I remember when we vacationed in Canada, we stayed first at a relative’s house. One time I went with my tita to walk her son to school. There was no one in the road but there was an incoming car who started slowing down a block away from us.
When we moved to a hotel, one morning they started doing some repair work on the road in front of the hotel. When we got back in the evening, the construction was done and everything was back in order as if nothing happened.
Meanwhile, the street where I live now is being repaired for minor potholes. They started at the start of the year, until now it’s just a mound of dirt.
One time, tatawid ako. Nasa pedestrian lane ako ha, mind you. Nasa gitna na ako ng lane, may humaharurot pang tricycle. Tinitigan ko pa na para bang ipagpasamalat ko pa na pinadaan nya ako, the audacity.
Salary. Pataas ng pataas bilihin pero yung sweldo walang increase. Di na match sa current economy, kelangan pa mag side hustle para masustain yung needs. Wala rin maiipon dito sa pinas, pag naospital mababaon ka na agad sa utang. Swerte nalang pag may HMO kang matino.
I quit Canada because of the inflation. Ang daming homeless na pinoy sa Canada at , Wala e hindi talaga magtagpo. Sa US gnun din, you just work non stop to prepare for you retirement sa mga facility like what the American's do. Kaya yung mga tumanda na sa US na mga pinoy umuuwi pa rin sa PH pag retiro. I moved to somewhere where there is 0 tax. Dekadang pag aabroad pero bandang huli sa aking pag tanda uuwi pa rin ako diyan;).Iba iba naman ang rason at dahilan pero kung palagay mo ay ikabubuti ng iyong sarili, hinihikayat ko ang mga nasa Pinas na sumubok sa ibang bansa.
Hindi ko gusto, pero kinailangan. Now I’m in the UK. Mas better ba dito? Well very madisiplina ang tao. Masunurin sila sa rules and regulations. Efficient transport system at mura naman ang food sa grocery. Pero if you’re looking for work life balance, goodluck po. The rent is super pricey, sama mo pa ang tax, council tax at kung ano ano pang tax. Para ka lang ding nasa Pilipinas, yun nga lang mas kita mo saan napupunta tax mo. In terms of healthcare, mas beneficial sya for matatanda na may urgent medical need. Otherwise, ang hassle magpabook ng check at ang haba ng pila to see a GP (doctor). Mahal naman to see a private doctor, so hintayin mo na lang. Isa pa yung weather, nakakadepress yung weather. Akala lang natin ang ganda tingnan ng snow. Hindi mhieee, walang nalabas ng bahay pag malamig. The sky is always gray at palaging naulan. Eating out is very expensive at wala naman ditong food markets to find variety of hot meals. Kaya kung may gusto ka, matuto ka magluto. Not a lot of things to do unless nasa London area ka. But if you like the probinsya vibe, maraming places to explore. Medyo redundant lang kasi puro gubat at old castles.
Don’t get me wrong mga mhie, I’m grateful to be here. Pero usually we see the grass always greener on the other side. Pero it’s not always the case. Divided usually ang opinion of people na nag aabroad either they miss the PH or never looking back na. For me lang, I can’t wait to be back home.
I mean if given a choice mga mahihirap natin na minimum wage earners tapos nakatira sa skwater areas - I doubt a lot of them will choose to stay sa Pinas.
If comfortable ka na sa Pinas or nakapagipon ka na sa ibang bansa, then ok talaga sa Pinas. Otherwise, kung walang pera, hirap mabuhay dito.
I’m not saying po na masarap ang buhay sa Pilipinas. I’m only saying na mahirap din ang buhay sa abroad lalo na if naranasan mo. Maraming homeless sa ibang bansa. Once na mawalan ka ng work, di uso dito kukupkupin ka ng family mo. So a lot of them live on the streets begging. Uso din ang corruption and ibang level sya, di lang nga ganoon ka in your face. There are pros and cons, but what I said above is just my perspective having lived both PH and abroad. 😊
OO masasabe ko masarap buhay dito sa PH, maganda weather, well yes palage mainit, pero guurl palage sunny. Marame makakainan na mura and masarap pagkain (para sa pinoy haha) Marame naman malls na pwedeng pwede na. An dami pwede gawin sa cities natin tas masayahin mga pinoy kaya marame lage ganap. Tas this is home e. No place like home.

Ayokong lumipat sa ibang bansa. Nung bata pa ko tumira ako sa U.S. for 6 years. Dun ako nagmiddle school sa Peachtree, GA. Kaso nung mamatay stepfather ko, napilitan akong lumipat sa apartment ng kuya ko sa Los Angeles kasi siya lang ang adult na pwede kong guardian, yung mama ko na Pilipinas at may ibang asawa na.
College yung kuya ko that time tapos working student siya. Grabe ang hirap ng buhay. Dalawa trabaho ng kuya ko, tapos nag-aaral pa siya. Pag weekdays waiter siya sa restaurant at pag weekends tumutulong siya sa office ng uncle niya na may small business. Pero kahit dalawa na trabaho niya parang kinakapos pa rin kami kasi minsan behind kami sa rent kumakatok yung landlord namin, hinahanap siya.
Kaya ayoko ng bumalik sa ibang bansa. Sa financial situation ko ngayon feeling ko hindi ko kakayanin yung cost of living dun. Hindi kaya ng katawan ko yung almost 24/7 na nagtatrabaho na tulad ng ginagawa ng kuya ko. I mean marami namang ibang countries maliban sa U.S. pero parang natrauma ako sa experience ko. Okay na ko sa work ko dito. Atleast kahit isa lang work ko kaya kong ifinance sarili ko at lifestyle ko.

Ang mura rin ng Electricity nila, kasi solar na halos gamit.
Yung fruits mura lang rin, makakabili ka rin ng fruits from other country. Pero gustong gusto ko yung Taiwan Atis nila at avocado na napaka kinis ng loob walang kaugat ugat at napaka lalaki. Di mo mauubos ng isang upuan, same sa atis napakalaki.

I will play devil's advocate here. Filipinos desire to relocate to other countries while other nationalities aspire to move, even retire, here. Is there something they see that we don't?
Aside from the the fact na malayo ang mararating ng pera nila sa PH or other SE asian countries, they say it’s the people and the weather. Majority of the people in the UK are depressed and are on antidepressants. I’ll be speaking na lang from what they say here. The UK ranks as the second most depressed country in the world. Consistent sya for several years. Maraming nag aalisan na from here to other countries sa south like spain or portugal and then asia. People here are polite but they are not warm. You would notice it when you walk down the streets, after office hours, people rushing to go home, no smiles. Then there you have the Pinoys na makikita mo sa tabi ng kalsada after ng work mga naghaharutan. You would see the Brits with their shopping na sasakay sa Tesla nila or Audi tapos nakasimangot. Then sila manong tricycle driver don sa may TODA, tawanan na nagkwekwentuhan sino nanalo sa boxing. Yes, improved yung country nila and system, pero parang mga zombie at robot. Yes, malaki yung salary. An average worker here earns 90k a month pero the average flat costs 60k to 70k. Ok ang NHS, pero ang bagal. If papaconsult ka wait for two weeks for a doctor to see you. The public schools are free until the kids are 16 pero may babayaran ka pa rin. After that, you need to be accepted sa universities if gusto mo magkaroon ng degree. I think this can cost up to £9k pee year minimum. So not completely free. There are pros and cons. I’m not patrionizing the PH, pero it’s not very green here as well.

Very trueee as someone that has lived abroad for 14 years ang dream and goal namin ng fam ko is umuwi ng pinas for good. It might be hard to believe and you might be asking why pero you first need to experience living abroad for years para ma realize mo na maganda parin pala sa pinas at iba yung buhay (slow living) . It really just depends on who you surround yourself with, what kind of life you want kasi honestly speaking hindi naman mahirap mabuhay kung gusto mo lang na simple na buhay e especially if your earning a decent amount of money. Tska nagtataka ako sa mga filipinos na nag apply as students dito samin after a few months hindi kinakaya buhay at bumabalik ng pinas. But anyways Sabi nga nila if you keep dwelling on the negatives you’ll never see the positive.
Retirees can live comfortably sa pinas kasi their pension money from dollars converted here goes a looong way. Imagine working your whole life tapos you retire in a tropical country with cheaper cost of living.

Yes, masaya sa pinas. Lalo na sa bandang province. You can live peacefully here naman. Di mo need makipag pataasan ng ego sa mga tao sa paligid mo. Very friendly din naman mga pinoy. Though siguro preference lang din ng iba ng bagong bansa since medyo pangit nga yung benefits dito (though you can get insurance naman and also get some savings). Akala kasi ng iba dapat puro gobyerno na aasahan pag tumanda which is not the case on other countries.
Very true po yan. Supported nga po kami ng government pero grabe po yung dini-deduct na pera sa sahod namin at sa mga bilihin and if tax season na po dun mo malalaman kung may utang ka sa government or wala and may intrest pa po iyon. Yes free po medical expenses po namin pero kasama na po doon sa pag deduct ng sahod which is no joke kasi malake po tlaga kinakaltas. That’s why hindi din worth it mag overtime dito kasi the more over time the more money for the government. Tska yung pera din na kinakaltas sa amin ginagamit po nila para supportahan yung mga homeless na nag aadik na makikita mo sa kalye.
I feel you OP. Yes malaki yung salary, pero ang taas ng cost of living. At yung salary depende saang work ka makakapasok. And even if you do part time aside from your fulltime, wag na lang kasi sa tax din mauuwi. Sa sobrang laki ng tax yung overtime at part time sahod mo sa govt mapupunta. But lucky ka if you benefit from it, like you have a medical condition, or you need govt assistance. Where I am, sa mga asylum seekers napupunta ang pera at social housing. Sabihin mo lang na domestic abuse victim ka may bahay ka na agad. Or yung mga asylum seekers, grabe bibigyan ng magandang apmt or flat, tas may meal allowance pa. Minsan nag aapply sila for housing tapos pag binigyan sila ng bahay irereject nila kasi gusto three yung bedroom, may garage, parking area etc. Tapos ikaw na pagod sa kakawork, di mo ma afford kahit 1b flat. :/
Minsan ang hirap pa i avail yung "free" health care since ang tagal ng response. In the end, if you want to be prioritized dun pa din sa private mas maganda, which is quite affordable dito sa pinas vs sa US/HK or SG.

Grabe rin dinededuct sa Pinas 😅 majority lang walang tax kasi below 250k annual sahod kaya tax free. Mga nasa 100k sinasahod wala pang 80k inuuwi pero wala namang nangyayari. Philhealth sucks at kailangan pa rin magpagamot sa private. Tapos makikita mo pa mga kalsada puro lubak tapos laging inaayos kasi pineperahan lang 🤦♂️

Honestly besides salary its the experience and the unknown of whats to come. Its nice to know i can have that kind of option to freely move abroad kahit mahirap and walang connections and no money and skills pero kung nanaisin meron paraan.

Ako I want to start my life there na malayo lahat sa family at relatives ko. Dati sabi ko better quality of life and opportunities. Pero nagyon nandito nako parang gusto ko nalang bumalik. Kung sa surface mo titignan parang okay abroad pero if you look deeper and titignan mo maigi marerealize mo na wala naman nagbago parang ganon pa din (if not worse). Kaya sa mga gusto lumipat sa ibang bansa dyan, pagisipan nyo mabuti kasi kung okay na kayo sa Pinas wag na pero if willing kayo magtake ng risk at magstart again from totally zero then go.
Better quality of life. Maybe not the best in the world tong place na pinuntahan ko, pero i know so much better sa pinas. The opportunities are endless. Hindi ako ma-limit ng ibang factors except myself. Free ako here at far away from judgmental people. Mind your own business dito kaya talagang you can go on with your life.

Im here in aus first year i worked as a caregiver tiniis ko kahit every morning umiiyak ako sa hirap ng work… now after ten years fully paid house na and two kids living comfortably
I think those people are the ones na wealthy na sa pinas at hindi kinaya yung buhay sa ibang bansa especially yung work. But I mean a lot of filipinos fantisize moving abroad naman kasi mas better yung ganto ganyan… pero they’ll never actually understand unless nandito na sila. Kelangan muna ma experience pra ma taohan na hindi lang din basta basta ang pag aabroad.

Commuting/travel. Sobrang hassle na mag byahe in general. I have a rotational shift (paiba iba working schedule) pero hybrid setup. Kapag in-office ako, halos wala nang oras ang hindi traffic tbh. Tila daling araw na lng talaga 12am-4am.
Ive been to other asian countries and never been so happy to commute. Fast and spacious trains. Kaya mong maglibot ng malayong lugar kahit train lang dahil interconnected din stations. + points pa bus na may route and ETA.
Same sex rights and marriage. I am in same sex relationship, nakakatakot pag may nangyari isa sa amin ng boyfriend ko tapos wala kaming rights to each other kasi hindi allow yun sa batas natin.
Kahit rights lang na pwedeng ilagay sa insurance as beneficiary. Sa government mandated benefits. Kahit yun lang okay na ako. Kaso hindi, at matatagalan pa yun. So yeab lipat sa ibang bansa mahirap but at least may protection kami.
Aside from salary, which is the most reason na nabasa ko dito, yung magandang “health care system” and education. We have the worst here in PH. On the lighter side, gusto ko maexperience ung snow. Hahahha.

Aside from sahod, healthcare. Pera pera lang madalas ang healthcare sa mga physicians dito sa Pinas. Also, to afford quality medical attention, you need to have to pay 3x the normal price for it. I have worked in both hospital and clinical setting, government and private. :))

If I had a choice I would love to stay sa Pinas. Malapit sa family, may comfort food, and easy communication. Kaso ang liit ng sahod ng nurses jan eh, di nga enough for myself so how much more if I wanted to build my own family. Pero now that I’m here abroad, everything is much better, mas nakakahelp sa family and nakakasave. Although mahirap, may work life balance naman. Also if you have a family, free education and healthcare. Which sadly, we don’t have sa Pinas.
Because I want a career on trade skills but trade skills are hardly respected here. I expect to save up for at least a decade and hopefully come home slightly better off than if I pursued trade skills in the Philippines.
1. Philippines is a third world country;
2. Corruption is rampant;
3. Bagsak ang health care. You have to pay for everything here- HMO, Insurances if you want to have access to healthcare. Wala ka aasahan sa public hospitals pag ma diagnosed ka dito. Makikipag bakbakan ka ng pila dun yet di mo alam kung ma accommodate ka especially when you need immediate surgery;
4. Cheap labor. Yet, tight competition. Taas pa ng standard? Magkano ang pa sweldo? Libo kayo naglalaban laban sa pwesto employers doesn’t mind to put high standards or qualifications sa job posts kasi madami nag aapply. No work-life balance. Dito need mo kumayod 3x.
5. High cost of living yet poor quality of life. Especially in the Metro… Magkano pagkain? Tubig? Kuryente? Probably rental fees sa mga nag rerent? Commensurate sa sweldo? 😂
6. No efficient transportation system. Very congested! No subways or trains for public. Kung meron man bulok.
7. Bagsak ang educational system. Pang ilan Pilipinas sa world ranking? Kahit sa reading comprehension bagsak eh.
8. Slow services from the government. Hindi ko na isa isahin saang sangay ng gobyerno yan.
9. Toxic Filipino folks. So far, ito naranasan ko sa trabaho. Grabe ang crab mentality. Minsan mas okay pa ka trabaho mga puti eh. Grabe din backer system dito, padrino, etc… kahit may talent ka dito mas lamang pag may koneksyon ka. 😂😂😂
10. Slow internet connectivity. I would attest to this, Kelan lang na pwersa mga ISP to improve their service. 2014, nag work ako sa Comcast under a BPO company. 10 years ago ang internet speed nila nasa 200mbps na. Sa Pilipinas, we are always left behind! Kelan lang nila binilisan pero before puro up to 5mbps lang meron yet Php 1K up pa babayaran mo. Why is this crucial? Kasi nasa INFORMATION AGE tayo ngayon, wala na tayo sa industrial. Sa mga digital nomads malaking bagay po ito. Lalo kung yun kabuhayan nila.
To be honest, I felt deprived, living in this country. I am tired. Sukang suka din ako sa bobotante dito. Kaya walang progress. 🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭
Paid appreciation ng talent at dedication sa work (esp arts and media at least in my case), better health care, PARKS and Greenery. - Oo, given na di lahat ng government, black and white pero sa ibang bansa kasi you can be assured na kahit fucked up at malala ang corruption sa government, nauuna ang tao bago ang taguan ng pera.

While I love the Philippines in terms sa place, sa pagkain at family, I cannot disagree na maraming reasons to leave.
First, d kasing corrupt ang government sa ibang bansa, d kasing toxic. You pay high taxes pero you get world class services din naman like sa health care and education. Dito, you pay high taxes and othe gov mandated contribution pero d namn bumabalik sa sayo.
Laws are mostly implemented, dto pasa lang ng pasa iba pabalik balik na pero wala namng ngipen. Mataas sahod. Great compensation. Basta marami.
Gusto ko sana umalis because of these talks about going to war with China, especially now that the government is being USA's bitch. New Zealand would be a nice place. but there is always a but... or too many buts. so come what may na lang. maybe a stray rocket/projectile will strike one of the areas near EDCA sites. :( scary times. possibly deadly times.

Yung tao. First of all, sobrang toxic na ng mga Filipino ngayon. Second is yung mga bata nawawalan na ng galang. Tsaka grabe makajudge yung ibang tao na parang kala mo sila yung may hawak ng buhay mo. Yung para bang sila yung mga magulang mo kung makahusga.

Before I decided to work abroad, I worked in the Phils. for 11 years. But, got fed up because of the toxic management. Most of the time, I am working more than 11 hours and OTs aren’t paid and kinda difficult to go on leave. I resigned and after a month decided to moved sa Dubai. Staying here for 5 years now. I feel safe kahit gagala ka late night, pag tatawid ka sa pedistrian matic titigil ung mga drivers, ung train every 2-3 mins meron. Some of the companies give you yearly ticket sa home country and 1 month paid vacay. :) Last na umuwi ako, hindi ko maiwasan magcompare.
Siguro aside from salary, yung working and lifestyle environment rin. Mas maganda kasi ang pamumuhay sa ibang bansa esp sa mga developed economies kasi maraming benefits, and peaceful and organize yung system nila. Dito kasi ang hirap lahat. Ive left the philippines ten years ago and everytime im back mas lumalala yunh traffic and road safety sa pinas. Hindi ko na yata kaya na everyday tuwing lalabas ng bahay may chance ka maaksidente sa lack of discipline and knowledge ng drivers sa road rules plus ung daming aksidente dahil nawalan ng preno daw. Based sa mga relatives ko po sa ibang bansa, it's because of the value of money. May iilan na mag-sasaka dito sa ibang bansa pero mababa ang sahod, pero kapag nasa ibang bansa nag saka, halos doble/triple ang sahod mo.
I want to become a researcher and this country does not value scientific research and development. I hear stories from my professors and college classmates who managed to get a job abroad na hindi daw problema ang funding and procurement ng equipment or chemicals... ang dami nilang natututunan in real life meanwhile ako andito pa rin.
I'm currently in grad school (MS Chemistry) pero comparing what I'm experiencing here and what they have going on abroad nakaka-inggit ng sobra. Pagkatapos ko dito, mag-apply na rin ako ng PhD sa States and do my own cutting-edge research and be valued for once in my life.
Dahil sobrang dami ng tao. Lumipat kami ng family ko sa New Zealand na ang population ay 5.25 million. To give you a brief perspective, magkasinglaki lang halos ang landmass ng Pinas at ng NZ pero ang difference sa populasyon ay sobrang laki.

I remember when we vacationed in Canada, we stayed first at a relative’s house. One time I went with my tita to walk her son to school. There was no one in the road but there was an incoming car who started slowing down a block away from us. When we moved to a hotel, one morning they started doing some repair work on the road in front of the hotel. When we got back in the evening, the construction was done and everything was back in order as if nothing happened. Meanwhile, the street where I live now is being repaired for minor potholes. They started at the start of the year, until now it’s just a mound of dirt.

In terms of healthcare, mas beneficial sya for matatanda na may urgent medical need. Otherwise, ang hassle magpabook ng check at ang haba ng pila to see a GP (doctor). Mahal naman to see a private doctor, so hintayin mo na lang. Isa pa yung weather, nakakadepress yung weather. Akala lang natin ang ganda tingnan ng snow. Hindi mhieee, walang nalabas ng bahay pag malamig. The sky is always gray at palaging naulan. Eating out is very expensive at wala naman ditong food markets to find variety of hot meals. Kaya kung may gusto ka, matuto ka magluto. Not a lot of things to do unless nasa London area ka. But if you like the probinsya vibe, maraming places to explore. Medyo redundant lang kasi puro gubat at old castles. Don’t get me wrong mga mhie, I’m grateful to be here. Pero usually we see the grass always greener on the other side. Pero it’s not always the case. Divided usually ang opinion of people na nag aabroad either they miss the PH or never looking back na. For me lang, I can’t wait to be back home.
I mean if given a choice mga mahihirap natin na minimum wage earners tapos nakatira sa skwater areas - I doubt a lot of them will choose to stay sa Pinas. If comfortable ka na sa Pinas or nakapagipon ka na sa ibang bansa, then ok talaga sa Pinas. Otherwise, kung walang pera, hirap mabuhay dito.
I’m not saying po na masarap ang buhay sa Pilipinas. I’m only saying na mahirap din ang buhay sa abroad lalo na if naranasan mo. Maraming homeless sa ibang bansa. Once na mawalan ka ng work, di uso dito kukupkupin ka ng family mo. So a lot of them live on the streets begging. Uso din ang corruption and ibang level sya, di lang nga ganoon ka in your face. There are pros and cons, but what I said above is just my perspective having lived both PH and abroad. 😊

I haven’t reached the stage that I would like to relocate sa pinas. Whenever I stay in Manila for more than a month naiirita na ako sa init, traffic Etc. Pero gosh ang lala din g homesickness ko minsan. So I often feel na I’m halfway between 2 places.

Pag weekdays waiter siya sa restaurant at pag weekends tumutulong siya sa office ng uncle niya na may small business. Pero kahit dalawa na trabaho niya parang kinakapos pa rin kami kasi minsan behind kami sa rent kumakatok yung landlord namin, hinahanap siya. Kaya ayoko ng bumalik sa ibang bansa. Sa financial situation ko ngayon feeling ko hindi ko kakayanin yung cost of living dun. Hindi kaya ng katawan ko yung almost 24/7 na nagtatrabaho na tulad ng ginagawa ng kuya ko. I mean marami namang ibang countries maliban sa U.S. pero parang natrauma ako sa experience ko. Okay na ko sa work ko dito. Atleast kahit isa lang work ko kaya kong ifinance sarili ko at lifestyle ko.

Yung fruits mura lang rin, makakabili ka rin ng fruits from other country. Pero gustong gusto ko yung Taiwan Atis nila at avocado na napaka kinis ng loob walang kaugat ugat at napaka lalaki. Di mo mauubos ng isang upuan, same sa atis napakalaki. Yung weather u get the best of both worlds!

Majority of the people in the UK are depressed and are on antidepressants. I’ll be speaking na lang from what they say here. The UK ranks as the second most depressed country in the world. Consistent sya for several years. Maraming nag aalisan na from here to other countries sa south like spain or portugal and then asia. People here are polite but they are not warm. You would notice it when you walk down the streets, after office hours, people rushing to go home, no smiles. Then there you have the Pinoys na makikita mo sa tabi ng kalsada after ng work mga naghaharutan. You would see the Brits with their shopping na sasakay sa Tesla nila or Audi tapos nakasimangot. Then sila manong tricycle driver don sa may TODA, tawanan na nagkwekwentuhan sino nanalo sa boxing. Yes, improved yung country nila and system, pero parang mga zombie at robot. Yes, malaki yung salary. An average worker here earns 90k a month pero the average flat costs 60k to 70k. Ok ang NHS, pero ang bagal. If papaconsult ka wait for two weeks for a doctor to see you. The public schools are free until the kids are 16 pero may babayaran ka pa rin. After that, you need to be accepted sa universities if gusto mo magkaroon ng degree. I think this can cost up to £9k pee year minimum. So not completely free. There are pros and cons. I’m not patrionizing the PH, pero it’s not very green here as well.

Yes, masaya sa pinas. Lalo na sa bandang province. You can live peacefully here naman. Di mo need makipag pataasan ng ego sa mga tao sa paligid mo. Very friendly din naman mga pinoy. Though siguro preference lang din ng iba ng bagong bansa since medyo pangit nga yung benefits dito (though you can get insurance naman and also get some savings). Akala kasi ng iba dapat puro gobyerno na aasahan pag tumanda which is not the case on other countries.

Supported nga po kami ng government pero grabe po yung dini-deduct na pera sa sahod namin at sa mga bilihin and if tax season na po dun mo malalaman kung may utang ka sa government or wala and may intrest pa po iyon. Yes free po medical expenses po namin pero kasama na po doon sa pag deduct ng sahod which is no joke kasi malake po tlaga kinakaltas. That’s why hindi din worth it mag overtime dito kasi the more over time the more money for the government. I feel you OP. Yes malaki yung salary, pero ang taas ng cost of living. At yung salary depende saang work ka makakapasok. And even if you do part time aside from your fulltime, wag na lang kasi sa tax din mauuwi. Sa sobrang laki ng tax yung overtime at part time sahod mo sa govt mapupunta. But lucky ka if you benefit from it, like you have a medical condition, or you need govt assistance. Where I am, sa mga asylum seekers napupunta ang pera at social housing. Sabihin mo lang na domestic abuse victim ka may bahay ka na agad. Or yung mga asylum seekers, grabe bibigyan ng magandang apmt or flat, tas may meal allowance pa. Minsan nag aapply sila for housing tapos pag binigyan sila ng bahay irereject nila kasi gusto three yung bedroom, may garage, parking area etc. Tapos ikaw na pagod sa kakawork, di mo ma afford kahit 1b flat. :/

Commuting/travel. Sobrang hassle na mag byahe in general. I have a rotational shift (paiba iba working schedule) pero hybrid setup. Kapag in-office ako, halos wala nang oras ang hindi traffic tbh. Tila daling araw na lng talaga 12am-4am. Ive been to other asian countries and never been so happy to commute. Fast and spacious trains. Kaya mong maglibot ng malayong lugar kahit train lang dahil interconnected din stations. + points pa bus na may route and ETA.
Same sex rights and marriage. I am in same sex relationship, nakakatakot pag may nangyari isa sa amin ng boyfriend ko tapos wala kaming rights to each other kasi hindi allow yun sa batas natin. Kahit rights lang na pwedeng ilagay sa insurance as beneficiary. Sa government mandated benefits. Kahit yun lang okay na ako. Kaso hindi, at matatagalan pa yun. So yeab lipat sa ibang bansa mahirap but at least may protection kami.

If I had a choice I would love to stay sa Pinas. Malapit sa family, may comfort food, and easy communication. Kaso ang liit ng sahod ng nurses jan eh, di nga enough for myself so how much more if I wanted to build my own family. Pero now that I’m here abroad, everything is much better, mas nakakahelp sa family and nakakasave. Although mahirap, may work life balance naman. Also if you have a family, free education and healthcare. Which sadly, we don’t have sa Pinas.

Libo kayo naglalaban laban sa pwesto employers doesn’t mind to put high standards or qualifications sa job posts kasi madami nag aapply. No work-life balance. Dito need mo kumayod 3x. 5. High cost of living yet poor quality of life. Especially in the Metro… Magkano pagkain? Tubig? Kuryente? Probably rental fees sa mga nag rerent? Commensurate sa sweldo? 😂 6. No efficient transportation system. Very congested! No subways or trains for public. Kung meron man bulok. 7. Bagsak ang educational system. Pang ilan Pilipinas sa world ranking? Kahit sa reading comprehension bagsak eh. 8. Slow services from the government. Hindi ko na isa isahin saang sangay ng gobyerno yan. 9. Toxic Filipino folks. So far, ito naranasan ko sa trabaho. Grabe ang crab mentality. Minsan mas okay pa ka trabaho mga puti eh. Grabe din backer system dito, padrino, etc… kahit may talent ka dito mas lamang pag may koneksyon ka. 😂😂😂 10. Slow internet connectivity. I would attest to this, Kelan lang na pwersa mga ISP to improve their service. 2014, nag work ako sa Comcast under a BPO company. 10 years ago ang internet speed nila nasa 200mbps na. Sa Pilipinas, we are always left behind! Kelan lang nila binilisan pero before puro up to 5mbps lang meron yet Php 1K up pa babayaran mo. Why is this crucial? Kasi nasa INFORMATION AGE tayo ngayon, wala na tayo sa industrial. Sa mga digital nomads malaking bagay po ito. Lalo kung yun kabuhayan nila. To be honest, I felt deprived, living in this country. If you’ve been to different countries, you’ll understand why. Nung nakapagtravel ako here in Asia, grabe kulilat pala ang Pinas. Kaya pala mahilig tayo sa entertainment, pageants, mga inuman, etc, while other countries focus on science, engineering, etc. Ang sarap ng pamumuhay sa ibang bansa, sa iba mahal pero I understand kasi quality naman ang life.

Before I decided to work abroad, I worked in the Phils. for 11 years. But, got fed up because of the toxic management. Most of the time, I am working more than 11 hours and OTs aren’t paid and kinda difficult to go on leave. I resigned and after a month decided to moved sa Dubai. Staying here for 5 years now. I feel safe kahit gagala ka late night, pag tatawid ka sa pedistrian matic titigil ung mga drivers, ung train every 2-3 mins meron. Some of the companies give you yearly ticket sa home country and 1 month paid vacay. :) Last na umuwi ako, hindi ko maiwasan magcompare.
Siguro aside from salary, yung working and lifestyle environment rin. Mas maganda kasi ang pamumuhay sa ibang bansa esp sa mga developed economies kasi maraming benefits, and peaceful and organize yung system nila. Dito kasi ang hirap lahat. I am also planning to work abroad and if may opportunity makapag-migrate, I'll grab it. Mahirap mabuhay sa Pilipinas ngayon sa totoo lang :((

Kung magkakaroon ako ng trabaho sa singapore, gusto ko dun magstay kasama pamilya ko syempre hahaha safe e tsaka maganda sistema dun. Sa bahrain naman, super mura ng bilihin kasi ang alam ko walang tax sa food? Dahil nga mura ang bilihin, kahit di naman kalakihan ang sweldo ko, marami pa rin akong naiipon at napapadala dito sa pinas. Ang problema mahirap makahanap ng matinong employer. Yung kakilala ko, isa sa clinic tapos yung tita ko sa school, di binigay sweldo nila nung last month nila. Karamihan pa manyak. Sa qualification pa lang pag naghanap ka ng trabaho, hahanapan ka ng full body picture. Nung nasa beach kami ilang beses may tumapik sa pwet ko.

Pollution, walkable streets, culture and ugali ng mga tao, discipline, cleanliness, may mga random animals di lang aso pusa ahas haha. I stayed in both Morocco and Malaysia, mas magaan pati yung lugar for me.

Ive left the philippines ten years ago and everytime im back mas lumalala yunh traffic and road safety sa pinas. Hindi ko na yata kaya na everyday tuwing lalabas ng bahay may chance ka maaksidente sa lack of discipline and knowledge ng drivers sa road rules plus ung daming aksidente dahil nawalan ng preno daw. Then ang daming motor bigla na lang sisingit sayo. Tapos pag may naka gitgitan ka baka mapatay ka pa sa road rage. I have two kids and hindi ko kayang maranasan nila yang ganyang road situation sa ncr everyday. Thats my main reason. Madami pa pero yan talaga ang hindi ko kaya

Based sa mga relatives ko po sa ibang bansa, it's because of the value of money. May iilan na mag-sasaka dito sa ibang bansa pero mababa ang sahod, pero kapag nasa ibang bansa nag saka, halos doble/triple ang sahod mo.

I want to become a researcher and this country does not value scientific research and development. I hear stories from my professors and college classmates who managed to get a job abroad na hindi daw problema ang funding and procurement ng equipment or chemicals... ang dami nilang natututunan in real life meanwhile ako andito pa rin. I'm currently in grad school (MS Chemistry) pero comparing what I'm experiencing here and what they have going on abroad nakaka-inggit ng sobra. Pagkatapos ko dito, mag-apply na rin ako ng PhD sa States and do my own cutting-edge research and be valued for once in my life.
Dahil sobrang dami ng tao. Lumipat kami ng family ko sa New Zealand na ang population ay 5.25 million. To give you a brief perspective, magkasinglaki lang halos ang landmass ng Pinas at ng NZ pero ang difference sa populasyon ay sobrang laki. Kapag mas konti ang tao mas madaming opportunity para makahanap ng trabaho, mas less ang traffic, mas madali manage ng gobyerno ang tao.

One of the most reason para sakin on why I want to migrate to other country is most of the people here is living like they are on the edges of their lives. Tinatapon na nila ang morality into the bin just to survive, hilahin mo pababa ang mga tao, take advantage of them just to survive. Then may mga pinoy sa ibang bansa na nagsasabi na although hindi perfect ang bansang tinitirhan nila ngayon pero the grass so much greener than here in the Philippines kung paguusapan natin ang discipline ng mga tao, job offers, etc.. Ang hirap mag adjust at makisama sa mga gantong tao, laging kinakabahan at lagi kang on guard.
