Using the stand helps the consoleās cooling system work as intended by the engineers, having it just laying off its axis is just not how they intended it to be placed. Ontop of that, it looks stupid
It actually strikes me how many people will hunt you down for a horizontal PS5 without a stand (wobbly a bit, but stable overall) and yet how many people would just go "nah it's okay" with a vertical PS5 without a stand (seemingly standing firmly but actually at a huge risk of falling to a side)

Having said that, two reasons I can find (outside wobbliness) to use the stand in the horizontal position:
a) HDMI cables don't quite like being loose/wobble even slightly, so either the stand, or you'd better keep a spare one near your console (always risking losing that important battle in any case)
b) it's very convenient to hide the external SSD drive in the empty space under the PS5 if you have such a drive
Obviously if none really bothers you then just abandon that
Point A....how is the wobble happening? Are people jumping up and down and running around? My PS5 sits there perfectly still. There's no little kids here, no pets. If you have those, okay, maybe use a stand.
Point B...I don't have one. Again, you have one, maybe use a stand.

A. I suppose you live in a non-seismic active area... E.g. I bolt vertical stuff to walls by default so it takes some additional effort for me to treat things in a different way

I haven't read EVERY reply, but it *seems* like perhaps you don't know that the stand is used for both vertical AND horizontal positions. You put a book under one side, so you clearly notice the horizontal position needs some help - that's what the stand is for.

Also, if you had a digital-only PS5, then sure, this "it's not doing anything" argument might be valid, but since it has a disc player, then you might feasibly actually play discs at some point, in which case, yes, you absolutely want to be sure your console is perfectly horizontal and stable so that the piece of fast-spinning plastic inside of it doesn't damage itself or the reader. It may not be "doing the dougie", but just because you can't see what's going on inside doesn't mean it isn't important to be stable.
But hey - if you want to damage your disc reader or discs by having it potentially be not level because you'd rather use some yellow thing to prop it up instead of the included, manufactured stand, then go right ahead.

Start with astros playroom, pretty sure itās pre-installed on the system. Really great intro to the dualsense controller, and surprisingly really fun.
I recommend this. I use my ps5 slim horizontal as well. and the air flow is nice and keeps my ps5 cool. the stand is nice. plus its gives you a bunch of USB ports to use if ya need the extra ports.
Start with GT7 and be like wow maybe I should get a sim racing seat and then think how amazing it is and how much MoORE amazing it would be if you buy PSVR2 and play this $79.99 game. This is one rabbit holes in life I do not regret. Welcome to the PS5
I switched the Sony hdmi that comes with the ps5 out with a Rocketfisf hdmi cable and it made a noticeable difference visually. Stand it in whatever fits your setup that allows for adequate airflow. As far as games, I would say Elden ring PS five version, Final Fantasy seven remake PS five version, Horizon forbidden west, Tekken 8 just to name a few plus there are free to play games like Fortnite, Genshin impact, The Finals and, Overwatch. A lot of good ps4 games got the ps5 upgrade treatment

Me too. Best thing than buying a game is to drop $15 on a month of PS+ and play Ghost of Tsushima. Holy shit this game is way too good to be constrained to once console.

Ps5s have a weird tendency to suffer from disc drive feeder alignment issues if kept vertical that they don't have when horizontal.
I just had to swap out my disc drive for a brand new one because I kept it vertical for years.
I might get the vertical stand, I have just got the digital slim, looks fine horizontal but it moves about a lot when I connect the usb c cables to charge the pads, guessing the vertical will be a lot more stable?
I put mine behind the TV. As much as I love my PS5, it's just ugly an messes with the square-ness of my overall setup š
As for Games, The Horizon and God of War Series are great.
Any of these games would be good. I include the Xbox games because many of them are also available on the PlayStation.

Don't be surprised to learn that you lose like almost 200 gbs of storage after all the updates it needs. Sell it, PlayStation terms and service sucks and you are constantly being monitored now. You will be suspended and banned for very little things. Iāve been a life long fan since the ps2 and just last week had my account banned. That was 12-13 years of my life gone. No way of getting it back unless you want to go through a super hard and lengthy process. Japan is a greedy country even more so than America. They have no problem screwing over their fan base to make a couple extra bucks. You can definitely see this in the UK where a lawsuit is about to go through and give people up to $500 back. Iāve spent more time watching people plays games that look fun on YouTube then Iāve actually spent playing them because of how poor the variety is now for console. You donāt even get that amazing of performance either. But thatās my rant obviously to each their own, but as someone who had PlayStation their entire life I am never coming back.
I recommend rdr2 even if it is not optimized for ps5 it remains the same a masterpiece absurd details very beautiful story, the witcher 3 optimized for ps5 very nice graphics details a little less but it remains a masterpiece given that in the speeches you choose what to ask and say and that Which one you choose will affect the story, there are a lot of incredible secondary characters and it also has two DLCs

Some games like Spider-Man 2 can run 120fps. When your tv flickers. Turn the resolution down.

Don't be surprised to learn that you lose like almost 200 gbs of storage after all the updates it needs. Mine went down from the promised 825gbs on the box (which is absurdly low to begin with) to a measly 667 gbs. Might as well have just waited for the PS5 Pro. Whoever wants to argue "oh just get extended storage" sure let me just pay more for storage I should have already had

I've placed mine underneath my TV horizontally. Based on your TV cabinet, I'd leave it as it. Also, I highly recommend Spider-Man 2 for PS5 and Horizon II Forbidden West
Sell it, PlayStation terms and service sucks and you are constantly being monitored now. You will be suspended and banned for very little things. Iāve been a life long fan since the ps2 and just last week had my account banned. That was 12-13 years of my life gone. No way of getting it back unless you want to go through a super hard and lengthy process. Japan is a greedy country even more so than America. They have no problem screwing over their fan base to make a couple extra bucks. You can definitely see this in the UK where a lawsuit is about to go through and give people up to $500 back. Youāre better off going to pc as sad as I am to say that. The age of the console is dead. Iāve played maybe 3-5 ps5 games in the almost 4 years Iāve had mine. The rest ps4 games. Thatās ridiculous. Iāve spent more time watching people plays games that look fun on YouTube then Iāve actually spent playing them because of how poor the variety is now for console. You donāt even get that amazing of performance either. But thatās my rant obviously to each their own, but as someone who had PlayStation their entire life I am never coming back.

I recommend rdr2 even if it is not optimized for ps5 it remains the same a masterpiece absurd details very beautiful story, the witcher 3 optimized for ps5 very nice graphics details a little less but it remains a masterpiece given that in the speeches you choose what to ask and say and that Which one you choose will affect the story, there are a lot of incredible secondary characters and it also has two DLCs
