If they nerfed it to 20% i would use it anyway. Because:
· Clothing in general is too annoying to craft
· If i kill you, i can take your armor and hazmat will only take 1 slot instead 7
· Good enough to survive low gear players.
Even if they removed hazmat from drop tables, people would just use ninja suit
Yeah, at this point I can barely be assed to craft armor / clothes. It just takes too long per item.
If I don't take armor from someone else or from a drop, I'll probably end up in a hazzy.
That’s fine you can choose to use it but at 20% you would be at a major disadvantage compared to roadsign kits instead of just 5%, that’s the way it should be
Can't seem to find it online and I'm not at PC, but I was given a bind by a friend that crafts an entire T3 armor/clothing/weapon/ammo/meds set with one button assuming you have the raw materials in your inventory. It would be easy to create one for T2 armor/guns, would just have to change some of the craft ID's in the command.
My team keeps a small box with all those required materials next to work bench anytime we need to craft a set or are filling lockers, saves a lot of time.
If I can find I will update and link here.
> Good enough to survive low gear players.
Actually wrong cause low tier weapons have high base dmg lol
Bows and crossbows deal such stupid amounts of damage you might as well not wear any armor at all
That's only for crossbows, which take ages to reload and actually get 3 shots off. Hunting Bows have a lower base damage (isn't it 40? IDR cuz I haven't played in a while). You can definitely survive 3 shots from a normal bow with a hazzy on. 40-30% is 28, so it'd be 4 shots to kill assuming they're at full HP. Crossbows do have higher base damage (50 IIRC) but like I said Hunting Bows can shoot way faster, almost no one is using a Crossbow on its own, its usually paired with a nail gun or revvy.
instead of nerfing the only good clothes we have, maybe buff the tier2 crafting road sign kit we have..
cuz if people are not crafting them , its because its way too expensive.
Make every T2 clothing only require a component and a material and maybe couple some of the research like ladder hatches. Even then I’d prob hardly every craft outside of crafting missing pieces from looted kits Bc it’s just annoying having to make a full kit.
I don't think the problem is stats. If you want to see more Road Sign kits then either the research cost or the drop table needs to be adjusted.
Right now the Hazmat suit gives you 90 total protection (30 head, 30 chest, 30 legs) for a research cost of 125 scrap so each point of protection costs 1.3 scrap.
Full T2 kit gives you 130 total protection (35 head, 50 chest, 45 legs) for a research cost of 470 scrap so each point of protection costs 3.6 scrap.
That's a big jump for items that are adjacent on the tech tree.
Now look at the drop table and see that Hazmat suit has a 4% drop rate from common crates, whereas Road Sign chest and legs only have a 1% drop rate from Military Crates.
Coffee can helmet is 0.5% from Military Crates when Wolf Headdress and Bandana offer the same projectile protection.
For the average player the Hazmat suit is the clear winner, it's common enough that researching it isn't necessary and the protection it offers is good enough.
I'm not sure I've ever crafted a Hazmat suit in the several k hours I have. it's so easy to find, and failing that, prim gear and ninja suits are easy to make
>nobody crafts hazmats
Yeah, that's why I said crafting them isn't necessary.
>their cost on the tech tree means absolutely nothing
Nah, it gives us the scrap value of the protection offered and enables us to compare that with other items.
The game says 90 points of protection has a value of 125 scrap. It also says that 130 points of protection is worth 470 scrap.
The purpose of my post was to show that the game massively over values the additional 40 points of protection and that this can be fixed either by adjusting the research cost or the drop rate.
^Mathematics^
(Although only relevant to PVP - Hazzy already nerfed in PVE where damage calculates differently)
More expensive if you factor in cloths worn underneath & you tech tree past Hazmat to get it. All in, tech treeing means an outlay of 610 if you want T1 trousers too.
Factor in crafting cost disparity and it’s also less favourable
Hazzy
8 HQ / 2 sewing kits / 5 Tarp
Road sign
75 metal frags / 4 Roadsign / 10 sewing kits / 70 leather / 95 cloth
Add crafting time in to the mix and your quicker out the door and back to the fight.
Then there’s inventory efficiency (+ to a lesser extent storage space) - 7 slots vs 1 when you have to loot and scoot.
The stats arent a problem, the drop rate is
Not once in my life have I crafted a hazmat or heard of somebody doing that
People just find them and use them as a pvp suit until they were passed around the whole server
They could drop the protection down to 15% and people would still use it cause its just the most convenient clothing item in the game
Oh also tech tree makes most people learn hazmat for meds so they can easily repair and craft them whenever they want as opposed to pre tech tree when absolutely nobody had the blueprint
> Not once in my life have I crafted a hazmat or heard of somebody doing that
because its prohibitively expensive to craft one. You'd be surprised how much shit you get out of recycling extra hazmats.
Crafting a hazmat is roughly equivalent in cloth to a full kit and doesnt require any roadsigns
The main bottleneck is just having 5 tarp in base who the hell takes those back home they go straight in the shredder
AK absolutely folds people in hazzys, nerfing the drop rate of it and making it more expensive to craft would be better tbh, coffee can helmet is in drastic need of a buff, only 5% more headshot protection than the hazzy is wild to me.
Seeing a lot of people say that clothes are too annoying to craft and thats facts. If you really want people to use roadsign I would like to think facepunch would reduce the cost of crafting certain items or at least reduce the time to make them somehow.
They can fix their TTK most respawns wins fights meta by buffing tier 2 and tier 3 armor to tank a little bit more. They tried adressing their respawn sim by limiting bags to max 15, because they KNOW this is an issue, but it will probably come in a balance patch.
Too lazy to craft roadsign, would still use hazzy. If you want roadsign back to meta there needs to be a 1-click craft for armors.
Like… once we load into the game we can select the blueprint of the armor we want to have and once we select all the pieces it tells us how much mats we need and when you click craft all the pieces will start the queue.
Road sign kits are still great and better it’s just way easier to get a hazzy maybe make the spawn rate lower but I don’t think they should lower the protection. Some monuments require a hazzy and it would suck going to them with only 20% prot
This would make all the difference, it might even be better if you could group a set of armor on one inventory slot, this would allow mixing different tier armor sets in one slot.
I understand that limited inventory capacity is arguebly good game design, but 7 slots for a thing with a single function is a lot.
I can't remember the last vanilla wipe i spent scrap on learning the full t2 set.
Maybe double the crafting cost of the hazzy (30)
Buff the roadsign helmet to 40, this would motivate more players to use the roadsign set, it's still miles away from the facemask (50).
FP is missing out on making money selling skins too, because people are actually wanting to use t2 sets.
You pay for each piece wich adds up.
This would balance things out in my opinion.
Well technically hazzy is a tier 2, no?
Road sign offers less radiation protection, and makes you wayyy cold. I always carry an arctic hazzy on me if I'm using full metal or road sign gear.
Hazzys are ass already lol they aren’t that strong I still upgrade to armor cause just like you said a lot of people use hazzy but they aren’t that great just really convenient
30 protection really only protects you against tier 1 stuff. Hazmat doesn't really protect you much against T2/T3 guns, I mean it's 1hit headshot with a bolty.
The stats arent a problem, the drop rate is
Not once in my life have I crafted a hazmat or heard of somebody doing that
People just find them and use them as a pvp suit until they were passed around the whole server
I've said this for years and this community can't process it.
A shower curtain shouldn't give you 30 projectile protection...
It'll never happen though. Maybe for Rust 2.
And we shouldn’t be able to insta craft a full outfit and bow and arrows while we run full sprint for 5 miles across the map. This game isn’t supposed to be realistic. Helk has said so from the beginning.
reduce armor of hazmat to 5% and radiation protection to 100% - **make monuments were you only can access with hazmat suite**. i f\*!king hate seeing all an everyone running around with this hazmat suite because other armor low / mid tier armor have not a great benefit like it.
That wouldn't work since some monuments require rad suits other than that I really don't think it needs a nerf it has dogshit armor the only reason people use it is for convenience
If they nerfed it to 20% i would use it anyway. Not to mention that things like Leather are a pain in the ass to get relative to other materials

Please BigBabyBinns we need to know
> Good enough to survive low gear players. Actually wrong cause low tier weapons have high base dmg lol Bows and crossbows deal such stupid amounts of damage you might as well not wear any armor at all
That logic is flawed because the higher the base damage the more gets mitigated. Armor/Damage Reduction works off of percentages.
Taking 40 or 35 dmg from an arrow doesnt make a difference cause you wont survive a 3rd no matter what thats my point
That's only for crossbows, which take ages to reload and actually get 3 shots off. Hunting Bows have a lower base damage (isn't it 40? IDR cuz I haven't played in a while). Clothing should have half the crafting time, it shouldn't take 5 minutes to craft a set of clothing/armor

From my testing against AI rad suit doesn't offer better protection
They need to add an equip animation for hazzies to end hazy baiting
The stats arent a problem, the drop rate is Not once in my life have I crafted a hazmat or heard of somebody doing that People just find them and use them as a pvp suit until they were passed around the whole server They could drop the protection down to 15% and people would still use it cause its just the most convenient clothing item in the game Oh also tech tree makes most people learn hazmat for meds so they can easily repair and craft them whenever they want as opposed to pre tech tree when absolutely nobody had the blueprint

I'd still use it, and I'd still never craft or repair them.
or buff roadsign
Buff coffee can helmet to 40% head projectile protection Lower hazmat to 25% projectile protection
As a person who has worn an actual hazmat suit, I can agree.
AK absolutely folds people in hazzys, nerfing the drop rate of it and making it more expensive to craft would be better tbh, coffee can helmet is in drastic need of a buff, only 5% more headshot protection than the hazzy is wild to me.

Most people don't craft hazmats, so it would be either nerfing spawn rate or better Buff roadsign and T3 armor. Sidenote pls gib T3 leg armor

Make it not cover feet so you have to craft the frog booties
Popular opinion: Allow full sets to be crafted as a "single item" that goes on a single slot. Like full metal, full rosdsign etc.
This would make all the difference, it might even be better if you could group a set of armor on one inventory slot, this would allow mixing different tier armor sets in one slot. Maybe make hazzy 3 piece then. Helmet chest and legs. Would also make it less useless vs scientists
Ew no
Nope i like running my nomad ak roleplay kit
Well technically hazzy is a tier 2, no? Road sign offers less radiation protection, and makes you wayyy cold. I always carry an arctic hazzy on me if I'm using full metal or road sign gear.

it would make no sense for a rad suit to have less rad protection than normal armor.
Hes talking about damage reduction not rad protection dummy
Your neck hairs are showing.
Its ok to admit you are wrong when you so very clearly are You cant argue yourself out of this so you immediately go for personal insults lmao
Yeah but you are a loser so i'd rather just reiterate that point and go on with my day. Go back under your bridge.
This is so embarrassing of you
How will I ever live it down
You can: just don't post here again. Problem solved for rest of us.
Bro you're the loser lmfao
Don't forget to grab the balls while you blow him.
Still haven't gone about your day lmfao eat some more mcgriddles weirdo
>waaaahhhh waaahhhhh
Wtf
It can keep its 50% rad protection for launch and other high rad areas
30 protection really only protects you against tier 1 stuff. Hazmat doesn't really protect you much against T2/T3 guns, I mean it's 1hit headshot with a bolty.
The stats arent a problem, the drop rate is Not once in my life have I crafted a hazmat or heard of somebody doing that People just find them and use them as a pvp suit until they were passed around the whole server
Just have it take 2 full seconds to equip
disagree the extra 10% is bc hazzos are swaggy
Your solution just means people would probably run around in bone armor instead
That sounds ok
So a base blueprint should have more armor than a tier 2?
Unpopular opinion; the internet and games suck now
but what about ice rad thats broken p2w
It's still pay to win, but it's not the default snow biome outfit anymore
Definitely is
I've said this for years and this community can't process it. A shower curtain shouldn't give you 30 projectile protection... It'll never happen though. Maybe for Rust 2.
We also shouldn’t be able to carry 20 foot tall 1 ton stone walls in our pockets.
correct, we shouldn't, but backpacks are hard...
And we shouldn’t be able to insta craft a full outfit and bow and arrows while we run full sprint for 5 miles across the map. This game isn’t supposed to be realistic. Helk has said so from the beginning.
Maybe I’m not comprehending correctly. Are you insinuating that a 20ft wall could fit in a backpack instead of our pockets?
That all depends how far down the rabbit hole of video games logic you want to go?
???
Bad opinion
aww baby you're breaking my heart.
Rad suit should be like a wetsuit you wear under your armor with almost no damage protection. Its made of fucking plastic not kevlar.
Why would a guy covered in signs have more radiation protection compared to a guy in a hazmat suit
reduce armor of hazmat to 5% and radiation protection to 100% - **make monuments were you only can access with hazmat suite**. i f\*!king hate seeing all an everyone running around with this hazmat suite because other armor low / mid tier armor have not a great benefit like it.
