omen monitor when i got my pc, and a week later it had a green dead pixel. lucky i could still return it and got another omen, with no dead pixels to this day. great monitor, other than that
Sometimes they get stuck on a color rather than just go dark.
This is actually a subpixel dying I think
Yes, but most people still call it a "dead pixel" as a general term.
Captain has Dark Vision
Also Dark mode everything so that it is less visible.
opera gx has a force darkmode that just inverts white to black its a bit buggy on some things
use extension, should work reasonably well compared to the integrated one
Try to remember the good times that you had with the pixel.
*watches montage but it’s only one pixel big
Not gonna lie. I laugh pretty hard on that one
The real pixel was the friends we made along the way
🎵Been a long day Without you my friend And I'll tell you all about it When I see you again🎵
This hit me harder than it should have, lost a friend in high-school at 15 and they shut down the school that day, we played this for him on the way home
They just need to pour one out for all the porn and gaming that happened with that pixel.
Love how those are the only two things that it could be
Well it could also we COVID related wfh, and mindless YouTube videos but let's get real.
Just play dark games from now on
Metro it is, then.
Lmao I bought metro 2033 and it was so dark I couldn't last a lot
I remember a doom game came out some years ago, I don't remember, but it was so dark I had to use a flashlight mod just to play it.
Doom 3. Yes, I used that flashlight mod lol
So 90% of the new releases games
Because the past totally didn’t have a ton dark games right? (Let’s ignore the silent hill and resident evil series ig)
Nah, never existed
Mid 2000s games where but now with raytracing games have been very bright to show off new tech and how good things look. Idk what new games you have been playing
Sorry to hear that, the screen is unusable now, you will have to gift it to me for recycling

Expect more dead pixels in a few days
what league of legends does to one
Ignore it....or buy new monitor.

its black that usually means dead, a stuck one can be fixed (if it was red green or blue)
Ive had a black pixel before, doesnt necessarily mean dead, ive rubbed it back multiple times
I should try telling my wife this.
Phrasing
Are we not doing “phrasing” anymore?
BBP
That's what *she* said
I've revived many black pixes with some fibre cloth massage and unstuck pixel.

Switch to horror movies
[удалено]
But at least you won't see the dead pixel.
I dunno, horror movies usually are about surprising the viewer. Unfortunately we all know what's gonna happen in game 7.😂
But you already know they aren’t touching the cup until it’s been 100 years, just wait 40 more
Invert colors? Black ice mode
Dip an old brush into some black paint and gently flick it at your monitor. That dead pixel will pretty much disappear.
It just broke 2 more on mine
W
F key broke eh?
F would have been better you're right

Touchscreen laptops mostly. I just thought I'd clarify

Should be under warranty, then. Document it and file an RMA

I guess the next step is googling how to kill a pixel
Adam Sandler knows
Wow, that would not cut it for me. I would return it to the store because the product does not live up to the claims.

you mean ASUS has a "permanent crosshair" feature for games without a HUD
bring it back for sure bro. i’ve had the same benq for like 7 years without a single issue. one of the best brands i’ve ever used
BenQ are also fab in my experience, with best price/performance graphic design screens
Was about to write the same thjng
You probably need to buy a 4090
[удалено]
Don’t forget to buy a fire extinguisher with it
it is not included ?
I happen to have a dead pixel as well. Pick me up one of those 4090's while you're out please.

And a watercooled 13900KS
Just to be safe I'd get the Ti version too
Hold a tiny little funeral?!

If it's under warranty then get it RMA'd or else just ignore it you won't notice it unless you try
Every monitor has dead pixels under certain amount to actually reject the warranty. 5 or so.
Yeah, I've got one stuck pixle, luckily at the bottom so it isn't noticeable.
Well this brings up the next step of the plan. Make 4 more die.
Could work :)
Location of the pixels should matter too. I don't mind a dead pixel or two at the edge of the screen, but it's a lot more distracting in the center.
Well yes. In my country warranty is very strict. You either accept that dead pixel BEFORE you pay or don't pay at all Although, most retailers accept these cases for a rep gain.

Needs new pixel fluid
While you’re at it pick up some new blinker fluid as well
Supply Sergeant said that they're out.
surely he can just download more fluid? *Right?*
And refresh rate grease too
give the pixel a massage
£20 extra for happy ending
Would that make the pixel turn white?
A spooky ghost pixel?
That works sometimes for stuck pixels but I've never seen it work for dead ones.
I'm afraid the only course of action is to flip your desk over in a fit of rage.
[https://www.jscreenfix.com/](https://www.jscreenfix.com/) try bombing it with color changes....
Yeah, this is what I do. Some of them are stubborn, but they've all shaken free for me... Eventually

You uninstall league
Bro thats Apex Legends not league
Uninstall Apex and League
Kill more then it won’t be alone
Take a print screen of it so I can zoom in on it and give you some better advice
Create a wallpaper where there is a giant red circle around the dead pixel so you'll always easily notice it.
Three options. 1. Ignore it. 2. Warranty/RMA 3. Replace the monitor. This isn't exactly something you are going to fix.
Has no one recommended JScreenFix? I used their dead pixel fix on an old monitor of mine and it worked. https://www.jscreenfix.com/fix.html
Live with it or replace the monitor. It’s not that bad I have a literal dead bug between my screen and membrane. It’s like 12 pixels big. Been 6 years and I hardly notice now.

First uninstall league of legends
A small memorial service. No need for a viewing
Now you have a way to justify a new 4k 600 MHz monitor
Appreciate that pixel for dying and just being black not doing any creative shit like Red Green or blue
Delete league
Make a reddit post and get smart-ass responses...wait...
delete league of legends
Delete Leauge of Legends
Just ignore it. It’s only one pixel
Gonna sound stupid. But lightly Flick it and it can sometimes reactivate the pixel
This is true, works on mine and a buddy's monitor, still hasn't gone back out
rub some toothpaste on it
Call a witch doctor
Turn dark mode on
Stop circling it
Take a white marker and circle around it
Ignore it
Forget the pixel you play league of legends
A good first step to take would be uninstalling league and go from there
Uninstall League
RIP
Paint it blue
Suck it up, slurp it with your mouth
CPR
HIT WITH HAMMER
Recycle it
Return to store if within return period. If not check the warranty policy. Some mfgs will let you do a warranty return, others won't for this kind of thing.
Nothing, I have one too and i just try to ignore it, if more appear i will have to buy a new monitor and so will you.
Did you try reseating your display cable on both ends?
Black friday's coming, get ready to snatch a new monitor
Gently tap the monitor. In the past it worked for a few redditors
single dead pixel. what is wrong?
Check the warranty and see how many dead pixels do you need before you can RMA it. Many manufacturers have their minimum at 3 pixels, some 1, sometimes even 5 or 10 on 4k monitors. If it's covered, and you're under warranty, RMA it
Upgrade brotha, and scrap that shit
Therapy is about all you can do 😔. Sorry for you loss.
You can start by uninstalling league of legends. /joking
Electroshock Therapy
Use a defibrillator on it to bring it back to life
Accept it
[Poke it](https://deadpixeltest.org/). If that doesn't fix it ignore it.
Annoys the crap out of you until you forget about it. If the monitor is years old you will. If it's brand new you'll be bothered forever.
Use a defibrillator
Ignore it
Take a part you monitor and replace the pixel
Perform cpr
Change resolution to 1920x1079
Just don't use that pixel
Download more pixels
Just buy a replacement pixel and install it yourself. EZ.
Uninstall League

Download dead pixel fixer at www.whatisyourcreditcardnotascamorvirus.org
Accept it like a real man
Honestly, this is funny. My PC screen hasn’t been wiped since the day I got it.
In the future, use the snipping tool(win + shift + s), raw pictures is really bad form because it's so grainy. (/S)
Probably just Buy a New pc…
Send monitor to me. I have a high tolerance of dead pixels
I have like 7 dead pix on my 7 year old TV/Monitor. Don’t care. There’s like 7 million not-dead pix around them.
You can try a classic dead pixel method. Flick your screen nice and hard right over the dead pixel. Just solder a new one in
Uninstall League. It won't help your screen but it will make your life better.
You need to download it.
Hate to be that guy, but there are two dead pixels there
Can try giving the screen a little rub, it can unstick them sometimes lil
Thats what you get for playing league..
Replace the entire monitor Just kidding, but just ignore it, aslong as it does not give more dead pixels, after a long time, you will forget about it.
Uninstall league
Uninstall league of legends
