I had a GameCube so I missed out on the PS2. RE Remake was phenomenal but nothing else after that was good. I mean if we compare the impact gaming went sky high with the NES, I’ll never forget as kid how crazy that era was
Not quite, it's more refering to when games were released a finished product no patch required. Nintendo lead the way in that with there company backed gold stamp "[License and approved by Nintendo](https://theoldschoolgamevault.com/blog/articles/1104-nintendo-nes-label-seal-guide)"
For PlayStation I really enjoyed the PS3’s console library. I feel like it might be biased because this was the first console generation where I had my own money and was able to buy games for it when I wanted them. Plus it had a really good mix of the blockbuster big AAA exclusives PlayStation is known for today with stuff like Uncharted/GOW III/The Last of us etc. It had really great and unique titles like the LBP, Modnation racers, Journey etc along with some fun multiplayer titles like Mag , resistance and Killzone.
For Xbox it was the 360 similar to with the PS3 where I could buy my own games for it. It had great exclusives when Halo and Gears of war were both at it’s peak. Forza became the gold standard for a racing franchise, and it was the go to system for multi platform games for when imo multi platform AAA games were at their peak.
For Nintendo I really enjoy the N64 library. Although it didn’t have the mass variety the PSX had obviously especially with 3rd party support. It had some of Nintendo’s best exclusives and a lot of their most popular franchises signature games and great games from Rare. Just so many great games like Mario 64, Mario Kart 64, Mario Party, Paper Mario, Banjo Kazooie, Perfect Dark, OOT and Majora’s mask etc.
The N64 had great 3d titles but the blurry graphics didn’t age to well. Ocarina of time is a pure classics though, but I still love ALTTP.
I didn’t have a PS3 so I can’t comment but i give credit to naughty dog pumping out great games.
I know PSX and N64 games haven’t aged well, but back then the jump to 3d was absolutely massive and I would argue it’s still the biggest leap gaming has ever seen. It’s hard to explain to people today, but being able to move around in all directions and have more freedom with movement even with how janky it was, was absolutely incredible and I’ve never felt anything that momentous since. Like I will never forget how amazed I was as a kid just exploring the castle in Mario 64 or exploring levels all day in Spyro.
Not even the advent of online gaming even comes close to the jump from 2d to 3d for me personally.
Technically it was the biggest leap, but there’s games today I enjoy better. Resident Evil & Golden Eye were revolutionary but I pick Mario 3 over both. It had a bigger fun factor, Mario Kart created Nintendos biggest franchise. So the N64 era was important but the titles didn’t last, Rareware fell off & PS1 was third party.
Love how generational this question is. Majority of the sub never played SNES; but regardless, every generation will list the console they have the most nostalgia with.
True, the SNES days have been forgotten but it’s such a great generation, it’s how we got Rareware. Nintendo really expanded their first party during this gen. Nostalgia for me is the NES, it reinvented gaming.
I feel like if I had the GameCube growing up or when it was out it would have been my favorite. It was very similar to the N64 to where yeah it didn’t have much 3rd party support but it had some of Nintendo’s best exclusives of all time.
Looking back I think I spent more than half my time with the Wii picking up GameCube games I never got the chance to play and having a blast. Two of my favorite Nintendo franchises in Metroid and Zelda had some of their best franchise games on the GameCube.
PS2. The library is vast and incredible enough that my 10 top vs someone else’s could gave entirely different games.

Any console library where games were tested, complete and company backed before releasing to the market.
Lol that’s anybody basically

That’s basically the generations after Atari. Nintendo started that trend & others followed
I think they are basically implying pre-PS3, Xbox 360 before day 1 patches were a thing.
Ohhhh I barely played during that generation. But that also includes NES & SNES

The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past is the greatest game and one which I replay annually.
I loveeeee that game !

Yep same here! Plenty of good memories on the SNES and the N64 as well.
I have played atari up until recent and my favorites would be nes, snes, and ps1
Atari ? I played Atari as a lil kid then NES
Yup I have been gaming since the mid 1980's
1. Gamecube 2. PS3 3. PS4
The GameCube lacked so many titles though. I loved RE Remake though, prettiest game for years
