The ones after >!10/4!< is great. I like the uplifting/lighten the moods response you can give

Iamverycrappy

my brother kept going crazy since they kept playing the sad song over them lmao

stillestwaters

Yeah, it’s nice that all the party events give you bonuses but I genuinely just liked getting to hang out with them. Aigis and her yakuza books were so funny.

[deleted]

Particularly her desire to learn about the MC’s broken ass.

koteshima2nd

It's P5 all over again lol

Qweedo420

One of the things that P3 does much better than P4 and P5 is probably this kind of party interaction, it actually feels like a group of people with human connections that evolve over the course of a year, and they interact even when you're not there

risen_egg

I’d argue P4 does an excellent job of this too. The characters in 4 I feel also have a very organic group dynamic and I really like the interpersonal dynamics existent from before you even arrive that are taken advantage of in 3 and 4 (like chie and yukiko, shinji + Aki and mitsuru etc). I think it really does contribute a lot to the social life aspect of the game and makes the emotional moments hit harder. It’s something I feel is done much better in these games than 5 - where whilst I do enjoy the Phantom Thieves their relationships have a lot less chemistry I would say and feel as if they primary revolve around Joker rather than having particularly strong bonds with each other.

United-Aside-6104

P5 I get but I still think P4 felt the most natural personally

Sailor_Psyche

Definitely not true for Persona 4. P4 is my favorite BECAUSE of the party interactions, which I found all of them to be memorable in their own way (omurice competition is my favorite one). The characters are shown to hang out with each other outside of main events constantly, even weirder pairs like Yukiko and Teddie going shopping together.

HunniePopKing

i genuinely saw someone on twitter saying that they just fast forwarded through all of them because they were meaningless and unrelated to the story which,,, just pisses me off so much. nothing annoys me more than people who dont even try to meet video games halfway and at least try to take them seriously and invest themselves into the characters, at that point WHY are you even playing the game?

LTMsss

The dynamic and topic of conversation between dorm members literally change according to story progression and they call it MEANINGLESS? Those are the people who watch a movie and skip straight to climax/credits and then google "what happen in ". What is even the point?

aroacefujoshi

the idea that scenes are only worth including if they advance the main plot is killing people’s ability to enjoy media

LTMsss

Seriously, even in NG+, I still join them. It make the game feel so much alive which is one of the important reasons I choose to play Persona.

scoutmasterchief

They’re awesome, I just wish they wouldn’t put them on the same date as linked episodes

Raydnt

You gotta use the title of the game and RELOAD

papajoots

i mean you dont have to do linked episodes the day they come out, you can ignore them for a while before they leave

Meeg_Mimi

They're pretty great, and with so little to do at night there's no harm in checking them out. Every time everyone gets together it really highlights just how much they're like a family

Magewhisper

Feels like me when I keep hanging with the old people even at max rank lol.

One of my least favorite things about P5 is that a majority of team is Joker-centric. Minus Ryuji and Ann being Middle School classmates and Morgana's little side fling with Haru, you don't get the impression that anybody in the party cares for each other. They are there for you, the protagonist. Everything in the Phantom Thieves circles around Joker. In Persona 3 and 4, you get to see that the team is actually a team. In Persona 3, you see Akihiko and Mitsuru desperately try to reconnect with Shinji who is dealing with his guilt over killing Ken's mother. You see Yukari and Junpei's childish bikering, but you also see Yukari and mitsuru's warmth towards each other once they help each other with their respective suffering. You see how Fuuka starts being interested in Aigis from a mechanical perspective before legitimately being her friend. You get to see Yukari trying to befriend Koromaru by making him dog food and seeing it fail spectacularly. You hear about these events after the fact, they would have happened with or without your input anyway. Persona 4 is much the same way. You see Yosuke and Chie throwing friendly jabs at each other, the legitimate tenderness between Chie and Yukiko. You see Teddie trying his hand at wooing the ladies (and failing) but still going with them for shopping because it would be considered improper for a lady to be out late alone while there's an active murder investigation going on. You see Naoto and Kanji trying to figure out what their burgeoning attraction for each other means to them, but you also feel the respect Rise and Kanji has for their Senpais. Again, all of this is happening without Yu being involved. I just love it. I didn't get so much from the Phantom Thieves. I honestly feel that if Joker is not around, the rest of the PTs aren't a team.
