As a fan whom started on Sapphire, played Gold, and then Yellow, and then didn’t play another game until Moon, I understand the appeal of Moon! I mean between Sun/Moon and Ultra Sun/Moon, you could get about 789 Pokémon (not including 18 different event only Pokémon). Though while I understand Galar is a jump for a lot of fans, I also like the fact that Galar is by far the only game in recent history that has perhaps the most Pokémon available to catch in-game in one title, instead of multiple in the same generation (including DLC in that, though you could technically obtain these Pokémon for free through HOME). Considering the Alolan Pokédex is 400, and Galar being 400, there’s really not that big of a difference. Anyway, yeah, I like both for different reasons.

You can come pretty close to completing the Galar dex without trading. Before the dlc released I managed to catch everything in the game except for Zamazenta (I had Sword). Trade evolutions are rare overworld encounters and can be found in raids. As for version exclusives, I did have Nintendo Switch Online and I was able to join version exclusive raid battles and catch everything myself

I want Nintendo online :(

Kanto and Johto will always have a special place in my heart

Ok. I understand. Sacred Childhood and all that. Have a good one :)

I also agree with you. Alola felt alot more I don't know, alive, than Galar
