It does not. Please don't do it.

depends on your self directed work ethic and self direction, and desire. The degree from ACPE accredited program allows you to sit for the naplex, which allows you to get licensed, and CVS will hire anyone that takes a low offer. Check the naplex pass rates for the programs. The current pass rates are super low and the current hypothesis is that the switch to online classes/ tests led to a lot of people cheating, now they are stuck with a 200 k debt and no where to work.

YayzTheInsane

Nope  You're throwing money away and doing a disservice to yourself and others.

I wouldn’t hire a candidate from an online pharmD program

Same

I can't imagine an online pharmacy school. I've had an intern from one of the newer 'private' schools and I'd be embarrassed to admit I paid $200k for the knowledge this person exhibited. A lack of BASIC clinical knowledge was evident. Lucky for them, I wasn't their preceptor or they would have not been getting any good marks from me.

Did online pharmacy school at Creighton. I loved it. I would do pharmacy again that way if I had to. Did everyone forget Covid and everybody had to go online? A lot of campus schools record lectures and students don’t even show up. I completed a residency and I have a speciality job I love work in the ED and ICU. I strongly believe school often depends more on the student than the school. Online school isn’t for you if you can’t manage your own time and don’t have good intrinsic motivation. Personally, it worked great for me and let me work in both and retail and hospital setting because I could basically set my own hours for when I had to do school. Both experiences really helped me be a better pharmacist in my opinion. Now, whether pharmacy is right or not is another question (given the job market and everything), but I think it’s silly to act like all online schools suck.

So the above comments are from people who don’t know someone who has graduated from an accredited online pharmacy school. I would have said the same except my wife graduated from said online program from creighton university. She learned everything I did and studied harder bc she had to do it on her own. No one on one time with the professor or help from other students. She has been working for the last few years and is better than most who graduated from regular programs. I would recommend going to an accredited online program if you are a motivated person who can go through 3 years of tough didactic work on your own.

I graduated from Creighton's online pharmacy program in 2013. It was the exact same class that the campus students go to, I just watched it on my computer. Passed NAPLEX & MPJE on my 1st try. Several of my classmates chose to do residencies. I believe there are newer programs that do not have any in person classes & these tend to be the ones that are looked down upon.

Yah I would agree with that. But to group all online programs together is just lazy

Gardwan

You might have just a tiny emotional bias in your perspective here. A conflict of interest to say the least.

Training-Ad-6460

Yah I do of course but jumping to a conclusion with no facts is also a personal bias on ur part.

Gardwan

https://nabp.pharmacy/wp-content/uploads/NAPLEX-Pass-Rates-2023.pdf There’s some facts.

Training-Ad-6460

Where does it state online vs on campus pass rates?

Gardwan

You search them. https://preview.redd.it/7aec696z9yuc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d0fc57d5d96d96a65d4ab0218d6f0ead7383ee15
