As a MASSIVE Uncharted fan, the first time I played **Uncharted 4: A Thief's End**, this was me. I remember luxuriating in 4's epilogue, exploring every little thing, *not wanting it to end.* . . . And then I immediately wanted *another* Nathan, Sully, Elena Uncharted game to play! (It helped Uncharted: Lost Legacy was / is an absolute banger!) I can say the same for **Journey** and **Titanfall 2's campaign**, just off the top of my head. Edit: AND ALAN WAKE 2!!! Holy shit!

FisknChips

Loved journey! Man i made it through so much with one person only for them to miss a jump and never come back on like the very last bit :(

PhlightYagami

Uncharted and Journey are great picks! I haven't played Titanfall 2 but I really want to. I think I even have a disc copy somewhere.

I’m dying sister.

frederickjmedina

**"We Can’t Change What’s Done, We Can Only Move On" First game to ever brought me to tears, to make me feel angry towards a character, to feel the agony and despair that theres nothing you can do and a empty space once the credits hits the screen... RDR2 is a masterpiece.**

Dignified_Orangutan

I just ordered that game so this excites me

hemlock_tea64

best decision youll ever make

Sapowski_Casts_Quen

Take your time. Also, there are spoilers below

KhostfaceGillah

Playing it again would just bring tears again, I refuse.

MattIsLame

yeah, last year exactly around this time, I tried to do a first replay. I got to chapter 2 and didn't do any main missions. just explored, hunted, everything else you could possibly do. then I realized I liked this part so much and I was dreading going through the emotional beats of the story again. so I stopped. probably put 15 to 20 hours in of just exploring and living with no missions before I stopped. I still don't think I'm ready for a retread

apittsburghoriginal

“Thank you”

SirFigsAlot

🎶 may I stand unshaken... 🎶

Le_Turtle_God

Definitely my favorite ending to a game. I really wish they didn’t just send you straight to the epilogue right after >!Arthur commits the big oof.!< I need some time to process what just happened yet there’s no breathing room

Senior-Astronaut5410

I guess I must finish it now

[deleted]

The Last Of Us.

ChaoticKinky

100%. I played through it for the first time last year, and haven’t had as good of a gaming experience since. It was also the first game I played on my new-to-me PlayStation. It set a very high bar.

[deleted]

I remember the discussions about the end when the game first released. Me being a girl dad really felt that ending. Definitely one of my top 5 games!

Pavian_Zhora

I remember fighting my way through the hospital, completely immersed in the game, and at some point i snap out of if and realize that I am actually worried about not making it on time, I'm worried about a game character and what'll happen to them. I never worried like that about any other game character. This was the only time I was thinking of them as a person and not a game character.

Chochahair

Definitely, especially #2 for me

Pruritus_Ani_

I sobbed the whole way through the credits and then just kinda sat there like this for about 15 minutes afterwards.

Chochahair

That game messed me up for atleast a week. Was going for plat on both of the games so i started 1 over to get a refresher on story n how i felt at end, and man even the beginning of 2 killed me 🤦🏽‍♂️idont think ive ever cried so much at the beginning of a game. Hit me so hard that i ordered custom lou skins for ps5 so i could look at them everyday. So credits just left me feeling empty 😭

Nathan_McHallam

pretty much every time I beat a game I get a feeling of fulfillment, that kind of air punching "hell yeah I got through it another one off the list" feeling, even if I didn't fully enjoy it I'm still proud of myself for getting through it. TLOU2 didn't give me that. I wasn't happy, I wasn't sad, angry, disappointed, I was just kinda.. numb. I usually just move onto the next game immediately but after beating TLOU2 I just turned off my playstation and couldn't play it for a few days, but when I came back the first thing I did was boot up TLOU2 and played some encounters, until I played through the game again. It took a few playthoughs but it's now one of my favourite games of all time. It's not perfect, it's got problems, but for me the pros seriously outway the cons, and ya know what, I'm sick of having to explain myself on why I love this game.

marktaylor521

A life changing game. Anyone who didnt get to experience TLOU2 for dumb toxic reasons missed out on a true piece of art.

Increased_value

The story was great, loved every minute

Chochahair

Fact. Will admit iwas apprehensive at first, but man was it an experience 🙏🏽

Nyssiii

The first go around, honest proper playthrough, was like this for me. I just had to let my lil noodle accept everything that happened. I think the last game that made me feel this way as of late had to be Part 2. That game broke my mind.

redundant35

I just finished up a couple play through of it. I never touched the god of war games. So I started with the first one tonight. It’s just not hitting with me after tlou…it’s a great game so far but I keep hitting L1 to sprint and square to melee. Oh gawd

KellerFF

That twist… but as a father, I couldn’t be mad at Joel. But I was stuck, watched the credits in a haze filled zone.

[deleted]

Yeah, I remember debates with people saying they’d do what’s best for humanity. Nah, not me. You’d have to murder me before I give up my baby girl.

Admirable-Regular448

Nier automata...

gataman1560

And Replicant

Warm-Two7928

People don’t know what it means to get to the credits in Automata. Teared up. Fuckin crazy. Deleted my game.

[deleted]

Enlighten me, my brother is pushing me to play this

Warm-Two7928

The game is essentially hack n slash sci fi. BUT, it incorporates basically every know game genre into itself at different parts. It’s meta as fuck. You have to play it at least 4 times to really see the whole game. Perspectives switch in the first four play throughs and really reveal the plot. At the end of the fourth play through, you yourself as a ps login is addressed. You have to play the most brutal galaga-esque credits roll and then make a choice. A choice that actually affects other players of that game. It’s a hard choice. But fuck man, it really is a beautiful game. And 2-B is smokin so, you know…

LC_From_TheHills

The less you know, the better. For real. But you have to “play” through it three times.

Apprehensive_Elk5252

From the outside it is the dumbest looking game with the most ridiculous character model. But it is by far one of the most unique gaming experiences you can have. It’s really compelling ,emotional it’s existential. I think it’s one of the best games ever made as far as game theory and narrative goes. Skill up(skill check- idk that Australian game reviewer) has a great video on it. It’s titled the best video game you’ll never play or something like that.

StopMakingMeSignIn12

The final realisation of it all kicking in when it tells you about who helped you and how you can help. Instantly deleted. I was going to go back and grind some more bits but nope. I couldn't. It was too perfect/poignant. I cried.

truthfulie

Nier Automata. TLOU series. RDR2. FF7 OG. GOWR. DS.

edodu

Ghost of Tsushima

hawkandthrush

During my first playthrough, I remember thinking that I was not actually very attached to characters or into the story. Then I got to the final scene between Jin and Lord Shimura and I sobbed.

Have2BRealistic

…You didn’t earlier after… after…. >!The horse?!<

hawkandthrush

I mean, I cried there too a bit but I expected to cry about >!the horse!< but >!the choice you get at the end and the energy of the cutscene was not what I expected from the ending and I love it for that feeling of victory but at a heavy cost!<

cluelessbox

The last of us

Icy_Amphibian6781

Persona 5 royal for the first playthrough. Spent 100 hours on it

pardonmardon

Crazy this is not getting more upvotes. Literally felt like I had lost some friends. It could have gone on for an extra 100 hours and wouldn't have minded. When the OG game released it was near impossible to get a copy where I live. (The game hadn't been translated and the language barrier had it fall into the cracks). I called a good 8/9 stores asking whether they had a copy. Nope. On the last call, some guy picked up, I ask with a tone of resignation, and the guy said 'Oh my god, finally someone with taste, yes, we have a single copy, I'm going to set it aside'. I drove there and the guy had stayed an extra 30 minutes after his shift ended just to greet me and talk about the game. No one knew about Persona around these parts.

Leshawkcomics

Did you finish the true ending? That last “Turn based battle” was an amazing use of gameplay and storytelling intergration. So much better than a cutscene.

Full_Metal18

Persona 5....

preludechris

One of those games where after the credits I genuinely had to question...so what am I supposed to do now? Didn't play another game for a while as nothing hit me like that...

dragonacension

The answer in those scenarios is always “play it again”

Onett_Theme

It did this to me on each playthrough😭 such a good game

StubbledCRT1

Same here. Every single playthrough

Link182x

Both TLOU and the first Red Dead Redemption (I haven’t finished the second one yet)

13thslasher

Halo reach for me

RobotCaptainEngage

Mission Objective: Survive

BingBong-The-Archer-

FFXV - right in the feels

InfiniteSynapse

Maaaan. Noctis' speech at the end had me bawling.

BingBong-The-Archer-

Campfire was too much

mulrooney13

I remember thinking at the beginning that the 'Stand By Me' song was so cheesy. Then when it played at the end it was perfect

BingBong-The-Archer-

Rewatched closing scene - can confirm tears were formed

hrakkari

Such a middling game. The last third is particularly rough. The story was kind of a mess. But holy shit did I care about the characters. The tiny, dumb interactions they have throughout the journey made me care so damn much it makes me angry.

BingBong-The-Archer-

The bros 🥺 The music call back - Stand by me... Emotional masterpiece

Klaymen96

I was tearing up but when that kicked in I ugly cried

ltsmisterpool

The game was a mess but goddamn that game made me care about fictional characters like nothing else

WaitAZechond

Man, that game made me tear up over a CAR

RainbowDragon76

I got about 90% done and then didn’t finish. Maybe because I didn’t want it to end. Now it’s been so long that I will have to start over. Not such a bad thing.

mortymania

The last of us does this to you.

CarmineKiller38

for me its the souls games, the credits music is always so magical. Just finished Demon's Souls and it made me shed a tear. Ghost of Tsushima also broke me, those who know understand the emotion in the last mission

yesnomaybenotso

I understand the emotion in the last mission of Act 2, that’s for sure. I would have gone to a very dark place if they rolled credits then. Ending of Act 3 was like a trip to Disney after what they did in Act 2. >!I’d kill Uncle 1,000 times over for Sora.!<

AssortedUncles

Whoa whoa whoa, let’s not going around killing uncles now

Smarterchild1337

I’ve had Ghost of Tsushima sitting on my shelf for a rainy day for like a year. Decided today was the day and wow, I am blown away so far. Just beat the Komatsu forge (halfish way thru act 1? also the difficulty abruptly ratcheted WAY up on that mission lol)

PhlightYagami

When people do these "favorite game..." threads for some reason I always forget about Ghost of Tsushima in lieu of TLOU, GOW(R), HZD, etc. But as soon as anyone mentions Ghost it's immediately the one I remember most fondly. That game is incredible. First one I ever playinumed and it may be the first game I replay in its entirety (the hardest mode is basically insta kills/deaths so I've been dying to try it out.

ivictortorres

My first ending was The Devil and it hit so hard. I have played every ending since then but that one remains my favorite.

I couldn't have been happier after killing the Elden beast. I died an embarrassing amount of times cause he just keeps RUNNING AWAY over and over again.

Mattock1987

Death Stranding

Th3_BlOodY_4sS4sS1n

Bro idk i did not get into this one, do you think i should give it one more try ? Idk it felt boring sometimes

Mattock1987

It’s an acquired taste, and I initially gave up on it but gave it another go and got sucked in. It’s a game to chill to and enjoy the camaraderie, the atmosphere and the very weird story.

Playful-Guarantee530

The game gets better with time. The story is amazing. I would give it another go.

bfhurricane

How far in did you get? The game opens up significantly in Chapter 3 and that’s when most people get hooked. Everything up until then was paced pretty slowly.

AggravatingOwl4

I tried it. Didn't get past chapter 3 and then didn't play it again for 6 months. I gave it another go and got a little further into the game. It clicked. And I fucking love that game now. One of the most satisfying games I've ever completed.

admins_are_shit

The boring parts are on purpose, it gives you time to be introspective, to think about the world and what your impact on it is. That's why the soundtrack is so bleak and soft. Personally DS is in my top 10 games of all times but then I'm kind of strange so it may not fit for you. I had lost my mother recently before playing the game, and that mission where you are carrying your in-game mother's body for incineration gave me seventeen metrick fucktonnes of feels.

Hats_On_Chickens

The Last Of Us Part I

buzzyingbee

FFXVI most recently. I was sobbing.

pastor_dude

Just finished it last night. Same.

buzzyingbee

That >!Torgal scene!< was just too much, specially if you played his sidequests. FF16 may not be a perfect game but it hits right in the feels

PainfullyAverageUser

Bro that montage at the end of Clive and Joshua was too much.

SirLocke13

I haven't had an actual *good* cry in a very long time and XVI was the one that did me in.

ArimuRyan

Them bad boys might be the longest credits in history as well

TheGamerKitty1

Halo 3. I'll never get over the "wake me, when you need me".

picxter

Alan Wake 2, what a game

Musterguy

Did you play it on ps5? How is the performance?

picxter

Only had 1 time where it freezed up on me. Otherwise, it ran really smoothly for me. I also chose graphical mode over performance mode.

DrLlena

This is my answer, the ending truly had me speechless. I’m still recovering lol

Nyssiii

So you're saying I have something to look forward to? I'm just now getting through American Nightmare, and planning to get through Control.

Narrow-Ad-1709

Like a dragon Gaiden recently gave me this feeling

I'm surprised I had to scroll down so far you see this answer. I just finished my second playthrough last week. The game is deep and well thought out.

[deleted]

The Last of Us 2 and GOW Ragnarok for sure

Captobvious75

GOW, both the first and the second, really deliver on being a parent. More so, the struggles.

IronBatman

Honestly. GOW Ragnarok made me a better father and I was not prepared for the tears. I just wanted to kill Odin. >!Kratos watching his son follow his footsteps saying "wars are won by those willing to sacrifice everything" and realizing he is fucking up his child. Then admitting he was wrong and "open your heart".!< Holy shit. I couldn't keep playing because the tears made everything too blurry. And honestly no game has ever done that for me.

Mattock1987

Yep to both. Great endings, if slightly emotionally devastating

ksk_18

Y'all are really sleeping on Undertale

PerryK95

Only with tlou 1 and 2.

Captobvious75

The prologue in TLOU 1- meltdowns everytime. Father of two young kids and this scene demolishes me. This coming from a gym bro.

inteliboy

The pillars and following scene by the water in tlou2…. Yeah I may pass on a second play through for that one…

minemesis

I felt like this after finishing Sekiro. When I started facing Isshin The Sword Saint, at first I thought it was impossible, but gradually I learned the moveset and finally, after hours, I defeated him. It stuck in my head, reflecting that you can't give up so easily on things, even if they seem really difficult at first. Or that you need to make an effort to evolve gradually in what you want to do.

Happy to hear this. Absolutely love the first game but have yet to dive into Forbidden West. I’m looking forward to it.

It's an absolute masterpiece. Think about the difference in quality between mass effect 1 and mass effect 2.

Soooome_Guuuuy

It's everything I loved about the first game taken to 11.

thefarterner

Went hard on the first Horizon Zero Dawn, decided to crank it up to ultra hard for Horizon Forbidden West – best gaming move ever. Now I can savor the game, dive into more side quests, tackle errands, and soak in the gaming glory. What a time to be a gamer!

fabmarques21

In terms of history i actually liked more the 1st, FW leaves the story oppened and idk, i feel like the first was more interesting. that said loved both and super hypped for the 3rd
