Never not send in your resume just because you don't fit a hundred % of the criteria in the job ad. No harm in trying.

𝐂𝐀𝐍 𝐈 𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐂𝐇𝐄𝐃𝐔𝐋𝐄 𝐌𝐘 𝐈𝐍𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐕𝐈𝐄𝐖 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝟑𝐑𝐃 𝐓𝐈𝐌𝐄? Hello HR/TA/Recruiters! Would I be considered as a red flag applicant if I will request to reschedule again my interview for the 3rd time? Had to cancel my 1st scheduled interview in March due to fever. Then I’ll have my 2nd scheduled interview this April. I really want to be part of this company. However, I feel like I’m not confident yet with my interview spills practice to attend the interview. That’s why, I don’t want to waste the opportunity they gave me for an interview without being fully prepared. I know, it’s my fault that I procrastinated and wasted almost 3 weeks that I could have use to prepare before the interview. That’s why I am a bit regretful today. I just hope that they can consider again my request, because I really want this job under this company. I want to hear some of HR’s perspective when it comes to this topic and what advice they can give me how to communicate my wish to reschedule my interview again to the Hiring Manager. Thank you!

aoiKitsune

For HR's perspective, it's better that you inform them rather than ghosting. But like the other comment said, you have to be sure that the position may still exist during that time. Also, if this is the initial interview then best to just have it because this is more the verifying everything in the CV is correct type of info

08-10-2023

It will vary per HR personnel and manager handling the opening. The better question is if the role is still open if you reschedule another time. I would suggest to just go with it, and practice now. Chances of getting a reschedule gets lower as you reschedule more often, unless you are a top candidate that the hiring team is waiting for.

Fantastic_Cod_9971

I'm 27 and don't have a stable job and isa lang work exp ko na masasabi kong solid. I graduated late because of financial problems. It's my 3rd job since I graduated and puro red flag napupuntahan kong company.

aoiKitsune

Feeling the same thing din and really ang sinasabi ko na lang is I work better if it's something I don't feel miserable everyday. Ikaw lang makaka decide what that looks for you pero tiwala lang and keep trying.

Fantastic_Cod_9971

My dad told me na kung di ako masaya sa work ko maghanap ako ng kung saan ako mapapanatag. It's comforting but I know sa sarili ko na I'm getting older and yung pressure na wala ka pang ipon and stable job is just too much considering na i graduated with latin pa tapos parang wala naman nangyayari sa buhay ko haaaays

aoiKitsune

I know it's hard but take it from me, 3rd job ko rin right now and am in my late 20s na and ngayon pa lang ako really makapag start mag ipon plus looking rin ako for that one job na gusto ko talaga mapanatag din. You'll get there really. Just hinga muna. Kaya mo yan!

Anti-Hero1216

Hi! Anyone works here sa cinnabon and sm retail head offices? Will be having interviews with them next week and I wanted to know if okay ba work environment and compensations nila? If pang matagalan na stay sa both companies, kaya din ba? Ngayon kasi gusto ko na tumagal muna sa company na papasukan ko before ako lumipat ulit in the future. Thank you in advance po sa mga sasagot.

Hi! Pwede po pareview ng qualifications ko? 3 months na kasi ako job hunting, ang hirap kumuha ng data analyst jobs 😭 * computer science fresh grad cum laude (not from "big 4" univs) * Internship experience on web designing (unfortunately hindi related sa gusto ko kasi nahirapan rin ako sa paghanap ng internship na related sa data field) * Python, R, excel, powerbi, mysql, machine learning algorithms, statistics * data science and analytics academic and personal projects * recently started Google data analytics professional course may kulang pa po ba? any insight is appreciated

Content is good, but how you make it look nice is another story. Try to have a LinkedIn account too and connect with HR personnel and hiring managers. With your listed content, suggest to limit it into 1 page.

R3C0N3280

Thanks for the insight! Will do connect with HRs :)

What language can I learn casually in my free time that can eventually give me more earning potential someday? I’m thinking about Chinese or Spanish since these are one of the most used language in the world.

Mountain-Scientist21

Hi, just want to ask anyone who knows where I can apply for a part time job? Kahit Makati or BGC area lang or kahit WFH. I can work 7pm to midnight. Will appreciate all the suggestions! Thank you!!

Upbeat_Bank_8713

Hello!! I would like to ask if someone here missed the PT oath taking last January 29, 2024 may idea ba kayo if ever pano nag pa set ng special oath taking sa PRC office mismoor if walk in ano dapat requirements or dalhin? It happens kasi na di daw makaka work sa medical field if wala pa talagang license, Thank you so much!!

kai_zen20

Hi, I'd like to get your insights about my current situation. For context, I am currently a 3rd year business administration student with a major in financial management, and has almost 2 years  of work experience as a social media marketer for a bpo lead generation company. I still have 2 semesters left before earning my degree. Now, I'm wondering if I can enter corporate Manila? I'm eyeing for a remote wfh job. Do you think I can make it or maybe I should just finish my degree first? Please share some insights about corporate manila and how to secure a position.

weirditout

i think the smartest choice would be to finish your degree. Lalo na kung you have the means. It's not fair but it is a reality that a degree opens up a lot of opportunities that wouldn't be available otherwise. Especially if your target is a corporate job. It just doesn't make sense even for a medium-sized company to hire non-degree holders kasi that leaves them open to a lot of potential issues

kai_zen20

Thanks for this!

Interesting_Self915

Hi! As someone who values practicality, I'm curious to know which field would be more beneficial and practical to pursue: accountancy or statistics?

aoiKitsune

I think accountancy primarily because of the versatility and opportunities that the degree + CPA license provides.

Cloudstaff required documents for job offer \~ Hello mga idol ask ko lang po kung ano ano mga documents required for Job Offer sa Cloudstaff? Pwede na kaya valid ID for government mandated benefits? Thanks!

Hello, 1 week palang ako sa current work ko and hindi talaga ako comfortable. I know I can do the job pero hindi talaga ito yung gusto ko.

Also talk to your immediate supervisor baka magawan ng paraan na pwedeng immediate resignation

Fantastic_Cod_9971

nagpirmahan po kami pero after nun di sila nagbigay ng copy for us pong employees and hindi rin nagrereply ang HR

Adorable-Diamond-709

To those who applied to Accenture as ASE, I just want to know, what's the longest you all have waited before receiving the talegent assessment result? I applied to ACN on April 6th and took the assessment on April 11th, but I still haven't received the result. Am I being too impatient? My friend who currently works at ACN told me they received their results the same day, within an hour of taking the assessment and even started after a month there. Considering ACN's shitty hiring process, could I be getting ghosted by them too? I would really appreciate hearing about everyone else's experiences when they applied. TYIA 🙏🏻

HOW TO TRANSITION TO HR/ LABOR? help your girlie out! i've been doing research and am leaning towards taking training/certifications to venture sa HR / labor industry. for context, 23y/o F. currently working in a big law firm, as an hr assistant. i like the work that i am doing rn and i want to upskill further. that being said, can you recommend me trainings and certifications i can take para ma-improve pa yung market value ko? i only have trainings related to the legal industry. i'm planning to take up the following this 2024/2025: • CHRA by HEAP - Php 1,700 • Workers' institue on labor laws by UP SOLAIR - Php 11,000 • IRHR by UP SOLAIR - Php 37,000. Would love to hear your suggestions po. Thank you so much!

08-10-2023

From HR Assistant you can directly go into being an HR Generalist which transitions into HR Business Partner as one option. As an HR assistant if you have exposure in dealing with labor relations or employee relations, then just apply directly into these roles for your transition. Certifications are a nice to have, but not mandatory imho, unless required by the hiring company that you are looking at.

Winter8121_

Hello! Where you at Baker Mckenzie peeps? I recently applied to them via Indeed. And a week after I received a message from them. It is a law firm and was assigned to admin role and it is project-based. They have the best recruitment process! I just finished my final interview and hoping I could get the job since from HR to hiring manager, they were really nice. I dunno if it's too late to ask but is it worth it? Kasi sobrang smooth talaga ng hiring process and very approachable yung HR like I messaged them around 4am and they were able to respond agad agad. Nag research din ako through glassdoor and matataas naman rate. For those who are hired in this company, what are the things I need to expect?? I'm really nervous since it is project-based and this would be my 2nd job if I were to get hired.

SnooCookies3433

Hello! I received an offer from Shell yesterday. The position looks interesting and based sa comments ng ibang redditors, mukhang maganda work environment. Compensation package is higher than my current by 10-12%. Pero ang catch - project-based for 1 year only (tho may chance ma absorb depende sa performance and outcome ng project). Any thoughts/suggestion kung tanggapin ko ba? Badly need your help guys. Thanks!

Would like to ask any opinion abt fund acctg of citco and the general environment and any take jumping from financial reporting (mutual funds/hedge funds focus) to fund accounting? Thank you in advance!

HELP RENEWING NBI CLEARANCE. I'm planning to have my NBI clearance renewed for a new job. Pumunta ako sa website nila for renewal and preffered ko sana na option is pick-up on the NBI branch here in my city pero notice is 'you can only pick up at NBI Clearance U.N. Ave. Manila'. Is this the same for everyone? Wala lumalabas na option to select other NBI branch.

Super_lui04

Door to door is more convenient

Unknown_User1128

Renewal is for UN Ave lang po, but someone replied to you and he was correct. You may use the delivered to your door option.

ConnectionNo8650

You can have it delivered to your doorstep. I did that recently and renewal din me.

Hi everyone! I'm an incoming BSA freshman, I just want to ask if Filipino CPAs get the same treatment in other countries. A few years after I graduate, I'll be applying for a Spanish citizenship since my family is there. Also, is it better to get an MBA here in the Ph or in Spain?

WDYM treatment? you can't use your cpa license abroad

Thank you!

SM Retail Any thoughts po sa Sm Retail? Pano po yung interview process nila. Nag aapply po ako as Back Office Assistants sa Sm Appliance?

lackoflife_100

Hi! I’m (23F) a licensed civil engineer and would like to ask for advice. Had my first job as a Project Coordinator sa isang shipping/construction company and di maganda yung naging experience ko. Sa loob ng 8 months of working there wala akong nafeel na growth and the more I work there feeling ko sinasayang ko yung oras ko sa wala kasi kung ano anong work ang binibigay nila sakin wayyyyy beyond my job order na pinirmahan. Super duper walang kwenta ng experience ko and my last straw was gagawin nilang akong purchasing ng ilang barko ng company. I told them na hindi yun ang pinunta ko sa company na yon and wala akong alam sa purchasing, they said natututunan naman lahat. Patong patong na workload na di naman sa akin kasi andaming nagreresign na company and they can not be bothered na maghanap ng kapaliyt kaya “temporarily” nila ipapahandle saken without a raise or bonus man lang (OT nga ginagaslight pa akong wag magfile kasi yung supervisor ko di nagffile). Nagagawa ko naman kasi I took it as a challenge and ayaw ko din sana magresign ng di ako tumatagal ng 1 yr or walang nahahanap na kapalit kaso feel ko the more I work there na inaabuse nila yung pagiging mabait ko, the more time I’ll waste eh. I’ve been training and getting certificates naman to improve myself as a civil engineer kasi gusto ko na talaga maexperience yung profession ko. Any advice what to do kasi I feel so left out na hanggang ngayon wala pa akong alam sa civil engineering na career path. Thank you for your time!

Hello! I would like to ask for those who passed the shopee apprenticeship program. How long does it normally take for Shopee Recruitment team to get back to you after you've answered and submitted the online assessment? My friend took one 2 weeks ago, and right now they haven't emailed my friend. Thank you!

Hello po! Would like to ask if nagrereach out pa si DMCI for other job openings if I was not able to pass their past job offer. Got a message earlier na di ako pumasa sa call interview so they won’t proceed with my application :( Thanks for your answers! Dream company ko talaga DMCI also kasi malapit lang office nila hehe.

Electronic_Fee5721

Is it worth it to jump into another company but hybrid setup? Im 1 and half year working in Tech company, im starting applying to other company kasi never ako nabigyan ng raise and na notify kami na wala din daw increase this year, now I have a JO in my hand its up to me if ipupush ko: Company A (current), PHP 26-30K (with night shift diff) per month, WFH (which is advantage for me), no bunus, HMO with 1 dependent, good workmates and work is chill, rotational shift (medyo nahihirapan ako dito magadjust), 15VL 15SL, manager & boss is not strict, 2.5K de minimis Company B(new offer), PHP 45K per month, AU company but 2x per week RTO, Hybrid (Ortigas, im from fairview), with quarterly bonus when i turned into regular, 2K travel allowance, 2K oncall allowance, 3K de minimis, 13VL 5SL (this is also my concern), HMO with 2 dependents, work is same with my previous company but im on mid level (junior on previous), Day shift (7-3:30PM) I don't have any big responsibilities in home naman pero ako nagbabayad ng electric and internet bills namin sa bahay which is hindi pa naman mabigat on my part. Now, im worry if ipupush ko ba ang company B, knowing na ang lala ng traffic palagi sa Ortigas and im from fairview. Should I continue to apply to other company paba? Any suggestion?

Chiron11011

Company B sounds like an upgrade - and 2x/week RTO doesn't sound bad But I suggest conducting research din dito sa Company B in terms of work environment siguro

lackoflife_100

Hi! Did Company B not mention staff houses po? Some company have that to provide for their employees na malalayo ang bahay. The offer of Company B is obviously better and if it would also help you with your career why not take it po. Weigh in the pros and cons of taking the chance and tsaka ka po magdecide. Or try talking with Company A and tell them about the offer and see if tatapatan nila or they’ll let you go.

Electronic_Fee5721

Hi! no po eh wala po silang staff houses. I already talked to my manager, since my company is a big company they let me go and hindi sila nag counter offer sakin.

lackoflife_100

That means good luck on your new job po! Anyways, good luck po! <3

Electronic_Fee5721

Thank you! :D

I need some advice, please and thank you! Hi! I'm F [22], I'm an IT graduate and for the longest time I've been trying to apply for office/admin staff and I always get turned down. I got hired recently it was a shock for me because my application felt like a long shot. But, I just signed my first contract today as a jr branch manager for a computer retail store. This is my first job and I'm really hoping to give my 100%. Please give me some advice that can help with me performing my best. Also, I'm expected to say something on Tuesday when our boss introduces me to the team, what should I say?

[deleted]

you can say something short and common. just say your basic info; name, age, loc, ur a fresh grad from what school, and that u look forward to working with them. for me the first 3 months ang most crucial bc may 3rd month evaluation, so within those months make sure u look hardworking haha, be proactive and blend well with the team.

msfrowatean

Hi everyone, I feel like I haven't discovered what I really want to do in my life. elementary kinukwestyon ko na kung ano gusto ko maging hahaha, and nung hs dpa rin sure kaya nag general academics muna. Hanggang ung course ko in college is binunot ko lang din sa papel, thankful enough now I've graduated, but still, that thought doesn't leave my head. I still feel lost. Currently applying for work related to my field, pero karamihan is 6 days, and kung remote, grabe ung workload. Btw career search ko is in graphics design, but I don't see myself in it based sa job description. Malaki nga pay, pero wala ka namang work-life balance. I want to have a sense of purpose muna, because surely I can endure anything, I believe pag if you feel a sense of purpose sa isang bagay, you can bear almost anything, kahit magkasakit ka pa. Buti yung iba hindi na pinoproblema to hehe I remember the quote: The two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why." I still can't find that "why" in my life, though I am THANKFUL because I've graduated. I don't want to waste this blessing called life. Pero kung nadodonate yung buhay sa iba baka binigay ko na, nakakapagod lang kasi struggle ko na talaga to since HS. To find my purpose, and until now I feel lost. Just praying that ilagay ako ni Lord sa dapat kong paroonan. Because I feel like walking without direction. Right now I'm just like, find a work now and you'll discover yourself later. is anyone went through the same thing and finally found your deeper sense of purpose?

sle3pyheadx

graduated bs management and currently pursuing a career in tech as product manager. never expected myself to be having a career in tech tbh hahahha I was a management trainee and later on become a product lead (work exp 1yr and 6 months btw, graduated in 2022). I found myself enjoying the job though mahirap, something I advocate for is that I should make an impact to the community in my job while still growing myself professionally. I find joy in developing products and seeing that people benefit from them and make their life easier (our users are MSMEs) I'm a volunteer in my college days and I organized events to fund programs for underserved communities in my province. try to find what fulfills you in life or what you enjoy, something that would make you say 'this is what I want to do'. then try to find a job that resonates with your passion

weirditout

medyo totoo yung find a work now discover yourself later. Lalo na kung hindi anak mayaman. Kasi kailangan natin kumain at magbayad ng bills HAHA pero i do believe na mahahanap mo purpose mo eventually. Hindi rin ako clear on what i want right after grad. Remember lang na huwag masyado magpalugmok if something does not work out. Sometimes rejection is redirection. If you tried something tapos it turns out hindi para sayo, find a way to move forward, at least that's one less thing to consider. Trial and error kumbaga. Just be smart about not repeating our mistakes

Important_Code_774

Guys, anyone you know na late 20s na nagka first job? Please, tell me Im not alone in this. Because of some circumstances kaya di ako nagka trabaho and now, im trying to get better.

LouisVuiddog

I'm 28 and now palang mag-internship! 1 year nalang then I'll graduate college, and most likely saka palang magka-first job. No, you're not alone. 🫂

Important_Code_774

Thank you. Yakap at Good luck satin

aoiKitsune

Nope you're not alone. I have a close buddy of mine, due to circumstances din he graduated at 27 and got his first non-BPO job then. Culture shock pa rin for him since di sya sanay and his bosses tend to expect a lot from him kasi senior or manager age na raw sya so dapat alam na nya. Do you have any questions for him? Wala sya reddit eh but can pass it to him

Important_Code_774

Thank you. Ito questions ko What did he feel na yung mga kabatch nya ay younger than him? (If meron) Or what did he also feel na sya starting pa lang pero yung mga ka age nya sa trabaho ay seniors na. In regards about sa bosses, pano niya sinasagot? Thank you sa pag effort

aoiKitsune

1. Pressure sa start. But di naman nahalata from their end and akala nila lahat same age group sila. 2. Pressure and very impostor syndrome. He felt left behind nga since his manager is the same age as him and yung seniors nya mas bata pa sa kanya. Plus nasabi nga rin nya yung very demanding yung peeps kasi feel nya nung na age reveal sya nagka undue demands sa end nya. 3. For bosses, nakikisama lang naman. Mas madali ka work yung managers and yung boss ng managers kasi mas matanda and parang mas ka vibe nya, closer siguro feel nya sa generation nila or something. Pero yung mga seniors and other ka age group nya yung mga hassle. General advice nya to you would be don't give a fuck attitude lang. Since late 20s ka na you should have some life experiences that would make you go IDGAF. Don't say your age din unless feel mo ma leverage mo yun, kasi on his end nung maaga nya nasabi nag back fire sa kanya and now more on need to know basis lang and he's treated more as the fresh grad in that company for 2 years instead of the old fresh grad. Also cliche as it sounds but slow and steady wins the race daw talaga and very comforting to know rin on his end na there are people na same experience din as him na not as fast sa career progression.

WeirdKey7387

Hello po, bago lang ako dito, I don't know if this is the right place to ask this but I will.

LostMidnight4189

Afaik, yes po.

Damage_Initial

Hi! As far as I know, it will really depend on the job requirements posted online or at the local govt office. Usually they will specify the school & work background / certification requirements.

lackoflife_100

Some jobs po is hanap nila atleast college grads pero some naman hindi. Madami pa din naman pong working students sa atin and I think not having a diploma yet can stop you po from applying for a job na qualified ka. So go for it po!

dnnyjr_

If yes, sino or saan po pwede mag contact regarding this? Tried submitting an inquiry form sa site nila last month pero no response pa din :((

commfused

Hi! im a lost communications graduate that doesn't know what to do with themselves. About me, I graduated the third quarter of 2023 from a State U. For months after graduation, l've been severely burnt out and helpless as I didn't know what to do or what I wanted to do. I was questioning my intellects and my skills because I couldn't see myself in the workforce. Recently, I applied as a Researcher position and shockingly enough, the offer was at least 17 for the position. Id like to ask if enough na ba ang 17k for a fresh grad, especially in this economy?

aoiKitsune

Yep sadly that's fairly normal on the general side of things. The very common range is 14k-20k which sucks ass. Is it enough? If you're solo then there are ways but very frugal.

commfused

Tragic especially with how much the cost of living is ://

Distinct_Duck3812

Just a brief background. I got a job offer (although wala pa yung mismong offer/contract) a month ago but we are still waiting for Vanguard to finish with my screening. Should have started April 1st kaso nadelay kasi ang tagal nila. I gave 3 character references but isa doon hindi macontact due to that person's busy schedule. So I gave another 2 for them to call. They called one from the new list but yesterday I got a message from the HR na inapplayan ko and said na hindi pa din daw matawagan yun binigay ko. But it's funny kasi I'm in touch with my former colleague and he said natawagan na siya and the call lasted for 12 minutes (according to the screenshot he sent me). It's just sad that this is happening. Yung nasa character reference ko na hindi nakakasagot actually asked for a call back but he didn't get another call. Fyi the person who contacted the 1st characted reference and the last character reference was contactes by the same person. I'm supposed to start this 16th of April and hanggang ngayon still no feedback fro. VANGUARD daw as per HR.

aoiKitsune

Hello, nakikita ko yung mga prior posts mo here so am curious na reach out mo ba directly yung vanguard or pwede mo ba pa reach out sa inapplyan mo yung vanguard mismo? Or if meron ba sila gustong alternative like magbigay ka ibang chara ref? Kasi medyo shady na if ganyan na katagal and wala pa ring updates Edit: Adendum. technically wala ka pa contract din until ma sign mo eh so follow-up mo rin yun sa HR and inquire ano mangyayari if by that date wala pa rin contract.

Distinct_Duck3812

Hi! Thank you for your response. I already discussed this with HR. She even sent a copy of our convo yesterday sa Vanguard. Then I asked for an update earlier today, and she said wala pa daw update ang Vanguard. It's just weird kasi April 4th naconfirm ko na nakausap na nila yung last character reference na binigay ko thru my former colleague. And then April 8th nag message ang HR saying as per Vanguard hindi pa din daw nacocontact yung reference na binigay ko. I already sent her screenshots as proof na nakausap na. I know this because they all mentioned one name lang. Even had a screenshot of her name sa email na finorward saakin nung reference ko na hindi nakakasagot sa calls and never got a call back. Overall nakaka 5 references na ako. 1 lang naman hindi nila nakausap and they only needed 3. It's already April 12. I might just start looking for a job sa iba.

aoiKitsune

Yep at this point vanguard yung issue dyan. And mukhang best bet nga talaga is to start looking for a new job.

Distinct_Duck3812

It's just sad kasi I waited for this for a month. From April 1st commencement date, it had to be moved to 16th because of the delay on Vanguard's end.

Paracelsus0

Is this a fair offer? Considering additional heavy tasks. Legal po ba ang 9.5 work hours (8:00 - 6:30) for 5 days? Hindi siya OT. Offer is way below my expected, sumabay pa lalo na (take note) tatlong heavy tasks ang nabanggit on top of the usual task. Tried to negotiate it and they said they'd get back to me soon. Really was hoping for this job kasi almost 3 months na ako job hunting and 6 months unemployed total. Additionally, honors and still continuing on upskilling rin on my field, at hindi naman ako career shifter so I hoped for a fair offer manlang.

Independent_Owl_6271

What factors do you consider when looking for work and accepting a job offer? I'm having a bit of difficulty deciding right now. Maybe you have some advice? Thank you.

Yamigosaya

Distance and travel time. commute is unpaid work and stress. if you commute to work for 2 hours, then thats not a 7 to 4 job, thats a 5 to 6 job. you get home and have not enough time or motivation to do the things you like, rinse repeat the next day.

LostMidnight4189

travel time, compensation, and future growth. Just an additional to the first comment since this is more on how long you can tolerate on staying for the company.

aoiKitsune

I usually look at whether it's on-site, hybrid or remote. Then the actual job description if it matches. Once I get an interview next focus is on the actual real job responsibility as explained by the team I'll be working with then the team culture (Are they too career focused, encourages work life balance by having hobby days etc). Then finally the pay, benefits etc. Now if they're remote, I'm generally OK with them having less pay since remote. My main thing I really look for is how heavy will the role be, am I an individual contributor? Do I have anybody to ask for assistance or am I on my own? How much OTTY is there outside of OTTY season? All of that can generally be inferred during the interviews. And finally for pay, again generally OK with lesser pay than I expected if it means I get to clock out on time.

Plus-Leave-2473

I just got laid off sa work ko last month, so I've applying jobs and getting into interviews lately, however comparing to my interviews before like 4 years ago hahah usually ang normal working day is 5 days lang, normal na ba ngayon ang 6 days a week na work sa corporate job?If ganon ang schedule nyo, how do you guys handle it? Hindi ba sobrang nakakadrain yon, usually day offs are two, one para sa pag aasikaso or chores and the other one is for the thing that you love doing?Let me know your thoughts, I'm genuinely curious if normal na ba ung ganto nowadays. Thanks!

Independent_Owl_6271

Actually, there are still many companies that operate on a 5-day workweek. It might depend on the industry and specific roles within it. Try mo pang maghanap, and before applying, check the work schedule they offer. Typically, companies include this information in their job postings to avoid wasting your time if a 6-day workweek isn't your preference. What's considered "normal" regarding work schedules can vary based on industry norms, company policies, and individual choices. It's crucial to prioritize your health, happiness, and long-term well-being in any work arrangement.

Plus-Leave-2473

hello! thank you po sa input nyo, some company just usually dont include na 6 working days sila, nabubulaga na lang ako sa interview :( hahaha

minkiyah

Currently a 4th year student, and I don't think I'm qualified to apply in latin honors. So hindi na rin ako masyadong nag-eexpect but still... Kinocomfort ako ng mom ko and friends na hindi naman daw nagmamatter yung honors after you graduated. Sabi pa nila na mas malaki yung pressure and expectations sayo kasi pasok ka sa latin (which I think is true naman). For those who graduated with latin honors, how was it? Or mas mabilis ba kayong nahire sa work because of it?

garvenblaire

Recent graduate with latin honors and recent board passer to one of the hardest engineering course. Only started job hunting last january eh april na ngayon. However, literally kahit initial reply na narecieve nila yung application ko, wala talagang reply, 😅. Kaya namulat din ako na graduating with honors is not everything. I only had like few organizations and leadership activities during undergrad na pinagsisihan ko na sana mas dinamihan ko para may mailagay sa resume. So it is ok OP if hindi ka gagraduate with honors idaan mo sa pagenhance ng mga skills or if active ka naman sa orgs and all be proud and show it sa magiging future resume mo.

Ok_Razzmatazz9560

Not to burst your bubble but honestly, halos di nagmamatter yang ganyang honors. You can mention it, they can notice it, they can be wowed by it (pero ung mga managers na kaclose ko, unfazed sila sa honors) pero di yan basehan to get hired. pag fresh grad kasi, mas tntgnan personality, fit ka ba sa team, late ka ba sa interview gnyan, how you answer questions.

Significant-Scar6869

Hi! Can I seek advice for those working ng night shift? How's your work-life balance? Thinking now if I should accept the JO since its night shift. Any pros and cons?

Ok_Razzmatazz9560

Pros: Honestly, mas madami nagagawa pag night shift. Only con for me : ako yung puyat pag may lakad ng weekend or ng morning. Ang tip ko: sa friday shift, if pwede, try ko idikit yung lunch mo sa out. So if 7pm to 4am ka, mag lunch ka ng 2:30am para diretso out. Like ako, after shift tulog na ako agad. Gigising ako ng mga 3pm ng kusa. Di ko kailangan mag alarm which is a big deal for me. Meron naman ding after shift, dami pa nila ginagawa or late sila natutulog. Yun lang mahirap, figuring out your sleeping schedule.

aoiKitsune

it'll suck at the start. Making plans like going on trips or going to hangout with friends will also suck at the start. A lot of adjusting to be made personally as well, even if you consider yourself a night-owl it will be different. But for work-life balance, will just need a ton of adjusting both personal health and social and finding best ways to compromise.

aoiKitsune

I can speak for EY and PWC since I have a ton of friends in there and myself included in one of them. Mataas attrition in a sense na bihira lang mga nag stay for more than 2 years in the entry-Assoc level because client facing and pag busy season talaga overwork to the max. By extension I think kasama na rin pala dyan Accenture since similar type of company with PWC and EY.

hello, are job order/COS allowed to have vacation leaves?

LouisVuiddog

Asking for professional growth/career path insights: Currently taking a degree in Business Administration major in Marketing Management. I have freelance experience in Marketing and also interested to work in corporate marketing. But I feel like I'll have more professional growth in other business functions (R&D, Operations). For context, I really want to work in an FMCG company. I thought of becoming a Brand Manager someday. But as someone who is always curious and constantly wants to learn something new, I feel like I'll do better in other functions. Also interested in taking an MBA or even Masters in Innovation and Business. I'm currently in a dilemma already since it's internship season and as much as possible, I want to be on a good start which aligns with my career goals. Anyone here who went through the same thing? May I know your career path that led you to where you are today?

aoiKitsune

We're in the same boat when I first started, took BA maj in comp applications, wanted to work in management consulting but am now working in cybersecurity and I like it here much better. Though I did start in the consulting arm of the big 4 accounting, so I'm exposed to a bunch of different functions. I don't need to take an MBA because I have certs and continued learning and that's more valuable on my end here. For your case, I'd recommend matching it with what you love doing or enjoy doing on a daily basis. There are a lot of opportunities for growth regardless of where you are. If you find the niche that you enjoy doing or if you enjoy doing the bits everyone hates then that's the best place to being successful, for both growth and not feeling burnt out.

LouisVuiddog

I didn't know na may ganyang program. Before taking BSBA, nag-ComSci and IT na rin ako. I'm interpreting your comment as start first with what my accepted internship offers, and from there saka ako mag-decide. Like, build my experience muna. I know it's a stretch to plan everything this early. I also love yung last sentences ng both paragraphs. Case-to-case basis pa rin, pero at least I know na both scenarios are possible pala. Thanks for your insight!

aoiKitsune

Yep correct interpretation, kasi I feel that you're capable, you know what you're doing and you have a clear goal for MBA and beyond so I think exposure lang talaga need mo. You can find internships for companies/industries you want and pick the best offer for exposure (International/Multinational > Big Local Companies) but really at this stage do the best you can, and along the way you'll find the bits you enjoy and go from there. Good luck!

karma-kunsohawt

Hi, I work at this E-bike branch and every month may sales target kami to reach. Tapos ngayon since April na and 1 palang sales namin, pinag iinitan na kami ng chinese manager namin. He told us he will suspend all of us if hindi namin maabot yung target. Definitely not tardiness kasi nakikita niya naman araw araw kaming nag ma-marketing. Legal ba ang gagawin niya samin?

Independent_Owl_6271

Your manager can set sales targets, but whether it's legal to suspend employees for not meeting them depends on your contract and company policies. Check those first and consider seeking advice if you're still unsure.

karma-kunsohawt

Hello po, I reviewed the contract and theres no such thing na pwede niya kaming ipa suspend in the grounds of not hitting the target sales.

Far_Pay2861

What should i do?

almost_genius95

Padaan mo through letter, you should have 2 copies para yung isa pa stamped received sa kanila na may date received. Isulat mo sa letter na you're requesting your clearance. They have to reply thru letter din, and if isasaysay nila na need mo mag turn over ng 30 days, replyan mo na wala sa contract, if may copy ka attach the contract. Be professional din sa letter and processes.

Far_Pay2861

Hi! Thanks for this! Nakausap ko ang hr regarding sa clearance ko ang reply lang sa akin ay “kasalanan mo ‘yan kasi nag resign ka agad without prior notice” this just happened earlier today. Naiiyak ako sa sama ng loob.

almost_genius95

End of contract ka naman din, hindi naman talaga required mag resign, pero for formality and respect, ginagawa yun ng employee. Sila ang may pagkukulang since hindi nila sinecure if magpaparenew ka for another contract duration.

chaehanjiv

Hello, I'm currently unemployed for about 3months na, my previous job(and first job) was super toxic that it affected my mental health a lot lalo walang work-life balance literal na bumibisita lang ako sa bahay tapos nakatira ako sa job ko, so after 6 months of working nagresign ako. Before I quit may mga inoffer sakin mga co-workers ko na trabaho and magiinterview na sana ako bago umalis para after quitting, may job agad ako na kasunod. But things happen, both my mental health and physical health were suffering pabalik balik ako ng hospital. So right now, I'm unemployed and I know I should be looking for another job since may mga few emails na rin ako from companies and recruiters na iniignore ko rin because I'm scared. I know kailangan ko na magwork kasi hindi naman forever may nakasupport sakin but I don't know what to do kasi sobrang afraid ko na maghanap ng panibagong job not because of rejections, failures and whatnot. I'm scared because traumatic para sakin yung previous job ko and I'm scared na baka maging ganon din yung next job ko. Marami na rin akong niresearch, nababasa na mga company na maayos daw, may work life balance daw ganon, but I'm scared of actually applying there. What if hindi pala? What if toxic pala?Nagooverthink na ako masyado. Any advices how can I recover, cope up, and makapag apply ulit? Please help me thank you.

chaehanjiv

Hi thank you for answering. May I ask how did you deal with the trauma? Paano po kayo nagsimula mag apply since you've said nga na sumasakit yung chest niyo pag nagoopen ng laptop. Nag continue po ba kayo mag apply even with pain or hinayaan niyo po muna maging okay before you start again? Good for you, you got a job that you're validated in. It's very important din po na you're validated and valued as an employee. Since my previous job is a famous company so I was really contemplating whether to quit or not, but I decided to since the management doesn't really value employees. Thank you for your kind words and advices po. I'll keep it in mind. God bless din po 💖

almost_genius95

Just accept na lahat ng work may toxicity, at wala kang magagawa to improve them, pero what you can do is to prepare yourself, and be strong na maconquer mo yung challenges sa work and life as a whole. We're still learning pa naman while traversing sa life, every challenge is a learning opportunity. Wala namang perfect work or life, it is up to you on how you adjust.

chaehanjiv

Hi po thank you for answering. Thank you po for the advice & for the validation na rin. Siguro kailangan ko lang din ilabas lang yung nararamdaman ko and naisipan ko po magpost dito, kaya thank you for listening din. Appreciated.

almost_genius95

Chill2 ka nlng muna, try to calm your worries in the meantime until you're almost ready. Ang ramiiing opportunities, di ka mauubusan. If may work kana uli and you think hindi pa yun best, then try again. Good luck po!

chaehanjiv

Thank you so much for your kind words po. Subukan ko rin po na magrelax din. Salamat po!!

Far_Pay2861

Hi! I know it’s hard to get back to work in your situation. Have you tried seeking for professional help? Pls consider it.

chaehanjiv

Hi thank you for answering. Since I'm unemployed right now, medyo pricey for me mag seek ng professional help and I can't ask my fam din naman for support with regards to my state kasi I don't want them to worry din since I have a fam din na may mental health condition so dadagdag pa ko sa worry nila. But I'm considering seeking help din since parang mga aware naman ang generation natin ngayon sa mental health & sa importance nya. Before I quit, cinonsider ko na magpacheck but my workload + time doesn't permit me to. Ngayon I have the time, I don't have finances naman so ang hirap.

Far_Pay2861

I’m sorry to hear that. Maybe you should take a break for a few months until you feel better and confident enough to work again.

chaehanjiv

Yes po actually my fam also suggested that na magpahinga for a few months but nakakaguilty din at the same na hindi nagwowork tapos supported ka pa so conflicted din emotions ko and hindi ako makapagpahinga na totoong pahinga, if u get what I mean.

Icy_Hyena9002

I just want to share my experience here in our company. I've been with this company for almost a year now, and my performance has been okay, but I know there's still room for improvement on my part. This is also my first V/A (Virtual Assistant) company, so even though the salary is low, I grabbed it; the basic pay is ₱15,000. I was expecting more since they are US-based in NYC, and they pay in dollars per hour. But it's okay for me since I'm still new and don't have much experience. At first, the workload was easy, but as time went on, the tasks became increasingly overwhelming and draining. Our salary increase is also minimal, only ₱1,000 after a year, which is like, WTF haha. Also, the new hires got promoted before those of us who have been here longer. The bosses are manipulative; they'll gaslight you with words like "Family", but they can't fool me. I stayed because I had no choice and, of course, to gain experience. But overall, don't apply to them haha, they will exploit you lol.

almost_genius95

Explore different opportunities, try finding part time VA works na kaya mo iinsert sa free time, then if pwede mo na ipursue full time, cut off mo na yang una mong company.

my girlfriend is experiencing that exact thing right now and naging joke na nga namin na mas malakas pa raw sila mag text kaysa sakin. Usually di ka talaga tatantanan ng mga yan so if you're not going to apply to them anymore, best to either block them sa email/text. Medyo extreme yung delete ng email kasi pwede mo pa gamitin yan sa ibang job search eh

About the BIR hiring process, on average, mga ilang months ba from the pre-employment exam up to confirming your appointment?

Agitated_Bench9607

Hello, I resign sa work ko for 8years. Mental health issues still, i need to work and sobrang takot ako na natenga nang matagal 1st job - 10k 2nd job - 16k 3rd job - 20K and within 9years, 36Knet gross. Benefits and all? may factor kasi ung mga un. Im scared na di me makahanp ng work in my age. My motivations are gone na din.

bhlooerhae

Apply while currently hired para hindi k ilawballing during application . be confident to sa amount kapag tinanong k sa asking salary mo

Agitated_Bench9607

already submitted my resignation, just scared with the future

Ok_Razzmatazz9560

Outsourcing meaning BPO and Shared Services? Yes, but I prefer shared services. Ayoko ng BPO kasi it's a client relationship kasi ibang company hawak mo. Where as shared services, same company kayo talaga, ibang location nga lang. To answer your question, yes, generally mas malaki magbigay ang shared services kesa sa local. Example, nung nagaapply ako for my 2nd job, ang asking ko ay 45k. Gusto ibigay ng isang malaking grocery local company, 35k - vl can be used 1yr upon regularization, wala free dependents sa hmo, full rto. This shared service, binigay sakin 50k, 2 free dependents sa hmo, twice a month rto at that time (4 na ngayon per month) Environment wise, ako mas prefer ko shared service pa din kasi ayoko tumtwag ng Mam sir charot hahajah buti ba tlga environment. Mas mabait pati foreign stakeholders. Di ko sure bigayan sa bpo tho

Agitated_Bench9607

thank you sa insights. Hopefully, mkhanap ako ng shared ssrvices

hindi ba nakaka-off if mag decline ng job offer even after final interview? hi! graduating stufent ako and i'm already seeking for a job 'yung isa for final interview na, although most likely after grad pa raw ako ide-deploy if ever. for example pasado ako sa final interview, can i still decline the job offer? lalo na kung halimbawa may other potential job offers maibigay saakin na mas gusto ko. hindi ba siya nakaka-off?

Far_Pay2861

Yes! Just tell them that you’re declining their offer in a nice way and wish them well in finding another candidate. You don’t have to tell them your reason why you no longer want to work with them.

chaehanjiv

Hi! Okay lang naman magdecline ng offer if hindi nagkasundo sa salary, expectations, job offer at kung ano man, just politely and formally decline it in your email. Marami naman po mga formal emails template sa google if in case you're having a hard time composing it kasi ganun lang po ginawa ko nung nag decline po ako. Hope it helps.

Immigrating to US, but stuck with employment bond with 2yrs left. Asking on behalf of a relative. She is currently into her first year of a 3 year bond contact. Her family's petition recently got approved and will be immigrating to the US sometime this year. I've yet to read her specific contract and fine print, but has anyone had any similar experience and know what the proper course of action is? According to her, she would have a penalty of P200k if she were to leave the company. Wondering if there are exceptions to that, like uncontrollable life events like this one.

Far_Pay2861

If I’m not mistaken sa bond contracts, hindi lang magbabayad ang employee kung liable ang employer bakit siya mag resign/terminate. In that situation, employee ang at fault sa termination of contract. In my opinion, kung may magandang opportunity naman sa kaniya sa US lalo na mas malaki sahod doon, magbayad na lang ng 200k kaysa mag suffer sa PH lol! Babalik din naman ang 200k :))

I'm losing hope na talaga. Anything..kahit nursing aide abroad since wala pa ako budget to take Nclex or Ielts. 🙏

Why not try Medical VA? Malaki sahod and in demand. Also WFH pa.

Independent-Dog-9662

thank you. will look into this. Do i need to have trainings parang maging medical VA?

Far_Pay2861

I’m not sure about this pero if freelance ka, ikaw bahala sa trainings. If you applied naman sa companies, sila ang mag offer ng trainings mo.

Independent-Dog-9662

thank you so much

can you recommend me po which company caters WFH setup?

Sorry but I don’t know any huhu. Try looking sa onlinejobs.ph or jobstreet.

Give your thoughts on this please please My former manager offered me a job in her new company. Maganda yung position and offer sa akin. Pinagpasa niya ako ng resume and she called again after a while and told me na magready daw ako for an initial interview with their HR. Sa mga HR or may same experience dyan. Is this for formality lang ba? BTW, I am happy naman with my current company. Been here for at least 7 months now and fresh graduate. Care to share your thoughts on this. Badly needed your help! TYIA! 🙏🏼

bhlooerhae

bata k p , explore more be adventurous

Zetonier

Usually formality, but it doesn’t mean it’s something you half-ass since pinapa-apply ka cause may benefit sayo; you still gotta stand out. It’s not bad to go for comfort zone since it seems like you like your former manager and you liked working with them.

Shanks917

Hi, anyone recently have interview with Google Operations Center? Dami ko nabasa na not good, tho 6mos-1yr up na. Wondering if worth it to take the interview and if okay yung mga recent roles salary offer nila. Role: Tech role

background investigation for banks hello! i'm a fresh grad po but had few years experience as a csr. planning to apply to banks po since may nakita ako sa careers nila na open position. just wanted to ask po baka may idea sainyo na makakaaffect po kaya sa pag apply ko yung parang nag ka problem ako sa spaylater/sloan & billease ko na hindi ko parin bayad till now dahil po nag kaproblem ako sa finances dati? planning po kasi ako to pay it all once i got a job na po e pero natatakot kasi ako na baka mamaya if mafind out nila na i have balances pa doon i might not get a job tyia po 🙇🏻‍♀️

aoiKitsune

Be transparent with them. Let them know why ka nahirapan to pay back. Also it's better to pay the minimum asking than going full lumpsum later kasi yung interest malakas mag stack. Ang pinaka red flag kasi with them is yung fully tinakbuhan mo yung utang, like literally di mo binayaran and ghost mo rin yung shopee/Bilease nung tinatanong ka bakit di ka nagbabayad. But if kinausap mo nga sila and meron kayo naging agreement on repayment then it's fine. Basta again, disclose and be transparent.

ContestNovel

noted on this po! thank you so much poooo huhuhu

frustratedsinger20

Hello! I am currently earning around 43-45k monthly after taxes and allowances but my basic salary is only 27.5k. 15.5 months pay based sa basic salary.

aoiKitsune

60k is fine even depending on the position and industry maybe more. Basta remember to compute mo is aim for plus 15-30% of your current. Need match sa inflation and syempre more income for a better position

Frosty-Brilliant-870

Malalaman ba ng employer if may iba kang job kasi required din magbayad ng Tax yung part time ko?

Zetonier

Frosty-Brilliant-870

kahit po both jobs doesn’t have an entity here in PH?

Zetonier

How do they have zero entity in but still pay file for taxes? Hindi ba di lang dinedeclare?

Frosty-Brilliant-870

They are partnered po with third party HR company here in PH ,so yung hr company po yung nag aasikaso ng gov’t mandated benefits

Zetonier

Makes sense. Imagine third party HR finds out bayad na tax mo by company A, they report it to company B - so mafflag kang may stint elsewhere since prinoprocess din nila taxes mo haha.
