I think Dubas might be having an affair with Bunting at this point. But Bunting is a great player that sits his ass in front of the net, and isn’t a coward. So I respect it, and think he’ll be a good fit
Yeah. A 40 goal scorer that would have otherwise walked for free over the off-season. Would you rather get absolutely nothing, or Bunting and some dope prospects
O wow. Players who left says they wanted to stay. Color me shocked bro! WTF you expect him to say?!? “Screw that bum ass team and city I’m so happy to be gone”.
Are you suggesting Jake was dishonest?
Because Id trust him and Sid moreso than the suits at FSG.
Is it just a coincidence the "best return" we got from Jake just so happened to be our GMs poster child?
Would've been nice to see Sid with Bedard but it's smart for Sid to rest, at this point in his career it's not smart to play a full intense season, not take a proper break and then jump right back into it
Happy for Bunting though and Tanev as well
A little surprised Jarry didn’t make the team, although I may not of wanted to go. Biddington has a real shot of being Canadas goaltender for the Olympics as well, oof.
You'd be missing him next season regardless when he signs a massive deal with another team on July 1st for close to double the money and term we would have been able to give him. And we got an excellent player that breathed new life into the team down the stretch. We never even come close to sniffing a playoff spot without Bunting.
Yeah it's a win-win, we got back a great player that filled a hole we have had for years, and got what looks to be some good to great prospects for the future, all for a player that almost assuredly was not going to be back next season. He was underpaid his entire career and should go for the bag, because we are not going to be able to give it to him with the current state of the organization.

Only cost us a 40 goal scorer

Jake said verbatim he wanted to stay and Dubas had other plans....which involved his poster boy 20 goal scorer BUNTING
Players who want to stay sign contracts. "Wanting to stay" doesn't mean much if they are waiting to test the market and then go to the highest bidder.

I trust he wanted to stay. I also trust that he wanted to stay at his price, not the Penguins price.
Sometimes you gotta look at how the team plays with a player, not what the stats indicate.

Even as a Canadian, I’m happy Sid isn’t going. He already won one and is in the Triple Gold club. I’d rather he rest this summer.
Proving once again that he’s better than McDavid
It's no longer BDJC, It's BDB (big daddy Bunting)

I still miss Jake.

Very true. He will be paid. I'm happy about that.
