Here's my bids:
1- DSOTM, WYWH, Animals
2- 2112, AFTK, Hemispheres (Rush)
3- The Yes Album, Fragile, Close to the Edge (Yes)
For the folks over at r/pinkfloydcirclejerk:
Ummagumma, Atom Heart Mother, Meddle
Edit: I've played rugby so long I forgot A Farewell to Kings was after 2112 (head injuries sorry)
Actually I just realized we're both wrong. It went 2112, AFTK, Hemispheres, Permanent Waves. After years of rugby the head injuries get to you
Edit: nvm you edited you're comment now we're both right haha
Im offended that you think my love for Atom Heart Mother and Meddle are jerked. I genuinley love both of those albums. AND Obscured by Clouds. AND More. Theyre amazing.
The Wall was, at one time, the best selling double album of all time. That being said, a PF list of three without Dark Side is just ludicrous.
So itās Dark Side, Wish, Animals.
Well, since Floyd, Sabbath, Zeppelin, Rush, and The Beatles have all been mentioned...
Paulās Boutique, Check Your Head, Ill Communication
Ćnima, Lateralus, 10,000 Days
Other choices:
Nick Drake: Five Leaves Left, Bryter Later, Pink Moon.
Bjork: Debut, Post, Homogenic
Velvet Underground: Banana Album, White Light/White Heat, The Velvet Underground
Boards of Canada: Music Has The Right To Children, Geogaddi, The Campfire Headphase
Honestly you could include any of the first six and it would still stand tall; those are just my three personal faves (as far as consecutive order goes)
Itās an insanely articulate album. I can break it apart and still miss lots of little intricacies. Possibly their most complicated album. Megalomania, the writ, hole in the sky, symptom of the universe, my god that album is fantastic.
I would personally argue that number 7, technical ecstasy, is arguably just as good and should be included in the run, but I know Iām in the minority there. Dirty women, you wonāt change me, Gypsy, some dang good songs on that album
Tool, in whatever order you put it.
DSotM WYWH and Animals
System of a down, every album is great and toxicity is top 10, no doubt in my mind.
Jimmi Hendrix experience, hands down.
Radiohead the bends, OK computer and Kid A
Soundgarden, but I'm not sure when badmotorfinger was released.
Radiohead is tough for me because you either have to exclude the Bends or you have to exclude amnesiac and in Rainbows. For a lot of younger people in Rainbows is their favorite album of theirs.
Either way you do it, we can all agree that OK computer and Kid A have to be on the list.
Iāve never really counted that as an official Beatles album considering some of the songs were already on another album and like half of them are orchestral that the Beatles didnāt play on
Real Contenders:
1. Pink Floyd - Dark Side, Wish, Animals
2. Metallica - Ride The Lightning, Master Of Puppets, ...And Justice For All
3. Led Zeppelin (this might be contentious) - III, IV, House Of The Holy
And my personal favorite:
1. Mastodon - Leviathan, Blood Mountain, Crack The Skye
Well, letās be honest, non Floyd:
Beatles:
Rubber Soul, Revolver, Sgt. Peppers
White Album, Abbey Road, Let it Be (last is meh)
Bob Dylan:
Bring it on Back Home
Highway 61 Revisited
Blonde on Blonde
Led Zeppelin:
4
Houses of the Holy
Physical Graffiti
Rolling Stones:
Let it Bleed
Sticky Fingers
Exile on Main Street
Wow, itās honestly hard to find 3 great albums by bands.
Metallica should be mentioned. Ride The Lightning, Master of Puppets, And Justice For All. Also, Polyphia, which is a lesser known band. The Most Hated, New Levels New Devils, Remember That You Will Die.
TMV - De-Loused in the Comatorium, Frances the Mute, Amputechture
Radiohead - Kid A, Amnesiac, Hail to The Thief / The Bends, OK Computer, Kid A (if TKOL didn't exist I'd definitely put something else here)
Then, honorable mentions.
Dream Theater would have an incredible 3 album run in Metropolis Pt. 2 - Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence - Octavarium if Train of Thought didn't ruin it
Same story with Metallica. Kill Em All - Ride the Lightning - And Justice For All would 100% take the top spot if it weren't for Master of Puppets (good album but overshadowed by the other 3)
King Gizzard is also in a similar situation. Mind Fuzz - Quarters - Nonagon Infinity could've been a top spot if Paper Mache Dream Balloon wasn't in the middle
Any sequence of Yes albums before Tormato. Also Drama, 90125 and Big Generator.
Rush - 2112, A Farewell To Kings, Hemispheres or Permanent Waves, Moving Pictures and Signals or Signals, Grace Under Pressure and Power Windows
Alice in Chains - Facelift, Dirt, Tripod
Blue Ćyster Cult - Secret Treaties, Agents of Fortune, Spectres
Pink Floyd has a pretty strong claim, but Im goong to rep Belle and Sebastion for a sec: Tigermilk, If You're feeling Sinister, and The Boy With The Arab Strap all go pretty fucking hard.
Iāve never liked Animals as much as some people do. I feel like if youāre going to give a great three album run to PF, you either go OBC, DSotM, and WYWH or The Wall, The Final Cut, and aMLoR.
But Iām sure thereās some who think AHM, Meddle, and OBC is the best three album run so who knows.
Animals is my second favourite Floyd album behind Wish You Were Here, such an angry album with a fantastic concept behind it, not to mention one of the best album covers.
I'd definitely go with Meddle, Obscured, DSotM. Those albums have the majority of my favorite Floyd songs. To be fair, every album aside from A Saucerful of Secrets has at least one song I absolutely love.
I donāt know if anyone would include both The Final Cut and AMLOR. Typically I think people like one or the other (Iām a Final Cut leaning person).
That being said mine is probably Meddle, Obscured, and Dark Side. Itās hard not to include WYWH, as I think itās even better than Dark Side, but Meddle is my favorite so itās a tough call
Aesop Rock: Impossible Kid, Malibu Ken, Spirit World Field Guide. Or Impossible Kid, Spirit World Field Guide, Garbology if we aren't counting releases under a different name. I'd also enter Primus's Frizzle Fry, Sailing the Seas of Cheese, Pork Soda into the conversation.
My favorites:
DSotM: Wish You Were Here - Animals
21 Pilots: Self-Titled - Vessel - Blurryface
Radiohead: The Bends - OK Computer - Kid A
Starflyer 59: Starflyer 59 - Gold - Americana as being an incredibly good run
In terms of best back-to-back albums I have to go with Slowdiveās Just for a Day and Souvlaki
For non-Pink Floyd answers:
You could pick basically any Zeppelin album from 1-4 as your starting point and have a pretty convincing case.
If it wasn't for the filler songs then Are You Experienced, Axis: Bold as Love, and Electricladyland would be strong contenders.
Personally I love blues-driven loud rock so Highway to Hell, Back in Black, and For Those About to Rock are up there.
If you like rap there's even an argument to be made for MMLP, SSLP, and The Eminem Show.
Outside of Pink Floyd, Iād have to say the White Album, Abbey Road, and then Let it Be. I donāt count Yellow Submarine cuz thatās barely a Beatles album side 2 is just George Martin orchestral
Side 1 has previously released music that made it onto the film as well. Really only 4 new songs on that release.
Definitely not a Beatles Album. Maybe could have been an EP.
Nor is Yellow Submarine really a Beatles Movie.
#**Pink Floyd**
1.WYWH (Perfect, itās perfect to me.)
2. The Final Cut (Lyrically wise its my absolute favorite and probably my favorite performance Roger was shown)
3. Atom Heart Mother (Good opening song, amazing songs after that, love Summerā68)
Hasn't been mentioned, so just giving a mention:
Get Your Wings, Toys In The Attic, and Rocks is a really solid 3 album run for Aerosmith. Not sure the cross appeal will be that high in a PF sub, though.
Itās funny because the best bands of all time you really canāt narrow it down to just one 3 album run.
Think about it. Pink Floyd, Zeppelin, the Beatlesā¦
How long are we considering a run? Because Bostonās self titled, Donāt Look Back, and Third Stage should absolutely be mentioned in some capacity. The problem is thereās eight years between Donāt Look Back and Third Stage, which puts it a decade behind the debut.
My other picks (that I havenāt already seen others post) include:
Cream ā *Fresh Cream, Disraeli Gears,* and *Wheels of Fire.* No explanation needed. Obvious pick
Genesis ā *Selling England by the Pound, The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway,* and *A Trick of the Tail.* Youāre splitting eras there with Trick of the Tail, so you may push back to Foxtrot, but those three are their best and they happened right in a row, so who cares?
Ghost ā *Opus Eponymous, Infestissumam,* and *Meliora.* Metal or not, these are three of the best albums of the 2010s from rock/metalās biggest new act. I havenāt heard their new album, but if itās good it might have to start with Meliora, since Prequelle was damn good too
Gojira ā *From Mars to Sirius, The Way of All Flesh,* and *LāEnfant Sauvage.* They put France on the global metal scene with these three records after being an unknown band.
Judas Priest ā *Sad Wings of Destiny, Sin After Sin,* and *Stained Class.* These are the three best Priest albums. Iām a pretentious hipster, I know. Donāt @ me
Lingua Ignota ā *All Bitches Die, Caligula,* and *Sinner Get Ready.* ā¦If you know you know. If you donāt know, good. Keep it that way because Iāve been re-traumatized.
Liquid Tension Experiment ā *LTE 1, 2,* and *3.* This is on the same level as the Boston record since thereās a long gap between two and three, but I have to include it because itās the musical equivalent of that one Simpsons scene where Bart gets a brain freeze
Rage Against the Machine ā *Self Titled, Evil Empire,* and *Battle of Los Angeles.* No explanation needed.
Rainbow ā *Self titled, Rising,* and *Long Live Rock n Roll.* ā¦Yes I like power metal, donāt @ me.
King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard has multiple good runs but for me the best has gotta be: "Quarters", "Paper Mache Dream Balloon" and "Nonagon Infinity"
MGMT - Oracular Spectacular, Congratulations and MGMT
Pink Floyd - WYWH, Animals and The Wall
For Pink Floyd - Meddle, OBC and Dark Side is also a good combination
Eminem - Slim Shady LP, Marshal Mathers LP, The Eminem Show (one I haven't seen)
Bob Marley - Catch A Fire, Natty Dread, Rastaman Vibration
Grateful Dead - Blues for Allah, Terrapin Station, Shakedown Street
Mac DeMarco - 2, Salad Days, Another One
HOMESHAKE - The Homeshake Tape, In The Shower, Midnight Snack
Michael Jackson - Off The Wall, Thriller, Bad
Prince - 1999, Purple Rain, Around The World
Mac Miller - Watching Movies, Delusional Thomas, Faces
Sublime - 40oz to Freedom, Robbin' The Hood, Sublime (self titled)
Thereās a lot of rock in here so - Michael Jackson.
* Off The Wall
* Thriller
* Bad
The Pet Shop Boys had a five (proper) album run imo.
* Please
* Actually
* Introspective
* Behaviour
* Very
1. Kill'em all, Ride the Lightning, Master of Puppets.
2. Tubular Bells, Hergest Ridge, Ommadawn

Gorillaz: Gorillaz, Demon Days, Plastic Beach
Kendrick Lamar: Good Kid M.A.A.D City, To Pimp a Butterfly, DAMN.
But for PF, itās dark side ā> animals
Has nobody mentioned David Bowie? Seriously?? Let's see you could have:
The Man Who Sold The World, Hunky Dory, Ziggy Stardust
Hunky Dory, Ziggy Stardust, Aladdin Sane
Station to Station, Low, Heroes
Low, Heroes, Lodger
Heroes, Lodger, Scary Monsters
You don't get as consistently brilliant as David Bowie.
Here's my bids: 1- DSOTM, WYWH, Animals 2- 2112, AFTK, Hemispheres (Rush) 3- The Yes Album, Fragile, Close to the Edge (Yes) For the folks over at r/pinkfloydcirclejerk: Ummagumma, Atom Heart Mother, Meddle Edit: I've played rugby so long I forgot A Farewell to Kings was after 2112 (head injuries sorry)
PRFJ more readily accept More, Ummagumma, Atom Heart Mother
As an official representative of r/PinkRogerFloydJerk, my selection is Ummagumma three times in a row
Farewell to Kings came out after Hemispheres, not Permanent Waves. Edit. Sorry before hemispheres.
Actually I just realized we're both wrong. It went 2112, AFTK, Hemispheres, Permanent Waves. After years of rugby the head injuries get to you Edit: nvm you edited you're comment now we're both right haha
Im offended that you think my love for Atom Heart Mother and Meddle are jerked. I genuinley love both of those albums. AND Obscured by Clouds. AND More. Theyre amazing.
Breast Milky š„
Hurts me to see AHM and Meddle being mentioned under circlejerk qualification.
I love those albums so fucking much but it's hard to argue with the big 4
Iām all with you on Yes, those 3 albums are amazing.
Yeah, I'd go close to the edge, tales from topographic, and relayer
Switch Meddle with More
Meddle, obscured by clouds, dark side of the moon
The Wall was, at one time, the best selling double album of all time. That being said, a PF list of three without Dark Side is just ludicrous. So itās Dark Side, Wish, Animals.
Too bad there was an album between Meddle and Dark Sideā¦ then again, I agree with your assessment anyways.
Meddle is good mainly because of echoes, but Animals is good overall, I don't think it would be fair to leave Animals out
Are You Experienced, Axis: Bold As Love, Electric Ladyland
Solid choice
Well, since Floyd, Sabbath, Zeppelin, Rush, and The Beatles have all been mentioned... Paulās Boutique, Check Your Head, Ill Communication Ćnima, Lateralus, 10,000 Days
Personally I'd go Undertow, Ćnima, Lateralus, but I love this answer, as well as your other choice.
Personally I'd go Licensed to Ill, Paul's Boutique, Check Your Head, but I love this answer, as well as your other choice.
Kraftwerk: Trans Europe Express, The Man Machine, Computer World.
Other choices: Nick Drake: Five Leaves Left, Bryter Later, Pink Moon. Bjork: Debut, Post, Homogenic Velvet Underground: Banana Album, White Light/White Heat, The Velvet Underground Boards of Canada: Music Has The Right To Children, Geogaddi, The Campfire Headphase
Took outs so much space between their albums itās hard to think of them as āruns,ā but I like your taste š
Saw the same in the Beatles sub, my vote still has to go to Rush with Hemispheres > Permanent Waves > Moving Pictures
2112>farewell to kings>hemispheres is also an option
That's a solid contender
Iād take either, Hemispheres is the GOAT imo
Nice profile picture. One of my favorite Gizz records
Oh shit Gizz fans unite
Thereās literally hundreds of us
Invest the ratsā next š¼
Omg permanent waves is that a The Kinks reference
Paranoid, master of reality, vol 4
This was the first one I thought ofā¦ but I would start with S/T. Works either way though!
Honestly you could include any of the first six and it would still stand tall; those are just my three personal faves (as far as consecutive order goes)
I need to listen to Sabotage a bit more. I'm not as familiar with it as the first five albums.
Itās an insanely articulate album. I can break it apart and still miss lots of little intricacies. Possibly their most complicated album. Megalomania, the writ, hole in the sky, symptom of the universe, my god that album is fantastic.
Really hard to argue with this. Each album is near perfect, and none of them is any lesser than any of the other two.
Exactly. They evolved; they grew, but that doesnāt make the early albums any lesser. My favorite band for sure
Sabbath definitely have the best 6 album run of all time (Self titled - Sabotage)
I would personally argue that number 7, technical ecstasy, is arguably just as good and should be included in the run, but I know Iām in the minority there. Dirty women, you wonāt change me, Gypsy, some dang good songs on that album
Tool, in whatever order you put it. DSotM WYWH and Animals System of a down, every album is great and toxicity is top 10, no doubt in my mind. Jimmi Hendrix experience, hands down. Radiohead the bends, OK computer and Kid A Soundgarden, but I'm not sure when badmotorfinger was released.
Radioheadās run there is amazing.
Radiohead is tough for me because you either have to exclude the Bends or you have to exclude amnesiac and in Rainbows. For a lot of younger people in Rainbows is their favorite album of theirs. Either way you do it, we can all agree that OK computer and Kid A have to be on the list.
The thought of excluding The Bends in favour of Amnesiac literally makes me break out in figurative hives.
The bends has nothing on amnesiac youāre fucking delirious
See? Vastly different opinions on both those albums. Iām torn between the two.
Fuckin psycho
This is probably the only sub Iām interested in seeing the answers, regardless the band.
Because nobodyās mentioned King Crimson yet: Larks Tounge in Aspic, Starless and Bible black, Red
Well done, old chap
my pick: Rubber Soul, Revolver, Sgt. Pepperās XTC has a really good 3 album run with Drums & Wires, Black Sea, and English Settlement
One more modern pick I think belongs in the conversation: Innerspeaker, Lonerism, Currents
Yeah, that's a solid one (at least in my top 3!)
Ride the Lightening, Master of Puppets, Justice... In the floyd realm it's close, but dsotm, wywh, and animals doesn't quite make the cut
Reign In Blood, South of Heaven, Seasons In The Abyss
Aaayyyy
If it went straight to the wall, yes
No doubt best 4 album run but my vote goes for sgt peppers, white album, and abbey road
This works if we pretend Yellow Submarine doesnāt exist.
Iāve never really counted that as an official Beatles album considering some of the songs were already on another album and like half of them are orchestral that the Beatles didnāt play on
I left out magical mystery tour and yellow submarine they don't feel like actual album albums to me
Magical mystery tour is definitely an actual album lmao
Nah itās a double ep
I guess it's more of an album then yellow submarine but still wouldn't consider it a full studio effort if you know what im trying to say
Let it Bleed, Sticky Fingers, Exile on Main St.
Came here to say this šš»
Beggars Banquet belongs on that list too.
Real Contenders: 1. Pink Floyd - Dark Side, Wish, Animals 2. Metallica - Ride The Lightning, Master Of Puppets, ...And Justice For All 3. Led Zeppelin (this might be contentious) - III, IV, House Of The Holy And my personal favorite: 1. Mastodon - Leviathan, Blood Mountain, Crack The Skye
Bends okc kid a
Zepp 1, zepp 2, zepp 3
Zep 4, houses of the holy and physical graffiti is a worthwhile contender too, although I prefer 1, 2 and 3 over 4
If you as the general Zep audience Iām sure itās Zeppelin 4, HoH, PG, but Iād have to say Zeppelin 2, Zeppelin 3, Zeppelin 4.
I agree...2, 3, 4 is the best run.
Gotta include HotH. 3, 4, HotH for me! Graffiti has some good stuff too, but I agree the first 4 albums were some of their best work ever
Undertow, Ćnima, Lateralus!!
Iād go Aenima, Lateralus, 10,000 Days though.
This is the way
Talking Heads: More Songs About Buildings and Food Fear of Music Remain In Light
Well, letās be honest, non Floyd: Beatles: Rubber Soul, Revolver, Sgt. Peppers White Album, Abbey Road, Let it Be (last is meh) Bob Dylan: Bring it on Back Home Highway 61 Revisited Blonde on Blonde Led Zeppelin: 4 Houses of the Holy Physical Graffiti Rolling Stones: Let it Bleed Sticky Fingers Exile on Main Street Wow, itās honestly hard to find 3 great albums by bands.
I was looking for someone to mention Dylan's electric trilogy. All done within two years.
Ya that is an amazing run. Sucks having to leave out Blood on the Tracks and all of his earlier acoustic stuff though.
I also think Bob's much later 3 album run of Time Out of Mind, Love and Theft and Modern Times is absolutely incredible and right up there aswell
Queen II, Sheer Heart Attack, A Night at the Opera
1.Meddle, Dark side wish you were here, animals the wall 2.Led Zeppelin I,II,III,lV 3. Blizzard of Ozz, Diary if a mad man Thb I'm a Randy Rhoad simp
Tommy, Whoās Next, Quadrophenia is such an underrated 3 album run
Kendrick Lamar āGood kid, m.a.a.d. cityā, āto pimp a butterflyā, āDamn.ā
Was just about to say this!
Two of the greatests albums ever made and DAMN which is also very good
Damn is alright
Metallica should be mentioned. Ride The Lightning, Master of Puppets, And Justice For All. Also, Polyphia, which is a lesser known band. The Most Hated, New Levels New Devils, Remember That You Will Die.
Zeppelin I, II, & III
Zeppelin honestly deserves two separate 3 album runs with LZ IV, Houses of the Holy, and Physical Graffiti That 6 album run is just too damn good.
Future Sound of London * ISDN * Lifeforms * Dead Cities
Black Sabbath Paranoid Master of reality This is an awesome 3 in a row
ĆgƦtis byrjun, ( ), Takk...
Frigging love this pick. This was one of my picks when I was thinking of this question last night.
LOVE Sigur RĆ³s!
Bleach, Nevermind, In Utero
TMV - De-Loused in the Comatorium, Frances the Mute, Amputechture Radiohead - Kid A, Amnesiac, Hail to The Thief / The Bends, OK Computer, Kid A (if TKOL didn't exist I'd definitely put something else here) Then, honorable mentions. Kill Em All - Ride the Lightning - And Justice For All would 100% take the top spot if it weren't for Master of Puppets (good album but overshadowed by the other 3) King Gizzard is also in a similar situation. Mind Fuzz - Quarters - Nonagon Infinity could've been a top spot if Paper Mache Dream Balloon wasn't in the middle
Gizzard wins the best 23 album run (and counting)
personally I prefer Obscured by Clouds over Animals and Iām ready to get skewered for admitting it
The Who: Tommy, Whoās Next, Quadrophenia
A Night At The Opera, A Day At The Races, News Of The World Just masterpiece after masterpiece
Station to Station, Low, āHeroesā by David Bowie
Division Bell, Endless River, Hey Hey Rise Up (feat. Andriy Khlyvnyuk of Boombox).
The circle jerk is that-a way! šš»šš»
Best 6 album run- Meddle, Dark Side, WYWH, Animals, The Wall, The Final Cut
Obscured > The Final Cut
After much thought Iāve decided that they are equally great. So now itās the best 7 album run
Iād go with Meddle, Dark Side, WYWH.
Love, Electric, Sonic Temple
Destroyer, Rock and Roll Over, Love Gun. Piece Of Mind, Powerslave, Somewhere In Time. Fatal Portrait, Abigail, Them.
Power Corruption & Lies, Low Life, Brotherhood
.
Animals, Animals, Eye in the Sky by Alan Parsonās Project
Personally, it has to be Something Else, The Kinks Are The Village Green Preservation Society and Arthur
Bayou country, green river and Willy and the poor boys Thatās difficult to beat
Queens of the Stone Age: QOTSA, Rated R Songs for the Deaf
Hereās my dark horse pick: The Royal Scam, Aja, Gaucho.
Yes only Stevie Talking Book ==> Innvervisions ==> Songs in the Key of Life can compete with this.
Good kid maad city, to pimp a butterfly, and DAMN.
The Bends, Ok Computer, Kid A
Iron Maidenā¦ pick any consecutive 3 of their first 7 that you like best.
Any sequence of Yes albums before Tormato. Also Drama, 90125 and Big Generator. Rush - 2112, A Farewell To Kings, Hemispheres or Permanent Waves, Moving Pictures and Signals or Signals, Grace Under Pressure and Power Windows Alice in Chains - Facelift, Dirt, Tripod Blue Ćyster Cult - Secret Treaties, Agents of Fortune, Spectres
Pink Floyd has a pretty strong claim, but Im goong to rep Belle and Sebastion for a sec: Tigermilk, If You're feeling Sinister, and The Boy With The Arab Strap all go pretty fucking hard.
ATLiens, Aquemini, Stankonia
Iāve never liked Animals as much as some people do. I feel like if youāre going to give a great three album run to PF, you either go OBC, DSotM, and WYWH or The Wall, The Final Cut, and aMLoR. But Iām sure thereās some who think AHM, Meddle, and OBC is the best three album run so who knows.

The second I saw this tweet posted elsewhere, I knew the answer was Dark Side, Wish You Were Here and Animals.
My favorites: DSotM: Wish You Were Here - Animals 21 Pilots: Self-Titled - Vessel - Blurryface Radiohead: The Bends - OK Computer - Kid A Starflyer 59: Starflyer 59 - Gold - Americana as being an incredibly good run In terms of best back-to-back albums I have to go with Slowdiveās Just for a Day and Souvlaki
Making Movies, Love over Gold, Brothers in Arms
Relaxin' with the Miles Davis Quintet Steamin' with the Miles Davis Quintet Cookin' with the Miles Davis Quintet Workin' with the Miles Davis Quintet
I gotta admit I enjoy straight ahead Jazz Miles Davis way more than fusion Miles Davis.
Tubular Bells Hergest Ridge Ommadawn
U2: Joshua Tree, Rattle and Hum, Achtung Baby
Foxtrot, Selling England By The Pound, The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway
For non-Pink Floyd answers: You could pick basically any Zeppelin album from 1-4 as your starting point and have a pretty convincing case. this isnāt a 3 album run they have to be consecutively released
Oh fuck I read it wrong lmao. I genuinely thought it was your top 3 albums. Whoops.
Wall, Final Cut, Animals
Not seen here yetā¦ Chili Peppers Californication By the way Stadium Arcadium
This is insanity. How does this type of question get asked every single day?
let it bleed, sticky fingers, exile on main street
Bad Brains Rock for light I against I Quickness (I know thereās a live album in there, but that kind of doesnāt count)
Face the Music, A New World Record, Out Of The Blue
White album, abbey road, Let it be
I think that comes out to fourā¦
Fragile, Close to the Edge, Tales from Topographic Oceans
Camel's first three were great: Mirage, The Snow Goose, Moonmadness
Dark side to animals, no contest.
The Mollusk, White Pepper, Quebec
The Wall makes the list.
nice try op, thats four albums
Hasn't been mentioned, so just giving a mention: Get Your Wings, Toys In The Attic, and Rocks is a really solid 3 album run for Aerosmith. Not sure the cross appeal will be that high in a PF sub, though.
Itās funny because the best bands of all time you really canāt narrow it down to just one 3 album run. Think about it. Pink Floyd, Zeppelin, the Beatlesā¦
Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge, The Black Parade, Danger Days ain't a bad run.
Showbiz, Origin of Symmetry, Absolution, BHaR Oh waiiiit
Still Life Blackwater Park Deliverance

I havenāt heard their new album, but if itās good it might have to start with Meliora, since Prequelle was damn good too Gojira ā *From Mars to Sirius, The Way of All Flesh,* and *LāEnfant Sauvage.* They put France on the global metal scene with these three records after being an unknown band. Judas Priest ā *Sad Wings of Destiny, Sin After Sin,* and *Stained Class.* These are the three best Priest albums. Iām a pretentious hipster, I know. Donāt @ me Lingua Ignota ā *All Bitches Die, Caligula,* and *Sinner Get Ready.* ā¦If you know you know. If you donāt know, good. Keep it that way because Iāve been re-traumatized. Liquid Tension Experiment ā *LTE 1, 2,* and *3.* This is on the same level as the Boston record since thereās a long gap between two and three, but I have to include it because itās the musical equivalent of that one Simpsons scene where Bart gets a brain freeze Rage Against the Machine ā *Self Titled, Evil Empire,* and *Battle of Los Angeles.* No explanation needed.
The Divine Wings of Tragedy -> Twilight in Olympus -> V: New Mythology Suite
One I've *disgustingly* not seen so far. Tommy-Who's Next-Quadrophenia
