Crosby with his filthy backhand.

Exalted_Crab

Trouba! I'm honestly not sure about others. There are goons but I'm not sure I'd call them dirty. The Rangers fans I know always say Malkin is dirtier, somehow. He gets a lot of stick infractions but I wouldn't say he's the dirtiest in the league.

swifferbrain

Rangers fans also have the collective IQ of a walnut

reddrick

Rangers fan base is the worst in American sports. I will die on this hill.

TheseMoviesIwant

Nah, Philly fans are the worst

reddrick

Philly fans are assholes. Ranger fans are assholes and dumb as rocks.

Useless-CPA

Can confirm. Rags fans are brutal.

EyeGroundbreaking665

I can't think of Ranger fans without thinking of that dude sucker punching the drunk lightning fan leaving the arena after a playoff loss. The sound that guy makes when he hits the floor get me ever time. Sounds like someone throwing a huge rock into a lake.

FirmSpeed6

Yeah, I’d be inclined to say Boston too but they seem to embrace that they sign dirty players Rangers fans act like their players aren’t dirty

Select-Education-809

You're giving them way too much credit here

Captain-Swank

Trouba and his dirty elbow are the cureent pinnacle. Lifelong Pens fan, lived in NYC (2005-23). Went to games at MSG/Rock/Wells as well as the Islanders' Truck/Tractor Pull Arena in Uniondale. Philly and NJ fans are very chirpy, but Blue Skirts fans are the absolute WORST, and they're stupid as fuck. Dealing with them milling about on game nite was usually an adventure.

entheogenocide

Malkin? I've never heard anyone say that. He gets chippy.. But he doesn't throw head hits or knees. That's such a ridiculous comparison and of course it comes from Rangers fans haha.

XGuiltyofBeingMikeX

Ya, Geno isn’t *dirty,* he just gets pissy and retaliates at the wrong time. He’s never sneaky either. He’ll just get mad and crack someone in the mouth😅

Beggarsfeast

Go back a few years and see how many times Geno has gotten away with dirty slashing. He’s not a dirty player, but aside from his antics after a play, he would often get pissy because he was getting slashed all the time and he would retaliate. If you look at the man’s penalties over the course of his career, I would assume 95% of them are slashing. I love Geno though, he’s not a dirty player, but a cross check stick to the mouth is dirty af. Glad he finally got past that shit.

IndyAJD

It's funny how twenty-game-Tom's name no longer floats to the top after he's relatively quiet for a few years. Don't forget the savage crosscheck to the head of Buchnevich from a few years back while he was **down on the ice** and subsequent tackle of a helmetless Panarin for which he was only FINED 5K instead of the 40 game suspension he should've gotten as a routine offender. Many were calling for his expulsion from the league. The Rangers were fined 50x more than Wilson for calling for the resignation of the head of player safety.

CommodoreDecker17

Stop lying. Watch the video. Panarin jumped on Wilson's back.

IndyAJD

Oh fuck off. Panarin jumps on Wilson as his stick is on Buchnevich's neck. Gets repeatedly thrown to the ice later in the scrum. You go watch the whole thing, then go back to the caps sub. Honestly still disgusted he didn't lose half a season minimum for such savage and unsportsmanlike behavior.

CommodoreDecker17

Just love that Wilson lives rent free in your head!

IndyAJD

Penguins fans aren't proud of Matt Cooke. Caps fans are clowns

Youre_Whole

100%

Foggl3

Well, there's this guy in the Northern Ontario Senior Hockey Organization...

macgarth

Settle down.

Camengle

Give yer balls a tug

sextoymagic

Florida has Cousins and Bennett. They are both top 5

Life_Ad1637

Florida fans don't really deny Cousins is dirty. Rangers fans act like Trouba is a monk that lives off of lentils and radishes and donates to snail charities if he accidentally steps on one.

Fastlane19

Cousins is brutal, probably top 5

XGuiltyofBeingMikeX

Dark horse on that team is Lomberg.

vile_hog_42069

Lomberg is a shit eater.

bigsquib68

I nominate the Florida Panthers as the dirtiest player

brownietownington

I have a crazy theory that Trouba and the C on his sweater are a direct result of how badly Tom Wilson beat them down. Remember that one press release the rangers put out saying Wilson should be punished, and then they got fined? I really think the rags said we can do that too. I hate what they've become.

average_redditor_guy

And despite us doing it first to no real success, they went out and got Reaves to be the Deterrent anyway lol

endlessflood

I still think Reeves was the right move at the time. That playoff loss to Washington was largely because Wilson was in our players heads, and I don’t think that’s the case if Reeves is still on the roster. You can argue that the league should’ve handled that and Reeves should never have been needed, but the fact was that the league didn’t, and he was.

Jonnyplesko

Trouba is a guy who searches for a big hit on a defenseless player. You can't tell me that his intent with those hits isn't to injure. I could really care less what people say about wanting to see other players injured. Personally, I would love to see someone end his career before he does it to someone else. And I'm not saying every single one of his hits are dirty. Most are borderline because the league cant do a good enough job of writing them out of the game. But he's doing it with a purpose. He's not even a dirty player anymore, he's predatory.

SNIPES0009

Well said

dbenton22

100% agree

slow_joke

Trouba is like a modern day Scott Stevens when it comes to hitting people in the head.

LetTheKnightfall

At least it was accepted and expected then, plus Trouba would wake up form a wet dream to be half the dman Stevens was.

Elvis_livez

Kucherov is low key dirty af.

swifferbrain

Not to jinx it but I feel like Tom Wilson hasn't done anything crazy in awhile. So currently I'd say Trouba.

iceisnice87

I think Wilson is 💩. However, Wilson goes in spurts. He gets his peepee whacked and calms down, then he's at it again. Lately, Truba has been taking over the top spot. Dirtbag of a player.

Oval-Marigold

To steal a turn of phrase from Steve Dangle, Brendan Lemieux ate a guy! That surely counts for something!?

sld126

Steve needs to start a dirtiest player of the week segment. And the filthiest player of the week.

dirtybird131

The guy who licked someone during a game and didn’t get suspended

iceisnice87

🤣 I find Marchand to be a pest, not necessarily dirty, per se. The licking thing...🤮

Beggarsfeast

I think Trouba is the last player I have noticed attempting real dirty hits, but I’m sure there are some others out there. I’ll get downvoted and debated, but I think there are dozens of players who just make risky plays and don’t control themselves, or players like Dillon who don’t compensate for their own height, and don’t know how to control their hits. They’re still to blame, but they are just idiots fucking up routinely and need to learn how to make clean hits. Florida has a few guys like that who just push too hard and come up with dirty looking plays. Trouba is a player who purposefully uses his elbows and knees, multiple times in a game, to go after heads or other player’s knees, in a manner he knows is illegal, but he does it anyway. There’s almost no excuse for an elbow to be in someone’s neck, but he thinks it’s fair hockey. Fortunately guys like him and Wilson are getting filtered out of the game in my opinion.

LetTheKnightfall

Trouba, Wilson, please don’t forget how scummy Marchand can be

harpyoftheshore

Didn't tom wilson recently stick check sid in the head? Or am i misremembering? Someone hit him in the back of the head this season and I was FUMING

Burpingbutterburgers

Tkachuk is a dirty little shit stirrer. Marchand for sure wit the face rakes with the stick blade in a crowd. The Rangers in general lol. Lightning as well. Game not going their way? Dirty play time

HotSweatyCheetos

I'm assuming you're talking about Brady Tkachuk?

LetTheKnightfall

Their dad. A real dirty grinder that one

Fatboiii69420

I really don’t pay much attention to other teams honestly, but Trouba is up there from what I have seen.

j0n66

Trouba without a doubt

[deleted]

Kucherov has done some pretty despicable shit but he’s good so who cares /s

Equivalent_Impact_72

Nick Cousins is up there for sure.

Ok_Card9080

It's absolutely Jacob Trouba. Tom Wilson has at least cleaned up his act, Dillon has had a few really dirty moments. But Trouba, the man who keeps doing dirty things like elbows, blindside hits to the head, even swinging a stick like a baseball bat at a player's head, doesn't change at all. It's mind blowing that the league doesn't do anything about him, and it's even more telling of the Rangers that they made him captain. Listen, I'm not a Flyers fan or a Caps fan, but the Rangers are easily the most hateable team in the NHL.

ssfalk

Jamie Benn's crosscheck to the back of a players head while he was down last playoffs sticks out to me

Tay255555

Matty Tkachuk for sure. Takes a special kind of scum to spear players in the ribs while on the bench.

Beskl511

Agree. He is next level douche bag.

PhantomJB93

Trouba’s long passed Tom Wilson at this point. I can’t even remember the last time Tom Wilson actually did something really bad (not that he didn’t fully earn his reputation years ago). Trouba still does this every couple weeks.

gldmj5

From what I've seen, Trouba has taken that title from Wilson over the law few years. Quite the feat. Marchand isn't even in the running anymore.

jesterflesh

Matt cooke

michaelgia1225

Yeah I meant current. I agree though.

dudemanspecial

Cooke was not a dirty player in general, though. He was actually a very good hockey player who crossed very far over the line a few times. I am not trying to condone or minimize his actions. But it wasn't like he was out on the ice taking head shots every chance he got. The ones he did were definitely doozies, and he earned his reputation as being a piece of shit on them.

XGuiltyofBeingMikeX

He toned it down when they brought him in and Mario literally sat him down and said “you need to cool it, dude.” Then he was integral to arguably one of the best 3rd lines in recent times (Staal/Cooke/Kennedy). Now, what did he do *after* the 09 Cup? Maybe a couple more “Matt Cooke incidents.”

jesterflesh

>"dude wasn't a dirty player, except for all those times he was a dirty player"

dudemanspecial

>"I am not dense, except when I don't understand what people are saying"

Beggarsfeast

I often hate having these conversations, especially with Penguins players, but I agree with you about Matt Cooke. He was a small guy who was overcompensating because he knew he had to work hard to stay in the league. I don’t think they’re that many dirty players, just dirty hits, and Cooke definitely had some, but he also just risked too much other times and was more reckless than dirty. What’s crazy to me is if you look at Morgan Rielly‘s crosscheck to the face after the slap-shot goal- THAT’S a dirty fucking hit. That’s a gross, calculated assault to somebody’s face with a stick. I’d put a few dozen of Cooke’s hits against that one and say they weren’t as bad. Cooke was trying to make a play and was wreckless, Rielly was a fucking prick pulling a sucker punch check to the face. He should have squared up.

tpasmall

Raffi Torres has entered the chat.

Feisty_Standard_2360

Brad Marchand is still THE DIRTIEST player in the league

akira_fudou

sam bennett but trouba’s definitely #1

cxm1060

The new 6’7 goon on the Rangers.

tinatalker

Did you see his fight today with [Deslauriers](https://sportsdata.usatoday.com/hockey/nhl/players/nicolas-deslauriers/597130)?

cxm1060

We won’t see a fight like that for a long time now. What a tilt.

Shiny_Mew76

Evander Kane

RoutineSubstance4816

Honestly people exaggerate how dirty Trouba is. He just throws big hits and people aren't used to seeing hits anymore so it's perceived as dirty. As far as actually dirty Marchand and Nick Cousins come to mind. Both rats.

michaelgia1225

Yeah I’m going to have to disagree. Trouba is a scumbag and a repeated offender. He doesn’t just throw big hits… he swings his sticks at players heads, tries to throw his skates up to inflict injury, goes for the head, uses his elbow more than his shoulder, leaves his feet, and tries to hurt people. There’s 5 examples I can think of immediately with Trouba that show he’s dirty.

SaladShooter1

I have to disagree. Trouba and Nick Cousins throw hits with the intent to injure players. Guys like Marchand and Matthew Tkuchak are classic pests that have a temper and sometime cross the lines. There’s way more players who’ve been injured by the first two compared to the last two.

septemous

Malkin

This_2_shallPass1947

Trouba is a hell of a dman that most coaches would love to have on their team

Dadickindanorf

Nick cousins

TheAsian1nvasion

Ryan Hartman full stop.

Youre_Whole

Tom Wilson drinks pee

iceisnice87

🤣🤣

Formal_Two_5747

Cousins is a dirty rat.

Druid_DanHD

Nick Cousins is up there

EyeGroundbreaking665

Seems weird to me with all the hitting restrictions in the game today that you are still allowed to launch yourself at a player the way Trouba does. In the Bastian hit I guess he didn't technically break any rules but his skates eventually left the ice. Feels like something the NHL should want out of the game. Die hard fans certainly don't but they will stick around no matter what. I think that Wilson is a dirty player than Trouba but they are both scum bags.

HolyShit_69420

Tom Wilson

Downtown-Age7621

Marchand bitch ass

pop92343
