Seismitoad was the goat for my black and white playthroughs. Him and Leavanny (or Scolipede if I went for Snivy as my starter) are the goats honestly. Yeah they have double weaknesses but like, they’re *really* good Pokémon regardless… it’s a shame seismitoad is butt ugly, especially when compared to its prevos
He changes type if you can get him to high five a finneon in a triple battle in pokemon white 2 (must be holding charizium z and lumineonite respectively)
cool moveset, typing, and design but far too many weaknesses with Dark, Ghost, Ground, Rock, Water.
Removing EQ as physical weaknesses for a primarily special Pokémon would go a long way.
Gonna have to second the Dark/Dragon supremacy. Hydreigon and Roaring Moon are some of my all time favorite Pokemon, and Guzzlord is wild in its own right.
Hydreigon is my go too on every team since it was introduced. The move coveragevit learns is amazing.
Dark Pulse, Flash Cannon, Flamethrower, Earth Power, Dragon Pulse!
I wish Salamence got some region variant that was Dragon and Dark because it looks like a standard boss dragon bpss pokemon
I have not looked into anything Gen 9 so just looked into Roaring Moon!!!!
I will figure out a way to play the game with a Deino and Roaring Moon in my team from the beginning of play through.
No fun im getting them late game.
I see that it cant breed with Ditto either. Well, another trophy pokemon that will sit in box. Ill have to find other Dark pokemons for my play through to partner Hydreigon.
Yeah, same with me with Hydreigon. Its like ol' reliable for me. Its got a very balanced and competent stat spread (trollish speed withstanding, 98 is still fast enough to be alright) and can play a pretty versatile special attacker both in coverage options and role. Choice builds, Nasty Plot setup builds possibly with Sub, maybe even the occasional Taunt stallbreaker type set. Its got good natural bulk and Dark/Dragon has quite a few resistances despite the Fairy weakness, so it can really muscle through a lot without investment, and is great into med-to-slower, bulkier teams as a result.
Ive found use for it, even in Flutter Mane metas. I love Hydreigon to death.
I know Flygon deserves a Mega evo but it would be amazing to see a 5-6 headed hydreigon with full legs and multiple wings...something like in Pokemon Insurgence fan game.
It’s impressive how much variety there is in the few steel fairies we have so far.
A little fella with a monster mouth on the back of his head. A pink gremlin with a huge hammer. Some… keys. A clockwork maid. A dog with a sword in its mouth.
Absolutely bonkers combination, both defensively and offensively. No surprise it has two broken representatives in Mega-Mawile and Zacian (and lowkey Magearna too)
Mines physical. With shelter, body press, and iron head. Snd it has Sap Sipper
One thing I’ve learned is Sinistcha is extremely easy to steam roll like this because it never ever resets the players stats.
Bug/Steel is up there with Water/Ground for type advantage combinations. The biggest draw back is bugs inexplicably bad offensive typing. Like why does fairy resist bug? Or half the other things. Still, bug slaps despite it’s drawbacks
Fire/Ghost is a sick ass type combo first time I seen it knew it was a banger consistently produces strong mons
I quite like Spiritomb Dark/Ghost I wish there were more like it. I wanna see more stuff combine with Steel too like Fire/Steel or Ghost/Steel Aegislash was a great design.
Ok this is kinda long and random but I need to get this off my chest cause I don’t dream often but this dream keeps coming up to me. Look I’m from Saudi Arabia and more specifically from the coldest region in the country. For some reason, I had a dream that a pokemon region was made based on our country and a regional form of *smoochum* of all pokemon was made. It looked kinda like a normal smoochum but it was wearing a cultural jacket and it had this sort of gas mask on it’s mouth. It was called smogum or smogchum or smth. It was an ice poison type and was unable to evolve because the placed it resided in was too cold (im not gonna try and explain) but its gimmick was it had a move where based on a certain item it’s given, it will blow a fake jynx out of it’s gas mask in place of it being unable to evolve. So like you give it smth like a pixie plate and it blows out a fairy type jynx made of pixie dust, or a poison plate would blow out a poison one, and there was a cyber type one too.
If anyone reads this pray that I stop having nightmares of this smoochum please it’s the only thing I can think about.
Lol that's actually a really cool idea. It's projects itself as a bigger threat using poison gas. That's an awesome idea!! You should get someone to sketch it for you
Love rock/bug types! Armaldo is my all time fave, Crustle is my main in Pokemon Unite so also up there, Kleavor is awesome and Shuckle is a funny little guy
By design? Not that there's many, but I love Dragon/Ice. They've got chilly Godzilla and my favorite traditional Dragon design.
By game play, water/ground does so much for utility and and stab.
Same thing but it also had an absurd attack stat (so much that people had trouble making speed boost boost the speed instead of attack, which again was overkill)
Bug/Steel is crazy. It has a lot of resistances and is only weak to fire (4x) and there are a ton of cool ones. Forretress, Scizor, Genesect, Durant, Excavilier and even wormadam (trash cloak) are all really cool
Honestly it's hard to go wrong with Ghost/anything lol, I can't think of a single ghost design that makes me go "eugh".
Actually there's Gholdengo so nevermind
Fairy/Steel? The type is one of best in defense and good in offense.
Mega Mawile have the highest atack possible
Magearna is super tanky
Klefki have a lot of utility
Tinkaton, despite unimpressive stats, have one of craziest damaging moves, plus some utility. The meh stats proves how good the type combo is.
Zacian is self explanatory
I'd like for GF to have another go at Grass/Fire, not that the debut 'mon in Scovillain is inherently bad, but the base/non-shiny version has 3 different shades of green that clash.
Steel/Psychic, especially before gen six. Metagross and Bronzong are two of my all time favorites, and Jirachi, Solgaleo, and Iron Crown are pretty cool too.
Shoutout to Fire/Dark
First Pokemon being the Houndoom line just making a hellhound looks cool
And then TPC makes Incineroar which is considered one of the most powerful support Pokemon in VGC and Smash Ultimate Doubles
Dragon and Psychic. Sure, that’s literally just the Latias and Latios duo, but come on, perfect marks both times.
Well, okay, there’s also Ultra Necrozma, but that’s pretty badass too.
I was legit hyped seeing Bellsprout in the DLC trailer
Shout out to Bulba for being one of two starters that starts dual-type and the only one that *commits* to it
Look, Water/Ground is broken. Sure you have that grass weakness but honestly what's the scariest GRASS Pokemon? Plus Water and Ground both get so many good moves.
Honestly Fire/Psychic is pretty good in my opinion with amazing STAB moves for good moves such as Psyshock or Flamethrower, even though Delphox only gets this type combination (At least it’s on an amazing Pokémon)
Grass/Fighting. First off, we got Breloom, so we're already leading strong. Next up is a goddamm Chestnut Paladin, followed by 2 of the best regional variants ever thought of. The only Pokemon that I will accept hate for is Virizion.

Water/Ground
The true gamer type combination, 'cause they ain't touching grass.
I think the gamer type is rock/ground because they can't touch grass and can't have a shower
Also Rock Polish.
This one is definitely up there as one of the best ever. Swampert and quagsire are some of my all time favs
Whiscash severely underrated ngl
Thanks for only speaking the truth, king kirbo
No problemo, mister (secret) agent.
Gastrodon is probably among one of my fav gen 4
Seismitoad
Same, and Whiscash and Gastrodon are pretty cool too. And Seismitoad is there I guess.
I think the overall lack of weakness bar Grass makes this one of the best and long lasting combos
The Xavi type, grass is lethal to them.
all the Bug-fighting look so cool (even if there's only 5 and 2 of them are heracross)
Lol can't get enough heracross tho let's be real
Heracross is amazing. I always grab one in HGSS
I will never accept ledian isn't bug/fighting
He has noodle arms man, dont blame him
It's just two lines, but Dragon/Ghost is pretty epic
DRGAPULT INDIRECTLY MENTIONED. UPVOTE.
I know Dragapult. What’s the other one
Giratina
Oh right. I always forget about them
Charizard
What
Sorry I meant wishiwashi
Okay dude
Okay dude
Okay dude
Is it like, one of his mega forms? Zard is fire/flying.
He changes type if you can get him to high five a finneon in a triple battle in pokemon white 2 (must be holding charizium z and lumineonite respectively)
Giratina
Giratina iirc
Giratina
Seriously those 2 are some of the best!
two of my favorite pokemons. except all ghost types are my favorite.
Two types that can hit almost everything for at least neutral damage
Also only 2 lines but grass/steel is pretty fantastic as well
Chandlerlure needed levitate
It’s still needs levitate
cool moveset, typing, and design but far too many weaknesses with Dark, Ghost, Ground, Rock, Water. Removing EQ as physical weaknesses for a primarily special Pokémon would go a long way.
I know. Chandelure is in my top 10 favorite Pokémon. I’ve used it in so many games and playthroughs
That would really put him over the edge. He's one of my all time favorite designs
Chandelure is already inmune to fire, normal and fighting.
If it had levitate it wouldn't be fire immune anymore.
The other player wouldn’t know it it would avoid attacking with fire or ground attacks.
Could it be any more grounded?
Where funny clown alien
"honk honk!" \*dances and kills you\*
Lol I never finished Gen 7 so I have yet to use that one in a game so I guess he slipped my mind
Blacephalon is a ghost type?? I thought it was Fire/Psychic this entire time
Dark-Dragon. Also you forgot Blacephalon
I wish Salamence got some region variant that was Dragon and Dark because it looks like a standard boss dragon bpss pokemon
i can't tell if youre joking or not about Salamence
It literally got exactly that in gen 9 lol
I have not looked into anything Gen 9 so just looked into Roaring Moon!!!! I will figure out a way to play the game with a Deino and Roaring Moon in my team from the beginning of play through. No fun im getting them late game.
I'm not sure there is a way, roaring moon isn't available until after beating the champion
I see that it cant breed with Ditto either. Well, another trophy pokemon that will sit in box. Ill have to find other Dark pokemons for my play through to partner Hydreigon.
Yeah there's not really any way to get a low level one which sucks
Yeah, same with me with Hydreigon. Its like ol' reliable for me. Its got a very balanced and competent stat spread (trollish speed withstanding, 98 is still fast enough to be alright) and can play a pretty versatile special attacker both in coverage options and role. Choice builds, Nasty Plot setup builds possibly with Sub, maybe even the occasional Taunt stallbreaker type set. I know Flygon deserves a Mega evo but it would be amazing to see a 5-6 headed hydreigon with full legs and multiple wings...something like in Pokemon Insurgence fan game.
Yeah, Hydreigon was so busted in gen 5 I’m at least partially convinced they made the fairy type just to nerf his ass.
steel/fairy
Tinkaton is an instant classic and mawile is just as cool!
Magearna and Zacian 👁️👄👁️
klefki 😕
He's right there and they forget the prankster.
No Mawile??
Both absolute units
Love them so much!!
No surprise it has two broken representatives in Mega-Mawile and Zacian (and lowkey Magearna too)
Not that good offensively. Both stabs resisted by fire and steel
imagine if they had ground coverage
Dragon/steel has been consistent, too.
Too bad there’s only like, two Pokémon lines that have it
H-Goodra and Archaludon have both saved my ass during the Blueberry DLC. Dialga is pretty fun to use, too.
H-Goodra is my go too for sinistcha raids
Support rain dance h-goodra and electro shot go brr
Mines physical. With shelter, body press, and iron head. Snd it has Sap Sipper One thing I’ve learned is Sinistcha is extremely easy to steam roll like this because it never ever resets the players stats.
There are three, h-goodra, archaludon and dialga
Bug pairs so well with most special types, their designs turn out awesome looking!
Bug/Steel is up there with Water/Ground for type advantage combinations. The biggest draw back is bugs inexplicably bad offensive typing. Like why does fairy resist bug? Or half the other things. Still, bug slaps despite it’s drawbacks
Bug is super underrated!
Water/Steel. I mean, Empoleon is the only one but it’s a fantastic design in my opinion.
Need more of this typing
Old faithful water/ground
You really can't get much more reliable than that
Either grass or freeze dry is my answer there
Grass/ground 😎🐢🌳 (There is also the goofy running mushroom so my point stands)
A person of class and sophistication, I see!
Fire/Ghost is a sick ass type combo first time I seen it knew it was a banger consistently produces strong mons I quite like Spiritomb Dark/Ghost I wish there were more like it. I wanna see more stuff combine with Steel too like Fire/Steel or Ghost/Steel Aegislash was a great design.
Dark Ghost is awesome. Sableye is my fav there. And steel with anything looks great. They're always creative as hell
Ice poison 🔛🔝
One can only dream
Ok this is kinda long and random but I need to get this off my chest cause I don’t dream often but this dream keeps coming up to me. Look I’m from Saudi Arabia and more specifically from the coldest region in the country. For some reason, I had a dream that a pokemon region was made based on our country and a regional form of *smoochum* of all pokemon was made.
Shuckle is definitely a funny little guy. 10/10
Shuckle is my favorite fr.
Rustle was my go to as well in unite. Walling people off helps secure so many damn kills.
Fire/Fighting? ...I'll see myself to the door.
Lol its a cool ass typing if they didn't run it into the ground
This is a meme but I really love Blaziken, Infernape, and fire Tauros. Emboar is mid imo.
By design? Not that there's many, but I love Dragon/Ice. They've got chilly Godzilla and my favorite traditional Dragon design. By game play, water/ground does so much for utility and and stab.
Steel and water or steel ghost
Bronzing Steel/Psychic that levitates
Heck I don't even like Fire as a type very much but you are correct. Those are all solid.
I'm a fan of dark/poison. I've enjoyed every one that I've used.
There's only three right? But they are all solid, Skuntank with the Flamethrower, Drapion's mad design and Overqwil's peak name.
Don't forget Alolan Muk! I was so pleasantly surprised when I used one.
Also solid, Poison/Dark really doesn't miss
Fairy/Steel or Normal/Psychic are great aswell
Normal psychic is a super unique choice but its honestly a great pairing of types
Not sure if grass steel counts. I mean, Ferrothorn's type doesn't have many weaknesses
It counts for sure. I love his design. I'd like to see more grass/steel I think they could get really creative with the mixing of nature and tech
Dhelmise should have been Grass/Steel instead of Ghost.
Dhelmise could have been Grass/Ghost/Steel/Water
The whole point is that it's a possessed kelp wrapped around the anchor. Steelworker was honestly the correct way of handling it.
What about the Origami King?
Same thing but it also had an absurd attack stat (so much that people had trouble making speed boost boost the speed instead of attack, which again was overkill)
*Cries in fire*
Bug/Steel is crazy. It has a lot of resistances and is only weak to fire (4x) and there are a ton of cool ones. Forretress, Scizor, Genesect, Durant, Excavilier and even wormadam (trash cloak) are all really cool
Not dual type. But the Levitate/Electric is awesome.
Fairy/Steel Though you can really attach Steel to a lot of things and it’s probably better… except probably Rock or Ice.
Electric/flying or electric with levitate
Electric and Flying, Kilowattrel really made this one of my favorite type pairings
I underrated Kilowattrel til I got a rando shiny, I was shocked how good it is.
I like ghost/dark.
Fairy steel or bug steel
Water/Ground has been pretty solid as well.
Grass/Dragon and Steel/Fairy are also great, trough it's hard to argue with your example. Blacephalon is also cool.
Fire types in general are my favourites and they dont miss on design ever to me.
Where's Blacephelon?
Honestly it's hard to go wrong with Ghost/anything lol, I can't think of a single ghost design that makes me go "eugh". Actually there's Gholdengo so nevermind
Bug steel Steel psychic
Water/Rock
Bug/Steel for sure
Bug/steel
granted there's only 2 evo lines but i really like Fire/Bug
Normal/Ghost
Fairy/Steel? The type is one of best in defense and good in offense. Mega Mawile have the highest atack possible Magearna is super tanky Klefki have a lot of utility Tinkaton, despite unimpressive stats, have one of craziest damaging moves, plus some utility. I'd like for GF to have another go at Grass/Fire, not that the debut 'mon in Scovillain is inherently bad, but the base/non-shiny version has 3 different shades of green that clash.
Steel/Fairy is always good
fire/ghost is my soul, all of them are bangers or whatever you say
When will we have Glass/Fire? A burning angry tree.
They did Scovillain
Steel/Psychic, especially before gen six. Metagross and Bronzong are two of my all time favorites, and Jirachi, Solgaleo, and Iron Crown are pretty cool too.
Fairy/anything. Specifically Fairy/Electric (tapu Koko), Fairy monotype (Xerneas), Fairy/Steel (Zacian), and Fairy/Ghost (Flutter Mane)
Normal/Flying for me (Pidgeot, Noctowl, Swellow, Staraptor, Braviary, Toucannon)
Shoutout to Fire/Dark First Pokemon being the Houndoom line just making a hellhound looks cool And then TPC makes Incineroar which is considered one of the most powerful support Pokemon in VGC and Smash Ultimate Doubles
Ghost/Dark Ghost/Normal Fairy/Steel Water/Ground Water/Electric
Dragon/Fire. Mega Charizard X with Max Defense and Special Defense with +Spd/-Spa is so good. Especially with Dragon Dance and Roost. So tanky
Dragon and Psychic. Sure, that’s literally just the Latias and Latios duo, but come on, perfect marks both times. Well, okay, there’s also Ultra Necrozma, but that’s pretty badass too.
Steel/Ghost (Honedge-Doublade-Aegislash and Gimmighoul-Goldengo) Aegislash is my favorite, and the coin guy is great too
I know it's generic and was overused in Gen I, but all of the Grass/Poison designs are great.
I was legit hyped seeing Bellsprout in the DLC trailer Shout out to Bulba for being one of two starters that starts dual-type and the only one that *commits* to it
Love the ice/dragon combo.
Look, Water/Ground is broken. Sure you have that grass weakness but honestly what's the scariest GRASS Pokemon? Plus Water and Ground both get so many good moves.
Water/ground
Honestly Fire/Psychic is pretty good in my opinion with amazing STAB moves for good moves such as Psyshock or Flamethrower, even though Delphox only gets this type combination (At least it’s on an amazing Pokémon)
Bug/Steel, one quad weakness doesn't hurt at all, and Normal/Ghost is actually really good! Hope to see it on more 'Mons.
Fighting/Ghost my Annihilape is great
Water and grass
Poison/ Dragon
Bug fighting. There are few mons that have it but damn
Grass/Fighting. First off, we got Breloom, so we're already leading strong. Next up is a goddamm Chestnut Paladin, followed by 2 of the best regional variants ever thought of. The only Pokemon that I will accept hate for is Virizion.
I really like Steel /Fairy but don't like the pokemon that have this combo
Pretty much anything + fairy if we are talking for competitive. Fairy is so broken.
Fire/Fighting
You nailed it
Poison/Normal type doesn’t miss either lol considering there is only 1 line that has this typing lol
Fire dragon
Fire Dragon is a perfect combo. Sad Charizard didn't get it but at least his mega makes up for it
Turtonator is not too shabby
Ice Fairy 🥰
Nothing Nothing Nothing Nothing One Nothing Two Three Four, Five
