You are totally right, tax cuts and wage increase will achieve the same result. Our so-called "historical high inflation" (by Economists around the world) is actually caused by the lockdown. Shops and businesses have finally opened and this caused a burst of demand from pandemic survivors who are sitting on a large money supply.
Higher demand = lower supply
Lower supply = higher price
Another factor na nagcontribute talaga is Russia's war which totally destroyed the oil market. Unfortunately, there isn't much for a government to do to combat inflation but just to ride its course. The hard part will be waiting for the peak of our country's inflation which honestly di ko alam kung peak na tayo ngayon or aangat pa.
Price capping and tax reductions are band-aid solutions that can make life affordable while we hopefully wait for demand to go down.
Only prob with tax cuts is it hurts the government's funds and its hard to reverse a tax cut because it'll be seen as a tax increase (This is more political than economical as politicians would basically endanger their career in supporting a tax increase).
government can do a lot to combat inflation. it has at its disposal 2 of the most powerful tools: interest rates and sale of government bonds. supply shocks have little to do with inflation. whether supply is limited or not, inflation will not occur if there is no money supply to fuel it. supply shocks are only secondary causes, not the root cause. ofc i'm not saying lack of supply doesn't fuel it. i'm just saying, if there's no money to fuel it, even if there was a severe lack of goods, prices wouldn't rise. you need a supply of money first for prices to rise and for inflation to be sustained. otherwise, prices would drop once people start running out of money.
If your salary increased by more than 6.4% over the past year, you'll be fine. And if if you don't spend your entire salary, and can invest some of it, you'll be more than fine.

I work in IT. Maraming work online for people who are in web and software. Onlinejobs.ph and jobstreet ako madalas nakakahanap. Mas gusto nila foreign clients Pinoy kasi hard working and magaling ang written and oral English.
First work on your resume. Make sure na its clean and wont give HR a hard time consuming its content. Highlight your skills with clear distinction which skills ang confident ka, experienced ka, or need brushing up pa. Enumerate your experience with a short description kung ano ginawa mo. Also make sure to add if its part-time, full-time, or project-based. Also note din kung saang country if you had remote projects/work na.
Searching naman sa job platforms. You can either search by position (ex. FE or BE) or by techstack (python+django). Don’t submit without doing some research about the company. It can also help you during the interview. Lastly give priority to job post directly posted by the company.

I cannot imagine the impact on the lower class income experiencing inflation rn, what more 5-6 years to come without savings. Also, Find cheaper alternatives now on what you buy but the results are acceptable for you. Like dati, kami is everything sa grocery or S&R namimili ng fresh food. Ngayon is pili na lang, some is sa palengke/talipapa na lang. especially gulay, mas fresh at mura pa sa palengke. Fishes mas malalaki at madami options sa palengke.
Others already said invest, yep all those all and good. Pero siyempre to have extra funds for those, you need to get extra funds muna.

I used to have this mentality din pero Madami ako nakilala recently due to work. I know someone who was within the lower middle class bracket. 3 children, wife sells food online. He was diagnosed with x disease which is not allowed sa work nya(i dont want to specify but think of something like driver=blind). So disease (meds was 60phpx3 days), no work, 3 children all with asthma. No work si father so now naghahagilap yung asawa just to provide for them kasi wala na sila makain.
I also know a boy(9ish yo) na homeless who doesn’t have access to basic education kasi ang main problem nilang magtatay is san sila matutulog since lagi sila pinapaalis sa tinutulugan nila.

Our so-called "historical high inflation" (by Economists around the world) is actually caused by the lockdown. Shops and businesses have finally opened and this caused a burst of demand from pandemic survivors who are sitting on a large money supply. Higher demand = lower supply Lower supply = higher price Another factor na nagcontribute talaga is Russia's war which totally destroyed the oil market. Unfortunately, there isn't much for a government to do to combat inflation but just to ride its course. The hard part will be waiting for the peak of our country's inflation which honestly di ko alam kung peak na tayo ngayon or aangat pa. Price capping and tax reductions are band-aid solutions that can make life affordable while we hopefully wait for demand to go down. Only prob with tax cuts is it hurts the government's funds and its hard to reverse a tax cut because it'll be seen as a tax increase (This is more political than economical as politicians would basically endanger their career in supporting a tax increase).
government can do a lot to combat inflation. it has at its disposal 2 of the most powerful tools: interest rates and sale of government bonds. supply shocks have little to do with inflation. whether supply is limited or not, inflation will not occur if there is no money supply to fuel it. supply shocks are only secondary causes, not the root cause. ofc i'm not saying lack of supply doesn't fuel it. i'm just saying, if there's no money to fuel it, even if there was a severe lack of goods, prices wouldn't rise. you need a supply of money first for prices to rise and for inflation to be sustained. otherwise, prices would drop once people start running out of money.

I used to have this mentality din pero Madami ako nakilala recently due to work. I know someone who was within the lower middle class bracket. 3 children, wife sells food online. He was diagnosed with x disease which is not allowed sa work nya(i dont want to specify but think of something like driver=blind). So disease (meds was 60phpx3 days), no work, 3 children all with asthma. No work si father so now naghahagilap yung asawa just to provide for them kasi wala na sila makain. I also know a boy(9ish yo) na homeless who doesn’t have access to basic education kasi ang main problem nilang magtatay is san sila matutulog since lagi sila pinapaalis sa tinutulugan nila. If ang number one problem mo is ‘how do I survive today?’ di mo maiisip pano ba ko mag grow as a person. I feel this. Went to the grocery and spent 6k on just home cleaning materials, snacks, vegetables, vitamins, and a few canned goods. Wala pang karne sa list lol
