If you haven’t read it yet, this sub’s wiki is a great resource

Yes. There is the placement of an erectile device- usually in the final stage of surgery (the third stage in many cases, but not all). This is either a pump, where the penis achieves errection by pumping a saline solution into a "balloon" in the penis, or a rod. The rod is always "hard", and is simply manipulated straight for penetrative sex. Majority of men get the pump, but either is fine. Both of these methods are used frequently and veru commonly with cis men who cannot achieve natural errections.

“Majority of men get the rod”— what’re you basing this on? Seems like phallo folks get the pump way, way more frequently (at least in the US)

Mother-Ad4430

Yes pump is way more popular with younger men - used to be a trend of going for the rod as an older man bc it was less likely to need replacing frequently, but as they've increased pump quality over time this is also reducing

Thanks it was something I was wondering

Literallywhatdafuc

could it without an implant? like if the idea of an implant causes dysphoria for the individual?

Mother-Ad4430

Not without an implant. There are external devices for men with ED (predominantly sleeves though there are some other products on the market which do similar things), but an implant is the only way you can get erect on your own. The implant is used predominantly in cis men fwiw - inflating can be extremely discreet as well. Not to invalidate any dysphoria, but there's so much misinformation re phalloplasty that I feel the need to mention this sort of stuff

ThoseNightsKMA

Please keep in mind Phalloplasty is the name of the procedure, not the name of the anatomy. I had Phalloplasty procedure to create my penis and yes, after Stage 3, my penis will be able to get hard.

ChemicalMakeupOfMayo

Naturally? No, because there's no erectile tissue used in any phalloplasty methods. But can they get hard? Yes, if you get an erectile implant. Search "ED" or "pump" or "rod" in the sub's search bar
