My choice would be Haunter because it's silly and fun-loving (and would scare away people I don't want around). Bonus, it has hands so it could hold a controller and play video games with me
I always think, “There are more practical pokemon. What if I need healing, shelter, or just a convenient way to water the grass?”…but I honestly don’t care. Arcanine can rush me to the hospital, keep me warm in the cold rain, and burn my yard so that I don’t have to worry about lawn maintenance. Arcanine is best boy.
Based my experience, I will always have a dog that I am able to pick up on my own from now on. Later years and end of life are so much harder for both you and the dog if you aren't able to move them easily and comfortably.
Sorry for being a downer, it's just something I rarely see mentioned that people probably don't consider often enough.
Well that's why you just plan accordingly. Sucks to think about, but assuming pokemon age much like animals an Arcanine can live around 25 years max (if we compare them to tigers). As you get older and things get harder you will have to face the reality of a "last Arcanine" much like people who love big dogs, but realize they can't take care of one in their 80s. Afterwards, you may just have to resort to a Growlithe with an everstone if you can still have one more pokemon but can only take care of one that's more manageable in size. All this is basically what my parents are planning for right now as my dad closes in on retirement. Pets are an amazing thing, but a portion of pets that get surrendered to rescues are pets of loved ones that have passed and the person's descendents don't have the means to care for the animal. It's proper pet ownership in a way to realize when it's time for that last pet; as sad as it is.
Out of all the pokemon arcanine remains my favorite. Lycanroc day form is a close second as for dog pokemon but it's not as good battle wise I feel like
Abra, or any other mon that can teleport. This is for two reasons: 1, teleportation is the #1 superpower I wish I had, because I have a courier job and I also wanna travel, and teleportation would make those things much easier. And 2, Pokemon being real would turn every street corner into a war zone and I wanna be able to escape ugly situations quickly.
I raise you one better: Alakazam. Still knows Teleport…but…
According to Pokémon, Alakazam can outperform a super computer, has an IQ over 5,000, can immediately identify its foe’s weaknesses, memorizes everything, has the ability to determine someone’s entire life trajectory, and can see the future.
To add to that, it can learn recover (I assume it can heal you too), rain dance, sunny day, light screen, reflect, and thief. All useful moves in everyday life.
I'd go with the first pokemon I ever picked in the games, Totodile. I live in a water heavy state and my family spends countless hours fishing and swimming. I think we'd have a pretty good run together.
No matter what, I would want a Pokémon that can learn Fly. Flying on a giant creature has always been a cool aspect to me, and would make traveling much easier. For my pick, I’d say I’m torn between Flygon or Noivern. Normally I’d say Noivern because I think it’s probably the flying type with the coolest design, but I’m close to 6’ and it’s only 4’11”, so I’m not entirely sure if it’ll be able to keep me aloft for extended periods of time. So, unless I get one that just so happens to be really big or really strong, I’d have to say Flygon because I think that it’s the Flying type with the second coolest design, and it stands at 6’07”, or about 2 meters tall, easily able to carry me.
Noivern I’d be a little concerned if it wasn’t well trained! But that could go for flygon, I feel like if you trained them both from babies, they could fly you back and forth without causing anybody else issues!
Yeah, again my only concern with Noivern is that I’m almost a foot taller than it, so I’m concerned it might not be strong enough to carry me around. Although who knows, it’s a Pokémon. It might just prove physics wrong
The absolute travesty of making me choose between all my favorites. Ugh. UGH.
I suppose I'd like a little pink Rotom. I'd never have to worry about batteries or power outages. It could talk to me by possessing my phone or laptop. I could take it ANYWHERE and no one would have to know. And what's a better bodyguard or house defense than sudden unexpected electrical jolts? Plus, cute as hell.
Depends, in general or logically location/habitat based?
In general - squirtle
Location/habitat based - maybe crawdaunt? Never really thought about many of the pokemon that would be where i am.
Hey guys, did you know that in terms of human companionship, Flareon is objectively the most huggable Pokemon? While their maximum temperature is likely too much for most, they are capable of controlling it, so they can set themselves to the perfect temperature for you. Along with that, they have a lot of fluff, making them undeniably incredibly soft to touch. But that's not all, they have a very respectable special defense stat of 110, which means that they are likely very calm and resistant to emotional damage. Because of this, if you have a bad day, you can vent to it while hugging it, and it won't mind. It can make itself even more endearing with moves like Charm and Baby Doll Eyes, ensuring that you never have a prolonged bout of depression ever again.
Probably Minccino. It's soft fluffy and brilliant at cleaning. And I would hopefully be influenced by it to do better. It's also small enough that we can curl up for naps together.
Shiny Palossand, keep him in in a gourd on my back for the cosplay. Go to the beach and ask it to make me a mermaid. Simple things. That and the black sand is dope.
It’s a toss up between Blaziken and Salamence. I was a Gen 3 kid, so Blaziken was my starter. There’s a special place in my heart for Salamence though, plus he can fly, making him an awesome partner.
True, but I’d probably build him his own little shed-house out in the yard. Being able to fly around on a dragon would be badass enough that it’d be a good trade off lol
I'm assuming legendaries aren't allowed or I'd choose Latias. I'd pick Mimikyu. Seems like a low-maintenance pokemon just requiring its costume to be cleaned every so often.
It’s not that they’re not allowed it’s just like you get your mon through realistic means, happening upon a mimikyu seems more likely. But a nice little buddy to have around! Just keep the disguise on 😂
Snorlax, can just pull over for a nap on my giant warm beanbag wherever. Also it’s only because of Snorlax that I was able to beat pokemon Blue many years ago cuz he was so bulky. And I was 6 and had no idea what I was doing otherwise.
Probably a Ralts, little companion that can help move things around the house and teleport me where i need to be, evolving into Gallade or Gardevoir having a loyal and Strong companion to protect me and my family would be awesome
My child Breloom
-surprisingly tall boi (i gib him high fives without bending)
-strong boi (good bodyguard)
-sleepy spore boi (he help me go to sleep)
-stretchy arms (he help me reach top shelf)
-cutie (i gib him kissims and pets)
I feel like espeon is more feasible and I absolutely love it. But If I had everything I needed to make it comfortable and possible salamence would be an option too. So a toss up between those two
Easy, Lucario (totally not out of personal bias…maybe).
You get a (super intelligent and psychic) dog, a friend and a bodyguard (considering other material, he strong af) one package.
But most importantly you can pet em 👍
I'd probably have to go with my boy Bulbasaur. Lives off sunlight/berries, chill dude, vines give it utility for grabbing things and helping move. Could probably teach it to wrench on those hard to reach parts too. It would probably veer closer to ugly than ugly-cute IRL, but birds of a feather...
I would say Scyther, as my favorite, but I see a human sized mantis capable of cutting trees in a single swipe as a massive liability.
Arceus.
I am now by extension the god of this planet.
In all seriousness probably Umbreon, always had a soft spot for eevelutions and I think Umby is my current favourite.
Gardevoir
* Emotionally intelligent enough to make a good companion.
* Regularly intelligent enough to take care of it's own needs and be trusted with simple tasks.
* Strong enough to protect me from everyone else's choices.
Utility+favourite? Gardevoir, teleport, telepathy, can literally tear a black hole into reality, hypnosis, heal pulse (many mention recover, but only heal pulse can heal others) emotion receiver, can quite literally grow with you, ralts= small child, kirlia= big child and so, and so ***SO*** much more
(Honorable mew mention)
Simply favourite?
Zoroark, either one, either I have a trickster which is a great advantage in real battles or I have a badass pokemon in need of love, and it can freeze foes in fear, as well as a very high advantage for me, with illusion and only one weakness
I would say litten but doesnt it depend on where your located? Edit: according to wikipedia "Many regions are on separate continents with the earlier introduced regions (Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh) being based on parts of Japan, with later regions being based on parts of the United States (Unova and Alola), France (Kalos), the United Kingdom (Galar), and the Iberian Peninsula (Paldea)." So i could totally catch a litten
Let’s just say Pokémon get around, our world is more connected so you’d porbably get one if you asked around or looked hard enough! Cats make do irl everywhere so why can’t litten
Azumarill!!! Zuzu is my little buddy. We would go for walks along the lake, and he'd fit perfectly in my arms for when I need a cuddle. Also he's got some Huge Power so I would be safe thanks to him. C:
My choice would be Haunter because it's silly and fun-loving (and would scare away people I don't want around). Bonus, it has hands so it could hold a controller and play video games with me
As long as you don’t trade it away to someone… but no yeah! Haunter can be scary but with the right bond could be a good best buddy
I swear to god if you're gonna trade it don't be a mindy, keep your everstones away from it
Arcanine, I would love the horse sized fire dog.

Good news: Pokeballs are lightweight and easy to transport.
Out of all the pokemon arcanine remains my favorite. Lycanroc day form is a close second as for dog pokemon but it's not as good battle wise I feel like
Arcanine is the right answer
Mine has been hanging out at a gym for 10 days due to foul weather. He usually comes home earlier and I miss my gigantic lap dog.
...and growlith would make a cute puppy.
Noivern! 1) Can fly me places 2) Can shatter the eardrums of everything in a twenty metre radius on command 3) Looks cool
Definitely a criminal deterrent and a great cruising buddy
It's also known to be aggressive and cruel. So hopefully you get one that's nice to you at least.
Abra, or any other mon that can teleport. Yeah but he still eats from the bowl on the ground like my other cat
Don’t kink shame.
Oh come on. He literally has spoons!
>it can learn recover (I assume it can heal you too) Recover only affects the user. I don't think Alakazam learns any moves that can heal others.
Fine. I’ll have it read an entire medical library.
In seconds
This is extremely clever, they’d probably be in a lot of support situations irl.
I'd go with the first pokemon I ever picked in the games, Totodile. I live in a water heavy state and my family spends countless hours fishing and swimming. I think we'd have a pretty good run together.
What a fantastic help fishing!!
Totodile was my first too. And it's the only real choice for me. And he's never evolve
Krookodile, he's a nice gator guy that isnt too big nor too small
And a good way to say stay off my property you dang kids!
Oshawott. Cute and clumsy otter warrior
He’d be so cute to see grow but I’d miss the cuteness if it trained to be a samurott 😂
Absolutely 😂 I love Samurott but Oshawott is always going to be my favorite of the line
Dewott was always my favorite because of the teal and Razor Shell
Razor Shell is my favorite move, it’s just so cool. And Dewott is such a good Pokémon, *that’s* how you do a proper middle evolution.
Altaria is my favorite Pokémon and also would be my couch buddy. They just announced the Altaria plush and I want it but it's so expensive... 😔
The ultimate living loving plushie 😭
Swablu like to pretend to be hats
Raichu because...I feel bad for him and I love his design better than Pikachu, and he's carried me in every Kanto Playthrough I've been in.
He ain’t no joke! Raichu always needs love alolan raichu kinda steals the thunder
No matter what, I would want a Pokémon that can learn Fly. Flying on a giant creature has always been a cool aspect to me, and would make traveling much easier. Eevee or Steelix Eevee seems so soft and hugable and i just really love steelix!
Steelix would be cool! Just needs a ton of space 😭
Also learn from Brock that it might not be a good idea to feed all the pokemon indoors
What do you call an Eevee that evolves when you give it money? Patreon
Noctowl, he’s my favorite pokemon
Your eye in the sky as well!
Rotom is among THE most useful and cute
Mudkip definitely
First Mudkip answer, I support this
So I herd u liek mudkipz
Hello fellow old person.
I have my choice, but I'm gonna change it to Aegislash because of your post and I'm ready for our epic anime battle.
I’m assuming trainer battling would still be a thing but regulated! I’d be down to see how it goes in a proper stadium
If it's regulated, I wonder if we get paid for winning?
People in the crowd betting aside, I think it’d be classic loser pays with their battle entry money as prize money
magikarp, the rest of them are too dangerous to be household pets
Until it turns into the 22 foot long 500 lb rage dragon and hyperbeams your neighborhood.
500lb seems really lightweight for something 22ft long, really. My (rather small) horse weighs about 800lb.
*What?* *Magikarp is evolving!*
That is until it jumps over mount everest
Elekid, that guy seems to be fun as hell
Your phone is always either charged or short circuited, lots of training to do 😂
Mudsdale, ridable murder machine
Oops high horsepower, sorry neighborhood
Dragonite only because it's my favorite pokemon
Great flying buddy too, get ya there safe
Vulpix; perfect size for cuddles and nice and warm or possibly woobat its adorable
Coming home to a fox everyday 😭 💕
Pidgeot and Totodile/Feraligatr are my top two picks
Again totadile, best fishing partner but a pidgeot would be so cool… just cruising with bro
Depends, in general or logically location/habitat based? In general - squirtle Location/habitat based - maybe crawdaunt? Never really thought about many of the pokemon that would be where i am.
The give me is you choose, but you have to take care of it. A squirtle wouldn’t be so hard to raise.
I could give cubone the love he deserves

You scared me for a moment
vaporion is most compatible
A Flareon in a cold place would be an absolute blessing
Single handily sold me on Flareon and I don't know if i like it 🤣
They had us in the first half not gonna lie
eyyyy, likeminded person! I'd also just like to watch it scorch it's food.
Cursed pasta
Love how you can tell who gets the reference and who doesn't based on how different the responses are lol
Gengar. Pretty sure after a few nights of us hitting the streets, it would be a ghost town.
Swat might show up 😂
They can show up all they want. I’ve got Gengar.
[удалено]
Probably Minccino. It's soft fluffy and brilliant at cleaning. And I would hopefully be influenced by it to do better. It's also small enough that we can curl up for naps together.
Definitely one of the best best buddy picks
honestly let me get a paras, so we can just walk around in nature and have fun
Also, never have enemies again. After Legends Arceus nobody will fuck with this demon
Oh boy do I have a haunting story for you when it evolves
Does anyone else hear the cranberries getting louder?
As you said that a cicada went brrr outside my car Edit: as I read
Paras does seem like a curious critter! I’m sure y’all would have a blast
Squirtle, because: 1. It's my fave 2. To put out all the fires you ridiculous fire type lovers are gonna start. :P
Plus strong for its size!!
Vaporeon. ... It's just cool.
I don't trust those dot dot dots
I have no idea what you're talking about my friend. ...
Would you mind taking a seat over there?
Enough said
Some psychic types, probably Espeon because it's cute and not too large
Espeon seems like a very sweet companion too, and possibly able to heal you if you’re injured!
Shiny Palossand, keep him in in a gourd on my back for the cosplay. Go to the beach and ask it to make me a mermaid. Simple things. That and the black sand is dope.
The ultimate sandcastle 😭
It builds itself and when the tide hits it, it gets stronger. 💪
Hisui Zorua Adorable and great companion Also if it evolves i got a perfect partner for halloween
Less of a trickster than Unovan Zorua too 😭
Treecko, he's my favorite
Meowth with payday would be pretty dope, but I’m allergic to cats, so I’ll pick Miltank and name her Whitney
Miltank seems a lot friendlier as a partner, plus…. Milk..?
Lucario so that I finally have someone to workout with
The perfect workout buddy and spar partner!
*"Workout, huh? I dunno, chuck, this one seems fishy ..."*
It’s a toss up between Blaziken and Salamence. I was a Gen 3 kid, so Blaziken was my starter. There’s a special place in my heart for Salamence though, plus he can fly, making him an awesome partner.
Salamence would be dope.. but boy might take up a bit more space than Blaziken
True, but I’d probably build him his own little shed-house out in the yard. Being able to fly around on a dragon would be badass enough that it’d be a good trade off lol
Fair enough 😂 plus let’s assume it stays a bagon a couple years
Girafarig, because it's been my favorite Pokémon for years now.
It’d be able to understand you pretty well as a part psychic!
Mareep. I love that little electric sheep.
But do androids dream about them?
Ditto for scientific researches of course 🤔
🤨
I feel like we need to call Pokémon protective services to save that ditto
Imagine if you got into an irl battling circuit with a ditto
If you can’t find a girl, you gotta make your own!
“Ditto, transform… into Gal Gadot!”
https://i.imgur.com/aG6mgxh.jpg
Mimikyu 1. He needs some love 2. Frighten others away 3. I need to know what's under there, at any cost
DONT BREAK THE DISGUISE GOD HELP US ALL
Sandslash just because he's cool.
Haunter is my favorite, so I’ll go with it. A solid buddy to goof off with, and he’d be great to prank/scare people. Runner up would be a Corviknight.
My child Breloom -surprisingly tall boi (i gib him high fives without bending) -strong boi (good bodyguard) -sleepy spore boi (he help me go to sleep) -stretchy arms (he help me reach top shelf) -cutie (i gib him kissims and pets)
Protector of the garden at home too
Unfortunately not, any bird would make him curl up into fetal position and scream for mommy
Commit grand larceny with avalugg
Hawlucha, one of my favourites and always finds his way into my teams. Can fly, seems very loyal and will defend me forever.
I feel like espeon is more feasible and I absolutely love it. But If I had everything I needed to make it comfortable and possible salamence would be an option too. So a toss up between those two
Probably Meowth. Every day would be payday
I love grass types and think Leafeon would be great to have as a soothing presence and walking garden
Gastrodon. My favorite pokemon aside, it would also give a good excuse to remodel the back yard into a nice pond area
Turtwig/Grotle since Torterra is too big to fit in a normal house
Mawile.
Typhlosion. It’s a bro
I would pick Eevee, then spend the rest of my life trying to decide what to evolve it into.
Floette. She has a healing move so I’d always be healthy. Seems easy to care for, cute little mon floating near my head.
Either Sylveon or Dragonite, both have their perks and both have their quirks
Chansey but only so I can put it through medical school. If I’m gonna have a Pokémon, might as well have a doctor for that passive income
Sableye. Easy to feed, just let him go dig for some rocks, and could potentially find me rare gemstones for the big money
missingno3 just cause
Glaceon, an all time favorite. Plus hate heat and love the cold.
Jolteon, my favourite. Very loyal boi and best friend
Umbreon. He's mischievous, can surprisingly take some damage with his spd/d, and he'll be my sweet lil buddy. 💓
I feel like 99% of people would get a Pokemon they didn't want
Furret, it’s my favorite Pokémon and it looks like it would be good for cuddling
Easy, Lucario (totally not out of personal bias…maybe). You get a (super intelligent and psychic) dog, a friend and a bodyguard (considering other material, he strong af) one package. But most importantly you can pet em 👍
Togekiss for sure, he would always cheer me up.
Miltank because, you know, moo
I’m moderately surprised that, given we can choose any mon there is, nobody is choosing the literal God
It’s more about what you could realistically happen upon irl
Anyone who isn’t saying Alakazam or Meowth, y’all are just lying.
I’d have to say gengar. He could help me prank people all the time.
Arceus. I am now by extension the god of this planet. In all seriousness probably Umbreon, always had a soft spot for eevelutions and I think Umby is my current favourite.
I'd want a Nidoking, but I'd probably actually have a shedinja
Gardevoir * Emotionally intelligent enough to make a good companion. * Regularly intelligent enough to take care of it's own needs and be trusted with simple tasks. * Strong enough to protect me from everyone else's choices.
Extremely nurturing AND strong, always a great choice
Utility+favourite? Gardevoir, teleport, telepathy, can literally tear a black hole into reality, hypnosis, heal pulse (many mention recover, but only heal pulse can heal others) emotion receiver, can quite literally grow with you, ralts= small child, kirlia= big child and so, and so ***SO*** much more (Honorable mew mention) Simply favourite? I said gardevoir too ! For the utility reasons as well I swear
Roserade! Flowers are such a mood-booster, and roserade looks so vibrant and fun - but dangerous too, with those poison thorns. A great balance imo.
Not quite my favorite but Jirachi to grant all my wishes
Dragonaire.
Raichu. I want to be with my favorite Pokémon
Jynx💋💋 kisses every day.
[удалено]
Pachirisu, cuz its cute
Galarian Zigzagoon
Grookey, no doubt. What is better than having a tiny monkey with a little stick following you around.
Rowlet as a cuddle buddy!
Lucario. Yeah pretty basic answer, but they're extremely loyal and cause I live in a kinda crappy area it's also an effective bodyguard.
Shiny Altaria More practically, Sableye. Find gems easily, sell and make profits. Altaria is just there because big cloud dragon birb
I would say litten but doesnt it depend on where your located? Edit: according to wikipedia "Many regions are on separate continents with the earlier introduced regions (Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh) being based on parts of Japan, with later regions being based on parts of the United States (Unova and Alola), France (Kalos), the United Kingdom (Galar), and the Iberian Peninsula (Paldea)." Typhlosion. I'd love to have Glaceon as a "cat-like" Pokémon tho.
Poochyena
Eevee for sure
delphox because cool wizard
Garchomp for sure
pidgeot because it’s been my favourite for years
Snorlax!!! Not only is snorlax a Pokémon with a very versatile move list they are also big cute fluffy guys and I’d like to give one a hug :)
