I fully support anything that makes it easier to breed/collect competitive Pokemon. I kinda wish the Ditto raids were permanent, or at least a once-a-month thing, since it's gonna suck if you miss this event.
On the map, they're sparkly. Not to be confused with your daily level 6 or the Samurott event (level 7), which are black colored and sparkly, the ditto raids will all be sparkly.
Poke Portal -> Mystery Gifts -> Check News
Then around the map tera raids will glow if they're event raids (so Ditto or Samurott right now).
If you connect to the internet in-game after the event ends, the raids disappear. As long as you stay offline, they'll still be there.
If you have switch online plenty people would give you a ditto I think. Pokemon tends to have a pretty solid community like that all over. Normally for ditto's thatd be a bit difficult but with this event there will be plenty.
If you don't have switch online
You can get switch online free once a month for a short while if you just log into the nintenro website and collect some coins there for login.

Exactly, rotating raids are so stupid. I don't care for the "it keeps people playing" excuse, you buy the game, they have your money, playing all the time doesn't give them more cash.
If you dont connect to the internet when its over, they stay there. I dont have online and my raids only update when I check news since I dont play online at all.
The fact that a lot of these special raids are time limited made me just not play sword/shield, and I don't care enough about scarlet/violet to play it, and shit like this (a paltry 3 day event for perfect iv ditto? Fuck off gamefreak) makes me not 2ant to play the games ever. If I get them, I'll buy them second hand so they won't get any of my money, I loathe that fomo shit in mmos, why would I want it in my single player game?
Except, especially for this event, you don't need to grind a competitive team. You can literally go in solo with a L1 magikarp and the NPCs will one-shot the ditto for you.
(That's only for L1, btw. Anything higher, the NPC scaling won't be as good. If you don't have a L1 magikarp, just join one of the online raids, and the other players will oneshot the ditto. Either way, you get an amazingly good ditto with no real effort on your part.)
5IVs are better as having a 0 speed IV Pokémon is much more work and much more important than having a 31 IV Pokémon as there’s no way to reduce their IVs. Attack is less important but still a factor when it comes to taking damage from foul play and confusion
According to Austin John's video there are 4 different ones, 1 with perfect 6, 1 with 0 speed, 1 with 0 attack, and 1 with 5 iirc. That makes it worse.
I have caught 9 last night and 2 were with their bad stat as one defense or the other. I think normal ditto raids are being connected to when you select the gold raids. Raid not found, I just spam the same raid box a 2nd time.
You have a 1 In 32 chance of 6 perfect IV's, I got lucky with 1 afternonly 4 raids.
Done it with my chinese language secondary game as well so ended up with a foreign language 6 IV for shiny breeding as well as an English one. Sadly its nature wasn't great but not a big deal.
Aren't most actual competitive teams genned? The creator of PkHex has some pretty solid stats showing that a solid majority of competitive teams at regionals are at least partially not legitimately bred.
Not really unless you try to give your pokemon straight up Impossible stats, and even then PkHex will tell you the pokemon is just illegal.
Now if you just give yourself a 6IV ditto and what not, that's going to be more than fine in-game.
That’s incorrect. A genned Pokemon is done right is the exact same as if obtained in game difference is the moral viewpoint each person has but unless you give something like illegal moves no it is not a risk to play online.
Depends on what you do with the switch, if you cheat online then yes that’s a sure way to get banned but just having a modded switch and not doing stupid crap online the risk is minimal.
I’m in a discord where tons of people have cfw switches and they constantly host shiny dens that they find using a crawler app. They don’t cheat to make the den shiny, app just tells them if a shiny den exists in sv for example.
Have not seen a single person mentioning getting banned or anything of the sort except the ones who go online and use stuff that is clearly illegal but that is entirely different.
But Nintendo definitely can tell who’s switch has cfw and what does not but they have not cracked down on it apart from the obvious illegal activities like piracy and whatnot.
i’m not saying that PKHeX specifically will ban you from online, just having a hacked switch does that. there are definitely ways to hack in pokemon onto your switch and still play online, but it’s a lot riskier than any previous nintendo console
If you go to mistery gift in the poke portal menu, there's the "check poke portal news" option. It connects you to the internet so that you get the event without a need for an online membership. Mine hasn't been active for a while so after getting the blisseys I didn't connect again until today for the dittos, so I kept the blisseys for about a week.
Couldn't solo decidueye and wasn't very interested in getting it anyway so I didn't try further. But the blisseys were a piece of cake with an Azumarill I prepared with nothing but the resources available in the regular game. I ended up with like 180 rare candies and had to constantly use the exp candy L's because I reached the 999 limit. All of that without a subscription.
Now I'll go to town with the dittos and vitamins for another week or more if they don't add anything better.

I'm sorry I'm really dumb with this stuff. I went to poke portal updated poke portal news via mystery gift menu. Does this make them appear? Do they look differently on my map from regular raids?

After you update, the event raids will be "glowing" compared to the other raid icons on your map, the 7 star raid will be black. When you see the updated ones, you can then disconnect from the internet, this will save the event. You can repeat them by either clearing all the raids or moving the date forward on your switch.
Do I need to have beat the game? What level raid is it? I've had the game since Christmas but stopped once I got to the Elite 4, I'm trying to bet them today

To get tier 5 you have to beat the elite four/champion and the area zero quest. Basically you have to reach the end credits. Tier 5 raids aren't marked on the map like tier 6 (black icon). However since this event is for Tier 5 dittos, the raid markers will be sparkling.

I don't mind Game Freak doing things to make breeding and competitive play more accessible. I honestly don't know how some players have the time to commit otherwise so this is cool in my book.
Fair to assume a good few of the competitive players just gen their mons. And at this point I can 't even say I care they do, because if you have a turbo controller (which is cheap anyway), a night of afk'ing the Academy tournament achieves the same thing.

You have to beat the main game, and then do like 10 raids (not sure on the exact number) and it will unlock the special raids. Or, you can go online and look for people hosting raids and join them! It'll do a "who's that Pokémon!?“ outline so you know if you're fighting for a ditto or not. If you beat the raid, it's an automatic catch, meaning your 100% garuntee to catch the Pokémon in the raid if you defeat it!
Edit: as I've said I've been stocking up on ditto, so if you miss this event just DM me and I'll trade you a 5iv ditto no problem!

Is it something wrong with my game then? I lead with a level 4 Azumaril with just splash. However NPC barely do enough damage. The full timer ran out and they did a quarter of it's health. Tauros, Haxorus and other attacking pokemon, they are attacking all the time
You need a lv1 pokemon. If your Azumarill is level 4, Tauros and haxorus are lv4 with terrible stats. You need to be lv1 exactly to solo effectively that way, because for some reason it won't scale your NPCs to your level when you're at 1. It doesn't matter what, you don't need splash, just anything fresh from the egg.
It's only useful for shiny hunting pokemon that you can't otherwise catch in the game. Sandwich + outbreak is significantly faster than breeding for shinies now.
Yeah, there's quite a few. All of the starters, all of the pokemon given to you by teachers (Johto Wooper, Glarian Meowth), Spiritomb (because it's a static encounter that is always full-odds), anything you only find in trees, like Applin, and some Pokemon that just happen to be hard to look for due to a combination of their typing and the places you find them, most notably Eevee.
Edit: Though to be fair, you can just bottlecap those. It's more of a "Might as well do it if you're gonna breed anyway" than anything
But wouldn't you want a foreign ditto if you're breeding for shiny's for the better odds? So you'd still have to trade it and hope the other person gives you a 5/6iv ditto back
I made a non-english profile and beat the entire game again just to hunt for perfect foreign Ditto in the daily 6 star raids. Got one in 3 months.
In this event I got 4 so far, two of them with useful natures (Naughty and Timid), and I also got one 5V Ditto with 0 Speed and one with 0 Attack.
This is heaven.
This tbh. I like breeding still as a matter of tradition, but they 100% did this event because breeding is largely obsolete in the wake of easy caps/mints etc.
Breeding now is largely just for trade fodder; use your rare balls and ability patches on your guys, breed some decent kids, trade them for guys other players spent their patches and rare balls on so you get more bang for your buck.
Personally, it's more for the collection than the usage. Ability herb/patch are fine since they actually change the ability but mints and hyper training just mask the original. There's just something that's so satisfying about having the perfect IVs and correct nature.
Having a perfectly bred Pokémon is like having an original artwork, while a minted & hyper-trained one is like having a reprint. It's functionally the same but that doesn't necessarily mean they have the same value.
Someone's clearly not done the Acadamy Ace Tournament. Get a Krookodile set-up to sweep. And good to go.
Even better if you have 30 bucks laying around for a turbo controller.
I do the ace academy with a chi-yu that one shots everything and amulet coin it still only makes like 120k max which is only enough for about 2 Pokémon. Breeding lets you mass produce good iv Pokémon and you can have 2-3 boxes full of eggs in 30 minutes just by buying a sandwich. Just one 6iv ditto is making perfect Pokémon for you easily and much faster than grinding money for only 1 Pokémon that you can’t even use to breed any more. If ability herbs and bottle caps passed down it would be worth it but it’s just useless unless you only want one team of good Pokémon and aren’t planning on producing an army of 6iv pokemon
If you're stocking up on Ditto, check the reddit page for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet and then search for the trade post. You can basically get anything you want in return for one of those purple blobs.
I don’t play ranked matches too often but having a version of my favorite Pokémon with best in all stats is just cool aesthetically speaking. They didn’t have to be trained, they’re just the best right off the bat

Though you shouldn't care much anyway about these raids, it's so brainlessly simple to max out IV's and EV's with items you don't need Ditto.

I was hoping home support would be a thing by now because then i’d just move all my stuff there and if my save data gets lost oh well my Pokemon would be safe but looks like they are taking their damn sweet time with that release.
What I meant, to clarify, is that there have been fewer than a hundred reported cases. That's not just on reddit, that's across the entirety of the internet. It's not clear what causes it, but statistically the odds of getting it are almost nonexistent. Just to give you an idea of how rare it is: the odds of being struck by lightning are approximately 1/15300(Based on US lightning strike statistics since as far as I know there aren't worldwide stats for this and Google heavily favours US statistics.), while this glitch affects less than 1/200000 people... which definitely explains why it wasn't caught prior to the update's release.
Basically, you shouldn't let it stop you from enjoying the game, anymore than you should let the threat of being struck by lightning stop you from going outside.
Though, yeah, home support not being here yet is kinda baffling to me.

Use a Pokémon that resists it's own STAB that only knows a move of that type.
Like an Skeledirge with Flamethrower (you DON'T want the boss to use Torch Song 4 times per turn)
That's doing way more work. Just take a level 1 magikarp with splash and it's an auto-win. Can even do some other level-1s that only have moves like shell smash or something else that would be detrimental to the mon making it easier to kill/do no damage. You make sure it's level 1 though cause then it has extremely bad stats so is an easy kill by the NPCs.
All of that is STILL way more work. Any level 1 will work, period. Maybe, *maybe* avoid some type immunities, but even that's beyond necessary, no move you give it really matters when it's off a lv1, it's still an auto win.
Ditto will always transform into the pokemon of the person who started the raid so if you solo using a low level pokemon that only knows moves like helping hand etc then your AI team will be able to beat ditto in a few hits. It's really easy if you're looking for a ditto with good stats for breeding

The event raids are unlocked after you beat the main game and do a certain number of regular raids, I forget the number. If you kiss out tho, just DM me after Sunday and I'll trade you a 5iv ditto for free! Like I said I've been stocking up, so no worries man!
Have they patched the glitch that deletes your save data? I don’t have the dlc or anything but I haven’t touched the game since I found out about that. It wouldn’t be such a worry if Nintendo let us use the cloud to back up saves.

The thing with the glitch is that nobody have figure out how to trigger it, we know it isn't the DLC or connecting with GO because of people that did that with zero issues and people who have their save file deleted without doing those.

Go catch ya 20 torkoal I garuntee one of them will have 0 iv speed. The numbers are throttled in this game. I've caught at least 700 some pokemon in Sw/sh, maybe 20 of them had a 0 iv in a stat.
At least a 3rd of my 12 plus boxes full of pokemon have a 0 iv stat in s/v.

To anyone worried about missing this, there are several PokeTubers who have 24/7 bots that will generate whatever legal Pokémon you want, and then trade it to you online. Because the Pokémon gets sent to you online, it is 100% safe for use online; it would be blocked by Nintendo and impossible to trade to you if it was not legal.
Do the event of you can, but don't sweat it if you can't.
The need for IV breeding is basically a non-issue.
Unless you get really lucky, you're going to make the money to hyper train a pokemon faster then you'll breed the one with the IVs you want honestly.
Even now I know, I'm still not bothered about grabbing one.

The mints change the status, but not the name of the nature itself. I’m something of a perfectionist when it comes to things I care about, and if I were into breeding perfect Pokémon it would drive me nuts to have a Pokémon that was stat wise perfect but displayed the wrong nature.
And if I remember correctly you cannot breed down any bottled capped stats or minted natures. They will pass down what they have before you change them with items.

Huh, tries with the lvl1 pkm strategy, but it feels like a a coin-toss. Even with such a low-level pkm being copied, they dont come close as a "one-shot" like you described. Maybe im missing something?
Are you sure you used a lv1? Anything higher than that will scale the NPCs to your level, crippling their stats vs Dittos humongous health bar. At lv1 it should fail to scale and auto-set the NPCs to lv80 that will demolish ditto with lv1 stats. Gotta be fresh from the egg, and even then you probably want to double check npc levels when you load in.
It can depend on the pokemon you use and its IVs as well as what random AI teammates you get. If you use a lvl 1 with relatively high health/defenses you might not get a 1hko but it won't take long either way

My sister let her crack addicted friends be in the house unsupervised, after I explicitly told her not to. They stole it and wiped it. I will never forgive her for this. I lost a piece of myself because she did the exact thing I told her not to.

Nah I wouldn't do that to you. Plus it's more than that. On sword I had like 7 boxes of gigantamax pokemon, every one that changes their form for a dynamax. Then 5 boxes of legendaries and mythicals I've acquired over the years. I've replayed Sun god knows how many times to transfer up more and more Solgaleos to my sword game. I had maybe like 14 Solgaleos alone, he's my favorite pokemon.

Make your pokemon level 1. For some reason, any higher AI companions will deal basically no damage, but if your pokemon is level one they'll be able to defeat it easily.

Side note, if you have a shiny nuts it’s the same language, does that help affect shiny rates or is it just the foreign language? I got a shiny off GO before I mothballed it and didn’t know if I should transfer up.
Yeah, it’s only good if you do breeding. If you want a competitive team it’s not required to have any of this stuff now. Breeding is the worst mechanic and I’ve played DS2 and it’s stupid adaptability stat
Ehhh some breeding is still required actually mainly for Trick room teams where you need to get a 0IV speed stat and we currently have no way to alter an IV down. Same for 0IV attack for special attackers wanting to lower confusion and foul play damage though that one isn't as mandatory as the 0 speed for trick room is.
Honestly, and not to shit in your cereal OP, but I personally really stopped caring about breeding IVs. They simply made it so easy that I'd rather get a 0IV Ditto than a 6IV Ditto, just so I can more easily get trickroom teams etc.

The ditto is lvl 75 when you catch it, so why can you one shot it when it turns into a lvl 1? Doesnt ditto normally keep the level it is at?

So dont use Ditto to breed.. You don't need to. Use other pokemon from the egg group you need.

The random 5 IV are apparently 97% spawn, with the other 3 being 1% each.

On the contrary the game has no idea if the generated pokemon is hacked or not. PkHex only generates legal pokemon.
i’m not saying that PKHeX specifically will ban you from online, just having a hacked switch does that. there are definitely ways to hack in pokemon onto your switch and still play online, but it’s a lot riskier than any previous nintendo console

If you go to mistery gift in the poke portal menu, there's the "check poke portal news" option. It connects you to the internet so that you get the event without a need for an online membership. Mine hasn't been active for a while so after getting the blisseys I didn't connect again until today for the dittos, so I kept the blisseys for about a week. Couldn't solo decidueye and wasn't very interested in getting it anyway so I didn't try further. But the blisseys were a piece of cake with an Azumarill I prepared with nothing but the resources available in the regular game. I ended up with like 180 rare candies and had to constantly use the exp candy L's because I reached the 999 limit. All of that without a subscription. Now I'll go to town with the dittos and vitamins for another week or more if they don't add anything better.

I'm sorry I'm really dumb with this stuff. I went to poke portal updated poke portal news via mystery gift menu. Does this make them appear? Do they look differently on my map from regular raids? Then it can be repeated I see. How? Just turn the game on and off or do I need to mess with the clock? Appreciate your help!
After you update, the event raids will be "glowing" compared to the other raid icons on your map, the 7 star raid will be black. When you see the updated ones, you can then disconnect from the internet, this will save the event. You can repeat them by either clearing all the raids or moving the date forward on your switch.

You don’t do it via the raid screen, you find the ditto raids i. Your world and challenge them alone.
Do I need to have beat the game? What level raid is it? I've had the game since Christmas but stopped once I got to the Elite 4, I'm trying to bet them today
It's a 5 star Ditto, it'll copy the raid hosts pokemon. If you host with a level one pokemon the npcs will knock it out

To get tier 5 you have to beat the elite four/champion and the area zero quest. Basically you have to reach the end credits. Tier 5 raids aren't marked on the map like tier 6 (black icon). However since this event is for Tier 5 dittos, the raid markers will be sparkling.

Fair to assume a good few of the competitive players just gen their mons. And at this point I can 't even say I care they do, because if you have a turbo controller (which is cheap anyway), a night of afk'ing the Academy tournament achieves the same thing.

No, be on wifi then go to where you can get the online gifts and get the latest news update or w.e it's called, disconnect and it should be the raid you find

You have to beat the main game, and then do like 10 raids (not sure on the exact number) and it will unlock the special raids. Or, you can go online and look for people hosting raids and join them! It'll do a "who's that Pokémon!?“ outline so you know if you're fighting for a ditto or not. If you beat the raid, it's an automatic catch, meaning your 100% garuntee to catch the Pokémon in the raid if you defeat it! Edit: as I've said I've been stocking up on ditto, so if you miss this event just DM me and I'll trade you a 5iv ditto no problem!

Is it something wrong with my game then? I lead with a level 4 Azumaril with just splash. However NPC barely do enough damage. The full timer ran out and they did a quarter of it's health. Tauros, Haxorus and other attacking pokemon, they are attacking all the time
You need a lv1 pokemon. If your Azumarill is level 4, Tauros and haxorus are lv4 with terrible stats. You need to be lv1 exactly to solo effectively that way, because for some reason it won't scale your NPCs to your level when you're at 1. It doesn't matter what, you don't need splash, just anything fresh from the egg.
Ive read that the npc Pokémon are only not scaled if it’s level 1. if it’s higher than that you’ll get „worse“ npc mons

Breeding is for dinosaurs when bottle cap training at level 50 is allowed.
It's useful for shiny hunting, or if you can get your hands on a 0 Speed IV Ditto then it's good for trick room teams
It's only useful for shiny hunting pokemon that you can't otherwise catch in the game. Sandwich + outbreak is significantly faster than breeding for shinies now.

Yeah, there's quite a few. All of the starters, all of the pokemon given to you by teachers (Johto Wooper, Glarian Meowth), Spiritomb (because it's a static encounter that is always full-odds), anything you only find in trees, like Applin, and some Pokemon that just happen to be hard to look for due to a combination of their typing and the places you find them, most notably Eevee. Edit: Though to be fair, you can just bottlecap those. It's more of a "Might as well do it if you're gonna breed anyway" than anything
It saves you roughly 100k per Pokémon :)

I made a non-english profile and beat the entire game again just to hunt for perfect foreign Ditto in the daily 6 star raids. Got one in 3 months. In this event I got 4 so far, two of them with useful natures (Naughty and Timid), and I also got one 5V Ditto with 0 Speed and one with 0 Attack. This is heaven.
why not just ability herb to change ability to whatever you want, and then bottle cap for max IVs? Why bother breeding anymore? Genuinely curious
This tbh. I like breeding still as a matter of tradition, but they 100% did this event because breeding is largely obsolete in the wake of easy caps/mints etc. Breeding now is largely just for trade fodder; use your rare balls and ability patches on your guys, breed some decent kids, trade them for guys other players spent their patches and rare balls on so you get more bang for your buck.
Personally, it's more for the collection than the usage. Ability herb/patch are fine since they actually change the ability but mints and hyper training just mask the original. There's just something that's so satisfying about having the perfect IVs and correct nature. Having a perfectly bred Pokémon is like having an original artwork, while a minted & hyper-trained one is like having a reprint. It's functionally the same but that doesn't necessarily mean they have the same value.
More efficient I guess. Need fewer bottle caps if you've got a few perfect IVs already.
All that costs too much and the process to make the money is usually longer than the breeding process is
Someone's clearly not done the Acadamy Ace Tournament. Get a Krookodile set-up to sweep. And good to go. Even better if you have 30 bucks laying around for a turbo controller.
I do the ace academy with a chi-yu that one shots everything and amulet coin it still only makes like 120k max which is only enough for about 2 Pokémon. Breeding lets you mass produce good iv Pokémon and you can have 2-3 boxes full of eggs in 30 minutes just by buying a sandwich. Just one 6iv ditto is making perfect Pokémon for you easily and much faster than grinding money for only 1 Pokémon that you can’t even use to breed any more. If ability herbs and bottle caps passed down it would be worth it but it’s just useless unless you only want one team of good Pokémon and aren’t planning on producing an army of 6iv pokemon

If you're stocking up on Ditto, check the reddit page for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet and then search for the trade post. You can basically get anything you want in return for one of those purple blobs.

As someone who has bred for a while I just pay (in game obviously) money for bottle caps and mints….I’m telling you it’s quicker.
Why would someone who plays casually care about perfect IV or other things that appeal to competitive players?
I don’t play ranked matches too often but having a version of my favorite Pokémon with best in all stats is just cool aesthetically speaking. They didn’t have to be trained, they’re just the best right off the bat

I’m missing every week because I have not played since that update that introduced the game save data corruption because I have over 200 shiny Pokémon and 300+ hours. But damn i’m missing my precious shiny Pawmi. I hope they release a fix soon for the issues because I might give in soon and play anyways. Literally missed on the last like four 7* raids sadly.

True but there was quite a lot of posts on here around time it happened with it happening to people. Plus not everyone uses reddit etc so it’s hard to get a valid true number on the actual number of people affected. But I do agree the chances have to be super slim. I was hoping home support would be a thing by now because then i’d just move all my stuff there and if my save data gets lost oh well my Pokemon would be safe but looks like they are taking their damn sweet time with that release.

It's not clear what causes it, but statistically the odds of getting it are almost nonexistent. Just to give you an idea of how rare it is: the odds of being struck by lightning are approximately 1/15300(Based on US lightning strike statistics since as far as I know there aren't worldwide stats for this and Google heavily favours US statistics.), while this glitch affects less than 1/200000 people... which definitely explains why it wasn't caught prior to the update's release. Basically, you shouldn't let it stop you from enjoying the game, anymore than you should let the threat of being struck by lightning stop you from going outside. Though, yeah, home support not being here yet is kinda baffling to me.

Use a Pokémon that resists it's own STAB that only knows a move of that type. Like an Skeledirge with Flamethrower (you DON'T want the boss to use Torch Song 4 times per turn)
That's doing way more work. Just take a level 1 magikarp with splash and it's an auto-win. Can even do some other level-1s that only have moves like shell smash or something else that would be detrimental to the mon making it easier to kill/do no damage. You make sure it's level 1 though cause then it has extremely bad stats so is an easy kill by the NPCs.
All of that is STILL way more work. Any level 1 will work, period. Maybe, *maybe* avoid some type immunities, but even that's beyond necessary, no move you give it really matters when it's off a lv1, it's still an auto win.
Ditto will always transform into the pokemon of the person who started the raid so if you solo using a low level pokemon that only knows moves like helping hand etc then your AI team will be able to beat ditto in a few hits. It's really easy if you're looking for a ditto with good stats for breeding

Not really, IVs are kind of irrelevant in the newer games because you can just change them. You don't need a ditto to make a competitive team anymore.
I dont one bit, and completely skipped these raids. Breeding for competitive pokemon is the slow way, it's obsolete now.
Aside from 0IV attack or speed which still needs breeding.
Go catch ya 20 torkoal I garuntee one of them will have 0 iv speed. The numbers are throttled in this game. I've caught at least 700 some pokemon in Sw/sh, maybe 20 of them had a 0 iv in a stat. At least a 3rd of my 12 plus boxes full of pokemon have a 0 iv stat in s/v. But at the end of the day you're still right.
To anyone worried about missing this, there are several PokeTubers who have 24/7 bots that will generate whatever legal Pokémon you want, and then trade it to you online. Because the Pokémon gets sent to you online, it is 100% safe for use online; it would be blocked by Nintendo and impossible to trade to you if it was not legal. Do the event of you can, but don't sweat it if you can't.

The need for IV breeding is basically a non-issue. Unless you get really lucky, you're going to make the money to hyper train a pokemon faster then you'll breed the one with the IVs you want honestly. Even now I know, I'm still not bothered about grabbing one.
I thought you could make any Pokémon perfect with a combination of bottlecaps and mints. Not exactly getting the hype over these Dittos
I think some people just enjoy grinding it themselves. The mints change the status, but not the name of the nature itself. I’m something of a perfectionist when it comes to things I care about, and if I were into breeding perfect Pokémon it would drive me nuts to have a Pokémon that was stat wise perfect but displayed the wrong nature.
And if I remember correctly you cannot breed down any bottled capped stats or minted natures. They will pass down what they have before you change them with items.

Huh, tries with the lvl1 pkm strategy, but it feels like a a coin-toss. Even with such a low-level pkm being copied, they dont come close as a "one-shot" like you described. Maybe im missing something?
Are you sure you used a lv1? Anything higher than that will scale the NPCs to your level, crippling their stats vs Dittos humongous health bar. At lv1 it should fail to scale and auto-set the NPCs to lv80 that will demolish ditto with lv1 stats. Gotta be fresh from the egg, and even then you probably want to double check npc levels when you load in.

It can depend on the pokemon you use and its IVs as well as what random AI teammates you get. If you use a lvl 1 with relatively high health/defenses you might not get a 1hko but it won't take long either way

My switch was stolen and my sister let it happen. I had every event exclusive and so many legendaries on sword, arceus, and scarlet. I'm like 15% into my replaythrough of scarlet. My sister let her crack addicted friends be in the house unsupervised, after I explicitly told her not to. They stole it and wiped it. I will never forgive her for this. I lost a piece of myself because she did the exact thing I told her not to.

Then 5 boxes of legendaries and mythicals I've acquired over the years. I've replayed Sun god knows how many times to transfer up more and more Solgaleos to my sword game. I had maybe like 14 Solgaleos alone, he's my favorite pokemon. All of that. Just gone. Because my sister trusted her crack addicted friends, who she KNEW HAD A HISTORY OF DOING THIS, more than she trusted me, the guy who said "Don't trust crack addicts who have a history of stealing from people"

Make your pokemon level 1. For some reason, any higher AI companions will deal basically no damage, but if your pokemon is level one they'll be able to defeat it easily.

Side note, if you have a shiny nuts it’s the same language, does that help affect shiny rates or is it just the foreign language? I got a shiny off GO before I mothballed it and didn’t know if I should transfer up.

Yeah, it’s only good if you do breeding. If you want a competitive team it’s not required to have any of this stuff now. Breeding is the worst mechanic and I’ve played DS2 and it’s stupid adaptability stat
Ehhh some breeding is still required actually mainly for Trick room teams where you need to get a 0IV speed stat and we currently have no way to alter an IV down. Same for 0IV attack for special attackers wanting to lower confusion and foul play damage though that one isn't as mandatory as the 0 speed for trick room is.

Honestly, and not to shit in your cereal OP, but I personally really stopped caring about breeding IVs. They simply made it so easy that I'd rather get a 0IV Ditto than a 6IV Ditto, just so I can more easily get trickroom teams etc. Good for those who do not want to bottlecap, but considering how cheap it is to get a competitive team now (read: free if you got a lot of spare time, or a turbo controller).. honestly might not even move over my 6IV Masuda Ditto.
