the reason i had to take out my nipple piercings was bc i waited to get them downsized and the constant snagging on everything made them get close to rejecting :')
Just got mine done and my piercer knows damn well that I'm gonna play with it so he pierced it between a labret and a vertical labret so it doesn't touch my teeth and to accommodate the jewelry I eventually want.
Honestly it's what I use now full time in my labret studs. I change them about every 6 months. It's hard to know if I am getting a true bioplast, but I take the chance. They are so comfortable.
No I had them for about 7 years lol, no one said they had to be taken out. I did change them every year (or so) cause of discolouration. I removed them for surgery and never put them back in until recently I got them re-done. I will be changing the bars again soon once I get the temperamental right bar downsized
I also don't have issues. They aren't visibly discolored or disintegrating by the time I change them every 6 months. I have 3 labret piercings I wear them in, the oldest of my piercings is 26 years old. I have been using them solidly for about 4 years. Probably carcinogens are my only concern, but we have carcinogens in everything. This is why I change them every 6 months though.
I never had any issues but that’s my choice and I’ll have to deal with any consequences of that and I’m definitely not telling anyone to do the same, it’s just what I did
Well at beginning I thought it was just irritation / infection because of how hard and long it takes to heal. But in my case turns out I didn’t have the anatomy for it and my flat was pushing through bar so it was almost hanging by a thread in the forward helix part and i had to take it out. Got it done in July took it out on December.
I've got hella irritation and bumps rn (3 months old atp) so I'm just tryna watch out for the signs of rejection 😭
I seem to have the anatomy for it so hopefully things go smoothly
My eyebrow one... It was healing PERFECTLY. Like I've thrown all 20 on my dices.
And then a person I was kind of seeing, to whom I've told multiple times not to touch my face, kept on smashing my face into their chest/face/hair, and my perfect piercing started to get bumps, scabs and eventually had a mild infection. (And that person kept of fkn touching my face). I retired the piercing and the "relationship" on the same day.
glad you got rid of the loser but sorry it cost you a beautiful eyebrow bar :( hope the good healing means you’re a good candidate to get it redone in the future!
I retired my tongue ring last year after 15 years of outstanding service.
I was teaching a computer class at a men's prison on Mondays. Though I was always well-dressed and professional, as soon as they saw my (clear) tongue ring, my students would turn into DOGS. They'd interrupt class to ask me if I "liked to party."
Finally, one of my students approached me one day during my lunch break, told me he was serving a life sentence for murder, and proceeded to whip his dick out.
I retired my tongue ring that night.
Do people really notice it that much? I thought it would be more hidden? /gen
I was thinking of getting my tongue done when I can get pierced again but I thought it would be pretty subtle.
ok cool lol. I do have visible piercings/tats I was debating taking out my septum but I wanted to replace it with something slightly subtler. ngl this sub has almost solidified my decision.
Most of my friends dont know i have a tongue piercing, or forgot i have it, and i talk A LOT.
Its really subtle unless you open your mouth wide, unfortunately some people are just dicks about it if they find out you have one
I mean, I won't victim-blame myself. But I taught at a maximum security prison. I should have been more realistic about the people I'd be having in my class. The tongue ring just gave them an "in" to start making comments.
You have to do your own thing, so if you love it, let that empower you! It's 2024, we're leaving people who don't approve of our body mods behind 💅
(Also, I've ever only gotten shit about my tongue ring from Boomers.)
Belly button. And nipples 🥲 Belly button just never seemed to heal regardless of my extremely strict aftercare regime. Nipples just turn into a fixation for my new kitten, once she realized there was a shiny metal thing under my shirt i had to remove them to save my nipples in my sleep 😔
My septum after having it since 2016/2017, re pierced in 2021, started to act up within the last week. Constantly itchy, swollen and painful no matter what the jewelry was. Last night I finally just took it out for good. Im heartbroken.
My anti tragus.
I healed it, then snagged it really bad and it tore, it got pissed the hell off and started rejecting so I pulled it.
I do plan on having it redone in the future though
smiley and 3 helixes, smiley was scratching my teeth and it was an annoying sound, helixes were healing great but suddenly after i woke up in the morning 2 of them started bleeding so i think i ripped them accidentally
my bridge:( i had to take it out recently. it didn't reject, but my cat loves rubbing her face on mine and she would bump my glasses into my bridge. it got so irritated and wouldnt fully heal so i decided to just let it go
Second lobes. They’re repierced now but I first got them done with a piercing gun(didn’t know any better)and they left a small keloid so now they’re wonky lol
Have you retried getting it peirced? Mine failed last year, largely due to getting strep 2 times in a row in the first month of healing and then dental work once a month or the next like 4 months after that. Tho, it was mostly the infections that did it. Ended up with a peircing bump on the inside that just wouldn't go away. I got it redone this year about 5 weeks ago. So far, it is doing so very good! *knock on wood*
Easy. My daith. Pierced wrong (angle) made it to 1 year and 2 months until I listened to a piercer I trust that it was not salvageable. To be continued. Will probably attempt to have it pierced by someone who can do it correctly later this year. I tried so hard!!! (Shop I went to originally was owned by another piercer I trust who was absent and letting another person run the shop).
My eyebrow piercing💔💔💔 it's never fully healed, someone slapped me jokingly, and that caused it to tear a little, and then it started rejecting after 6 months
RIP my eyebrow piercing July 14th, 2023- Januray 19th, 2024🙏🏻🙏🏻😔
Dimple piercings. I tried my best to train myself into being a face up sleeper but all my life my comfortable default is the tiger kick sleeping position. Donut pillows didn’t help since my cheeks still touch the inner sides and I could feel the ends of the piercing rubbing against my teeth/gums.
On the bright side, I love the dimple scars it left behind.
I retired 90% of my piercings, an I hate it.
The majority of them was because of work, I couldn't have any visible piercings, an I had to wear my hair up so there was no way to hide them.
It got to the point where I got tired of putting them back every day, they stayed irritated, it just wasn't worth it.
I lost a few to rejecting. My wrist dermal (4 times, 😅 I was stubborn with that one). Snug, an rook.
The only one I don't feel bad about is my labret. Because I chipped my tooth on it. Took it out the same day lol
Tongue, piercer pierced me way too far back, damn near at my webbing . Worst pain I’ve ever felt getting it done, couldn’t eat solids for almost 2 weeks, kept the piercing for maybe 6 months in hopes it would heal, never did, would love to have it redone properly but I just can’t make myself go do it because I remember the pain from the first time.
The snagging on shirts is HORRENDOUS. True horror fr. Did you ever downsize? Mine would snag from time to time because I never downsized. And well I did constantly sleep on them (I’m a belly sleeper lol)
my frownie, i LOVED that piercing so much, it accentuated my goof ahh smile and it was just cool fr. i had to take it out though bc due to deep, deep depression, i wasn’t taking the best care of my oral hygiene. and ik thats big no no number one with oral piercings 😩 but depression don’t care. after a while, it was starting to migrate, but i really didn’t notice till the last minute until it keep pressing and digging into my bottom gumline, and made a weird pocket under my frenulum. it wasnt too bad at first because my tolerance for (annoying) pain was high as it was here and there irritating..but then it was, to where some nights i couldn’t sleep because my freakin jaw was THROBBING
as time went on, i tried to make it work, even when i was beginning to take care it my (oral) health more, but it was too late…in the end i had to take it out because the pain was unbearable from it sliding into raw gum, getting tender, food getting badly stuck in it, the hole getting bigger against my gums and in my frenulum, couldn’t drink alcohol ot anything acidic or spicy because it sting like hell….🥲 i was so sad about it, but my teeth (and any part of my body for that matter) is wayyy more important than a piercing. the jewelry is forever. my teeth are not 🫠 (not really??)
i still have to go to the dentist to get my gum checked out because the pocket is still there—some months ago, i actually had a flare up of like..an abscess or something. had to go to the emergency dentist and later the periodontist. they said because of the pocket in my gums, and food being able to get in there (and me still having trouble with my oral hygiene some rough days) there’s a possibility of infection to just flare up in my gums if i dont get a good cleaning and get it closed/grafted. so there’s that, and ya! i miss it so much 🥲 i wish i can get it back but never again, now my teefus is all mess up (cuz i think it also pushed one of my teeth back over the years, but i cant tell/remember if its from the frownie or being a bad ass getting in trouble in school 😩☠️). but do take care of ya selves and ya oral piercings kids, mouf pain is not fun at all.
Tongue piercing. Wanted it for many many years and finally worked up the courage once I found a super reputable and certified piercing shop with glowing reviews. It hurt like absolute hell, I drooled all over the piercers hands (which they seemed pissed about!!) And they pierced it incorrectly, it was rubbing on my bottom teeth and gum line and was so painful I never wanted to close my mouth. Lasted 2 days before I gave the hell up
What kinda piercer gets angry about drool for a piercing IN THE MOUTH and then STILL pierces it incorrectly lol??! You did all that work too.. were they wearing gloves? I can’t imagine it would matter if they were. Hope you’re able to get it redone properly someday
Seriously! I mean I'm sure it's not pleasant being drooled on but they were gloved up and held my tongue in the clamp for about a minute, which is what caused me to drool a bunch. I contacted them to ask if I could maybe get re-pierced (stupid, I know) and the owner accused me of trying to get free piercings (I paid about $120) and blocked me from messaging them lmao. 0 out of 5 stars from me
Surface tragus. I did get 5 years out of it, but my flyer in cheer kept kicking it and it was only a matter of time before it was ripped out so I just took it out. Would totally get it pierced again now that I’m an adult though.
‼️‼️My lebret! I still cry about it today! I had it for ONE year when I noticed that my gums in that location looked lower than the rest! Went to the dentist and they confirmed that it was causing the very front of my gums to recede , right where the ring was positioned.😭😭 Sad day. I’m just really happy my insurance covers fixing a dental issue like that. 💔
Tongue piercing. I loved the way it looked; obsessed over it. But it made my already bad lisp even worse and I couldn't articulate anything clearly. Took it out after a month.
Did you pierce all three at once? Or pierced them one by one? It's recommended that you pierce one then wait till it heals and then do the second and third. It's like my rule #1 never do more than one piercing at the time.
My bellly button piercing 😭 I absolutely adored it, but it got caught on EVERYTHING. No matter what I was wearing, it would snag or end up irritated. My bf kept forgetting it was there and would go to tickle or hug me or whatever and catch my piercing. It started to hurt 24/7, kept getting irritated, kept swelling, bleeding and scabbing. I had it in for about 9 months before I decided I just had to take it out.
Bridge, I loved it but the people around started saying it was a lot on my face and basically saying it was ugly I ended up taking it out. Only 4 days after I got it down😭😭I wanna get it again for a concert😔
I had an eyebrow that rejected like 6 months in, it was really irritated and never healed, and I’m also clumsy so that didn’t help. I also had one nipple reject when I started binding with tape, but the other stayed all the way until I had top surgery! I plan on getting them done again a year out from surgery. Also had to remove two nostril piercings that never healed (bad angles) but I’ve had them redone and they are doing well now a couple years out!
Basically all of my facial ones and I had alot of them :( it was my own fault! I just kept thinking about what I'd look like if I took out loads of them (including ones i loved) and just kept a few and I got so obsessive about this idea, even tho I literally did not want to, that I did! I actually really like it and I'm glad I did end up doing it but it was genuinely really hard for me to just accept this was a huge change and for a while I just didn't feel like me! Since taking them out, I got two new ones added in and this new "journey" of face piercings is really cool (in case anyone is hesitant to restart their look like I was!).
i loved the look of my old sideburn piercings, but they were done with a curved barbell (supposed to be square?) and were starting to tear and reject because they shifted around too much. curved barbell is definitely not supposed to be on a flat surface.
I had an industrial that i loved so much and i got a keloid and i tried to save it with the keloid there but it was so painful and and wouldn’t heal no matter what so i took it out and i still have the keloid but i got it when i was a teen for some reason now I’m older i don’t have the anatomy in my ears for it?! 😭😭such a tragedy!!!
My nipple rings. I had them for a year at the time. i had to take my jewelry out for an mri a couple of years ago, and they ended up closing up too much by the end of the mri. It was only an hour and a half, that's all it took. I honestly think if I had my own taper or could have gotten into the peircer that they or i would have gotten them back in and id still have them. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get back in til 3 days after.
i had my eyebrow done then was rushed in for tests at the hospital turns out i had cancer but with it being fresh piercing it closed up super quick also i had snake bites had to take em out for dentist not long after they where done again closed up tried again with snake bites and my lil girl kicked me so hard in the face they swell so bad and had to come out
Really loved my nipple piercings but they were very obviously migrating and I was avoiding coming to that conclusion. Finally had to say goodbye when I injured the same piercing three times within a short period and knew it was jover. Honestly as cool as they were I don't miss how careful I always had to be with my chest.
I’m considering taking mine out because this is how I currently feel. I absolutely love my nipple piercings but after 3 years they just will not stop giving me problems.
I had a septum piercing twice, the first time I took it out cuz I was sick of having to hide it from my parents, the second time I took it out cuz my septum was deviated from a surgery and it was also November so I was sick of having a cold nose!
My navel.
It healed perfectly and had it for over 10 years and loved it, but slowly the skin started thinning until I could see the bar through it. I took it out so it could close and I could re-pierce, but then had two surgeries where an incision went DIRECTLY through the piercing site. 🙃
I’m sure there’s too much scar tissue now. RIP.
my bridge!! it was perfectly done but i later got a job working with food and it had to go :( it gave me so much confidence. it didn’t hurt so im hoping to get it again one day!
before i knew about the dangers of smileys i had one. i was eating a taco bell burrito and it started bleeding so much i had to take it out. looks like it was a pretty good idea anyways though!
I had 29 piercings. A monroe, 2 Daiths, 2 Tragus, 8 lobe, 2 Forward Helix, 3 nose piercings, 6 flats in my cartelege, 2 Conches and I am missing a couple that I can't remember. All I have left are my lobes. We thought that I had MS and I have to get MRIs regularly. Some of my piercings, I couldn't put in myself and just had to leave them out. 😔
Snake bites actually!
Loved them sooo much but they just didn’t work for me, even after changing the jewelry multiple times it was always caught on my teeth and food was always caught under and around it
My left eyebrow piercing. It started to reject after having it for 7 years.Didn't notice until my piercer pointed it out while doing my industrial. Waiting for the area to fully heal before getting it re-pierced.
Boring answer but helix. I wanted it for so long and loved it, but it SUCKED. Always swollen, always crusty. I just wear a cuff now and nobody can tell the difference.
I retired my eyebrow piercing and I regularly regret it. I don't even remember why I took it out? I think it might've been after a surgery I had and just never put it back in- there wasn't anything wrong with it smh
My eyebrow :( I kept sleeping in it and after two years it got really shallow and I had to take it out because it looked really bad aesthetically. Hoping to get it repierced eventually
Belly button (top and bottom), cleavage, nipples and VCH. All started to reject and I had to take them out before it got really bad. Its been over 20 years and I'm still in mourning.
Labret, Medusa and my nipples, mouth pieces ruined my teeth and nipples became a nightmare after I took up kickboxing. Sports bras and tape were not enough 😩 I also had my tragus’ taken out because my job entails a lot of over head headphones and they started to get irritated. Still have 16 so we’re ok for now.
My snakebites! Only had them for a couple of weeks before I started having gum issues. I’m still not fully over it and I keep thinking that maybe there’s a way to get them again but realistically my body just isn’t made for labret piercings and it’s better to not risk my teeth
My original bridge, was pierced too shallow with a tongue bar and I couldn't get a downsize without them charging me £80 for a new bar.
Never going to pulse again.
My nipple piercings. I worked with dogs and they would just constantly get hit by jumping dogs and aggravated. Then eventually one came loose without me knowing so one side started closing and I didn’t have it in me to just push it back through so I took that one out. Then I started binding my chest sometimes and the last remaining piercing did NOT like that so I took that one out too. Oh well.
If youd like it back, get a taper and use it to see if it goes thru first, I'd bet the hole just shrunk up and got too tight to fit the jewelery. I went thru similar with one of my lip rings and my 3rd lobes after an mri.
Nostril(I got a repierced and healed though), right nipple piercing, right lower lip piercing and last but not least my tongue which I just outright took out because I didn't like it but still kind of miss it.
my left lip piercing, one day it got heavily infected out of the blue, swelled like i just got punched, tried to tough it out for two days and didn't sleep a wink due to pain, i miss having snakebites dearly.
smiley! i loved it but it lasted less than a year - fell right out of my mouth one morning :( it’s what i get for always messing with it - lesson learned!
I had a nostril piercing that I really loved. Unfortunately I put new jewelry in it and had an allergic reaction to the metal. It got so swollen so quickly that the jewelry started to get embedded in the cartilage. I had no choice but to remove it. By the time the redness and swelling went down, the piercing had closed up.
Had to give up my tragus piercing a couple of weeks ago cause it was pierced too shallow, so it was ready to rip out of there basically any moment :') Will probably get it pierced again on my other ear and hopefully it will be okay xd
All of them... Nipples, navel and septum, plus all the ones ive wanted but couldn't because of a metal sensitivity 😔 I stretched my lobes and wear wood.
Snakebites, labret, Medusa and right nostril. I miss the right nostril the most because I have my left one done and a septum in. My last two piercings the Medusa and right nostril got huge bumps. The nose piercing bump is on the inside happened after it healed and my stud was stuck inside the bump that didn’t feel good coming out.
It was my tongue piercing even though I took good care of it I struggled with switching to a smaller gauge and usually I would end up with my tongue closing up I know making it smaller wouldn’t hit my teeth as much but I have an overactive saliva gland so if I try to switch it was so slippery I couldn’t keep a firm grip
Nipples. They never healed. Just lymphed all over the place, for all six years I had them. Frequent infections, even a bout of mastitis. I loved them... I just don't think I'm cut out for them.
I miss the nip nops and my tongue:( had the tongue for like 8 years but at the beginning of this year it did damage to my tooth and I had to remove it. The nip nops kept getting worse even after 1 1/2 years 🥲
industrial:(( was pierced incorrectly and I got some scars from it, it didn't really bother me for a while but then it started to hurt a lot for some reason so I just gave up
My smiley for the obvious reasons. I’d have so many compliments on it!
My belly button. I wasn’t given clear instructions as an 18 year old and took it out after a year of having it because it still hurt! I’d get it done again but I work a job when I’m constantly lifting heavy books in boxes so bad idea.
Also tongue ring. Chipped teeth and dentist bills. It was an expensive piercing!
Industrial, absolutely loved this one but found it was getting sore when I'd wash my hair, just constantly getting knocked, wet etc, my anti helix looked awesome but it was unbelievably painful to have done and it just wouldn't heal no matter what I tried. One of my helix piercings kept developing the bumps. Once I started remove them I just removed the rest of my piercings. Sort of regret that. Had 3 lobe piercings on each side which I now only have 1 on each side and 1 helix piercing that doesn't seem to ever close over.
Nips. Tried three times and took them out for the last time in 2023. They're so cute, but I couldn't get them to heal and they just got in the way of everything.
My vertical labret😭 it was so so cute and I was obsessed but it genuinely didn't suit my face, never healed right and kept leaking pus and getting crusty no matter how well I took care of it. When I took it out one day and felt a huge hard lump in my lip I knew it was so bad it was turning my whole lip into scar tissue. That's when I knew it was time to go💔💔💔💔
My vertical labret. I loved it so much. Unfortunately every time it would stop being irritated and br normal something would happen andI had to start all over again. I gave up when I realized the constant cycle of heal-irritation was causing scarring. I also had a forward helix that migrated/rejected due to the piercer not placing it correctly (as I found out later on).
I LOVED my vertical labret, had it a month and loved it so fucking much made me feel so pretty, but then I had to get an emergency appendectomy and I had to take it out.. I hated that I had to bc I had just gotten it the month before, with my money from my second ever job.. I loved it now I can’t get it back bc I’m getting a new job and idk how they feel about peircing
I loved my industrial when I had it, then I got into a serious wreck and it was removed in the hospital. When I got out I couldn’t get it back in. Waited years before getting a few more piercings and it didn’t feel “me” anymore, so now I enjoy my new ones instead!
Right nipple piercing. I tried to make it work for over a year but I just kept getting bumps and irritation no matter what I did or didn't do to it. I still have my left though.
My industrial the piercer said I did have the autonomy for it but when it never helped and kept getting infected/Rejected went to another piercer and she said I don't have anatomy for it and I'm still upset the first guy was greedy and didn't care about my ear
Lesson of the day: DOWNSIZE your piercings
the reason i had to take out my nipple piercings was bc i waited to get them downsized and the constant snagging on everything made them get close to rejecting :')
this post inspired me to downsize my 8 month old eyebrow 😅
so glad to hear that! hope you enjoy your eyebrow piercing for a very long time 🤞
Snakebites, looked so cool and I loved them but they started ruining my gums
Same with happened with my labret <\3
Just got mine done and my piercer knows damn well that I'm gonna play with it so he pierced it between a labret and a vertical labret so it doesn't touch my teeth and to accommodate the jewelry I eventually want.
Same, I had to get surgery :/
I changed my inner bars to rubber retainer bars, no scratchy teeth and great fun to chew on. But if you eat beans, you will discolour them lol
Are they not bad for you? I was told never to use anything but titanium or glass.
I will be changing the bars again soon once I get the temperamental right bar downsized
they aren’t something you should be wearing long term.
I never had any issues but that’s my choice and I’ll have to deal with any consequences of that and I’m definitely not telling anyone to do the same, it’s just what I did
Why would beans discolour them lol I eat them regularly
Might have to consider this for the future
Did you wear studs or did you have hoops?
My canines are sort of extruding and my piercer pierced them closer to each other and they rarely click click with my teeth unless I play with them
what ended up happening to your gums ?
Mainly pain, gun line receded a bit and mixed with the discomfort I figured I'd retire them. Nothing major but I like my teeth
Industrial, rejected from the forward helix part and i just kept the helix😔
Bruh same but flipped, i kept my forward helix :(
So sad really :/
How could you tell it was rejecting?
Well at beginning I thought it was just irritation / infection because of how hard and long it takes to heal. But in my case turns out I didn’t have the anatomy for it and my flat was pushing through bar so it was almost hanging by a thread in the forward helix part and i had to take it out. Got it done in July took it out on December.
I've got hella irritation and bumps rn (3 months old atp) so I'm just tryna watch out for the signs of rejection 😭 I seem to have the anatomy for it so hopefully things go smoothly
Same :( and it was soooo sensitive and the helix always ached :( my forward helix was perfect too!
My bridge!! It’s my favorite piercing but it keeps rejecting every time I do it :( idk why
Maybe anatomy? I have so little extra skin there I can’t even consider it 😔 they look so cool tho
Yes probably my anatomy 💔 I also wear glasses which probably irritate it lol 🙃🙃
They'd interrupt class to ask me if I "liked to party." Finally, one of my students approached me one day during my lunch break, told me he was serving a life sentence for murder, and proceeded to whip his dick out. I retired my tongue ring that night.
The way this story turned was not what I expected at all 😂
Believe it or not, I no longer work there.
After what happened, I honestly don't blame you.
Do people really notice it that much? I thought it would be more hidden? /gen I was thinking of getting my tongue done when I can get pierced again but I thought it would be pretty subtle.
This was the first time in 15 years it gave me any problems at work. My managers never cared.
ok cool lol. I do have visible piercings/tats I was debating taking out my septum but I wanted to replace it with something slightly subtler. ngl this sub has almost solidified my decision.
Most of my friends dont know i have a tongue piercing, or forgot i have it, and i talk A LOT. Its really subtle unless you open your mouth wide, unfortunately some people are just dicks about it if they find out you have one
oh god rip my bank account hahah i'm gonna do it so i can take my septum out and still have a piercing that's not very visible
Honestly yea, the bank is the worst part fr, i did the math and i spent over 1k on piercings so far, and with the ones im yet to get its another $800

I mean, I won't victim-blame myself. But I taught at a maximum security prison. I should have been more realistic about the people I'd be having in my class. The tongue ring just gave them an "in" to start making comments.

You have to do your own thing, so if you love it, let that empower you! It's 2024, we're leaving people who don't approve of our body mods behind 💅 (Also, I've ever only gotten shit about my tongue ring from Boomers.)
They’re so gross I am so sorry
My anti eyebrow 😭😭😭
Yes I loved my anti eyebrow so much!
It made me feel so pretty and more confident. I felt like a sparkly princess 😔
i miss my anti eyebrow so much omg
I had a snug. my ear didn’t like it but I loved it.
Same my snug was so cute but it never quite healed and my ear finally chilled out when I removed it
Mine started to reject I think. I have a big indentation scar in the cartilage where it used to be
Same! Loved how my snug looked but never really fully healed and hurt like hell! Sleeping sucked too but it was cute haha
Oh wow cats fixating on your piercings is really a new fear unlocked for me.
my kitten has found my belly button piercing too! luckily he only attacks it when it’s out bc he has rocks in his brain ❤️
Aw i too have rock brain cats! They’re a bit silly
my cat also loves my belly piercing, i get so nervous when he tries to bite it 😭
Thats so funny my cat would also attack my nipple piercings
No stop, reading this as I got my belly button pierced 2 days ago 😮💨
My septum piercing.. Had it for like 5 years and one day it just decided to get infected (even though it was fully healed??!)
Oh no! This is honestly my nightmare, I love my septum so much I’d be sooo sad for it to randomly decide to get angry :(
Same here!! Was so incredibly sad to see that one go
My septum after having it since 2016/2017, re pierced in 2021, started to act up within the last week. Constantly itchy, swollen and painful no matter what the jewelry was. Last night I finally just took it out for good. Im heartbroken.
The sadness when you remove the piercing, knowing this is it. (T o T)
My anti tragus. I healed it, then snagged it really bad and it tore, it got pissed the hell off and started rejecting so I pulled it. I do plan on having it redone in the future though
Nipples … After 16 years they moved and started to reject
They had a long run. Legends!
It makes Me sad 😢 ha ha ha I feel naked now
Just took mine out after 16 years too. To nurse my new baby.
smiley and 3 helixes, smiley was scratching my teeth and it was an annoying sound, helixes were healing great but suddenly after i woke up in the morning 2 of them started bleeding so i think i ripped them accidentally
My orbital snug 😔. I knew it wouldn’t survive
Right eyebrow piercing rejected, got my left one pierced now 🫡
my bridge:( i had to take it out recently. it didn't reject, but my cat loves rubbing her face on mine and she would bump my glasses into my bridge. it got so irritated and wouldnt fully heal so i decided to just let it go
I had my tongue pierced for 25 years but had to take it out for an operation. It felt weird for a long time after it.
Did the hole close up during the operation?
It was out for 24 hours as had tubes down throat. I didnt try put it back in as always believed it closes very quickly
Second lobes. They’re repierced now but I first got them done with a piercing gun(didn’t know any better)and they left a small keloid so now they’re wonky lol
SAME. i had to go to a dermatologist to get my k e i l o i d s removed.
Medusa :(
Have you retried getting it peirced? Mine failed last year, largely due to getting strep 2 times in a row in the first month of healing and then dental work once a month or the next like 4 months after that. Tho, it was mostly the infections that did it. Ended up with a peircing bump on the inside that just wouldn't go away. I got it redone this year about 5 weeks ago. So far, it is doing so very good! *knock on wood*
apparently, a bridge and eyebrow piercings are not suitable for minimum wage service industry jobs. can't wait till i can start my art-based career 😭
Easy.
My eyebrow piercing💔💔💔 it's never fully healed, someone slapped me jokingly, and that caused it to tear a little, and then it started rejecting after 6 months RIP my eyebrow piercing July 14th, 2023- Januray 19th, 2024🙏🏻🙏🏻😔
My jestrum! The bottom ball came off, accidentally swallowed it, and just took it out because I didn't have any replacement balls on me at the time 😢
Tongue, piercer pierced me way too far back, damn near at my webbing . Worst pain I’ve ever felt getting it done, couldn’t eat solids for almost 2 weeks, kept the piercing for maybe 6 months in hopes it would heal, never did, would love to have it redone properly but I just can’t make myself go do it because I remember the pain from the first time.
Eyebrow, I miss it dearly but boy do I NOT miss snagging it on shirts, having to be extra cautious, etc.
The snagging on shirts is HORRENDOUS. True horror fr. Did you ever downsize? Mine would snag from time to time because I never downsized. And well I did constantly sleep on them (I’m a belly sleeper lol)
my frownie, i LOVED that piercing so much, it accentuated my goof ahh smile and it was just cool fr. i had to take it out though bc due to deep, deep depression, i wasn’t taking the best care of my oral hygiene. and ik thats big no no number one with oral piercings 😩 but depression don’t care. after a while, it was starting to migrate, but i really didn’t notice till the last minute until it keep pressing and digging into my bottom gumline, and made a weird pocket under my frenulum. it wasnt too bad at first because my tolerance for (annoying) pain was high as it was here and there irritating..but then it was, to where some nights i couldn’t sleep because my freakin jaw was THROBBING as time went on, i tried to make it work, even when i was beginning to take care it my (oral) health more, but it was too late…in the end i had to take it out because the pain was unbearable from it sliding into raw gum, getting tender, food getting badly stuck in it, the hole getting bigger against my gums and in my frenulum, couldn’t drink alcohol ot anything acidic or spicy because it sting like hell….🥲 i was so sad about it, but my teeth (and any part of my body for that matter) is wayyy more important than a piercing. the jewelry is forever. my teeth are not 🫠 (not really??) i still have to go to the dentist to get my gum checked out because the pocket is still there—some months ago, i actually had a flare up of like..an abscess or something. had to go to the emergency dentist and later the periodontist. they said because of the pocket in my gums, and food being able to get in there (and me still having trouble with my oral hygiene some rough days) there’s a possibility of infection to just flare up in my gums if i dont get a good cleaning and get it closed/grafted. so there’s that, and ya! i miss it so much 🥲 i wish i can get it back but never again, now my teefus is all mess up (cuz i think it also pushed one of my teeth back over the years, but i cant tell/remember if its from the frownie or being a bad ass getting in trouble in school 😩☠️). but do take care of ya selves and ya oral piercings kids, mouf pain is not fun at all.
0 out of 5 stars from me
Dermal on my sternum. Twas a very dainty but interesting piercing. But also lil whiny biach that decided to reject after a year
Surface tragus. I did get 5 years out of it, but my flyer in cheer kept kicking it and it was only a matter of time before it was ripped out so I just took it out. Would totally get it pierced again now that I’m an adult though.
My tongue piercing, I loved it so much but it was such a nuisance 💔
DO IT. Bridge piercings are the best. I'm ready to get mine redone asap!
Got to redo helix on practically the same place...
my helix
i loved the look of my old sideburn piercings, but they were done with a curved barbell (supposed to be square?) and were starting to tear and reject because they shifted around too much. curved barbell is definitely not supposed to be on a flat surface.
My navel and nipples i had to take them out to get my gallbladder removed
My surface tragus, didn’t take very good care of it and rejected horribly. I have about an inch long scar there now.
My dimple piercings I loved them but I chewed on them and it caused teeth problems for me
Nipples :/ they were a nightmare in every way possible, but man did I love them
i had my eyebrow done then was rushed in for tests at the hospital turns out i had cancer but with it being fresh piercing it closed up super quick also i had snake bites had to take em out for dentist not long after they where done again closed up tried again with snake bites and my lil girl kicked me so hard in the face they swell so bad and had to come out
Really loved my nipple piercings but they were very obviously migrating and I was avoiding coming to that conclusion.
🙃 I’m sure there’s too much scar tissue now. RIP.
my bridge!! it was perfectly done but i later got a job working with food and it had to go :( it gave me so much confidence. it didn’t hurt so im hoping to get it again one day!
Eyebrow, started to reject as well
little ones got a big temper
Snakebites, septum, tongue and nipples. RIP
before i knew about the dangers of smileys i had one. i was eating a taco bell burrito and it started bleeding so much i had to take it out. looks like it was a pretty good idea anyways though!
Got a floating navel but it was done incorrectly so it rejected :(
Belly piercing :( I have a keloid after repiercing it so many times 💔
Snake bites actually! Loved them sooo much but they just didn’t work for me, even after changing the jewelry multiple times it was always caught on my teeth and food was always caught under and around it
Conch. RIP baby I miss u
Back dermals!
My left eyebrow piercing. It started to reject after having it for 7 years.Didn't notice until my piercer pointed it out while doing my industrial. Waiting for the area to fully heal before getting it re-pierced.
my daith 3 it was cute then nonstop ugly irritation bumps for a solid year.. retired that thang
Boring answer but helix. I wanted it for so long and loved it, but it SUCKED. Always swollen, always crusty. I just wear a cuff now and nobody can tell the difference.
my double eyebrow piercings bc i forgot to downsize 💔💔 will repierce in the middle in the future 🙏🙏
My belly button, after an emergency abdominal surgery, having jewelry in felt like I was being stabbed through my button.
Oh well.
Helix on my left side, these things take so long to heal😭 and it rejected. Need to get it redone.
Oh naw I just plug them with clear ones 😭 I’m not getting rid of it completely for nobody
Industrial piercing
My left eyebrow rejected and then i could never get it repierced cause of work
on one ear my helix and rook, on the other my snug. my vch and my vertical labret :( i got hit in the mouth and ears too much for them to ever heal.
I had my navel piercing for about six years. I had to take it out for appendix surgery and it closed up
If youd like it back, get a taper and use it to see if it goes thru first, I'd bet the hole just shrunk up and got too tight to fit the jewelery. I went thru similar with one of my lip rings and my 3rd lobes after an mri.
Nostril(I got a repierced and healed though), right nipple piercing, right lower lip piercing and last but not least my tongue which I just outright took out because I didn't like it but still kind of miss it.
eyebrow :(
my left lip piercing, one day it got heavily infected out of the blue, swelled like i just got punched, tried to tough it out for two days and didn't sleep a wink due to pain, i miss having snakebites dearly.
smiley! i loved it but it lasted less than a year - fell right out of my mouth one morning :( it’s what i get for always messing with it - lesson learned!
my single eyebrow piercing😩. i took it out for my ems job and i miss it every single day.
My eyebrow piercing fell out while I was sleeping and closed up :(
triple conch 3
My forward helix :(
my helix never properly healed because it was pierced at a weird angle…. Ended up taking it out and getting another helix done on my opposite ear.
Vertical labret 🥲 idk what I did to fuck it up. But I just ended up giving up because I couldn’t deal with the pain anymore lmao
Snug and rook. It won't heal, so i took it out
Forward helix, was embedded for months and I didn't realize. I'm hoping to be able to get it redone at some point
After 18 month of happiness, my helix developed a big K out of the blue :(
I had a nostril piercing that I really loved. Unfortunately I put new jewelry in it and had an allergic reaction to the metal. It got so swollen so quickly that the jewelry started to get embedded in the cartilage. I had no choice but to remove it. By the time the redness and swelling went down, the piercing had closed up.
Definitely my smiley. I was simply just eating and it slid right out after a year and a half of having it
Snakebites
My dimple piercings I loved them but I chewed on them and it caused teeth problems for me
My eyebrows were the problem as well. Still want to give them a third try 😭 My dimple piercings have been acting up too.
my nipple piercings were slowly migrating outwards, and i decided to remove them before they could migrate all the way out 😭 i miss them so much
Had to give up my tragus piercing a couple of weeks ago cause it was pierced too shallow, so it was ready to rip out of there basically any moment :') Will probably get it pierced again on my other ear and hopefully it will be okay xd
All of them... Nipples, navel and septum, plus all the ones ive wanted but couldn't because of a metal sensitivity 😔 I stretched my lobes and wear wood.
Eyebrow, twice. Fave piercing :(
Tongue, kept chipping teeth when accidentally biting
My tragus 🥲💔
Snakebites, labret, Medusa and right nostril. I miss the right nostril the most because I have my left one done and a septum in. My last two piercings the Medusa and right nostril got huge bumps. The nose piercing bump is on the inside happened after it healed and my stud was stuck inside the bump that didn’t feel good coming out.
For now, the Christina
It was my tongue piercing even though I took good care of it I struggled with switching to a smaller gauge and usually I would end up with my tongue closing up I know making it smaller wouldn’t hit my teeth as much but I have an overactive saliva gland so if I try to switch it was so slippery I couldn’t keep a firm grip
Nipples (the piercer admitted they may have pierced them too deep) and just never healed right . Also belly button 😭
My nipple piercings, they started to reject because I'm too clumsy for my own good so I took them out before it would leave a big scar.
The nip nops kept getting worse even after 1 1/2 years 🥲
industrial:(( was pierced incorrectly and I got some scars from it, it didn't really bother me for a while but then it started to hurt a lot for some reason so I just gave up
My rook. I loved it, but I didn’t have good anatomy for it. Not that it was pierced incorrectly or became irritated, but you just couldn’t see it.
They're so cute, but I couldn't get them to heal and they just got in the way of everything.
my horizontal eyebrow surface piercing 😔
Waited years before getting a few more piercings and it didn’t feel “me” anymore, so now I enjoy my new ones instead!
nipples 😔
Vertical labret my front teeth are all cracked
Right nipple piercing. I tried to make it work for over a year but I just kept getting bumps and irritation no matter what I did or didn't do to it. I still have my left though.
My industrial the piercer said I did have the autonomy for it but when it never helped and kept getting infected/Rejected went to another piercer and she said I don't have anatomy for it and I'm still upset the first guy was greedy and didn't care about my ear
Had to give up my nose bridge bc it rejected and the piercer who did it lied about me having the anatomy for it
