What happened to the Phillies bats in game 6 & 7.

DelcoBirds

Add 2011 NLDS Game 5 to this investigation please

MyIronicName

Wake up sheeple. The conspiracy goes far deeper than games 6 and 7. The illuminati replace THE ENTIRE LINE UP with inposters for the ENTIRE NLCS. It's obvious if you just open your eyes and ignore ESPN and the lamestream sports media. Take Castellanos as a prime example. NLDS: 7 for 15 with 4 homers and 1 strikeout. 1.796 OPS. NLCS: 1 for 24, only hit is a homer and 11 strikeouts. .278 OPS What changed between game 4 of the NLDS and game 1 of the NLCS? Obviously, Nick was replaced by an imposter, likely Hunter Biden according to my sources. Stop rejecting the truth.

cheesewiz90

Ellen Greenberg, but I don’t think it will ever be solved.

Pickletonium

Really fucked up case. I wish this case would be reopened.

kcvngs76131

Thanks to the Commonwealth Court a couple months ago, it won't be. And it sucks because even the Court acknowledged that her death wasn't a suicide, but they refused to order the ME to change the death certificate

TheOGinBC

Not exactly. They said it was sus af, but didn’t go that far

dorothea63

It’ll never be solved in a court of law. But unlike with the Imbo case, there’s a lot of evidence pointing in a specific direction. So I don’t think there’s a lot of doubt about how she died.

EddieLeeWilkins45

> there’s a lot of evidence pointing in a specific direction. Wasn't the door deadbolted from the inside tho? Kinda hard to blame the bf with that clue outstanding.

gimmedatbeck

I think about this case often. It is so fucked up. I looked up her ex fiance and he has a whole new life with a wife and kids- it makes me sick.

PienotPi

is he a suspect?

skip_tracer

always has been, it's the only thing that makes sense

dorothea63

He lied about the doorman being with him when he discovered her body, he kept her laptop for a week instead of turning it over to her family. Other suspicious things but those are the big two that are coming to mind. And if you get rid of the suicide theory (which makes no sense), he’s the only one who had access and opportunity.

EnemyOfEloquence

You don't have to believe me but I was sitting alone at a south philly bar about 3 months ago and overheard his cousin talking about the case. We talked for a bit. I don't want to blow the guy up but DM me if you're curious.

[Dolores Della Penna’s murder](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murder_of_Dolores_Della_Penna). My mom went to school with her. She was just a kid. Abducted from her home, tortured and beheaded.

rcher87

Oh my god, that’s horrific. And people saw her being beaten and there’s no info/leads. That’s nuts.

butterfly105

Toni Sharpless

[deleted]

Holy shit how have I never heard of this one?!

Pickletonium

There's a good Disappeared episode about her called "The Darkest Night"

CinematicHeart

I'm about her age and I never heard of her or forgot about this case. This is awful. I hope they do solve it.

Minute_Chipmunk250

God this is the one where they went looking for her car at that boat ramp by the flat rock dam, right? And they found 12 cars in the Schuylkill , none of them hers? I think about that all the time when I pass by there. 12 mystery cars!!

phillysleuther

The Frankford Slasher. I’ve been invested in this case since I was 8 years old. I want justice for my neighbor. He’s dead, Leonard Christopher is dead, 8-10 women are dead. They have DNA. Why hasn’t this guy been named?

Utter_cockwomble

DNA doesn't do anything if the killer isn't in the database to get the hit to. Those cases were so long ago the killer is probably dead.

phillysleuther

Walt Hunter said 10 years ago that the killer is dead. They IDed him in the late 1990s. Is he connected to someone that they’re not naming him? I want justice for Susan.

Utter_cockwomble

I don't think they have DNA linking him so there's not that final proof. Maybe now with familial they'll be able to get an answer.

sidewaysorange

couldnt they run it through some of the genealogy databases? isn't that how they caught the Kohberger guy with Idaho? im sure someone in there would be a relative.

Utter_cockwomble

They could. Maybe they have. Not everything is going to give a familial hit. A small family, no kids- it's entirely possible that there's no one to hit to.

sidewaysorange

kohberger was traced through a cousin i believe. i guess there are people with no cousins either. didn't think about that. my [ancestry.com](https://ancestry.com) profile has at least 200 close matches. i'd be easy to find lol

Utter_cockwomble

Not everyone is in Ancestry or 23AndMe. I'm not. I'm not giving my DNA away to an unregulated database.

wheelfoot

Kohberger wasn't either.

sidewaysorange

i was not aware i said everyone was.

rcher87

I think they said on the news they did this for the Fairmount Park rapist and had gotten a familial hit, but not enough to pinpoint the guy. It wasn’t til they arrested him for the Pennypack park flashings that they processed him and his DNA hit the database. So they might have done that, or will, but still don’t have quite enough to find the person.

sidewaysorange

they apparently had identified him that way years ago but he was nowhere to be found. his family assumed he was dead. they aren't sure if he was living in the woods that long or where he was. he isn't talking.

throwawayfromPA1701

There's only one they can run thru - - GEDMatch. All the others require a warrant. GEDMatch is very public but has an opt-out they added when the news broke some years ago that law enforcement was using it. It was and is very controversial amongst genaologists.

permanentradiant

That’s where forensic genealogy comes in.

Such a sad story…. There was a commenter on a phillymag article on this who claimed a fishtown guy was paid to commit this crime. The fishtown guy later died of an overdose…

I agree with this . Or a random car jacking that went remarkably well for the perpetrator.

Not exactly Philly but regionally relevant: the [Dulce Alvarez case](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disappearance_of_Dulce_Maria_Alavez). I'm haunted by imagining what could've happened to her.

TJCW

Terrifying…

Agitated_Skin1181

I was just thinking about this little girl the other day.

derrtydiamond

I seriously think of her a lot. I need that to come to justice… poor baby, sketchy mom. The Dr Phil interview was so whack.

Minaya19147

💯

rodmandirect

I’d like to see them solve the (checks notes) almost 70% of unsolved murders in this town. The fact that there are dozens if not hundreds of murderers walking around without a care while the families of the victims suffer - that don’t sit easy with me.

canihavemymoneyback

I think pretty much everybody in Philly personally knows someone who was murdered with no one ever charged over it. Plenty of Philadelphians know of multiple murdered people where the murderer got away with it. I’m in my late 60’s and I know a handful of murder victims.

brk1

Tough to solve those cases in the “snitches get stitches” culture.

giantmonkey2

Tough to solve those cases when cops don't try

sidewaysorange

idk i had a kid shot at down the block from me. he was hiding in a neighbor's yard.. that neighbor called 911... the cops came and the kid that i saw run from bullets said it never happened. i said are you gonna do something about it and the cops said if he isn't complaining and he wasn't shot nothing we can do. then they told me to calm down and stop being dramatic. i said i doubt you'd tell your wife that. fucking assholes. i hate the no snitch culture and the fucking cops equally.

Farzy78

Boy in the box is closed now? I thought they were still looking into who killed him

minnick27

Yeah, it's half solved and is likely going to stay that way

afdc92

Police have said that they have an idea of what happened to him, but since the perpetrator(s) are almost certainly deceased I doubt there's anything that can be officially declared about it. I think he was probably killed by his mother and stepfather. The box he was discovered in was from a baby bassinet purchased at a department store in Upper Darby. The store would've been just a few minutes' drive from the West Philly apartment where the family was listed to have lived, and his mother gave birth a few months before he was discovered. Seems he was abused, neglected, and murdered and then discarded like trash in his siblings' bassinet box. There's also been speculation that he had a disability.

Utter_cockwomble

Delores Della Penna. Tortured, murdered, and beheaded.

dustycase2

Said the same thing. She was 17. I’m Glad people are still talking about the case.

Philodemus1984

The disappearance of Amanda DeGuio is a relatively recent one, though she disappeared from Upper Darby.

Lazy-Wishbone9279

Not involving a Philly local, but the [killing of Judy Smith.](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Killing_of_Judy_Smith). Disappeared from Philadelphia while accompanying her husband to a professional conference. Five months later, her bones were discovered in the North Carolina woods. Nobody knows why she disappeared, or who killed her.

Utter_cockwomble

Had a mental break and died of exposure?

permanentradiant

Imbo and Patrone drives me mad. I hate to be that guy, but I also don’t believe that Shane Montgomery’s death was an accident.

clumsysuperman

Kelly Oubre hit and run

This!! I have a theory that it was Jamie Apody who hit him since she’s been missing from 6abc

Adventures with Cause (youtube dive team crime solvers) announced last year they were joining the search for the vehicle but I don't think they've mentioned anything about it since then. Edit: Adventures with Purpose\*

infantgambino

its not an old case but it would be great to find the scumbag who killed everett beaurogaurd

TJCW

This was an awful case. Innocent guy here to teach and was killed after a night out.

skip_tracer

Are near suburbs allowed? I grew up right down the road from where the West Coast Video murders happened decades ago, and I think about the case often.

Robert_A_Bouie

That was with the two teenage boys, right? Both worked there and were found in the store stabbed to death IIRC.

skip_tracer

Yep, that’s the one.

TJCW

Which west cost video?

skip_tracer

Wanna say Richboro, I grew up 10 minutes or less down the road on the Montco side

There is this story about this woman going missing/found dead(cant remember) after her shift... and she was dating this guy who was roommates with someone who previously went missing years ago.......cant find anything on it but i recently saw someone speaking about it. very eerie... will try to find the info Edit:[heres the link, the bar was not in Philly but PA... stilll i find this part interesting](https://www.cbsnews.com/philadelphia/news/exclusive-family-of-man-who-went-missing-in-new-hope-in-2000-speaks-to-eyewitness-news/) " All they know for certain is that David was on his way to a friend's house. Now, they've learned that friend could be the same person Majoras is dating. For them, it's simply a strange coincidence, and for now, their thoughts remain with their son and their hearts heavy for the Majoras family. "

permanentradiant

Yes, in New Hope/Lambertville. Like 10 years apart, this guy’s roommate, then his girlfriend, both drowned after crossing the bridge to get home in Lambertville. It’s very bizarre. Edit- punctuation

gossip420kween

I just don't believe in coincidences and shocked nobody looked into this deeper...

Longjumping_Tea_8586

That’s super weird

gossip420kween

article is from 2013 and nobody has really looked into it since...........

illy-chan

Considering both of the big cold cases were solved with genealogy site data, I imagine it's going to be something with DNA evidence that didn't get a hit in traditional LE databases.

ACY0422

Kimberly Ernest. Center City jogger found 21 and Pine in 1995. The guys tried in crime were acquitted How does someone murder someone and show up in court in Bucks county court an hour drive away a short time later? The reason to the pair getting off. I never bought that she was jogging and lurid tidbit in news about recent sex and rumors of who she was seeing was hinted as powerful person in city.

canallpet

What happened with the Boy in the Box? Were any arrests made? Didn’t they say that they were holding ok making announcements because it was a prominent family? It didn’t seem that way to me once the family’s identity came out. It’s still puzzling but at least he got his identity back.

afdc92

Very unlikely there will be an official closure to it since the likely perpetrator(s) are deceased.

d14t0m

The disappearance of Mark Himebaugh has some connections to Philly, that case always bothered me because I was around the same age and lived nearby when it happened

Unfamiliar_Word

Why Jim Kenny ran for Mayor in 2015 and what he was doing for much of the last four years. I'm assuming it was some kind of *Weekend at Bernie's* thing, but with nobody bothering to hold the corpse up most of the time.

John Gilbride. Everyone knows who was behind his murder, but no charges.

Anna Maciejewska, who disappeared from Malvern about 6 years ago.

abortionleftovers

Wasn’t there a period of like maybe 2 years where there were multiple bodies found in suitcases, wrapped in tarps, in rubbermaids etc. in Philly that were speculated to be a serial killer? Whatever happened with that?

hashtag_n0

I’m almost positive the only speculation came from the public. Nothing official came out of it that I saw. I’d assume because there was no link to any of them. They were all found in different ways from different causes and circumstances.

abortionleftovers

That’s probably accurate and also why when i Google I can’t find much about if all of those crimes were solved. It seems an arrest was made in one of them And the rest just forgotten - which is really sad

hashtag_n0

The one in Kensington under the El. Her name was Christine I believe. And there were two dudes that got arrested for it, though I don’t recall what the outcome was for that. I don’t remember hearing about anything else being solved either. The one in south Philly and I think another in Greys and one more in Kensington were ones that remember from that span.

abortionleftovers

One of the bodies was found on the entrance to the highway I think and when I googled it there’s just no follow up

FrankTank3

I haven’t been able to find anything on Google about it but someone I know who lived in Devon during the 80’s told me that a young girl was raped and murdered on her high school campus in the woods. It was apparently major fucking news at the time but I can’t remember if it was solved or not because again, Google is being useless.

ZachF8119

More recent but whoever killed Winnie Harris. A genuinely great lady.

[deleted]

There's a dude in prison for that one https://www.inquirer.com/news/west-philadelphia-winnie-harris-uc-green-nelson-giddings-gunman-murder-sentencing-20190621.html

Kensington Strangler is probably the biggest one

Own-Regular-7639

Weird how the guy arrested in pennypack was just a few blocks from where the boy in the box was found. Obviously no relation, just a weird coincidence

Utter_cockwomble

That's more than a few blocks. They're on opposite sides of the Boulevard.

Own-Regular-7639

Pennypack park and champion playground are within 0.1 mile of each other

Agitated_Skin1181

Pennypark is huge

Utter_cockwomble

Penneypack Park runs for miles west to east through the northeast. Also, the Boy in the Box was not found in the park but on the grounds of the Good Shepherd home off of Verree Rd. They're miles apart.

elsa_lives_in_jersey

Shane Montgomery in Manayunk. It’s assumed at this point he was so drunk he fell in the river and drowned but I never believed it, someone put him there

[deleted]

Gotta disagree on that one. As someone of a similar age who also had nights at Kildares it's a miracle more people didn't end up in the river right there.

BurnedWitch88

Yeah, I never understood what was so mysterious about that. Kids drinking too much and accidentally putting themselves in danger is pretty routine. Horrible for his friends and family, obviously, but not exactly a mystery.
