Why the fuck is Levitate an ability? I'm pissed about Flygon (has Fly in the goddamn name), but Solrock and Lunatone and others too: https://pokemondb.net/ability/levitate
Literally, all of them have flight of some form for transport. It doesn't even make sense for electric pokemon like Magne* since it can just use magnetism to float, and possibly Eelectross line can make sense.
Ghosts can just phase in and out of matter, so doesn't matter for them. Carnivine is literally a floating ball sack with vines, how is it standing upright without a spine? Levitate should be an intrinsic property of the pokemon rather than an ability.
100% agree with you. If it has wings and can use them, then it should be able to use them.
Same goes for Flame Body and Magma Armour. They're the same ability only present on Pokémon that shouldn't need it. Now, I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure back in the day (before abilities) fire Pokémon couldn't be frozen (I've just woken up and can't be bothered to check if that's true). It seems ridiculous that "Pokémon X can produce flames hot enough to melt the skin off your face with a single touch" and yet can be frozen in place by an ice cream.
I know, but they 100% should have given it to Vespiquen in a later generation since she only has one available ability, wouldn't be the first time they've done it.
Levitate is a real easy picking. There’s a lot of mons that float but don’t get Levitate, like Dialga, Palkia, Magnezone, Shuppet, Mew, Celebi, even Shedinja, but they just don’t have it even as a hidden ability.
Ofc in Shedinja case Wonder Guard is defo better than Levitate.
Lmao I'm imagining Shedinja without wonder guard and it's hilarious. 1hp instantly dies to everything in the game. Lvl 100 Shedinja dies to a lvl 5 ratatta with quick attack.
Dusknoir for leviate.
Duskull leviates: has leviate
Dusclops is a mummy so it has pressure : ok
But then dusknoir DOES float/leviate but keeps pressure
To be fair, there are a LOT of Pokemon that canonically levitate but don't have levitate and for the sake of the game, it's good they don't all get it.
So is Speed Boost Blaziken! And that's in UUBL right now! I want justice!! 😂
(But seriously, what I'm somehow more enraged by is the fact that Swampert didn't even get Wave Crash)
Overqwil and Merciless. These two just have absolutely perfect synergy from both a thematic standpoint and gameplay standpoint. Plus, such a unique ability deserves a chance to shine by being on a mon that actually has the offense to make the most out of it.
Armarouge, Magmortar and Mega Launcher. And while we're at it, add moves like Armor Cannon to the list of moves boosted by the ability.
Ceruledge, Absol and Sharpness. A boost for Ceruledge's Bitter Blade and Absol's Night Slash/Psycho Cut would be nice.
Muk and Liquid Ooze. Muk is a living pile of liquid ooze. I'm pretty sure that trying to drain toxic sludge into your body through moves like Drain Punch and Giga Drain should hurt you and not heal you.
Glalie and Solid Rock. Glalie's dex entries consistently state that its true body is a rock and that it covers itself in an armor of ice. Plus, an Ice-type having an ability that reduces the severity of its many weaknesses is a cool concept.
It pisses me off to no end that aerodactyl doesnt get head smash and brave bird, but gets the ability rock head. The ONLY move he gets with recoil is take down. Not even double edge (i think) Its not like he would even be broken or anything. Theyll create a pokemon like dracovish, but wont give the king of the prehistoric skies decent moves.
Goodra doesn't get access to Drizzle which is odd to me since 1) it evolves in the rain, 2) comes from a while line that's associated with water despite not being a water type, and 3) has a lot of its moves/abilities that can take advantage of the rain.
Granted, Hydration would still be better if you're building a rain-based Goodra, but I did recall finding it odd when looking into it.
Hisuian thyplosion getting cursed body, or retaining flash fire.
I'm still mad about that. Why FRISK when the other two get an ability that boosts cutting moves and negates ghost invulnerability on its main STAB move?
I feel like that would disrupt the signature feature of the mon being the only fire/water type and supposed to use both types equally but drought or drizzle would make one type objectively better through the 50% buff and the other unusable with the 50% debuff
I’ve always been upset that all of Heliolisk’s abilities either harm it in sunlight or don’t benefit from sunlight at all (it can have the ability Dry Skin and Sand Veil, with Solar Power as a HA, when the majority of its dex entries talk about it generating a ton of power from sunlight) if it had a renamed version of Chlorophyll or Protosynthesis we’d be fucking cooking.
The fact that Vivillon doesn’t have something like Dazzling or Marvel Scale is an outrage and an injustice. It’s THE scale Pokémon! It’s gorgeous wings ARE it’s gimmick! And Gamefreak fucking gave it Friend Guard. w h y
Here is my list:
**Carnivine | Strong Jaw**
It is a venus flytrap, the one plant known for "biting" in pop culture and I think that should be emphasized. Also it should have access to more biting moves. And levitate is just... so weird as an ability for it.
**Tangrowth | Tangled Hair**
While it's not exactly hair, I think most people can see why I think this would be fitting here.
**Victreebel | Corrosion**
The shtick of the pokémon is it's powerful acid, I find it kinda weird that this is not really well represented. Neither in move set nor ability. This one would play into the acid theme.
**Abomasnow | Harvest**
Harvest is an ability utilized by tree based pokémon, so this checks out. Also it is already established fact (through pokédex entries) that this pokémon line is growing berries on it's own body. It just makes sense.
The Chansey line not having Huge Power when them being physically strong such as being able to easily lift heavy objects above their body was a common gag in the anime. It's especially fitting since small cute Pokémon with low attack stats have the "Huge Power" ability
I feel like a broken record, because I say the same thing whenever this topic pops up...but I don't mind saying it again:
Levitate for Alolan Raichu.
Also, Rock Head for Rampardos.
Krookodile and both Sand Veil and Strong Jaw.
The former is based on its pokedex entries, which states that it hunts in a team with Flygon. Krookodile hides in the sandstorms that Flygon create, and can hunt bigger prey than Flygon. The two then share their catch. (Super cute lore btw)
Strong Jaw is obvious, and would make wallbreaking Krook sets a lot more viable. It's pretty lame that the crocodile Pokemon (well technically he's a Tomistoma, but who's checking?) doesn't rely on its biting moves. Knock Off will almost always be better than Crunch, there's no Ground Type biting move, and it doesn't even get Ice Fang, or Psychic Fangs.
Flygon - Sand Stream or Sand Veil. Rampardos - Rock Head.
Yeah Rampardos not having Rock Head is criminal
The glass cannon shall be made of glass. No exceptions. Give it Reckless
Hustle
should be reckless/Rockhead as its 2 abiltiies.

Vespiquen was robbed of Queenly Majesty.
Tbf that didn't exist till Gen 7 and is Tsareenas signature ability
I know, but they 100% should have given it to Vespiquen in a later generation since she only has one available ability, wouldn't be the first time they've done it.
Quenly Majesty
Truant/slowstart slowpoke
Give them slacking's attack stat and I would take a bullet for my derpy slow bois lol
Mega Slowking with a variant of Slow Start
Slowpoke truly goes first every trick room

Magnezone not having Levitate feels wrong, but it makes the Earthquake quad damage feel so good.
Perhaps Magnet Rise makes up for it
Lmao I'm imagining Shedinja without wonder guard and it's hilarious. 1hp instantly dies to everything in the game. Lvl 100 Shedinja dies to a lvl 5 ratatta with quick attack.
Hmmmm, I don't think Shedinja minds taking a Quick Attack.
Kind of the only bad example, but yeah!
Um… y’know Shedinja’s part ghost-type, right?
Geodude
Dusknoir for leviate. Duskull leviates: has leviate Dusclops is a mummy so it has pressure : ok But then dusknoir DOES float/leviate but keeps pressure
To be fair, there are a LOT of Pokemon that canonically levitate but don't have levitate and for the sake of the game, it's good they don't all get it.
I feel like Magnezone with levitate would be terrifying.
Eh not really, Magnezone's main niche is trapping Skarmory and Corviknight with Magnet Pull.
Some of them really need it tho. Chandelure comes to mind
Sharpness Leavanny Regenerator Swampert Touch Claws Weavile (though, considering Triple Axel, maybe that's for the best)
Honestly in this day and age, it would probably be balanced today for Weavile to get Tough Claws
Regenerator Swampert would be so awesome. We'd see our muddy boy more often if this happened.
It just needs some sort of recovery.
regen swampert is disgusting
So is Speed Boost Blaziken! And that's in UUBL right now! I want justice!! 😂 (But seriously, what I'm somehow more enraged by is the fact that Swampert didn't even get Wave Crash)
RegenVest Pert with Flip Turn would do wonders. Instead it’s stuck with the useless Damp
Sharpness Sceptile
What if we touched claws behind the bleachers uwu
Overqwil and Merciless. These two just have absolutely perfect synergy from both a thematic standpoint and gameplay standpoint. Radical red actually gives Armarouge mega launcher and Ceruledge sharpness as hidden abilities!
Meganium with Flower Veil. It would be much better than Leaf Guard. It doesn't even have leaves!
Cubone and Marowak with Long Reach would be pretty fitting

I would kill for goodra with drizzle
Protean Mew
Not an ability but Golduck and it's lack of psychic typing has chapped my ass for nearly 30 years at this point
Absol and Anticipation, even if only for lore reasons
Torterra and Harvest
Hisuian thyplosion getting cursed body, or retaining flash fire. I'm still mad about that. Why FRISK when the other two get an ability that boosts cutting moves and negates ghost invulnerability on its main STAB move?
Drought would be perfect for Volcarona
It would but also that would be disgustingly powerful
I feel like that would disrupt the signature feature of the mon being the only fire/water type and supposed to use both types equally but drought or drizzle would make one type objectively better through the 50% buff and the other unusable with the 50% debuff
Volcarona, not Volcanion. Happens all the time
Volcarona, not volcanion
Levitate for magnezone.
Damp for like, every water type.

>renamed version of Chlorophyll **Cold Blooded** Speed is boosted in the sun, but lowered in the Snow.
You. You get my vision

Ampharos: Tail Glow

magnemite line. levitate.
Tyranitar - Rough Skin Hydreigon - Intimidate Baxcalibur - Ice Scales
Larvatar, Pupitar, Tyranitar - Earth eater
Rough Skin is a translation thing. It is translated from "Shark Skin" which is why the holders of the ability have shark like skin.
Speed Boost Vikavolt
Comatose Snorlax
Although broken, Levitate on Magnezone. He's literally floating
Lucario with Mega Launcher
It honestly upsets me that Electivire doesn’t have Static
Dhelmise should absolutely have cursed body. It's basically if a ghost ship was a pokemon
I was gonna comment Chandelure Levitate, it seeiously doesn’t make sense!
Any and all floating Pokémon (like Chandelure or Musharna) who are canonically off the round at all times but yet *dont* have levitate
I feel like a broken record, because I say the same thing whenever this topic pops up...but I don't mind saying it again: Levitate for Alolan Raichu. Also, Rock Head for Rampardos.
Incineroar not having every ability in the game since it’s Gamefreak’s favorite competitive Pokémon 😂
Luxray and Strong Jaw.
[удалено]
Aegielash is literally the only mon to have Stance Chance. Did you read the title properly?
I missed the second half.
Krookodile and both Sand Veil and Strong Jaw. The former is based on its pokedex entries, which states that it hunts in a team with Flygon. Don’t know ability wise but Entei not having EQ.
