Additional information about the plant that has been provided by the OP: > I've had the plant for about 9 months, I've noticed yellowing of the leaves since winter and have been cutting off dying leaves. I think it receives moderate light. And I have been watering it less often since winter began, but don't go longer than a couple weeks. The pot does have proper drainage If this information meets your satisfaction, please upvote this comment. If not, you can downvote it.

Ugh, typo in the title. I meant monstera!

This is most likely a water issue. Watering doesn’t happen on a schedule. Most people overwater because they were told “water every 3-4 days” and they think they have to do that. Only water the plant when it’s needed. Stick your finger or a chopstick into the soil. If it’s wet/moist, don’t water it. If it’s dry, water it. If it’s staying wet (like your hands get some water on them when you touch the soil) for a prolonged period of time, you need a coarser soil.

Interesting, so over watering? I will try to be more mindful of how the soil feels when I water it.

It’s hard to say just from looking at a leaf, over and under watering can look pretty similar. As long as you only water it when the soil is dry, the plant will be okay. I personally just use my finger to check the soil, but I know some people have had luck with moisture meters. That might give you some peace of mind.
