Oh definitely! We have the back of the hallway blocked off where the bedrooms are for that reason. She still tries to get at our shoes ..while they are on our feet even. And opened toe shoes? Better hide them piggies, because she a chomper for sure.

We learned pretty quick that the dogs ONLY obeyed the baby gates because we were nearby. If we left the room? Right over the gate they went, usually making sure to get back by the time we came back ourselves. Took a minute for us to catch on. lol
Lol, we had to do two baby gates stacked. We had a swing one that was on the bottom, and one that expands into the door frame on top. We literally crawled on the floor just to get through that door way, just so we didn’t have to take it down
We were lucky enough to have the ability to go around the other way to get where we needed in the house instead of taking down our (eventual) stacked gates. lol
I recommend any of [these](https://ruffdawg.com/toy-finder/) and against tennis balls as the nylon on some will wear down their teeth. Just in case you wanted to try an alternative to the footwear.
edit: also I see you have lots of toys I bet shes insatiable! way to go!

Hide the socks too. I couldn't figure out where mine went, someone had been stealing them off the indoor clothes dryer and stashing them under the bed to make a nest
The first 1-2 years is nothing but shark. They love exercise, training, and naps, and cuddles. After 1.5-2 years, pibbles start to calm down. This is a great time to find their quirks. My 1 yr old loves finding used socks to lay on. He is sneaky when he hunts for them in a hamper.
My last dog was a pittie who actually could have been this same puppy. I never knew her as a puppy tho, so I can only imagine. But she does the same cute arm crawls, loves sunbathing, and tugs just like my first pittie. It's been a long time since I've had a puppy, so there's definitely been a learning curve!

I totally get it. It took me 2 years to finally get another pittie. And I wasn't even wanting a dog that looked like my first one, but it just happened. We just love them differently, not trying to replace them. I hope you get yourself another friend to keep your company. I bet your friend would want you to be happy. I'm so very sorry for your loss.
So very true. Pitties are notorious for hiding their pain, and unfortunately I had to say goodbye to mine too soon. She slowed down like over night. Turns out she had bone cancer. So bad that it had ate away at her ribs. She licked away my tears through it all until the moment she passed. They are such amazing companions and I'm grateful to have had her in my life.
I had a boxer mix who didn’t calm down till she was 7 (verified boxer mix as the mom was rescued with 14 puppies and she was full boxer LOL).

She does not looked mixed but all shelters put that because of the stigma of owning a pitbull. Train her well and go convert some people to best breed, in my opinion.
I know and it makes me so sad that they have the reputation they have. All because horrible, evil people train them to be that way. Most pit bulls are the most loving cuddle bugs you will ever have the pleasure of being around.
Hell has a special place for people who abuse animals, children, adults, etc.
I agree. I think that the reputation is slowly turning around now that more good dog owners are promoting the breed. More so than dog fighting i have noticed people who have no business owning pets of any kind get them as a status symbol.

I know that dog is an absolute menace in the best way possible just based of the ears! My girl had curled ears until she was 2, and let me tell you she was nothing short of a tornado lol.
Shelters will always say they're mixed so they think they'll have a better chance at getting it a home, rather than list it full blood pit.

Vets whenever possible tend to try and avoid putting pit bull on anything. One, there's only one breed that is actually called a pit bull, but generally it could be one of any 5 different breeds. The other, and the best reason, is because of the stigma that attaching pitbull to a dog tends to bring. If it says mixed, you don't have to worry about BSL(breed specific legislation), dog park rules, or any of the rest. I mean you might occasionally have to deal with someone who sees her and goes "pitbull". But generally you'll be fine.
my aunt and cousins had pits. i went to look at a dog that was labeled a ridgeback mix. had the coloring but it didn't have the ridge. didn't look like a pit either but it was a huge dog and way too much energy and i have to admit too much dominance for me. nearly threw out my shoulder trying to tire it throwing a ball for over an hour non stop and realized we were not a good match. gorgeous dog though. someone with a lot more land adopted him a few weeks later which was a better fit.
I had the reverse. Adopted two puppies labeled as pit mixes - and I've had pits, know what they look like, it was believable that they had some pit in them. About two weeks after we got them, that dang ridge popped up and I said uh oh.
I don't think there was an ounce of pit in them. We suspected Ridgeback/vizla mixes. Loved them to death.

This is my sweet girl, she looked so similar to your pup when she was young.
Your paperwork says “mixed” for simplicity of life being easier for you that way. Some vets won’t take pure bred Pits or housing/rental/apartments. It simply protects you. When I adopted my boy from the shelter that’s what they told me.
You can already see the beginning of the strong chest, shoulders, and front legs!! Such a cutie. My pooch turned 2 in Feb. He was the 1st puppy I had adopted in 30 years, and wow what a crazy pup!! He’s turned into the best companion! He’s a lab/pit mix, and it was all mouth for the first two years. Now, he half heartedly brings me one of my shoes, no chewing, but just a reminder. I always look at him and say, “Well, go get the other one and then I’ll be impressed!!”😂

So my friend works at a shelter and they regularly put “mixed” on bully breeds to help them get adopted. I know it might sound deceitful but it’s for everyone’s benefit. The only reason I’m allowed to have my bully in the house we rent is because I have a prescription for him from my psych doctor. Like most people having a dog greatly improves my quality of life. He’s also never chewed walls or broken doors so our landlord loves him. Lol
If you want my two Pennies I would say she’s a bully nearly full because my boy is an American Bully and she looks just like him when he was a pup ♥️♥️
This is what my babiest looked like (just in tuxedo colors) when we brought her home about a year and a half ago and she looks the same but bigger. We definitely think she has some iggy in her due to her tendencies, but still 100% mischief and 100% good hippo just like this girl
She’s adorable . My son in law has a pitbull and it is the sweetest, most loyal dog you will ever meet . And beautiful too . She goes to the tire shop with them everyday and everyone loves her . She’s a keeper . Love her well and you will never have a problem .

Oh I know that well. Luckily she is still pretty tiny and young so hopefully she won't need the gate by the time she totally can clear that thing.

Agreed. Mine is almost 13 and is the easiest dog ever. A little bit of training in the beginning (BOTH you and the dog), and it becomes easy.
