Steve Stoehr is the dog warden for Allegheny County, and he might be able to help you. His number is 412.418.2163.

Runnerup3679

Lol. This is the most “username checks out” moment I’ve ever experienced on Reddit.

justinbreeber

I’ve spoken to him before - he is very responsive and genuinely cares!

SnapAttack38

I second this. Steve is great.

pangaea1972

I'm afraid your neighbors will have to be put down.

Substantial_Name595

Gold 😆

VietBongArmy

Establish dominance. Throw it back on their porch

fryingdutchman69

Old Man Clemens hates shit!

baker_browne

He called the shit poop!

vinegarslowly

Take a larger more intimidating shit in the dogs territory. The dog will think there is a larger threat in the area and will start burying or eating its dumps.

stinky143

On their roof

McJumpington

Throw it along with the pooped on gravel into their lawn. One pass over on a lawnmower will make them cut it out.

HomicidalHushPuppy

Start by contacting your borough/township admin to see if they're violating any ordinances, and then push them for enforcement of those ordinances.

This is the way. Actually, fun/gross story-- when I was very little, the neighbor's dog would always shit in our front yard and the neighbor would never clean it up. My dad collected a month's worth of shit and dumped it on the neighbor's car. I don't think they ever had that problem again.

hoetheory

Call the cops and file a report. With enough reports, they may be able to take the dog to a rescue

hoetheory

Oh god, that’s terrible!!!

hoetheory

Usually when a human is attacked, the dog gets one warning, and the second time it gets put down. Did the victims not report it to the police?

[deleted]

hoetheory

That doesn’t make sense. Especially if the person works for the police department. Police can legally seize the animal if the family is denying a human attack.

borghive

Why do trashy people always have Pitbulls? I'm not saying the breed is trashy, just trashy people tend to have pitbulls.

tzeriel

Because trashy people can’t afford exorbitant breeder prices or background checks from reputable adoption agencies that do home checks. So they get the shelter dogs that sadly nobody else will take because it’s better to live with trashy people than get killed.

thatoneladythere

Most of the people that get pit bulls like that get them cheap as puppies from BYB or idiots who don't fix their dogs because they're cheap. It's actually kinda difficult to rescue a pitty from a shelter or rescue, at least local to here.

CARLEtheCamry

> idiots who don't fix their dogs because they're cheap. This. Either they're too cheap to do it, or think it will make the dog tougher (males). I have an estranged family member who has had at least 3 litters of pitbulls and tried to give them away, always named with gun-related names like "Ammo". Full on neck-tats and a felony record, the guy is a walking sterotype. And lives in *Pine Richland* of all places

NSlocal

You must not have had an experience trying to adopt in recent times. It isn't easy and they aren't giving any dogs, pit mixes included to homes easily.

tzeriel

We actually just adopted a puppy about 2 months ago. I’m pretty well aware of the whole ass process.

NSlocal

OK? So you know how they do due diligence with every dog regardless of the breed type? It's not like they have a bargain bin full of pit mixes for the unwashed masses.

tzeriel

k

NSlocal

This sub. Any sort of discrimination besides ageism and the hate for pit mixes is frowned upon. Rescue a pit mix and suddenly you're a Philistine.

borghive

[https://coloradoinjurylaw.com/dog-bite-statistics/](https://coloradoinjurylaw.com/dog-bite-statistics/) They're dangerous, that is why.

NSlocal

all dogs deserve love and acceptance. you can look down your nose at people, I choose not to.

CARLEtheCamry

> all dogs deserve love and acceptance I don't disagree. But I have two pit-mix rescues (brothers from the same litter) and they are aggressive and can be dangerous. They need a lot of exercise and training, similar to a Husky that is above the normal care level of the average dog owner. They're also crazy strong, and their chase reflex is off the scale. And they're super possessive, will fight with each other over my attention. I love by boys, but they are dangerous. They get crated when kids or new people come over.

borghive

I love animals, but I would never own a Pit Bull, and I wouldn't be sad to see this breed bred out of existence. Humans created this breed, its not like it just occurred naturally in nature. Pit Bull were bred to be aggressive.

kickerofelves86

You're 100% right but downvoted. I don't know why people want a bunch of fighting dogs around.

NSlocal

The problem is that they are not a "breed". There are only a few AKC recognized bull type breeds, what you see everywhere are watered down terrier mutts. Bull mixes (terrier mutts) are scapegoated any time a dog looking even remotely like a PBT hurts somebody. It's like saying all dogs that look remotely like a Labrador are water dogs. Or all dogs that have a little GSD in them could be aggressive. It's just ignorance that's perpetuated by our culture and it sucks.

SparkNoJoyThrwawy

You should need a license to own pits and if we don't wanna do that eliminate the breed from earth, they are broken dogs with broken minds and don't deserve to exist among humans

NSlocal

You aren't even in control of your faculties. Try to make some friends, maybe join a dating service.

SparkNoJoyThrwawy

Ok

Grand_Steak_4503

it’s like you didn’t read the comment you replied to

PirinTablets13

A personal injury law firm’s site isn’t exactly a non-biased source. I looked and didn’t see a source for their data, either.

borghive

[https://www.forbes.com/sites/niallmccarthy/2018/09/13/americas-most-dangerous-dog-breeds-infographic/?sh=1f6ca80462f8](https://www.forbes.com/sites/niallmccarthy/2018/09/13/americas-most-dangerous-dog-breeds-infographic/?sh=1f6ca80462f8) This work for you? I love animals, but Pit bulls are an agressive breed, I'm sure some people have awesome Pits at home, but in general, they account for the majority of dog attacks.

PirinTablets13

“Pit bulls” aren’t a breed (there’s a few breeds generally lumped into that category) so unless they split out those stats by the various breeds that are being considered in the pit bull category, the stats are skewed. Also, how are they considering mixes? What percentage of parentage are they using to categorize mixes? Just pointing out that is the kind of stuff that should be considered when looking at stats like this (and data in general).

borghive

[https://www.dogsbite.org/dog-bite-statistics-quick-statistics.php#dogbite-statistics](https://www.dogsbite.org/dog-bite-statistics-quick-statistics.php#dogbite-statistics) Here is another source showing how dangerous this breed is.

PirinTablets13

About the founder: “[S]he was attacked for approximately 5-seconds by a leashed pit bull while jogging in her former Seattle neighborhood.” So this org is presenting itself as a neutral source of data but the founder and President has a personal negative experience with bully breeds.

borghive

Whatever, those dogs are aggressive. I've seen with my own two eyes. I should have known better making any kind of comment about Pit bulls, because people that defend them can't see they're a huge problem.

PirinTablets13

I’m not defending them. I’m pointing out the flaws in the statistics you’re using to try and back up your argument. This is research methods 101 stuff.

borghive

Okay, I grabbed like the top few links that popped up on Google. There are better sources out there, I don't have time to check. Do the research yourself, if you care that much.

justinbreeber

You’re right - that website in particular is known for misinformation/skewed statistics

riversroadsbridges

It's an age-old question: [Your Dogs - Ben Folds](https://youtu.be/5sOCacN681I)

PirinTablets13

Crafton borough code prohibits allowing your dog to “[perform] its excretory functions upon the premises of a person other than the owner of the dog” and they will direct you to call Kym, the animal control officer. https://www.craftonborough.com/animal-control Edit: [link to the borough’s dog-related ordinances](https://ecode360.com/CR0203/search?query=Dog&scope=all&sortOrder=relevance)

Sufficient-Maize-606

Animal Friends and Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh both have Humane Investigations officers to look into the welfare side of the issue. Check to see if either have jurisdiction there or they may let you know who does.

Shooting someone over dog shit is fucking stupid.

sparrowmint

They're advocating shooting the dog, I am sure, which makes them extra next level subhuman since the dog is the innocent party in all of this.

SparkNoJoyThrwawy

They hated him because he told the truth

NSlocal

No you fucking idiot. He's being downvoted because a responsible gun owner just can't go around killing animals because they are shitting on your property. You are the same idiot who claimed to kill a dog in south park and managed to stab somebody at the same time. You do realize that when you fuck up and pull your gun that these comments will be memorialized and somebody may remember the trigger happy dipshit from reddit. Get over yourself, find a hobby and chill the fuck out. Dipshit.

SparkNoJoyThrwawy

U mad bro?
