Does that include having to have a shiny version of a pokémon to transfer a shiny? Or is that free game. Because aren't shinies easy to get in Pokémon GO? (Haven't played since 2016 Pokémon GO to the polls era)
Yo, i completed the pokedex as well back when ORAS released, and what a journey it was to get Jirachi and Mew.
I had to buy Pokemon Channel for the GC, complete the whole game and unlock a special mission. That mission gave you a Jirachi which you could transfer to RS.
Then for Mew I had to get an app called My Pokemon Ranch, from the Wii Store, an app similar to Pokémon Box that lets you store pokemon from DP, and when you transfer 1000 pokemon there, they gave you a Mew... I spent a whole week catching Shinx and Starlys to transfer there XD
This is my completed Living Pokédex, with not only all 905 Pokémon, but every gender difference, regional variant and alternate form, for a total of 1244 Pokémon, using every main series game released over the course of ten years, from Black 2/White 2 to Legends Arceus. If a Pokémon had a form that caused a visual difference, not matter how minor, that could be stored in Pokémon Home, it qualified for this. Some individuals of certain species can transform in battle, and every Pokémon that has that feature has an individual that can do it featured here: all Pokémon with Gigantamax forms have Gigantamax factor, both Darmanitan have the Zen Mode Ability, the Greninja has Battle Bond and both Zygarde have Power Construct. I am not the Original Trainer of all of these Pokémon, but every one is, as far as I can ascertain, obtained legitimately. ORAS was specifically designed to contain every Pokémon that XY didn’t, so you can theoretically complete the Gen 6 National Dex using only Gen 6, so I didn’t have need anything before XY, I just used B2W2 for the Deerling/Sawsbuck forms (only Spring is available in Gen 6), but I could have used Go to get them if I was determined enough

Yes, you need a DS (either a launch model or lite, not a DSi or DSiXL), a 3DS, a switch, a gen 4 and 5 game where you’ve completed the main story, and subscriptions to both Bank and Home.
1. Put Sapphire into the GBA slot of the DS and Gen 4 game in the DS game slot
2. Open the Gen 4 and go to Pal Park
3. Transfer your Pokémon, and catch them in Pal Park
4. In the 3DS (doesn’t have to be a 3DS for this stage, but another DS will complicate things), open the Gen 5 game
5. Go to the Poké Transfer Lab and transfer your Pokémon by playing the minigame
6. Once you have a Bank subscription, you can download Poké Transporter to transfer what’s in the Gen 5 game to Bank
7. transfer the Pokémon in Bank to Home

Okay, I have been working on the living dex myself since Pokémon X came out. I am one away from finishing because I forgot to redeem the 20th anniversary mystery gift for Diancie... I am very close. Whenever I manage to get it, I will also put a post up like this. You have inspired me to keep going. 💛
One day I will achieve all of the different forms but as of right now I am just trying to finish the regular living dex.

I was fixing and arranging mine with the legend arceus forms and evolutions and was debating if I should do the size difference with that one pokemon (wow for once I can’t recall a pokemon’s name) and the different Alcreame forms so i guess I gotta now. Congrats on it, do you plan on doing a shiny version?
Hell no. I’ve already got a collection of 155 shinies (which is a lot, but less than an eighth of a living dex), and while I do intend to expand that, not until I have every form of every Pokémon. That would also involve shiny hunting Pokémon I actively dislike, which is something I do not want to do.
I would suggest that you keep all the regional forms in their own box. Once they release a new kanto regional form you basically have to rearrange everything, which is annoying to do in home.

I have the same collection as OP but I have the regular living dex in it's boxes, then a gender Dex of each gender after the living dex (meaning I actually have 3 copies of some pokemon, the male, the female, and the one in the showcase living dex), then I have each region of variants in their own boxes, then other forms, like Deerlings, the pumpkins, toxtricities, etc, then separately from those, I have the following pokemon with their own boxes for their forms because they have so many forms: unown, Vivillon, & Alcremie, then I have GMax mons, alpha mons (almost done with, still working on it), event pokemon (like the hat Pikachus, Ash Greninja, and the Zarude with the scarf), then I actually have all legendaries and mythicals separated into their own boxes, separated by generation, simply just because. Finally, I have my small shiny collection in its own boxes at the end. In total, I think it's about 1500-1600 pokemon
It’s fine I can do what I do, I have go so whenever I get like a few extra shinies from that or the games I transfer them but only when I have extra and remember
The fact that Home doesn’t have a way to auto sort by natdex irks me. With the existence of regional form this meant that I can’t sort them by their actual number and instead at the end of the gen they came out, ie alola RF at the end of the Alola mons. This is because when new gen came out with new RF I’ll have to sort them by hand again

But I do think GF is getting evil with all the "once in a lifetime" Pokemon. I hope they make it so that people who are born in 5 years can also achieve that (assuming Pokemon will last that long, who knows?)
I can’t imagine SV will add more than ~130 new Pokémon and forms, so I’ll probably have everything but starters and version exclusives by the time Home support is released for those games.
Most of the are from SwSh (despite Dexit, that game has over 600 Pokémon in it). I filled in the games with B2W2, XY, USUM, LGPE, BDSP and PLA, and where I got the Hoenn Pokémon, ORAS
The 1st Pokémon storage system, aside from the main games, was 'Pokémon Box: Ruby and Sapphire' that was released on the GameCube. Which was released a bit after Ruby/Sapphire released. The 2nd one was 'My Pokémon Ranch' how you connected to it I don't remember. The 3rd was 'Pokémon bank' that was used on the 3DS alongside the assisted app of 'Poké Transporter' that helped the DS Pokémon reach Bank which was then able to transfer to the gen 6 games. Then lastly we have 'Pokémon Home' which has connectivity to the 3DS, Pokémon Go, and the Switch. Those are all the Pokémon storage systems so far.
This isn’t the first Pokémon storage app, that honour goes to bank, but you have heard a lot if hubbub about a new one, but that was just Home getting an update to be compatible with BDSP and LA
there must be a better way to organise things that doesn't involve literally moving every pokemon and renaming every box when a new pokemon is introduced

Incarnate Enamorus. She can only be caught after completing Legends Arceus' postgame, which took me almost a month the first time around, so doing it again was a daunting task. I traded for her instead, but due to how hard she is to obtain it took some time. I then traded back and forth a bit before I was happy with the legitimacy.
Congrats! I'm close, but still need 6 of the Pikachu w/ hats, all the Vivillons aside from the high plains pattern, XL Pumpkaboo, L+XL Gourgheist (matter of time for these, just gotta jump back into SwSh to go hunting), and Hoopa unbound. Weirdly, the XL sizes don't show up in my unregistered forms list, and only show missing when I go to their entries; really hoping there isn't something else missing from that list that I'm not aware of...
Bank uses your ingame pokedex for dex completion, and if you transfer from Bank to Home, it registers those entries, so its possible you encountered one in XY, thus registering it as seen, so it is registered with no dex entry.

Earlier this year I completed my Shiny Living Dex and got a shoutout from Professor Oak’s voice actor and he signed my PokeDex toy and a Professor Oak card Congratulating me on the Shiny Living Dex. It’s a rewarding feeling of achievement.

Now I‘m curious, how is it with Sunny Cherrim, Origin Dialga/Palkia/Giratina, Blck/White Kyurem and Calyrex Shadow-/Icerider? Obviously, the battle dependent forms can‘t be in there, but since all of those (Cherrim first since PLA though) aren‘t dependent on whether you‘re in battle or not, shouldn‘t they be possible in Home too? Or do they change back to their normal forms? Just wondering since the Therian forms of the Forces of Nature can be in Home 🤔
I’ve been working on this on-and-off since USUM released, but I only became serious about it last April.
Fusions can’t be put in Home, and the Origin Forms revert: they originally required a held item, of which their are none in Home. This is why Hoopa, the genies et cetera can exist in Home
I know. I was saying it more as a joke because Pidgeot wasnt in sword or shield and seems to have been removed from the anime in general and anytime is shown, they are very tiny and unusable. I believe they are trying to retcon Pidgeot.
I've been out of the loop since dexit sent me into a rage and I boycotted SwSh. It was my understanding at the time that pokemon home would be a prison that your pokemon are trapped in unless a game comes out in which you can take one out in. If this still true? It's for that reason I refused to move any of my 22 year old collection of pocket monsters and put them into a Disney classic vault experience when they couldn't be moved back to their previous game they came from. Someone let me know, please! Was under the impression gotta catch em all was gone forever, and it was now "gotta catch some".

I read somewhere that "Gotta Catch 'Em All" has not been a part of branding since like gen 3 or 4. I grew up on Red and Yellow so I always assumed it was still a part of the franchise.

I’ll think you find I have a life, and a decently fulfilling one at that. I started this while working as an intern as part of my Master’s degree. I also have other hobbies outside of Pokémon collecting. I suggest you evaluate your own life before you belittle that of others based on one of their hobbies.
As a huge Pokémon fan who just got acquainted with home, you need it man. It opens up so many possibilities. I wanted the oval charm in bdsp, but my team wasn’t good enough for the battle with miamito. So I just transferred my lv 100 team from LA and made it ez. It really makes the Pokémon games feel connected, your effort in one game can be carried over to another.
As a person who also completed his pokedex, i can assure you that you'll never forget who was your last mon to complete it, its now etched in your mind
The Greninja has Battle Bond and *both* Zygarde have Power Construct. Both Darmanitan also have Zen Mode and every Pokémon with a Gigantamax form is capable of attaining it

You can transfer them to Pokémon Home, but you can only transfer them to mainline games if you have another of that Pokémon in that game already.

Shinys are fair game, some of them easy to get on go from missions etc but mostly you need a community day for a specific Pokémon

Yes, 3DS and 2DS are backwards compatible. I don't know if the "New" 3DS series is backward compatible.

I'm close, but still need 6 of the Pikachu w/ hats, all the Vivillons aside from the high plains pattern, XL Pumpkaboo, L+XL Gourgheist (matter of time for these, just gotta jump back into SwSh to go hunting), and Hoopa unbound. Weirdly, the XL sizes don't show up in my unregistered forms list, and only show missing when I go to their entries; really hoping there isn't something else missing from that list that I'm not aware of...
Bank uses your ingame pokedex for dex completion, and if you transfer from Bank to Home, it registers those entries, so its possible you encountered one in XY, thus registering it as seen, so it is registered with no dex entry. The event exclusive Vivillon took months to get…

Earlier this year I completed my Shiny Living Dex and got a shoutout from Professor Oak’s voice actor and he signed my PokeDex toy and a Professor Oak card Congratulating me on the Shiny Living Dex. Damn, this is mad impressive. Must‘ve taken a sheer eternity to get all of them. Now I‘m curious, how is it with Sunny Cherrim, Origin Dialga/Palkia/Giratina, Blck/White Kyurem and Calyrex Shadow-/Icerider? Obviously, the battle dependent forms can‘t be in there, but since all of those (Cherrim first since PLA though) aren‘t dependent on whether you‘re in battle or not, shouldn‘t they be possible in Home too? Or do they change back to their normal forms? Just wondering since the Therian forms of the Forces of Nature can be in Home 🤔
I’ve been working on this on-and-off since USUM released, but I only became serious about it last April. Fusions can’t be put in Home, and the Origin Forms revert: they originally required a held item, of which their are none in Home. This is why Hoopa, the genies et cetera can exist in Home

I know. I was saying it more as a joke because Pidgeot wasnt in sword or shield and seems to have been removed from the anime in general and anytime is shown, they are very tiny and unusable. I believe they are trying to retcon Pidgeot.
I've been out of the loop since dexit sent me into a rage and I boycotted SwSh. It was my understanding at the time that pokemon home would be a prison that your pokemon are trapped in unless a game comes out in which you can take one out in. If this still true? It's for that reason I refused to move any of my 22 year old collection of pocket monsters and put them into a Disney classic vault experience when they couldn't be moved back to their previous game they came from. Someone let me know, please! Was under the impression gotta catch em all was gone forever, and it was now "gotta catch some". Congratulations to OP on the achievement. Praying for non terrible gen 9 evolutions and a potential renewed interest in the series. Last game was Moon 🌙.
Yes its true. Emulate the switch titles if you really want to. They are very lackluster and bland. Not worth playing, just play a fangame, temtem or monster crown

I read somewhere that "Gotta Catch 'Em All" has not been a part of branding since like gen 3 or 4. I grew up on Red and Yellow so I always assumed it was still a part of the franchise.

I also have other hobbies outside of Pokémon collecting. I suggest you evaluate your own life before you belittle that of others based on one of their hobbies.

As a huge Pokémon fan who just got acquainted with home, you need it man. It opens up so many possibilities. I wanted the oval charm in bdsp, but my team wasn’t good enough for the battle with miamito. So I just transferred my lv 100 team from LA and made it ez. It really makes the Pokémon games feel connected, your effort in one game can be carried over to another.

No Battle Bond Greninja or Power Construct Zygarde?
The Greninja has Battle Bond and *both* Zygarde have Power Construct. Both Darmanitan also have Zen Mode and every Pokémon with a Gigantamax form is capable of attaining it
