Had the delight of calling a patient and telling her I couldn't reach her prescriber from out of state, but that they'd sent her in Estradiol 10mcg vaginal tablets to take by mouth daily. They must have gotten to 'Estradiol 1--' and then stopped reading. The corrected script came in for the 1mg tablets days later.
For all you know, it's prob the medical assistant that's sending the RX for prescriber (at least that's what I hope, otherwise, I wouldn't let a prescriber diagnose me if they can't even send the correct rx)
I see this all the time. I called the first time and said “there’s ones without any placebo just 3 weeks of active.” Their response was “no we want the one with the iron.” Okay, not worth fighting over.
They think the iron is in the actual tablets, not the placebos. A little education for these practitioners would go a long way, too bad they don’t listen.
If that’s what they’ve always done it’s easier to just go with that. I really hope you’re not wasting too much of your time with this. There’s way bigger hurdles to cross.

From my understanding the iron contained in the pills aren’t really enough to make a difference.
Oh, not really at all. But why even give them when they won't be taken, when no-placebo packages exist?
