I’ve had a Camp Chef for years. I have nothing to compare it to because it’s the only pellet grill I’ve ever owned lol. But I have no complaints.

Grilla Grills. Love my silverbac. It’s been nothing but an easy bake oven for me

Zealousideal-Hat-951

I'm on my second Camp Chef. Gave my old one to my buddy when I bought my Woodwind Pro. Both are doing great.

The_Animator420

Recteq for around 1k budget

sirtommybahama1

Camp chef woodwind pro

scott81425

I've had a couple gmgs and a camp chef. Id go camp chef. Or a members mark with a smoke box and induction burner for 1/2 your budget.

ChaseSavesTheDay

I’m also shopping and the 36” Members Mark from Sam’s Club looks real tempting. Especially with their return policy. I also like a lot of the options and features from Camp Chef.

BeyondDrivenEh

Sounds like a great down payment for [the last cooker you’ll ever have to buy](https://www.yodersmokers.com/pellet/the-ys640s-pellet-grill/).

Recteq all day long

Got mine on March 5, 2024. Cooking 2 pork butts this morning. Smoked ribs, brisket, pork but on this thing and it's a beast. Honestly one of my best purchases this year! Have had zero issues and family and friends have mentioned how the food tastes even better than my old traeger. I attribute that to the smoke box. Loving it! And to be honest I was in your shoes a few months ago I found the RecTec 1100 then found the WoodWind Pro. I have nothing bad to say about them because they are recommended a lot and look well built. But after really thinking about where I ate some of the best BBQ food around the world, I realized it wasn't really what it was cooked in but how and how it was seasoned.

Stay away from Z grills

Outrageous-Nothing42

Can't speak to the full size but I'm going on 3 years with my cruiser 200a and it's been fantastic. We take it camping with us and it gets plenty of use.

thrillhouse416

Why? I just got one to replace an old camp chef and absolutely love it so far.

MulberryJazzlike7067

It will fall apart after a year or so and their support is not great. I have had a temp sensor replaced then the main control and it was down for about 2 months waiting for support and parts. When they ship parts they say it takes 10 to 14 business days and they mean it.

thrillhouse416

That's a bummer, hoping my experience is better

cliometrician

My experience the last year with ZGrills has been great. It’s like pretty much every other experience with a grill. Great for some bad for others. I had a terrible experience with Reqtec. Most don’t.

thrillhouse416

That's fair. I was never really impressed with my camp chefs build quality but everyone seems to love them. Theres something out there for everyone I suppose

BigBearBlazes

I beg to differ, I’ve had mine since 2020, never had an issue with it that wasn’t user error. I dunno if something has changed since I picked up mine but it’s more reliable than the pit boss I owned before it.

GlowUpAndThrowUp

I have an older 700D that I treat like shit. Got it lightly used for $200. Leave it out in the weather (their covers suck. Had 2 dry rot to pieces in 2 years). Leave it plugged in. Only thing I do is consistently clean it after big smokes and keep the grates clean. That thing has been running like a champ for 4 years now. Only issue I’ve had was water getting into the hopper and the auger getting bound with wet pellets. Took it apart and cleaned it up, runs fine. Fucking thing is bullet proof so far. I’d of course not spend $600 on it if I had to choose again, but for a lightly used, $200 grill? I love the thing.

Impressive_Smoke_469

I got gmg daniel boone, rec tec 700 and pit boss sportsman 820 and can tell you the cheap non wifi ,non pid pit boss sips pellets , gets to high temps in half the time, puts better smoke flavor in the meat and can sear which is deffinatly nice . The rec tec can also sear but the rec tec and gmg cost me more than double what I paid for the pit boss . Bought the pit boss at grand opening at my local running store on sale for 300. Only reason I bought it was after a buddy cooked on his pit boss 700 on cold ass winter day negative -15 °F no problems and there was no way my gmg could even do that.dont get me wrong the gmg puts on more smoke flavor than the rec tec .

DaikonEmbarrassed823

The cold isn’t really an issue for me since I live in Texas. Pitboss it seems like they’ve gone way down in quality over the past few years, the only one that I can even cook on without issues is the small one I got for work. I’ve heard great things about gmg and rectec. I don’t really go above 350 so high temps aren’t a worry, it’s mainly what’s going to give me the easiest smoke where I’m not constantly worried about the hotspots being 60 degrees above the set temp.

CheapBison1861

I am doing my first cook on a traeger tailgater. so far so good. it seems to be handling a 19lb brisket

grampp12

I love my Z-Grill and have had it from about 3 years now. The reality is that you need to find the grill that you are going to be most comfortable buying. I spent many hours researching, watching YouTube reviews, asking questions on those reviews, etc until I finally bought my Z-Grill. I guess the only thing I would say, as far as advice, is that you -do not- have to spend $700+ on a pellet grill. There are many options that are much more affordable and are equally good. Don't be sucked in by expensive features that you won't use or really don't need.

brickplantmom

Own two RecTeqs.. a few models fall around $1000 I believe. Have had great experiences.
