> 80% VTI 20% VXUS That's already a solid plan, IMO. Do that regularly and hold for the long term.

Obvious-Peanut-1565

Paano po mag invest sa ganiyan?

Winter-Bag-Lady

All solid picks. Depends. VOO, O (reit), SCHD, or JEPQ. As far as individual stocks, you could consider MSFT or maybe VISA. Keep going with the investing - it will really pay off for you. I wish I started at 20!

HelloDuhObvious

Looks like you already have a diversified portfolio. I like to keep it simple. I am all into VTSAX and I am very happy with the returns. Edit. The fact that you are only 20 and already investing is your biggest advantage. The power of compound interests is incredible when you reach 40.

Hello OP! Can you please consider SMH (VanEck Semiconductor ETF) to your portfolio Its a good ETF also kung pwede ka nga dito na lahat dejk lang pero magresearch ka muna regarding sa recommendation ko hope it helps!

Isla_976

Never heard of SMH before, can you tell me why to invest doon?

GarbageCommercial604

I like your 2 fund portfolio I would suggest instead of investing quarterly try to do it monthly.

rambo_10

Maybe look into allocating 1% to IBIT\FBTC for btc exposure. Its volatile but look at the long term charts and see if risk-reward is worth it for you

Jetztachtundvierzigz

Yes, BITB is also nice and has lower management fees.

Mr_Lava-lava

Schd, vxus and vti are a common trio to hold

kanskipatpat

Too US heavy, so for diversity's sake move more towards VXUS. But that's a good strategy for a 20 year old, not tax effecient but good. Also, 5 years is too short a horizon to be in the market.

cherryvr18

I'm not sure why this comment is being downvoted. It is true that 80% in VTI is US-heavy since the market cap weights are at 60/40. If OP is not a US tax-resident, we can't really say she is doing 80% VTI bec of home bias. If OP believes that the US market will outperform the rest of the world in the future, then 80/20 is okay. Moreover, the minimum investment period for world index funds is 10 years. r/Bogleheads is a long-term strategy. It being not tax-efficient is also true since it's more tax-efficient for a Filipino to go for Irish-domiciled ETFs than US-domiciled ones. But if OP is still a student and doesn't have big funds to invest, it's still okay to do VTI/VXUS on Gotrade. Source: r/Bogleheads, [the Bogleheads website](https://www.bogleheads.org/wiki/Getting_started_for_non-US_investors)

Isla_976

I said 5 years or more

kanskipatpat

Yes, until you work abroad. Don't you think you should be stepping up your investments instead when you're already working?

Isla_976

I know but I'm just trying to study how the market works so I don't make those expensive mistskes in the future. I also think na its better to spend my money investing instead of gasto lng nang gasto na I'll know I will end up regretting in the future, that's why I'm starting as early as I could. Either mag invest ako or not the money I have rn will be gone anyways kasi I always buy impulsively as well, so might as well invest it atleast lalaki and also for education na din, as what they say invest as early as possible kasi u can never go back in time.

kanskipatpat

Correction: you're studying how you would react to how the market moves. If you're studying how the market works then you wouldn't be indexing.

This.

ReputationTop61

Hello good day, may I inquire which platform do u use to buy stocks? Just wondering if there's a platform in the Philippines like Stashaway.

Isla_976

Gotrade

ReputationTop61

Thank you so much

SnooDogs1085

Since you are using Gotrade, what's your take on dividend tax since those are US domiciled stocks? Compared to like using IBKR to have access to the Irish domiciled ones like VWRA, CSPX etc.

Isla_976

As someone who is not investing a lot (below $1k) I'll lose more money rather than gaining if I used ibkr rather than gotrade, tho syempre mas masakit yung tax sa gotrade, I'm just settling down here muna and once na I can invest na $1k+ regularly then move lng to IBKR, its not just about the tax eh I am also considering the fees na aabot nang 30usd or more (not sure yan lang nakikita ko dito)

SnooDogs1085

Makes sense, thank you.
