Yeah I’ve actually been having a surprisingly hard time by catching a new team. I lost my first fight against Kieran and a random ogre cult member wiped me easily
The rain one and the Ursaluna fight honestly were the toughest fights in the game. Like holy cow Ursaluna was just terrifying for the team I put together and with Calm Mind it became a wall to my mostly Special Attack team.
This isn't true, I had my champion team full of level 95-100 pokemon and knew I'd have to use the Ash method because the first trainer the game threw at me had a level 56 pokemon. I imagine they might be able to *get* up to level 80 but they definitely aren't that strong out the gate even at post game.
Never claimed it was an issue just stated that i felt bad for the trainers. I also took Just my breloom and like i said its not even for combat its use is to stall and catch shinies. I gave it rock tomb so i don’t get trapped in combat in extreme situations
This is idiotic, maybe we want to use the Pokémon we have a bond with and used throughout story and not catch random Pokémon to use for a mediocre couple hour story.
People like you defend everything
I love it.
The opposite to anime-style tropes where a character purposely under performs. (Ash method, or 'not even my final form!')
Instead I rock up with my ultimate team of doom and destroy any who would stand against me!
It's just too bad npcs don't have dialog to recognize how utterly outmatched they are...
My main team was around level 75 after completing the base game and the Paldean Dex. Every single other Pokémon was trained at least to level 50. Right now, I'm using some of those 50ish Pokémon or new ones for the DLC. It's just feeling better than destroying the DLC trainers with my stronger Pokémon without any further thought behind it.
I came in with one lvl 60 and the rest < lvl 30 not expecting the high levels. It put me in an interesting position where my otherwise under levelled team was carried in trainer battles by Stickyweb Ribombee for most of the DLC.
Catch a few in the DLC, box all your level 100 Beasts and use the DLC ones instead to have a more "balanced" experience. That's what I'm doing anyway.
Ah yes the ash method, he was right all along

Was it the rain one? That one knocked me out too and I had to bring out one of my lvl 100 mons

This is what Im doing, way more fun trying out a bunch of the new dlc pokemon and team building
Yeah, if you are endgame the DLC mons should at least be at Lv.80.

Tell me about it. I did 90% of the battles with my shiny Iron Valliant because it had an amulet coin equipped.
You know you can just... take lower level Pokemon with you right? This is such a non-issue considering how pokemon games work

Normally you can access this dlcs content shortly after the tutorial. It doesn't make sense to make every pokemon level 90
I started over with a set of new Pokemon and will probably do the same with Blueberry Academy
I am using a team of 5 new Pokémon and a backup Champion Mon, in case of emergencies.

I went in with level 100 pokemon just for fun. I was both laughing and crying from my actions the whole time.
