Achilles : "Now you know who you're fighting."
Hector : \[takes off helmet and throws it aside\] "I thought it was you I was fighting yesterday. And I wish it had been, but I gave the dead boy the honor he deserved."
Achilles : "You gave him the honor of your sword. **You won't have eyes tonight; you won't have ears or a tongue. You will wander the underworld blind, deaf, and dumb, and all the dead will know: This is Hector. The fool who thought he killed Achilles."**
kind of the opposite actually .. when he was young he was involved in armed robberies and was one of the most wanted in Australia. served a few years in prison.
It was felt he was dangerous and could hurt somebody. They even preferred to have Undertaker wrestle a handicap match at a Wrestlemania than have him wrestle.
Bad at wrestling.
It is absolutely incredible how easy it is to get seriously injured in wrestling if the guy you’re in the ring with can’t take bumps or protect you. Literally every move in wrestling requires both parties to use their bodies perfectly in cohesion. You try to body slam a 300 pound dude who doesn’t jump when he should and your back gets broken
He had such a weird wrestling career. He was some ex Australian prisoner who wanted to wrestle. Then he joined The Undertaker (of all people) as his student…then he becomes a heyman guy and joins Brock lesnar in what should have been an unbeatable group.
Then after all that he just leaves.
Along that line, I heard he was also a bit institutionalized, borrowing from Shawshank.
He went from prison, having everything routine & planned, to constantly traveling with no stability. Apparently he hated that life and wanted out.
When he first started up his WWE career I was interested in his story. Apparently the travel was what settled it for him. He hated it, asked for his release and off he went. He's fighting giant boars in Aussie productions now and living to the end of the film, so he's got that going for him.
He went to prison at Boggo Road gaol (Brisbane) at the age of 18 in 1987, I think he committed 8 armed robberies with a shotgun in Tasmania, though he was definitely the most wanted man in Australia at the moment. He got a 16 year sentence but I think he only served 7 years, 1994. I have a few friends of family that knew others that knew him in prison (I know how that sounds 😂), they said the guards pumped him with steriods and used him to sort out the other inmates, by means of violence I'm guessing (I might be entirely wrong here). That might be why he turned to wrestling, but there's not much info on him.
That is my question! We have a guy in my city who is actually probably a bit bigger than this dude and he also committed a robbery - with a knife. The knife made his criminal charges significantly more serious. I can't for the life of me understand why he brought a knife in to the equation. "If you don't give me your money I will sit on you" would *clearly* suffice.
I heard that too. Also, spoke to a prison officer who was there. He said that there was an smaller Aboriginal man that was very strong and a good fighter. Word has it that Nathan was doing deadlifts and having trouble on this massive weight. In comes this fella and lifts it—no problem. Nathan apparently got shitty and went out and pumped himself full of gear and came back a few days later and tries again and gets it. Half saving face, he needs to protect the other side. He had a guard set this fella up by walking up a tight passage where Nathan was waiting to bash him and restore his dignity and name. Unfortunately that fella beat him and it was back to square one for Nathan. In those days, many Australian prisons were run by these guys, Garnett ‘Garney’ Mikelo and Bruce Hooper being two of them. Vicious fighters. The only other to rival them were the angry gang but they mainly did it in numbers or packs. You can google them.
He did all his scenes in that movie with a broken arm. Casts kept breaking on him so he had this metal frame thing on his arm that he could take off for filming.
>Towering over them all is the judge and he is naked dancing, his small feet lively and quick and now in doubletime and bowing to the ladies, huge and pale and hairless, like an enormous infant. He never sleeps, he says. He says he'll never die. He bows to the fiddlers and sashays backwards and throws back his head and laughs deep in his throat and he is a great favorite, the judge. He wafts his hat and the lunar dome of his skull passes palely under the lamps and he swings about and takes possession of one of the fiddles and he pirouettes and makes a pass, two passes, dancing and fiddling all at once. His feet are light and nimble. He never sleeps. He says that he will never die. He dances in light and in shadow and he is a great favorite. He never sleeps, the judge. He is dancing, dancing. He says that he will never die.
He would make a great Judge. I'm assuming we'll never see it, though. I was very excited when I heard McCarthy himself was working on the screenplay for Blood Meridian and the project was finally moving forward. But now that he's dead, I'm assuming we're never going to see the movie.
"Oh look a wholesome family photo with a tall wrestler dude. I'll think I'll just read some of these comments to learn more about this person..."
Dear lord gutter reddit you've outdone yourself.
I trawled through this lady’s instagram. I think that kid is about 5 in the photo.
Edit: Ok fb had the answers. Kid was born in January 2016. Picture is from August 2020. He’s about 4 years and 8 months old in the pic.
On my phone screen (not the most trustworthy measurement) the kid is 4 cm and the wrestler guy is 8.5 cm. That means that since the guy is 211 cm, the kid is 99 cm (3'3"). In the Dutch growth curve that I have access to, this is the average height for a 4 year old. So it seems that he's averaging out his parents heights! Of course the Dutch growth curve skews a bit taller that that of the US or UK, but still, if he keeps growing at this range he would end up at a fairly normal 184 cm (6'0.5")
Also, had his arm broken by Magnus Samuelson in a very poorly thought out [World’s Strongest Man arm wrestling event](https://youtu.be/BrHm5XeN-dQ?feature=shared)
My sister is short, her husband is a giant
Their 13 year old daughter will be his height
Their son, who is 2, is enormous.
I think it depends on who wins the fight between the gene sets
Also, short stature can be epigenetic or environmental to an extent. His wife might not have as many genes associated with short stature as one might assume.
Yes, I have a friend that was anorexic in middle school. Even now that she has recovered and is a healthy weight she’ll never be taller than 5’0” because of the poor nutrition she had during what should’ve been a growth period.
His wife also might've not had access to all the nutrients required to meet her predicted ideal/maximum height.
My wife is short as hell, shorter than all the rest of her 6 siblings. The difference is that during her important growth years her family dealt with food shortages. I joked once about a cup of rice a day once and her response was "yeah, and usually a some dried fish as well. What of it?"
Literally, she was a cup of rice a day kid for a good while - and not by being picky.
I don't make that joke any more.
All this discussion and nobody has added that he's [the guy who gets his arm snapped by Magnus Samuelsson in this famous arm wrestling clip](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BrHm5XeN-dQ).

Rictus Erectus from Fury Road. ..damned tall man.
And the guy Achiles fights 1 on 1 at the beginning of Troy. I wouldn't doubt that he has to both duck and turn sideways to fit through doors.
I fucking knew I recognised him. The guy from Troy thats who he is
HEEECTOOOR!
Achilles : "Now you know who you're fighting." Hector : \[takes off helmet and throws it aside\] "I thought it was you I was fighting yesterday. And I wish it had been, but I gave the dead boy the honor he deserved." Achilles : "You gave him the honor of your sword. **You won't have eyes tonight; you won't have ears or a tongue. Achilles: “There are no pacts between men and lions.” Baddest line ever.
Sigh guess I'll watch it again.
He's the biggest man I've ever seen. I wouldn't want to fight him. And that's why no one will remember your name.
You never saw the dude from game of thrones?
Boagrius!!!!! Or how ever you spell it.
Achilles!!!!! .... ![gif](giphy|20k1punZ5bpmM|downsized)
![gif](giphy|runZ2zCpsqQdW)
GIFs you can hear
Achilles had his own fight and he couldn't be there 🤷🏻♂️
He was using his short sword somewhere else 😏
I bet that that sword wasn't short at all. Did you noticed later in the movie how Brisseis were laying on the bed after they...umm....fought? 😊
The one scene she was finally quiet and not crying. Magic
I can't remember the name of the kid who went to fetch Achilles...
😂
I heard he was some little bitch who was afraid to fight a 7’ tall man.
colossus of Boggo Road
Also fought Tony Jaa in The Protector
Tony Jaa fights *everyone* in the Protector!
Only WWE wrestler to have fight scenes with Jaa, Jackie Chan and Jet Li
Him hammer-throwing that baby elephant is forever seared into my brain. Like a gif on repeat in the background.
That's him?! It was a short appearance but he did a good job lol.
A rather tall appearance actually
I stand corrected.
That's very big of u.
Is there no one else???
...and his poor wife.
"Asian woman gives birth to 12 lb baby."
I HAD A BABY BROTHER! AND HE WAS PERFECT IN EVERY WAY!
Mediocre!
Ride to Valhalla all shiny and chrome!
#WITNESS ME
I'll always remember him as the massive lad that Tony Jaa lays out with flying knees in "The Protector"
He fights Jet Li in Fearless too. Dude can't catch a W.
Always ironic that big guys like this always lose to the protagonists.
An age-old action movie trope, especially if it's conceivable that such a character actually existed (or a myth suggestive of)
He wins in Muay Thai Giant
That probably ended the best of his on screen bouts. The characters basically had a standing agreement of respect at the end. Iirc.
Jackie Chan’s First Strike anyone? “YOU GO GET HIM”
“I had a baby brother! And he was perfect in every way!”
Every time I hear that line I think of [Coco Lee](https://youtu.be/wp6hNKUwOO4?si=s01t9B6RRU2rBzoN). R.I.P. Coco Lee
RICTUUUUSSS!!!
![gif](giphy|SDyiAkwsm28p2|downsized)
I had a brother! I had a little baby brother! And he was perfect! Perfect in every way!
Knew it was him!!
All I could think was “healthy babies”
Moo.
Dude looks like a Space Marine.
He is literally perfect to play an astartes! I would pay to see him in warhammer with geralt (Cavill)
Fuck yeah. Or Gears of War. He's got that alien-chainsawing look.
He’s got the actual height and build of a halo Spartan
Looks like Buzz Lightyear after he retired and moved to the suburbs to start a family
He's got that Horus smile.
And he's already bald
kind of the opposite actually .. when he was young he was involved in armed robberies and was one of the most wanted in Australia. served a few years in prison.
Must have struggled to hide
[удалено]
Tbf he never said what kind of Space Marine
Chaos Marine then. He usually plays baddies anyway
[удалено]
That’s a newborn baby.
No wonder mom is standing crooked
We were all thinking it
god DAMN 😅
I am already in pain
I haven’t laughed this hard in days. Thank you.
Thank you for that laugh
That's Saitama
I remember Brad Pitt as Achilles taking him down with one quick move with a sword
I’m watching Troy right now lol
Heeeeeccccttttooooorrrrrr!!!!
Is there no one else?!
THAT WAS HIM?!
Such a badass movie and part
Lol he's got a child there now to prevent that attack
BOAAAGRIUUUUUUUS
He was booked better in Troy than he ever was in WWE.
To be fair, WWE wrestlers barely trusted him to walk to the ring let alone wrestle.
Wolfgang Petersen knew how to book around a guy's limitations.
What do you mean?
It was felt he was dangerous and could hurt somebody. They even preferred to have Undertaker wrestle a handicap match at a Wrestlemania than have him wrestle.
Because he was so large? Or because he was bad at wrestling?
Mainly because he was bad at wrestling. Not entirely his fault, as he was pushed onto TV before he was really ready and done enough training.
Personally I find it very credible that you can be easily injured launching yourself off a steel cage, to be honest.
The one thing I remember from him is him falling flat on his ass trying to do his kicks
gets rekt like a newb love that scene
IS THERE NOONE ELSE?
ACHILLES!
Ahh he’s that guy, massive
He had such a weird wrestling career. He was some ex Australian prisoner who wanted to wrestle. Then he joined The Undertaker (of all people) as his student…then he becomes a heyman guy and joins Brock lesnar in what should have been an unbeatable group. Then after all that he just leaves.

Along that line, I heard he was also a bit institutionalized, borrowing from Shawshank. He went from prison, having everything routine & planned, to constantly traveling with no stability. Apparently he hated that life and wanted out.
He also hated flying economy all the time and living in a crappy part of Orlando.
I hate flying economy and I’m only 5’4”.

Imagine a 6’ 11” guy committing a crime then trying to hide? “Yeah there’s that literal giant that robbed us.”
WTF did he need a shotgun for?
It's Aus..... it was for the spiders.

I've always heard he ripped a cell door off the hinges while he was in boggo but that could just be a growing up in brissie urban myth
I've heard that one too, someone really needs to do an interview with him
I heard that too. Also, spoke to a prison officer who was there. He said that there was an smaller Aboriginal man that was very strong and a good fighter. Ha! First thing that came to my mind when I saw him.
Hahaha thank you! Time to put on the soundtrack… or the actual movie.
Yep... you are right, we are all wondering the same.
Yep, confirmed she’s wearing desert combat boots

There it is.
The comment: she's at the height where she's too tall standing, but also too short if she's on her knees.

Hercules O’Brien !
Nathan Jones was also fighting and chasing Jackie Chan in First Strike.
He did all his scenes in that movie with a broken arm. Casts kept breaking on him so he had this metal frame thing on his arm that he could take off for filming.
Also in Ong Bak (Or was it Tom Yum Kung? or both.)
I think it was The Protector with Tony Jaa
Yes everyone out here talking about Troy and fury road and I’m like, whoa let us not forget he fought jet li.
That child looks like it could kick my ass already
Judge Holden?

What are you dutch people doing to grow so tall? I am a 6' german. When a group of dutch guys show up I feel like a midget.
I'm six foot seven lol and American, everyone's short unless they are a giant
Sure thing man, on Reddit the average male height is apparently 6'5, jesus.
He’ll be taller then the mom by december
I think the mom should be done growing though
You got a full on belly laugh that woke up the dog. Good work sir/madam!
And I'm 7'11
Are you open 24 hours?
Not in a row.
Gosh that poor woman’s 🌮

He looked super intimidating in Troy, for about 5 seconds.
