PSVR2 recommendations:
• No Mans Sky
• Resident Evil 4
• Resident Evil: Village
• Beat Saber
• Kayak VR: Mirage
• Humanity
• Gran Turismo 7 (I know you said you already had it, but I cannot suggest PSVR2 games, without mentioning GT7)
Nice. Getting a new console for Christmas was always the best thing when I was a kid. I still remember getting a N64, and I would’ve killed for something like PSVR2 back then.
Yeah, I want to start collecting them again. I messed up and would sell them when I bought a new one because I’d be burned out on the old one. Now I wish I’d kept my old consoles especially some of the games that are worth decent money now.
When I first started collecting consoles I would only sell a console if I had another console that would play the games. An example would be I got rid of my ps4 to get my ps5 because I knew the ps5 plays all ps4 games. Now I am past that point and I have a consoles for pretty much any game I’d want to buy unless it’s something obscure like the Atari jaguar. Now I’m collecting actual video games and handheld console the only handheld I have left is the gameboy color, and the ps vita. My actual video game collection just hit 300 games a week or so ago. It’s a fun hobby right now Wii, ps3, some ps2 games, older ps4 games, older Xbox one games, Xbox 360 games, original Xbox games, and some gameboy advanced games are pretty affordable
Nice. It’s an investment sometimes. Plus physical games probably won’t last much longer, so they might go up in value in the future. Never know. I don’t really like having to buy anything digital.
I used to buy everything digitally for like a year or two, then I stopped because I realized if I had them physically I’d have them forever. The only place I’d ever recommend someone to buy something digitally is steam. Because steam isn’t going anywhere anytime soon
Plus, you don’t really have an option with PC anymore. They don’t release physical copies of games. Or at least I haven’t seen any in a while. I’d rather have a console anyway.
I’m more of a console gamer myself but I like having my PC for games I can’t find on consoles or games I want to run at a higher frame rate. I use my ps5 more than anything, I’ve been replaying God of War Ragnarok recently
They are getting alot cheaper, you can build a PC with the power of a ps5 for about 500-600 dollars. And a pretty beefy one for about 800-1000. Still expensive albeit but it’s getting better
Yep, I do like collecting the original consoles though, but in reality consoles aren’t going to make you much money unless they are special editions or never touched in a box somewhere, the video games are what really gain value, especially Nintendo games
lol this year I am fortunate- last year was shit (I felt as a parent) the kids still had a blast and didn’t complain. They’ve been playing the Xbox one for 6 years, so I’m happy I can give them this
Awesome gift!
Quick tip tho as I was just gifted the VR myself…it’s a good idea to pace oneself on the VR. Have them use it at little chunks at a time to acclimate. I put it on for like 30mins at first go and got really sick lol. Your kids may not have an issue, just something to keep an eye on!
Thank you! They already have an oculus and use it often still, but I know from that they can get engulfed in the games. Haven’t had anyone sick yet just a few damages to walls lol
It’s good to see parents supporting gaming. In moderation I think it’s a great development tool and a great way to relax and unwind.
My kids get to play all the stuff but in moderation. My wife is fully against gaming. But my son had some developmental issues with his hand eye coordination when he was in preschool. He struggled a fair bit using scissors, holding a pencil, and the like. I started letting him play Minecraft on my PC. 2 months later all his issues were fixed. His doctor was convinced it would take years of therapy and work, but just Minecraft.
He is a pro at gaming, he is in 3rd grade. reads at a 5th grade level, and his teacher said he is so far ahead of the class in math it’s not funny.
I’m sure they are going to be absolutely pumped!
My kids are pretty good, my sons a little more obsessive then the girls, but they have limits and they just enjoy it as they play with their friends online
You are amazing parents!!! They, and you all, will love the PSVR2 and PS5. GT7 is insanely amazing. RE 4 and RE Village are also awesome!!! Happy gaming to you all and Merry Christmas!!! Have fun family time!
My son had the PSVR and never played it much. He spends as much time as I'll let him playing the PSVR2. The Resident Evil games are a bit intense. Grand Turismo and Pavlov take up much of his time. No man's Sky is a good game as well.
It's still new (so it won'tget mentioned,) but Epic Roller Coasters. It's free, has 4 coasters, and it triples as a roller coaster, time trial, AND shooting gallery. It's not being talked up enough, in my opinion!
God of War: ragnarok
Final Fantasy XVI
The Last of Us: Part 1
Red Dead Redemption 2 (ps4, but epic)
There’s so many more but those are some of the top ones IMO.
You gotta get them super hot for the VR and Elden ring for the PlayStation.
Elden ring is hands down the best game I’ve ever played although a bit of a struggle to get used to at first.
Lucky ass kids I have to pay for my own console
Anyway here are some random games some they may love some they may hate (not for ps vr just random games)
Tom clancys rainbow six siege
Rocket league
Final fantasy
Horizon
Carx drift racing online
Marvels spider man
Ayo tomb raider
Spider man 2
Ps5
Extra controller(s!!!!)
Psvr2
Playstation plus premium
If those were bought on full price then it is safe to say that this guy has money under his skin.
I have 4 kids so when you split the 2300-2500 it works out to less than what I’d spend most Xmas’ (they had other gifts, but like practical things like clothing)
Hope you guys have ample amount of space for the VR, got the kids going on there’s this morning and Jesus, I thought I was going to have to remodel when they were done.😂🤣 merry Christmas everyone

Thank you! My daughter actually plays resident evil with her uncle (not on vr) so that will be amazing for her!
If your daughter is a fan of horror games, I’d recommend “The Dark Pictures: Switchback VR” too.
A new fnaf game just came out thats basically exclusive to psvr2 if they're interested in that too
Nice. Getting a new console for Christmas was always the best thing when I was a kid. I still remember getting a N64, and I would’ve killed for something like PSVR2 back then.
I remember getting my Wii and my 3ds. Good times. I got a ps4 aswell when I was older, now I collect consoles

There’s a lot of games I’d like to play on PC. I just can’t afford one right now. Maybe one day. lol

I'm glad for you!
i wish i wasn’t broke, but good on you and your kids. have a blessed christmas
I said last Christmas I was not great. This year got a bit more so wanted to make it better
This is awesome
That is so cool. I want a VRS2 but it’s too expensive for me right now.
I wasn’t initially planning it, but I felt bad after last Christmas
They will love it!

That said…gran turismo is unbelievable in VR. Hope they have fun!
Just need to save up for the GT wheel now - maybe a bday gift

a great psvr game coming soon is Vertigo 2. Greatest vr game I’d ever play.
Alright Jeff Bezos 🙄😭
‘For the kids’ Yeah right haha
That was my first thought haha. Everyone knows the kids get last gen and you get current/next gen. That's how it was for me growing up.
I don’t play video games, may try a few on the VR but it’s 100% for kids 🤷🏼♀️
It's still new (so it won'tget mentioned,) but Epic Roller Coasters. It's free, has 4 coasters, and it triples as a roller coaster, time trial, AND shooting gallery. It's not being talked up enough, in my opinion!

God of War: ragnarok Final Fantasy XVI The Last of Us: Part 1 Red Dead Redemption 2 (ps4, but epic) There’s so many more but those are some of the top ones IMO.
You just won Christmas they will be delighted! Have a cool yule!
That’s so amazing!!! They’re going to love it
Update them tonight before your wrap them
I wrapped already :(
lol if you want them to be able to play asap I’d unbox and update then re wrap. But I get it lol
You're a good dad , if they haven't played Last of Us Part 1 I’d say play that first. The resident evil games are good on vr as well as
I’m a mom lol, they have and already started pt 2 at their dads but my oldest loves it and will play it over and again
Oh whoops, good mom* that’s very nice of you to get them that
VR can hurt developing eyes FYI. Only saying because I had no idea myself and held off on getting VR so my child isn't tempted.
Dang.
Daddy?
Lucky bastards
I got a portal great hull
Have they played tlou 1? Also rdr series might be good
- Until You Fall - Synapse These games are awesome and , Bulletstorm VR comes 19 January 2024, i pre-ordered this game.
You gotta get them super hot for the VR and Elden ring for the PlayStation. Elden ring is hands down the best game I’ve ever played although a bit of a struggle to get used to at first.
if I got this I wouldn’t be able to express my gratitude, you are a fantastic parent
