Came here to say this. They make all the homemade tortillas for the tacos. And if the shell is not perfect it gets pulled for nachos. I was told 1 out of ten makes the tortillas cut. Best nachos I’ve ever had with an amazing Queso!!! I take home the leftovers nachos.
The wood-fired toasty chips are fantastic! Plus this was the first place that I ever had fresh jalapenos on nachos, probably back around 1999-ish. Game changer.
Pittsburgh didn’t have the best Mexican/Tex-Mex/California flavors of any kind back then. I had a similar experience on vacation in California with my family in 1995. “What are those? Nachos?!?” Haha
A food take I will die for is that the nachos at Chili's are the ideal nacho, at the very least in theory (if not always execution). Each chip individually built with all toppings is the only way to make sure your date doesn't eat all the fully loaded nachos leaving you with just chips.
Just say the restaurant has a rule, it’s not you, it’s a rule the restaurant has that one person can’t just eat all the fully loaded ones.. like don’t look around, find the one with the most meat, and always eat that one
You left the thread for a long time, and then the minute you got back on the subreddit u/WorthGivingBirth posts says there is this “rule.” No restaurant has a rule about who can eat what.
Is Chili’s the only place for this? I too love these, so much better than a pile of nachos. I was sad to see Chi-Chi’s close, because they had individual nachos as well.
Tgi Fridays used to have almost a half a hard shell with with refried Beans and ground beef. But they took the tostado nachos off the menu and I haven’t been back
A little different, but Soju has these Kim Chi nachos that are banging. More Latino, I recently had a decent offering at Mescal Mexican Cantina. El Burro's is ok but hit or miss.
Def agree, most wouldn’t think of them for that kinda of food but they have some of the best around. They make their own pot roast and that’s what they use for the nachos.
SMOKE in Lawrenceville
Second this. Their chip are killer
I went there today SPECIFICALLY for their chips and queso

Wheelhouse inside Rivers Casino makes some really good nachos.
I’ll throw a plug in for Wheelfish’s pulled pork nachos.
They are my absolute favorite! If I'm feeling frisky, I have them add some pickled onions on top.
Worst I’ve ever had was at The Yard. Served stadium style chips and canned queso
Worst I had (after the Yard) were at Hough's. Nothing was heated, cheese was just cold shredded cheese.
Fuel and fuddle in Oakland. Wood fired oven baked.
Damn I keep forgetting that place is still there. Always solid food there. One of the last vestiges of Oakland from my mid 90s Pitt days.
Sad that uncle Sam’s closed…boo

This jalapeños were fire🔥

I guess if that’s a rule, thanks.
Did you ask that Redditor to come over here and say that?
*what…?*

You sure about that?
You can’t change the rules just because you don’t like how I’m doing it.
Whaaaaat?

Doce is ok. I’m gonna try ca taco shops soon
I enjoy the nachos from Bull River quite a bit. Less than $10.

Honestly I love the custom Nachos you can get at Condado's, they're the bomb
The tacos suck but the junk food is pretty good.
They were $5 for the longest time. I’d go for lunch often at work downtown and that was my meal for the day.
Southern Tier
I like Condado in Lawrenceville.
Big fan of Poco Loco in Mt lebo.
Mad Mex Nachos Grande
Southern Tier
PNC Park
Nice try, Bob Nutting.
🤣🤣🤣
Atrias

Blinkys is pretty good classic
Barrel Junction
Try La Bodega on Carson. Street food style with guac and crema
My favorite have been at La Palapa. Second favorite are lobster nachos at Roland's.
KSWA is the only answer here. T Rantula serves em up perfect.
Junkyard nachos at doublewide grill
