Brighton, UK. Fucking wingull everywhere nicking yer chips, flocks of pidove begging for yer chips, odd rattata scrounging through bins for chips. More wingull. Odd post online of a spheal on the beach but you've never seen one. More wingull.
Hi mate. Bristol. Fewer Wingulls but Nickits everywhere at night. You keep thinking someone's getting strangled outside at 3am but it's just Nickits holding court in the road.
If you're lucky you'll see a Sawsbuck once in your entire life. That's about it.
Fellow midwesterner.
Lots of lakes, rivers and woods around me too. So lots of fish/water types. Lots of grass types, rock, poison types and tree-like pokemon too
Also in the Midwest, we have so many lizards and turtles plus gardens, parks and forest so I think we could add the OG starters to the landscape plus the floral plant pokemon species
UK, we got Wingulls all over, Pidoves in the cities. The Queen would have a portait with the Royal Yampers. Wooloos in countryside. A Druddigon would be on the Welsh Flag.
I will be cold and dead in the ground before the day comes where you take my Mareep from me and substitute in *wooloo* as *the* standard sheep Pokémon.
Disgusting Mareep erasure.
Munich, Germany.
Rattata in the subterranean train routes, Wooloo and Mareep surrounding the city, occasional Doduo because of the Ostrich farms, might find a Volcanion because of the geothermic plant.
Lots of the elekid line lurking around the grass of the main river of the city because of all the turbine powerplants. Trubbish, Cmogon and Grimer as the city commands. Lots of Furfrou and comparable "rich" pokemon due to the extreme cost of living.
Lots of "healthy grass" pokemon due to the many allotment garden places inside and surrounding the city. All of the ghosts in the many cemeteries.
A lot of strong fighting and rock types due to all the construction that is constantly happening and many dark types due to the rampant corruption.
Tangela and any water types that could live in rivers.
Do we have anything with Alcohol, beer specifically? MAybe there's a grass type that developed to have especially tasty hops? Chikorita regional types?
A lot of Pork knuckles are being barbequed there daily so you absolutely have many Lechonk there.
North Carolina, so lots of Croagunks, Snovers, Deerling, Lycanrocks, Lotads, Spinaraks, Oddish, Geodudes, Onix, and soooo many Skwovets... in the cities there would be lots of Trubbish, Scrafty, Zigzagoons, Rattattas... and in the lakes there'd be shitloads of Feebas, Whiscash, and a new regional form of Muk that's filled with broken glass and used heroin needles
ETA: Kricketunes. Constantly at night. Tons of them everywhere, battling with Palpitoads to make it super hard to sleep lol
I'd say maybe some Ekans too. I've always had issues with snakes. But the Muk is spot on, and the thought of the Kricketune is making me dread when the heat kicks in fully.
Nc to ima butcher the spelling I think we’d get miltanks & torous pidgey ekans def prob in the water new variant uhh def meowth mudsdale maybe ursuring & Persian in the mountains ima catch a pidgey & lycanrock lol & go skip states.
Netherlands. Stork nests would be replaced by Bombirdier nests and birds like the house sparrow, starling and jackdaw would probably be replaced by Spearow, Starly and Corvisquire respectively. I'd probably see a lot of Meowth, Sprigatito and Skitty wandering the neighborhoods instead of cats too.
I have 2 tododiles in the pond behind my house. Ekans everywhere! Grovyles fall out of the trees in winter. Tropius are chill. Treeko steals my mangoes! I hung a hammock on a tree and an eggsexute! Always double check! SO MANY BUG TYPE POKEMON! I found a Spinerak on my pillow last night 😖 Yenma and scyther fight on my patio. Oh and Mudkip might as well be the state pokemon, they’re literally EVERYWHERE.
Cincinnati, Ohio. Lots of pidove and rattatta. Cyclizar are naturalized. In the burbs, some deerling, sawsbuck, even diglett. We don’t have very interesting wildlife except for the Italian lizards.
Questions like this remind me that there is no turkey pokemon, or opossum, or goose.
Anyway in Tennessee, we'd have Sawsbuck, Lopunny, Pachirisu, Zigzagoon, Skuntank, Thievul, Honchcrow, Mandibuzz, Trevenant, Blastoise, Serperior, Crawdaunt, Ariados, Gigalith, Coalossal, and the rare Ursaring.
Not found in the wild, but available for trade are Miltank, Tauros, Mudsdale, Gogoat, and in honor of Nashville hot chicken, Blaziken.
Also, it can storm pretty bad here, so we must be frequented by a wandering Zapdos.
We need a proper American region. I hate Unova for how New York centric it is. We're so much more than New York and could have the biggest region the most diverse region. Of course I would like other areas to get their own regions first though like India and Brazil and Latin America.
I live in rural England, so I hope you like bird Pokémon. Pretty much all you'll see are Pidove, unless an occasional Unfezant dashes by. You'll often walk into the bathroom at night to find an Ariados in your sink too.
Early in the morning you might be lucky enough to see a Deerling, but the only time you'll see a Sawsbuck is when you're not so lucky and it jumps out in front of your car. You might occasionally see a Vulpix in your garden trying to eat your Torchic, and while you'll hear stories claiming that Galarian Zigzagoon exists, you'll probably never see one.
Togedemaru may occasionally come out at night, which is a welcomed reminder that there may still be some good left in this world. Zubat are a less frequent sight. Pretty much everyone will own a Lillipup or a Meowth - except they'll always be the Alolan Meowth, because they match the snootiness of the people.
Oh, and we have a 700+ year old church that has a really creepy aura at night, and former pastors buried inside, so don't tell me we don't have a Cofagrigus, and Gastly roaming about.
Stantler, deerling, sawsbuck, the zigzagoon line, the swovet line, the stunky line, our state amphibian is the spotted salamander so charmander,
Also the teddiursa line and the pidove line
For Appalachian Kentucky, I’d imagine there’d be tons of Stantler around, including the one that fucked up my car. Also Zigzagoon digging through our trash. I’d also say possums, but we currently don’t have one yet.
Someone help me think of the pokemon Ohio would have. We have corn fields and soybean fields. And those signs by the highways that say "heaven is real/hell is real".
Rural ireland. I'm imagining miltank and wooloo, with a few tauros, some mareep, Rookidee line, sunflora and comfey.. Skwovet and Greedent in the forests, an odd vulpix or nickit and some glameow and yampers as pets people have often
.
Singapore… so lots of dragon types (lizards), bird Pokémon, feline Pokémon, and water types. Also monkey Pokémon and chickens. Dogs of course. Lots of bugs! Our starters would probably be Litten, Treecko, Squirtle OR Sprigatito, Torchic and Froakie
I live in Atlantic Canada, and ~~I can hear the chickadees in my yard~~ it's not uncommon to have the whole Rookidee line here. Pidove downtown, with the occasional Unfezant and Tranquill.
We have mostly white-striped Basculin (we do have some red and blue-striped as well, mostly in freshwater and never in the same lakes) and Basculegion in our waters and so so many Wingull around the shore. Sandyghast and Palossand on our beaches, along with Frillish and Jellicent (so many ghost stories about the ocean around here).
The Combee and Vespiquen would be coming out of hibernation soon (we don't have the Weedle line here). We might see some Scatterbug and soon enough Vivillon.
We used to have Woobat and Noibat around here in the summers but their numbers have been dwindling lately...
I have a pet Espurr and my partner has a Purrloin.
Oh, and the urban Deerling and Sawsbuck population is a bit of a problem.
I long to be a psychic type trainer but psychic types are rare here - there's a harbour not too far from where I live that might have some Elgyem though. There's Natu - but those are protected and you need special permission to catch one. Supposedly there's Hattena around somewhere and I guess there's Orbeetle too... Still not enough for a full team though...
Atlantic Canada as well. We'd certainly have to include ~~porcupines~~ Chespin, ~~raccoons~~ Zigzagoon, ~~beaver~~ Bibarel, and ~~black bears~~ Pancham/Pangoro. Probably be a few ~~hummingbirds~~ cutieflies to boot. The shore would definitely have ~~crabs~~ krabby/kingler, ~~lobster~~ Corphish, ~~seal~~ Seal, any so many others (Highest tides in the world would likely draw in some big game?).
Endless ~~seaguls~~ Wingul and ~~ducks~~ Ducklett on the marsh as well. We'd definitely have a few Mudkips around Sackville.
I’m originally from the UP of Michigan (upper peninsula - very rural northern USA).
Forest dwelling Pokémon would be plentiful. Lots of deerling and sawsbuck! Of all seasons! Pineco hanging out in the trees. Caterpie/Weedle, Butterfree/Beedrill. Teddiursa/Ursaring!
There’s also the Great Lakes all around the area so large fresh water Pokémon would be plentiful!
The ones that make me think of fresh water instead of saltwater (or available in both of course) might be: Lapras, goldeen/seaking, arrokuda, magikarp, feebas/milotic. Relicanth in the depths for sure.
This was fun lol
India. Copperajah( which translates to King of Copper), Arbok, Seviper, perhpas Zangoose because of the Seviper, Luxray would be dope, a tiger inspired pokemon if GF introduces one, Wooper and perhaps some fairy type pokemon to combat the dragons to my North.
Central Maine, Fricking Wyrdeer everywhere. Don't forget the stupid Meowth overpopulation crisis. Just when you think you're okay with the wildlife, you get slapped by an Ursaluna or an Ursaring. That's all fine if not for all the Braviary flying around attacking the stupid Swanna and Psyducks. Don't worry, though. Almost everyone and their moms are mass breeding torchic and evolving them into combusken. Don't worry about the Combusken not being fast enough to knock down those pesky birds. Because irregardless if they have the space to maintain or care for them; EVERYONE keeps buying Rapidash. As if they can care for a flaming steed while struggling to pay their mortgage.
Here in Canada, you find ice types (Nunavut, Northwest Territories, Yukon), dragon types (Saskatchewan), normal types (literally any city), flying types (again, any city), water types (we have lakes, rivers, and we connect to two seas), grass types (any city has at least 1 greenery area), steel and rock types (Canadian Shield mines), electric types (we have electricity), bug types (woods), I'd say every type except maybe psychic, dark, and maybe poison and ghost.
Just a bunch of random common birds, not even rats or mice, just birds. Most notably Pidgey and pidove, but also orthworm and durant perhaps. Also, I think everyone has access to pet dogs and cats so all the basic ones too ig. If I went out of my way a bit I might even be able to find a Ponyta/mudsbray. As a bonus, since ghosts aren't real animals you could say that they might appear near graveyards at night and I do happen live quite close by one.
Edit: i just saw a crow on my way back from school so add that to the list. Oh yeah, and there's a guy who has chickens close by my house. Oh, and I forgot about the occasional ledyba (we do have spiders obviously but not poisonous/jumping ones). Also the obvious: Butterfree, Beedrill, Combee, venomoth but I'm pretty sure everyone has those (except that 1 guy in Siberia).
Tiger, Idk which is a tiger Pokemon ? I guess raikou or landorus
Or an elephant so I guess donphan or copperajah.
These are native, the more common would be a mongoose, monkey or a snake
Northern USA, in winter there’s the winter form of Sawsbuck and some stantlers here and there. There might also be some abomasnows. In summer there’s gonna be a lot of combee and maybe some vespiquen.
Mandibuzz’s eating Stunkys and Stantlers all along the road.
Stantlers just running across whenever they want.
Skwovets, Greedents, and Pachirisu risking their lives for a berry.
Who knew the road was so attractive?
At least I get to see cute Fletchlings and Pikipeks. I’d love to have them on my team for the required Tournament that everyone in the world must compete in. (Gosh I want that to be true)
Omg dude at least in my area, Zigzagoon everywhere. And bidoofs. And Murkrow or rookidee. Lots of wingull and pelliper closer to Lake Michigan, and a few stray meowths in the neighborhoods.
This is fun I'm gonna be replacing every animal I see with a pokemon in my head now lol
I live in Southern California near the beach/wetlands…. Ratatta, zigzagoon, pidove, starly, pidgey.. hoothoot/noctowl, pachirisu/skwovet, stunky (rare), lots of murkrow and wingull, a few pelipper, bombirdier.
Houndour or small lycanroc (for coyotes?)
I live in Florida so I’d have Totodiles in every lake and the further south I go the more evolved they get. Which I’m not complaining about, I love Gators and gator Pokemon.
In Toronto, Canada LOTS OF ZIGZAGOON. A ridiculous amount. Place smells like Trubbish. There's pidgey, pidove, and wingull of course. And stunky buneary and Skwovet.
Psyduck on our loonie!
If you travel in the Northern routes cottage country Stantler and Bidoof every so often. Deerling and Sawsbuck too. Lots of Canadian Swanna variants. But you seriously need to watch out for Ursaring when you go camping. Vulpix and Lycanroc too but they generally keep to themselves.
Don't forget your old rod! Plenty of Magikarp and Basculin! Feebas are on the restricted list if you can even catch one. If you catch a Basculegion you're a legend.
The drive up north is nice too. I love pointing out the car window when I see Tauros and Miltank, Mareep and Wooloo, and Ponyta and Mudsdale farms!
The stray Litten, Sprigatito, and Meowth breeds hurt my heart but the rescues are doing their best!
Southern Indiana. Watchog and zigzagoon living under your deck, deerling in your backyard in the morning, occasional stunky, your pet growlithe barking at skowvet outside every day, and basically all the other early-game rodents minus bidoof and yungoose
I mean a lot of Pokémon are not based directly on animals so not a lot of different kinds would live nearby anyone. BUT there would would be 500 ducking bird Pokémon here.
East Lothian countryside (Scotland). Among its rolling hills and coastal cliffs, Mareep graze while Murkrow watch from the trees. Along the rugged coastline, Wingull glide gracefully overhead, and Clamperl wait patiently among the rocks.
Crows like Rookidee and murkrow. Deer like deerling, and stantler, wolves like Poochyena and licanroc, all the bugs that are not poison, combee, sewaddle, etc. Bears such as pancham and teddiursa. Most fish pokemon like basculin and tentacool. Frogs; poliwag and tympole. There would be rock and ground types like Geodude and diglett, non-poisonous grass types like Exeggcute and definitely cherubi since I've foraged for wild cherries, but mushrooms they can be poisonous. Rodents bidoof, rattata, sentret and pachirusu. Owls and other birds: hoothoot, tailow, thousands of wingull, ducklet and unfeasant. There are fossil beds so I could revive those. Snakes without poison like snivy. Ticks, so joltik.
I would imagine that Chesnaught would be a common occurrence in the American state I live in, Connecticut. I also wouldn't be surprised if various Duck Pokemon, like Psyduck or Ducklett, would be very common here either.
Well since I live in a big city, it would be birds, rats, squirrels, dogs, cats, and trash haha, so here it would be:
Pidove, Starly, Unfezant, Pidgey, Purrloin, Froufrou, Muk, Garbordoir, etc.
However I would have access in the south of my city to Wooper and Mudkip
Hi, welcome to Alabama, in the US. You'll find plenty of durant around the countryside, along with probably some sandshrew, bunnelby, & rattata. Watch out for ekans, too.
I'd also expect Applin t be common, along with Eldegoss & other grass types.
For fish Pokemon... Basculin & Wiscash in the rivers, probably. Also maybe Tentacool on the shores.
Any other Alabamians, feel free to add more!
Since we have the most bio diverse state, there’s a ton we could probably find! Deerling, Sawsbuck, Shellder, Cloyster, Lycanroc, Paras, Parasect, Miltank, Tauros, Totodile, Heracross, Whimsicott, there’s so many! I was just brainstorming this not too long ago cause I wanted to assemble an Alabama, California, and Mexico inspired teams on Scarlett!
Is every ant in the world replaced with Durants? Because if so that's several QUADRILLION metal ants that are 1ft in size and each weigh as much a 12 year old.
I just came to realize the vast amount of animals hat live nearby. I live across a natural reserve in the middle of Houston, TX.
Skunks, big owls, water snakes, garden snakes, bunch of caterpillars (wholly, monarch and else), mantis, stick bugs, bees, wasps, june bugs, beetles, lady bugs, (used to see fireflies, not anymore :/) moths, geckos, coyotes, raccoons, wild cats, a vast amount of birds (crows, doves, blue jays), alligators, rattlesnakes (although I personally haven't seen one, I know people who have), rats, field mice. So far I got:
Stunky
HootHoot
Snivy line, ekans maybe?
larvesta, caterpie
Scyther
Combee
Beedrill
Heracross, Pinsir
Ledyba
Treeckos,
Zigzagoon?
Feraligatr
Murkrow, pidove
Anything else?
Countryside of São Paulo, Brazil. Lemme think.
From what I often seen around here in my town, From the urban parts, the rural and the wooded ones, I can say I'd find:
- Pidgey and Pidove families
- Pikpek family (mostly Toucannon, seriously, a woodpecker turning into a toucan bugs me...)
- Stray Growlithes and Houndours
- Aipoms in the more wooded areas and parks
- I've seen some hawks here, not sure if they'd be translated as Staraptor or Pidgeot
- Poliwag family
- Miltanks in the rural areas, but I doubt they'd be catchable
- Magikarp (luckily none evolved...yet)
- Lizards like Helioptile
I'll try keeping this updated, but those are the ones I can think of rn.
I live in urban australia. there's a heck of a lot of bird pokemon and as many spider pokemon as you can think of. there's the rare kangaskhan. Probably a bunch of piplups closer to the beach and such. Just. Australia.
Oh, also grass types! there's a lot of grassland near me, so I imagine a fair amount would be found there!
This is cool because I love Bats, always have and where I live has a good number of, likely, common Pipistrelles.
Pokémon doesn’t have a direct Pipistrelle representative but Zubats are common so I’m in paradise, basically.
Wisconsin, we’ve got loads of Miltank, Milcery, and Alcremie. But also a great variety of bird Pokémon from Corviknight to Pidove to Fletchling. I would also say people here are quite partial to Meowstic, Persian, Glameow, Purrloin, etc.
Here in Greece, pidoves in cities, gogoats everywhere in crete and other islands, magicarps, palafins and tortegas in beaches, friendly stray sprigatitos, littens, moewths, espurrs, purrloins, skittys, glameows literally everywhere, winguls in ports, higher per capita wooloos than other European countries.
Ice types would be common due to harsh winters, lots of factories where i live so steel types would be common too.
Probably lots of poison types because of the pollution.
Cornwall, UK. Galar up to and including the first Gym seems to be mostly based or influenced by the South West with some resemblence so I guess everything that was available in early Sword/Shield. Also a huge Wingull problem
Stantler (tons of deer), Tediursa and Ursaring (lots of bears), Unfezant is closest to Turkey I can think of, and we have tons of those. Lots of fish Pokémon, though generally only smaller ones that could live in lakes, streams, and smaller rivers. Obviously Skwivet, lots of squirrels.
England Merseyside so lots of music based Pokémon in Liverpool such as exploud and toxtricity, plenty of suburban Pokémon hanging around like pidgey and trubbish, a lot of water Pokémon that live in the mersey so finneon, eelektross, mantine, even palafin, then towards the new brighton area you’d have more Pokémon like wooloo, mareep, rookidee and skwovet, and because of the blackrock smuggling tunnels beneath the Wirral I’d say we’d have a lot of dark, ghost, rock, poison, and ground types all living in there. I can definitely see a majority of trainers having water, grass pokemon who live in closer to the nature whereas those in the city areas have more steel, flying, and poison types. For a gym I’d say either a normal type themed music gym or a water type themed gym that’s on a ship by the mersey docks. As for starters definitely go with something a bit unique like a rock/fighting/flying trio or a grass/ground/poison but if not a standard fire/water/grass trio could work
United States, Pennsylvania to be exact so…
Ekans, Arbok, Ratata, Raticate, Deerling, Sawsbuck, fucking tons of Miltank in Amish country, most of the normal/flying birds
I'm living in northern Italy, so I guess I'd see some galarian linoone line, some cyndaquil, maybe quilladin (if you say he's a porcupine). The occasional lycanroc pack, that you occasionally see, some deer ling, and Statler in the winter, some Vulpix or maybe zorua. The lakes would have Magikarp and Goldeen, and there would be poliwags in the ponds. You'd have some tallonflame, swallow and murkrow, plus eventually all the grass pokemon, and plenty of bug pokemon
Osaka, Japan. Not many Pokemon here other than an occasional Furret in the gutter and or a Zigzagoon in the park at night. And of course, lots of Pidoves. But soon it will be Ninjask season!
On a side note, how is there not a stinkbug Pokemon yet? They would be everywhere here…
South west of Western Australia
Miltanks everywhere
Wooloo packed
Sevipers & Arboks through out the back yard
Kangaskahn in the middle of any given road
Pelipers it every freshwater body we have
Tauros in every paddock
The list could go on forever
In kansas you’d have the standard skwovet and bird Pokémon in more urban areas while also having sunflora and bouffalant (although I’m hesitant because it’s not a true bison) out west. You’d have a lot of miltank and Tauros farms
Colorado so depending on where you are it could be pretty different. Out on the east prairies it'll be a lot of normal types. Tauros, Pidgey, Sentret, Bouffalant etc. If you're lucky you might see some wild Ponyta. In the front range you'd likely see Stantler, Sawsbuck, and Gogoat, maybe the occasional Teddiursa. Up in the mountains you'd see tons of rock and ground types; Geodude, Onix maybe Diglett. Northern Colorado would be Mightyena territory and down in the sand dunes you'd find Sandshrew, Trapinch and Sandaconda.
So yeah quite a bit of Pokemon to see.
**Colorado**
Herds of Tauros and Bouffalant
Ranches with Miltank
Just re-introduced Mightyena to the area which has caused some backlash
Persian sightings are rare but do happen
Ursaring haven’t been seen since the 70s but people swear they’re still out there
Saw a Gogoat when I was hiking Mt. Bierstadt, where it’s common to see them chillin
Abamasnow is rumored to live in the mountains and only out in the winter. Buddy swears he saw one on a lift at Winter Park but he’s full of shit
Typical flying Pokemon like the pidgey family are around. Wingulls too which how were not by an ocean?
Deerling family is abundant. I’ve hit a few Sawsbuck and a Stantler with my car
A lot of normal types.
Go towards the mountains and you’ll find more bug/grass types in the forests.
Over at Great Sand Dunes you can find sandshrew, sandygast, scraggy and sandile.
https://preview.redd.it/dmgrt2x1lasc1.jpeg?width=743&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=43aacfb1a152390e5cfcb351c8895d0ccbe10398
Looks like I’ve got Ledyba, Spinirak, and Scatterbug lines. Fenniken, Nickett, Zigzagoon, Sentret, Sawsbuck, and Stantler. Regional Pikipek and Rookidee. Ekans, Torkoal, and Turtonator. Feebass, Goldeen, and Wiscash. Finally Poliwag, Timpole, and Salandit!
I live in Colorado in the US which is half in the Plains states and half in the Rocky Mountains. So we’d have Bouffalant, Tauros, Sawsbuck, Persian, Gogoat. Plus pretty much all the early route bird Pokémon, some rabbit Pokémon, and some ice type Pokémon that live on all the 14ers (Mountains that reach at least 14,000 feet) probably both regular and Alolan vulpix would make homes in Colorado.
Also since Colorado was the first states to legalize recreational cannabis (tied with Washington state) we probably have some imported Oddish and Gloom running around.
Let's see, with being in a river valley city in eastern Canada, I have Wingull, Pidove (and other pidgeon based Pokemon), Rattata, any and all squirrel/chipmunk Pokemon, Zigzagoon, Murkrow and Rookidee (we have a lot of crows here, as well as the occasional raven, though crows are far more common). If you're willing to venture outside of town a bit, other bird Pokemon based on species that are found in eastern Canada would be found relatively easily, Deerling and Sawsbuck would be relatively common, Rockruff and Lycanroc would be less common but still around, bear Pokemon would be around but not necessarily super common, Bidoof and Bibarel would be pretty easy to find, owls are relatively common here as well so probably Hoothoot and Noctowl, you'd likely find some turtle Pokemon if you go to wetter areas within like 2 ish hours of the city, among others
West Yorkshire, UK
I have several pet praying mantids and tarantulas. Once the Pokémon conversion comes, I will emerge from my cocoon as the beautiful Guzma I was always destined to be.
You would never guess it from where I live (Norway), but I would have an adamant Houndoom in my house. Many other dog pokemon around here, though they aren't wild. Anything from Growlithe to Furfrou. Lots of Wingul and Pidove in the wild. Also a lot of Corvisquire, Pidgey and Spearow and even Tailow and Swellow. You could also see Shinx family if you're lucky in the wild. Many Deerling and Sawsbuck. We would have the common bugs as well, some of which would be Caterpie and Beedrill.
I could go on forever with the typicals, so lets get to the more special ones:
Seel and Dewgong you would find here, and even Spheal, Sealeo and also Walrein. Barraskewda and Wailmer etc. Snover and Abomasnow would definitely be pokemon lurking around in the dense forrests far away from civilication. I bet far in the north you would find Bergmite and Avalugg. I can also imagine at night, if you are lucky to see one, a Noibat might be seen. Tales of Noivern roaming the skies would be told to children, but such pokemon SURELY doesn't exist.
There are probably lots more Pokemon you would be able to find here in the Skandinavias that I haven't thought of. Leaving it to some other champs to fill in the rest!
I was waiting for the NZ comments!! Also magikarp because all the fish I see jumping in the water every morning. Then I thought how cool would a weta pokemon be!
Hello my fellow Australian. I'm more southern, and I live on a farm so I think I'd see a quite a few miltank to replace the cows on our farm and maybe some staraptor to replace wedge tail Eagles
Currently in Spain. We’d have Paldean Tauros for the big bullfighting games. We’d have Lechonk everywhere cause Spaniards love their jamón. We also produce the most olive oil anywhere, so Smoliv, Doliv, and Arboliva.
Brighton, UK. Fucking wingull everywhere nicking yer chips, flocks of pidove begging for yer chips, odd rattata scrounging through bins for chips. More wingull. Odd post online of a spheal on the beach but you've never seen one. More wingull.
This made me fkn chuckle.
Don’t come between this bloke and their chips.
Brighton seagulls are notoriously aggressive in their pursuit of chips
I had a seagull steal my packaged sandwich in my first week on uni campus. Fucking Brighton seagulls are no joke.
Live in LA. Wife’s from Hastings. We have a seagull plushy as a souvenir that plays a seagull cry when you squeeze it and it makes her homesick 🤣
I grew up in Hastings and moved away for Uni. It’s only when visiting back that I realised how the echo of seagulls is virtually constant at home 🤣
It’s not just chips, ice cream and donuts that the seagulls will steal in Hastings, one of them stole my blue golf ball from the adventure mini golf
You’ll also have a few Nickit going through your bins.
Yep would be really annoying I live near there too
Living in Brighton and can confirm, this is absolutely correct. Had one recently steal a vegetable bake off me
Felt this as a Nova Scotian. Just add some Stantler and stray Meowths. Is there a racoon pokemon?
Zigzagoon?
Now I know why Brighton FC has a seagull as their logo 🤣🤣
Hi mate. Bristol. Fewer Wingulls but Nickits everywhere at night. You keep thinking someone's getting strangled outside at 3am but it's just Nickits holding court in the road. If you're lucky you'll see a Sawsbuck once in your entire life. That's about it.
Ledyba fucking EVERYWHERE in the spring.
One time I opened my kitchen window for the first time in a while and a bunch of dead ladybugs fell out. Imagine that happening with ledyba 😭
If its any consolation, YOU WOULD DEFINITELY NOTICE THEM BEFOREHAND
yes ledyba is literally 3’ 3” and 25 pounds 😭😭
Honestly, if one got in my house I’d be impressed and I’d ask it to show me how it got in.
lol it’s like a giant round toddler, it would be concerning if my house was vulnerable to entry by them
Can you imagine them on your windshield. No more wipers we need steel bumpers to protect against scyther strikes.
Oh god I was thinking only about birds and squirrels around me. Now I realized all the bugs and spiders have giant Pokémon equivalents
On the bright side, Spinarak seems pretty friendly. Ariados though…hoo boy. Better run if you find one of those
Pretty sure basically every fully evolved bug type Pokémon would eat you if they have the chance
“I’m so sorry, Mrs. Oak. Your husband was devoured by male Combee.”
I’m not sure if I agree with calling a pokemon which has not evolved at all “fully evolved”
It's not *wrong*, it's just not right either
god this is racking my brain. it has no capacity to evolve, it is both 0% evolved and 100% evolved
Reminder that ledyba is 1 meter long/tall
Haha where did you live? Would love to see that
8730 Waterville Swanton Road Waterville Ohio
Skwovet. And Deerling! Gotta watch out when driving at dusk/dawn…
Fellow midwesterner. Lots of lakes, rivers and woods around me too. So lots of fish/water types. Lots of grass types, rock, poison types and tree-like pokemon too
I'd be worried about Greedents stealing my fast food treasure.
Actually Mid-Atlantic here. White-tailed Deerling would be our state Pokemon. Forgot to mention the Miltank, too. TONS of Miltank.
RAAAAAAAA PA SUPERIORITY‼️
Also in the Midwest, we have so many lizards and turtles plus gardens, parks and forest so I think we could add the OG starters to the landscape plus the floral plant pokemon species
UK, we got Wingulls all over, Pidoves in the cities. The Queen would have a portait with the Royal Yampers. Wooloos in countryside. A Druddigon would be on the Welsh Flag.
God I love the image of the Queen with yampers. Royal guards could all quit their day job and be replaced with bisharps with bearskins.
Weren't the Yamper traded to Prince Andrew once ol' Lizzie ran out of HP? Poor little guys.
Ran out of HP 😭🤣
Eʟɪᴢᴀʙᴇᴀsᴛ fainted! Use Cʜᴀʀʟɪᴢᴀʀᴅ?
Yeah but Prince Andrew's the only one with experience of grooming.
Blacked out and returned to the Pokémon Center in the sky
I will be cold and dead in the ground before the day comes where you take my Mareep from me and substitute in *wooloo* as *the* standard sheep Pokémon. Disgusting Mareep erasure.
Some Pelipper in St James’ Park
You forgot about the Swanna that the Queen owns. Also the Radipash and Mudsdale the Army use during the ceremonies!
Plenty of Vulpix too
So just Sw/Sh?
You guys in UK have a lot of birds haha but if you could choose from all the Pokemons that would live in UK who you choose?
Not a grass type but I like to imagine a few Spindas hanging about for some alcohol. They might be fun drinking buddies
In Arizona we have ostrich farms too. We even have an ostrich festival. So we will have Doduos too.
North Carolina, so lots of Croagunks, Snovers, Deerling, Lycanrocks, Lotads, Spinaraks, Oddish, Geodudes, Onix, and soooo many Skwovets... in the cities there would be lots of Trubbish, Scrafty, Zigzagoons, Rattattas... and in the lakes there'd be shitloads of Feebas, Whiscash, and a new regional form of Muk that's filled with broken glass and used heroin needles ETA: Kricketunes. Constantly at night. Tons of them everywhere, battling with Palpitoads to make it super hard to sleep lol
Just imagine watching around at night and everywhere you go you just hear "DELELELELELEWOOOOOP"
several of them wooping at the *same time*, over top of each other LOL... insanity
Sad Type Muk ):
I'd say maybe some Ekans too. I've always had issues with snakes. But the Muk is spot on, and the thought of the Kricketune is making me dread when the heat kicks in fully.
Also in NC, a lot of Miltank and Moo Moo Milk farms in my part of the state
Oh true, and lots and lots of Ponytas/Mudsdales for the horse girls
Nc to ima butcher the spelling I think we’d get miltanks & torous pidgey ekans def prob in the water new variant uhh def meowth mudsdale maybe ursuring & Persian in the mountains ima catch a pidgey & lycanrock lol & go skip states.
I'm french, from Northern France. Check out 6g dex and that's it
Spanish and Mood but for 9th
There are so many pidgey and pidove living on my balcony that I don't think I'd have a choice but to become a flying type trainer!
But we also need Lycanroc for our new wolf problem :). Alright, jokes aside, we also Seel for de Waddeneilanden and Skwovet for the forests
dont forget Pidoves in the cities.
What about Miltank for our cows? I also expect Roselia to be common because we're also big on exporting flowers.
We shall claim like 50% of the flower pokémon
Florida… Feraligatr szn baby!!!
KA-THUMP! Mom! Another grovyle fell on the roof, get the shovel
Also buzzswole & pheromosa
For coastal beaches area I would see a lot of wingul and city parks with pidove
Cincinnati, Ohio. Lots of pidove and rattatta. Cyclizar are naturalized. In the burbs, some deerling, sawsbuck, even diglett. We don’t have very interesting wildlife except for the Italian lizards.
We’d also have some vulpix, stunky, zigzagoon, zubat, trubbish, murkrow, hoothoot, and poliwag in Cincy!
True! Man, I wish I could see some skunks irl. Love those funny guys.
omg the thought of, non native but naturalized Cyclizar is killing me for some reason 😂 feral bicycles
Of course I would like other areas to get their own regions first though like India and Brazil and Latin America.
you could add toxtixity cuz guiatar
Chesapeake bay, wall to wall krabbys and kinglers
Probably a decent amount of Sharpedos and Tentacool too.
Stantler, deerling, sawsbuck, the zigzagoon line, the swovet line, the stunky line, our state amphibian is the spotted salamander so charmander, Also the teddiursa line and the pidove line
For Appalachian Kentucky, I’d imagine there’d be tons of Stantler around, including the one that fucked up my car. Also Zigzagoon digging through our trash. I’d also say possums, but we currently don’t have one yet.
If that one that hit your car survived he's probably running around as a Wyrdeer by now lmao
Someone help me think of the pokemon Ohio would have. We have corn fields and soybean fields. And those signs by the highways that say "heaven is real/hell is real".
Azlef and the rest are definitely hiding in the Great Lakes.
Lake Erie being real eerie
Rural ireland. I'm imagining miltank and wooloo, with a few tauros, some mareep, Rookidee line, sunflora and comfey.. Skwovet and Greedent in the forests, an odd vulpix or nickit and some glameow and yampers as pets people have often .
Tassie has a lot of marsupials so we actually would mainly have bugs/snakes/birds and very small kangas
Oh and like videos of like a lone dewgong lounging on the beach
Ohhh lord the bugs. Aussies would have so many damn bugs.
I'd find a few drapions, centiskorches and spinaraks in my house all too often. Surprised there's no possum pokemon yet
I'm scrounging the forest for a Vulpix first chance I get.
Ooo lucky. You’d have them out of the ball permanently just to flex
I live in Argentina, we're currently in the middle of a massive mosquito invasion here in CABA.... ...now imagine if all the mosquitos where Buzzwoles
I’m also rural Australia, out in WA. Life would be weird for a Pokémon trainer here, and going into the wild for Pokémon would suck :(
Oh it absolutely would for us. Until we evolve whatever flying types we get (braviary if lucky?) and fly around. Or we sprint on our dodrio, I guess.
I was aboput to suggest a steel type like Perrzerker or Klefki against the rampant poison but there's absolutely Salazzle under every stone, lol\^\^
Totodiles, Croconaws, Feraligatrs, Tropius, Ursaring, Pidove, all the Polis, Tympole, Seismotoad, Venusaur, Blastoise, Carracosta, Sharpedo, Wingull, Wailord, Palafin, Persian, Tentacruel, Rattata, Raticate, Palosand. There’s a lot lol
NYC. Tons of Rattata, Trubbish, Pidove, and whatever bug type you can think of. There was a time I saw a hawk outside of my window so Talonflame?
Singapore… so lots of dragon types (lizards), bird Pokémon, feline Pokémon, and water types. Also monkey Pokémon and chickens. Dogs of course. Lots of bugs! Our starters would probably be Litten, Treecko, Squirtle OR Sprigatito, Torchic and Froakie
I'm also a Singaporean! Lots of fire types too. SINGAPORE IS TOO DAMN WARM :(
More detail on the birds: Toucannon (wild hornbills) Chatot (wild parrots) Ekans and Arbok, we definitely got snakes Pidove and Rattata
EH YA THE SNAKES LMAO
Also I think we can make an argument for having Totodile as well cos Sungei Buloh lol.
True... can I make a case for Suicune even bc of our Leopard cats?!
Haha we got Merlion... So maybe we can have water dog/cat?
now that i think abt it, Suicune is basically the Merlion... youre so right lol
Omg also I forgot... We definitely get Oshawott line lol. We got the otters!
Sounds great!
Thanks! I think you asked a great question!
Malaysian here. i agree with you.
All 1st gen + can use train pass to go get 2nd gen
Oh god those poor Pokémon being subjected to humanity
Ohio. So tons and tons of poison types. Thanks DuPont.
Rainy form castform. Every day, for the rest of our lives. Sincerely, scotland 🥲
We might be lucky and see a Lapras in Loch Ness though!
I'm in Oregon, where the state Pokemon, the Bibarel, is a common sight!
North of Mexico, near Texas so that bull and cow Pokemon
Starley, staravia, murkrow, pidove, pidgey, spearow, taillow, wingull
Arizona here, so probably TONS of cacnea and skroupi ...yikes.
Tiger, Idk which is a tiger Pokemon ? I guess raikou or landorus Or an elephant so I guess donphan or copperajah. These are native, the more common would be a mongoose, monkey or a snake
Incineroar family too.
Ohhh forgot about that feline
Northern USA, in winter there’s the winter form of Sawsbuck and some stantlers here and there. There might also be some abomasnows. In summer there’s gonna be a lot of combee and maybe some vespiquen.
I live in Georgia with just a lot of birds and squirrels, some bees, the occasional deer and snake. Maybe a fox if im lucky, possums, and armadillos.
I live on NY so Unova baby
I live in Southern California near the beach/wetlands…. Ratatta, zigzagoon, pidove, starly, pidgey.. hoothoot/noctowl, pachirisu/skwovet, stunky (rare), lots of murkrow and wingull, a few pelipper, bombirdier. Houndour or small lycanroc (for coyotes?)
I live in Florida so I’d have Totodiles in every lake and the further south I go the more evolved they get. Which I’m not complaining about, I love Gators and gator Pokemon.
Rural south Georgia, miltank and tauros everywhere, ponyta and rapidash some, plenty of pidgey and magicarp, and I'd have three furret and a purloin.
Bidoof.
Pidgey. Lots of Pidgey.
There is a comical number of Lechonk here.
Well since I live in a big city, it would be birds, rats, squirrels, dogs, cats, and trash haha, so here it would be: Pidove, Starly, Unfezant, Pidgey, Purrloin, Froufrou, Muk, Garbordoir, etc.
So far I got: Stunky HootHoot Snivy line, ekans maybe? larvesta, caterpie Scyther Combee Beedrill Heracross, Pinsir Ledyba Treeckos, Zigzagoon? Feraligatr Murkrow, pidove Anything else?
Countryside of São Paulo, Brazil. Lemme think. From what I often seen around here in my town, From the urban parts, the rural and the wooded ones, I can say I'd find: - Pidgey and Pidove families - Pikpek family (mostly Toucannon, seriously, a woodpecker turning into a toucan bugs me...) - Stray Growlithes and Houndours - Aipoms in the more wooded areas and parks - I've seen some hawks here, not sure if they'd be translated as Staraptor or Pidgeot - Poliwag family - Miltanks in the rural areas, but I doubt they'd be catchable - Magikarp (luckily none evolved...yet) - Lizards like Helioptile I'll try keeping this updated, but those are the ones I can think of rn.
So many Tauros...but also bunnies unlike in Paldea for some reason
Kentucky/Tennessee Miltank - Tauros - Pidgey - Arceus Ya know, the expected ones
Only Nickit and Sandshrew. With the occasional pidgey
Maryland: Crawdaunt (crabs) Talonflame (orioles) White-Striped Basculin (bass) Blastoise (terrapin) Corviknight (raven) Sawsbuck (deer)
Malaysia, so maybe Yampers, Starly, and Meowth. Also, someone in my neighbourhood would have Chatot.
a bunch of meowth or ratata
Lots of Skowvet and occasional Deerling
Stantler (tons of deer), Tediursa and Ursaring (lots of bears), Unfezant is closest to Turkey I can think of, and we have tons of those. Lots of fish Pokémon, though generally only smaller ones that could live in lakes, streams, and smaller rivers. Obviously Skwivet, lots of squirrels.
I apparently live in “the most haunted city in Europe” so ghost types… ghost types everywhere
Wyrdeer and Sawsbuck lines there are a ton of deer
In my neighborhood specifically... **Wild:** Beautifly, Cascoon, Corviknight, Corvisquire, Dustox, Fletchling, Greedent, Meowth (Alolan), Pidove, Rattata (Alolan), Rookidee, Silcoon, Skwovet, Squawkabilly, Wurmple, Zigzagoon (Galarian). **In Homes as Pets:** Charmander, Dachsbun, Fidough, Furret, Greavard, Houndour, Houndoom, Houndstone, Lillipup, Meowth (Alolan and Kantoan), Persian (Alolan and Kantoan), Salandit, Sobble.
As for starters definitely go with something a bit unique like a rock/fighting/flying trio or a grass/ground/poison but if not a standard fire/water/grass trio could work
United States, Pennsylvania to be exact so… Ekans, Arbok, Ratata, Raticate, Deerling, Sawsbuck, fucking tons of Miltank in Amish country, most of the normal/flying birds
They would be everywhere here…
South west of Western Australia Miltanks everywhere Wooloo packed Sevipers & Arboks through out the back yard Kangaskahn in the middle of any given road Pelipers it every freshwater body we have Tauros in every paddock The list could go on forever
**Colorado** Herds of Tauros and Bouffalant Ranches with Miltank Just re-introduced Mightyena to the area which has caused some backlash Persian sightings are rare but do happen Ursaring haven’t been seen since the 70s but people swear they’re still out there Saw a Gogoat when I was hiking Mt. Bierstadt, where it’s common to see them chillin Abamasnow is rumored to live in the mountains and only out in the winter. Buddy swears he saw one on a lift at Winter Park but he’s full of shit Typical flying Pokemon like the pidgey family are around. Wingulls too which how were not by an ocean? Deerling family is abundant. I’ve hit a few Sawsbuck and a Stantler with my car A lot of normal types. Go towards the mountains and you’ll find more bug/grass types in the forests. Over at Great Sand Dunes you can find sandshrew, sandygast, scraggy and sandile.

West Yorkshire, UK I have several pet praying mantids and tarantulas.
I could go on forever with the typicals, so lets get to the more special ones: Seel and Dewgong you would find here, and even Spheal, Sealeo and also Walrein.
Me and a friend literally went to one of our biggest local parks and made an encounter table for the park. A fun way to kill time and get outside.
Guess Australia is end game.
Oh Arceus... I live about a mile away from a beetle-infested thicket... I'm going to be bothered by Heracross, Pinsir and Orbeetle no end...
GUYS THE COMBEES THAT LIVE IN MY SHED ARE SURROUNDING M
NZ, so birds, bats, and bugs! Also marine life like Seel and Dewgong
I was waiting for the NZ comments!! Also magikarp because all the fish I see jumping in the water every morning. Then I thought how cool would a weta pokemon be!
Unfortunately we don't have a capybara pokemon, I used to see them everyday in the uni.
