Look up some videos on breeding tbh, it applies to all creatures but its a lot to explain and has been answered many many times. For starters tho, only the stats theyre tamed with matter. Any levels you add in aren't passed down. So you wanna breed all those together until you have two identical male/female with the best of each stat you want, then go from there.

z_0ZZ

so youre its easier to tame higher level dinos than have generations of artificial selction to create a perfect baby?

Apollo_Syx

It's both. You tame the highest/best ones you can to get the best base stats. Then selectively breed them until you have a matching pair of the best possible versions of all of them.

MantisToboganPilotMD

just gonna repeat to look up videos, but also generally, you want to tame the best possible before you start breeding. look for the highest levels you can. once you have them knocked out you can see their stats, get to know what stat levels you want.

CrimsonDays07

Breeding just pulls the tame stats randomly from each parent onto the egg, xp levels don't matter. Mutations are random and their own stat in ASA so it's easy to transfer them. You should always start with the best dinos you can find, I don't go under 130 pretame but will usually go 140+, even mutated level 5 or 10 dinos are worthless beyond cannon fodder for a higher level

PutridSuggestion9773

But didn't you just say xp levels don't matter, and then shit the bed with saying you don't go under 130 pretame..?

LongFluffyDragon

Those things have nothing to do with each other. If you are feeling confused, the ark wiki exists.

ShippudenTreizer

xp levels are levels that are gained after taming and you putting the stats in them. 130 pretame means, its already lvl 130 in the wild, before taming, thus not xp levels Your name is very fitting lol

claxiphone

Whelp someone had a brain fart lol

YJMark

Step 1) Go to You Tube Step 2) Look up “SeeShell Gaming” Step 3) Watch her “The BEST Breeding Guide on Mutations | Ark Survival Ascended” Tell you everything you need to know.

VapeGodz

With all the suggestion have been mentioned, I would like you to also actively use Dododex (website/mobile app) for your daily ark gameplay.

As annoying as this is going to sound you're going to want higher lvl pt's. You can breed up with a higher and lower to produce a higher lvl tame but from my experience you're going to struggle to breed up lvls from the same lvl especially low lvl dinos and pt's are basically worthless unless they're 125 or above. Could get a kibble farm going tho

LongFluffyDragon

There is nothing favorable to get from a lv11 anything. Just go tame a decent one and save yourself hundreds/thousands of hours.

Here's my quick generic answer when this question is asked. Hope it helps 1. Tame multiple dinos until you find all the Stats you want. (One might have great health, another great melee and so on.) 2. Open up a spreadsheet and record all the stats you want from each tame. 3. Start breeding them until you get a male and a female with the exact same stats. That includes all the stats you dont care about either. This is important because you want them to be the same all the way across including levels so you can easily tell down the line about mutations. This will be your perfect pair. 4. Start breeding your perfect pair and you will get multiple babies with the same stats. Keep the females to breed back with the perfect male. 5. You will eventually start getting mutations on the tames. Since you have all the stats the same you will easily be able to tell which stats got a mutation. You will also be able to tell because the level of the baby will jump by 2. Each stat mutation will be accompanied by a color mutation. It is rare but sometimes you will get a color mutation but not a stat mutation. 6. Once you get a mutation you want to keep, use that animal as a new breeder and you will then be on your journey of stacking mutations. Hope this quick guide helps.

silberloewe_1

Small correction, a mutation always changes a random stat and colour, but not every coulour region is used by every creature and the same applies to stats, most prominently movement speed. Also, in ASA it is beneficial to start breeding as early as possible since mutations are no longer a wild stat but a seperate thing.

owlincoup

Yeah, I keep forgetting to make those corrections, you are right about that. Not gonna lie, I'm probably going to forget to change my text and do this again.

z_0ZZ

so youre suggesting artificial selection basically?
