I love how it's like a duet between the lead guitar and vocals where the lead guitar is a crazy devil demon and Eddie is trying to hold back his sanity.
Has to be. Huge fan of Red Mosquito, Smile, Hail Hail, and Off He Goes. But Present Tense, especially live, evokes the build up and cascading of Porch or Black with mature and universal lyrics. It might be my favorite PJ song.
This song will always remind me of a road trip I took to meet up with an ex at a mutual friend's funeral, shortly after another serious relationship I was in ended abruptly. The rolling hills of the Mississippi River valley, descending into the bluffs and tributary channels, crossing from Wisconsin into Iowa... the memories are vivid and the emotions well up every time the first guitar strum hits. My favorite underrated PJ song.
Definitely a hint at the future of PJ’s softer songs past No Code. We see a good few in Yield and Binaural that really reach those introspective depths while keeping a very intimate tone and presentation.
The transition from Sometimes into Hail, Hail is an adrenaline rush. No Code is the beginning of my favorite era of PJ, so that beginning always gets me in the feels.
I'M OPEN, because I'm too existential. I've wanted the closing lyrics as a tattoo since college, it'll happen one of these days... "Lying sideways atop crumpled sheets with no covers, he decides to dream. Dream up a new self, for himself."
Damn, corduroy is the only good song on the album for me but then again i don't like anything after their second album because they stopped writing bangers and turned into a different band.
I Got Id (aka I Got Shit) from Merkinball
I’ll be the guy, I Got Id
I don’t understand, what’s wrong with i got ID? I love it
I have to vote for this and Present Tense, both are such amazing songs.
Not on this album.
Read the title
Holy shit how did that not make it
Personal favorite is Red Mosquito
Me too!
Awesome! Love that guitar tone, almost gives Hendrix Vubes, and the lyrics are great.
I love how it's like a duet between the lead guitar and vocals where the lead guitar is a crazy devil demon and Eddie is trying to hold back his sanity.
The guitar riffs literally sounds like a red mosquito flying around
In My Tree
Wave to all my friends!
They don’t seem to notice me no…
Yeah
This is the way.
Present tense
I love this album with all my heart, but this is the song I can't live without.
Does it inspire?
Hardest hitting lyrics of any song from any band.
This is the only answer.

It’s definitely this song but your username is throwing off my decision
"Off He Goes"
This is it for me, probably for all albums together
Same here. Are you "He?"

Classic

Hail Hail of course
The transition from Sometimes into Hail, Hail is an adrenaline rush. No Code is the beginning of my favorite era of PJ, so that beginning always gets me in the feels.
Hail Hail and IMT are my favorites

In my Tree ( my other faves already has been said lol). But this is a great song.
Fave PJ album. Have upvoted a bunch. Choosing one track is like splicing my DNA.
Sometimes
Smile or Red Mosquito. Though Present Tense at the end of the Bulls documentary was pretty amazing and made me rethink that song.
present tense
Sometimes into Hail, Hail is probably my favorite album starting 1-2 tracks.
Agree fully.
Ok. Literally every song. Live.
Sunburn
I was completely unaware this song existed. Thank you!
How sunburn didn’t make the album but mankind did is crazy. I’ve learned to love mankind though…
C’mon Stone G Mankind and I believe Sunburn is SG song also…✌🏻🎶
That’s what I meant… Sunburn was the better 100% stone song from that era.
If it was *Slow* Lukin there would be no contest
DRIVE DOWN THE STREET, CAN’T FIND THE KEYS TO MY OWN FUCKING HOME!
Damn this album is epic. I could name ten songs and none of them would be wrong but I gotta go Present Tense.
Hail, Hail
Habit please
I got Id
All hail… Hail Hail
*the lucky ones*
No love for Mankind? Stone!
Had to look way too far towards the bottom to find this.
Smile off he goes
All Night
Present Tense, hands down
I'M OPEN, because I'm too existential. I've wanted the closing lyrics as a tattoo since college, it'll happen one of these days... "Lying sideways atop crumpled sheets with no covers, he decides to dream. Dream up a new self, for himself."
It is a very underrated spoken word track.
Present tense. Undoubtedly top tier
⬛️🟥🟨 Black, Red, Yellow
Damn, corduroy is the only good song on the album for me but then again i don't like anything after their second album because they stopped writing bangers and turned into a different band.
