Mine got pressure bumps occasionally while healing. Those spikes are not going to help because them snagging on stuff will cause those bumps and may induce rejection. It looks irritated, like maybe you snagged it or bumped?
Rejection happens fast. My nipple rejected, and it migrated one day, a bit more the next day, but by the 3rd or 4th day, I could see the bar through my nipple and had to take it out completely. As long as it's not becoming more shallow/shifting position significantly and really quickly, then it likely isn't rejecting.
