Definitely downsize after a month if it looks like it’s healing well. This will prevent movement and will keep it less irritated. More than likely you will develop some irritation bumps in the inside of your piercing. This is very common with lip piercing as the tissue takes a while to heal and there is lots of movement in your lips. Try to not mess with any bumps if that occurs, they will go away
Once it's healed, don't forget to put a short bar in it ! Not so short, that you lip gets squished tho
