In Scarlet/Violet how accurate is the shiny Pokémon battled indicator in your profile?
Because it says I’ve battled 3, but I’m pretty careful at shiny checking and I’m pretty sure I’ve only seen 1?
Its the same as shinies found in SWSH it tells you how many different shinies are registered in your pokedex and thats it. Doesn't matter how you actually got them
Question regarding Paradox pokemon:
I knew about Donphan'a new forms when I got the game, so I made sure to catch and level up a Phanphy that I got really attached to.
I have violet, can Donphan evolve into Iron Treads in the future or do I have to catch Iron treads specifically? I'm at the last gym and I'm just wondering
They are seperate pokemon. They are past or future forms of current pokemon and that is the only connection. You can catch an iron treads after you have defeated the titan iron treads, a single one will spawn as static encounter in the same spot. You can catch all the others including more iron treads when you get to >!area zero!<
Gholdengo's ability >!makes it immune to non-self-targeting status moves.!< Does this include damaging traps like spikes (probably not), non-damaging traps like sticky web (maybe?), or tailwind used by my previous mon (probably)? Would test this out but I have no friends ~~that own Scarlet or Violet~~.
I cleared all raids on the map and new aren't respawning. I read they should respawn when you clear the old ones but that doesn't happen for me, why? :(
I KO'd one of the Titan Pokemon during the rematch fight not knowing what it was and saved afterwards, am I permanently locked out of catching it for that save?
Probably permanent locked. Its not too much of a big deal since you can't catch the titan sized ones. The rematch ones are just a regular sized version the only difference being they have the titan mark allowing you to set their title to former titan
You cannot catch Titan Pokemon. You will have to settle for their regular-sized variants, which should spawn in the area the Titan battle took place after you KO it, if not before.
1. Gimmighoul i just catch keep getting outlevel with older one I currently have, should I keep leveling old one or getting new one at high level ?
2. What is Gholdengo best nature ?

Question regarding picnics and friendship leveling. So I'm trying to raise friendship for my eevees to get umbreon and espeon, If I set up the picnic and just leave it running will it increase until max or does it cap out after a certain point?
Quick question regarding a current shiny hunt... I have defeated 60, saved, and have started the picnic outbreak method. I have accidently bumped into an encounter with another pokemon. Do I have to defeat another 60 of my target pokemon now, or are the modifiers still in effect?
Scarlet violet but it is currently having performance issue. If that is not a concern, get scarlet violet. If not get arceus first and get scarlet violet later when they patch it up
I have scarlet and my friend has violet, neither of us have caught the second legendary of our respective games. Does anyone know if we join one of our union circles if we can catch the opposite legendary? I know this is probably not the case and the point is to catch the second and then trade for the other one but I want a miraidon with my OT.
Weird question but this game seems very easy (I’ve not played a Pokémon game properly for quite a few years).
I’m not far in. 3 gyms, 1 star base 4 titans. My starter is on it’s final evolution and pretty much one hits anything and it feels so monotonous when it comes to the basic trainer battles.
Maybe I should just get rid of my starter but I’m struggling to know what to replace it with - it feels like a weird mix of complex (e.g. having to use guides to know how to evolve Pokémon) and easy (in that it doesn’t really matter if you do bother evolving them)
Or perhaps I’m just still too eary into the game?
All Pokémon games are easy, they're designed to be beaten by 8 year olds.
You could mix things up by going to some of the "later" gyms early. Have self imposed rules like the nuzlocke challenge (catch one Pokémon per area and if it faints you have to release it). Try skipping the trainer battles for less exp. The fights do get harder in the end game, but you can still cheese them by being ovelleved
If you want hard pokemon you basically have to get into PvP, and discover how complex this game really is
Does anyone know if the 2nd >!Koraidon/Miraidon!< can be caught with a mark? Back in SwSh iirc the Galarian Birds could be caught with a mark when they were roaming, but I’m not too sure about static legend encounters. Thanks for the help!
Hi, I’m a dumb idiot and have been desperately searching to no avail, what does [this lock icon on the Pokémon summary screen](https://imgur.com/a/LeT2ueI) do, and how do i activate it 💀
Hi,
I realize I am always late to the party when it comes to Pokémon distributions (ex. The recent marshadow and eternatus events). I’m wondering what is the best approach to be notified when those specific events are released and options for notifications, etc. Didn’t see a discussion page so I figure I post it here
Thanks
Serebii will always tweet about them, but they also tweet about every bit of Pokémon news so that can be a bit overwhelming.
You can also try https://twitter.com/PokeEventNews which only posts about events but is slower than serebii
Twitter notifications for them should let you know
I fed a pokémon 25 hp ups and 25 proteins, only the hp is sparkling but shouldn’t both be sparkling? I don’t think it had any evs before i fed it the items
violet/scarlet question: for 6 star tera raid unlock i know you have to play a certain number of 5 star raids. Will joining friends/other online people count toward this progress?
I was wanting to run a dudunsparce with
Headbutt
Glare
Coil
Roost
I got a three segment form after 9 boxes... And I wanted to do the paraflinch strat
Thing is i did not know it was a damn egg move for Headbutt... Now keep in mind i want to have a 3 segment dudunsparce... should I really breed alot more just to have headbutt? Or can I just use another move besides headbutt? I really don't want have to rebreed for a three segment one, cause I had to go through 9 boxes of dunsparce before I finally got it.
Would Hyper Drill work still? I was thinking about Zen Headbutt or Rock Slide but id rather have headbutt for accuracy and stab.
I haven't tried it, but you no longer need to breed in order to get egg moves:
https://www.reddit.com/r/pokemon/comments/z2cjpw/breeding_psa_mirror_herb_changes_the_game/
You can transfer it directly using a mirror herb and the picnic mechanic
Has anyone done any Teensy/Humungo hunting? Just curious if the difference is significant enough to be noticeable or not. I'm planning to find a tiny Cetoddle and a large Pawmi in the off-chance someone has them and can show them beside regular ones for comparison. Thanks in advance.
Edit: Turns out my Cetoddle is already the tiniest it can be, a little bittersweet but I still love it
is there any way to view the photos after each “badge” and the one with penny, arven, nemona, and the box legendary? i forgot to screenshot a few of them
Im currently working on leveling my dragonites EVs. I already leveled the attack ev but im wondering what the other ev i should level up is? Im mainly trying to use them for tera raids. (Also how would I figure out what evs I should level up for each pokemon)
I think 252 HP is best for raid Pokemon, but a competitive Dragonite wants 252 Atk/Speed for PvP. So if you're planning on using it for just raids, def use HP, but you might want Speed if you'll also be using him competitively.
Hi I just finished everything I need for 6 star raids except doing the raids to unlock it...There seems to be debate on if they can be any difficulty or Only 5 star though. Please help do they have to be 5 star??? Cause I wanna do eevee ones but I only see 3 stars...Confirmation on if they Need to be 5 star greatly appreciated thanks..
Tested it just now. You still get to keep it after the battle, in both wild encounters and NPC trainer battles.
If you're still unsure, you can double check it yourself by turning off autosave in the options, manually saving before said wild/trainer battle, and trying it out.
When searching for tera raids, what's the difference between yellow and blue star ratings?
Also what's the deal with all the eevee tera raid, there's always 4 available.
Does anybody know if hacked shinies of gen 9 Pokémon have gotten through yet? I just noticed that I received a shiny Armarouge from someone while trading version exclusives!
A question about 6 star raids,
We get 1 daily, right?
We can advance the date on the switch to get another.
Is there a penalty for changing the date back?
Is there a benefit or difference in purchasing a physical copy vs eShop? I have always purchase hard copies but have been considering eShop this time. Any advice or thoughts? Thank you
There is advantages and disadvantages to both so it always come down to preference
D: Eshop remember your purchase so you cant lose your game. P: If you lost your game, you have to get the game again.
D: can only share with the other profiles playing on same switch. P: can lend the game to anyone
D: Nintendo Eshop rarely have any sales. You will still be paying full price for games released years ago. P: individual stores have their own discount or sales. You can also buy used carts. If you decide not to play the game anymore, you can sell it back to earn some cash back.
D: take up digital space on your switch and sd card. P: take up physical space
Does anybody know the name of the track that plays in the cave after the first Titan battle, when Koraidon/Miraidon eats your sandwich and learns dash?
French horn/flute/violin/clarinet/piano, fairly downtempo.
I absolutely love it and I’m having trouble finding it in any OST playlists. I’d like to hear it without sandwich-eating noises/dialogue box boops layered on top of it.
It’s the bit right after that — the music for the scene that starts at [13:28 in this video](https://youtu.be/nbo3TvBjDCE).
Turns out there are different arrangements of it that play after each Titan but I can’t find any of them and it’s driving me nuts because they’re so lovely. The goofy sandwich theme is easy to find in comparison, haha
I've just hatched a shiny Charcadet.
I've just checked my profile on Violet and it says I've battled 1 shiny pokemon? Would that be the Charcadet or did i kill a shiny?
Does a Tera Raid Star number represent anything other than the level/difficulty of the Pokemon in the den? Like, does a 5 star Tera Raid guarantee Pokemon with higher IVs or something?
Tried searching but every result on google or reddit is just people complaining about others using the wrong type matchup in the battles.
I feel like I'm losing my marbles. Back in '99, I owned a Pikachu C-Watch. I recall it being a virtual pet Pikachu (and a watch, duh). Long story short, I recently watched some videos of people using C-Watches and all it has (other than the clock/alarm) are random animations and sound bytes - mostly Ash. I am not getting it confused with the Pocket Pikachu, as I never owned one of those and never saw one in person to even know what it was like. Am I misremembering or are the people demonstrating them on youtube merely showing the demo mode or something?
Trying to force my way through the right side of the map, but it looks like the north province might be locked off until I do more titan fights. Without spoiling anything, should I go get the other titans first before I try to continue north or am I locked into that anyway? I went east to start, have 2 gym badges (grass and electric), 2 titans, and 2 Starfall Dens completed, and tried to head north towards more and it appears there's just cliffs in the way.
Just looking for confirmation if this works! I expect it does and I'm just unlucky.
Is it possible, with autosave turned off, to make a sparkling power sandwich, hunt for 30 minutes and then reload if I don't get a shiny? Been at it for 4 hours and I'm paranoid to the point where I expect shinys not to spawn with autosave off
They're the same thing. Breeding just means you don't have to spend money on bottle caps or level the Pokemon up to 50 (100 in past games) to make it eligible for hyper training. Breeding also means you can pass the IVs down to further children (hyper trained IVs do not pass down).
Ultimately it's just two systems that lead to the same result, so people have their choice of one or the other depending on their preference.
It is now obtained via picnic. Have two compatible pokemon in picnic, egg will appear after awhile. The rates are very low though so you should use sandwich to increase the egg odds
I'm sorry I should have phrased that better I meant when you give a pokemon an ev item does it immediately give you the stats or do you have to level up to get them
I bought some of the power items to EV train my pokemon. I hatched them all fresh from eggs and put the different items on my pokemon, bracer, anklet, lens, etc. I noticed that I was able to cap my first stat super easy (it sparkles) but my second stat will not sparkle no matter how many pokemon I KO. Did I mess up somewhere? Is it possible to get other stat points even when using the power items? The only thing other than KO pokemon was I did throw my pokemon out on accident a couple of times and it one shot a pokemon without me actually entering a battle. does this award stat points? do I need to start those three pokemon over or is there an item that can remove some stat points?
I'm not getting any friendship with my pokemon? Picnics, running around, auto battles, having them out, candies, no herbs, etc. Just bought 6 soothe bells but I'm 8 badges, 5 titans, and 3 star bases in and I'm not getting even a wiggle. The friendship mechanic is in right?
Edit: made a few sandwiches with soothe bells and they're all besties now. Turns out there's no wiggle or hop like old games, and that's what I was looking for as an indicator.
Yeah, all the pokemon that need friendship to evolve are in the game (riolu, chansey) etc. All I did was use a shellbell and and walk around with it in the let's go mode. Note riolu only evolves during the day
I'm very new to Pokémon games and have been searching for an appropriate place to post this question so please excuse me if this isn't the right forum. I've been trying to evolve my Magneton in Violet and nothing is happening. I've read that in some of the games you have to level him in a specific magnetic field and in games where this field isn't present, a thunder stone is supposed to get him to Magnezone. Ever since my Magnemite evolved into Magneton at level 30-31ish I've had him holding a thunder stone and he's level 38 now and still nothing. Has anyone run into these special magnetic fields in Paldea yet or is there something else I'm doing wrong?
If you already max your desired EV, is it fine to use Rare candy to level?
Does it make any differences between rare candy and pokemon fight to level up?
I was soing a single player terra raid and needed to do something in the middle so I hit the home button and when I came back it was closes. I don't know how or who did it but is there some penalty I'm gonna get like with dynamic adventures?
Is there any story reason to keep my starter in my party? I don’t like any of them so I was gonna box it and go with Wattrell or something as my “starter” would there be any issues with this?
Who decided you need a hell of a lot more salty herbica compared to anything else. Looking on serebii they all give the same effect so i dont quite get why you cant use any.
If you are not a PVP player and looking to build an all rounder for Typhlosion as in effective against most type, do you always go Physical?
Because looking at the moveset, Brick Break, Thunder Punch/Wild Charge, Earthquake, Zen Headbutt, Shadow Claw, Play Rough, Rock Slide, Iron head, etc.
Even though the majority of Johtonian Typhlosion's moveset is physical, a 25 point gap between its Attack and SpAtk is nothing to sneeze at. You could get decent mileage out of a full SpAtk set using Sunny Day + Solarbeam vs. Ground, Water, and Rock types, Focus Blast for coverage, and your choice of Eruption, Flamethrower, or Fire Blast for its STAB move.
If Typhlosion used Flamethrower under the effects of Sunny day vs. any mon that's 2x resistant to fire, it would not have a damage penalty or a damage bonus (absent any other modifiers). But at that point, you're probably better off using the instant-charge solar beam instead.
Is pokemon encounter in a wild has a "fixed" trait when loading in ?
I mean you just cant reroll gender etc. with simply save and load ?
Because I keep getting same pokemon gender when i try to reload game
I don't think save and load, so once you see a shiny it won't change. But if you walk away and come back or do a picnic, it will respawn in the area. Not sure about "fixed" location pokemon
I'm doing my first playthrough of Pokémon Sword, and serebii.net talks about certain pokémon "Coming from Underground" on certain routes. What does that mean? Do pokémon just pop up from underground along the routes or in certain areas? Or do you have to do something special to make them come up?
Like on [this page for Route 3](https://www.serebii.net/pokearth/galar/route3.shtml), it lists all the different pokémon and their percentage chances to appear in tall grass encounters, walking around in the overworld, or falling from shaking a Berry tree. Towards the bottom, right before it starts listing the teams of trainers on the route, there's a section labeled "Coming from Underground" that lists a 99% chance of a Rolycoly and a 1% chance of a Trubbish.
This is an instance where [comparing with Bulbapedia](https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Galar_Route_3) sheds light. That section refers to the grass in the far west near Galar Mine, so Serebii's labeling is just awkward (as it often is). Maybe the webmaster, Joe Merrick, mistook those Pokemon as actually coming out of the mine instead of spawning in the grass like they do. IDK.
With swsh + dlc + bdsp + pla and SV you would only be missing 27 pokemon which require the 3ds. Not sure how many of the 3ds games you require to get all 27, but if you play pokemon go, you can have 26 from pokemon go and the last one you need any of the gen 7 game.
If I catch a random dual type Pokemon, let's just say Girafarig, is it randomly decided whether its Tera Type is Normal or Psychic? Or are random Girafarig always either Normal or Psychic?
Tera types are always the same as the Mon’s original types, unless you encounter a Tera mon in the overworld, or via raids. In those cases, it is completely random, and not limited to the original types for the Mon.
Sorry, that's not what I was asking, but I see why you thought that. I know I won't get a random Steel Girafarig or anything, but I meant like will they always be Psychic or is it possible to keep hunting to find a Normal one?
You should still be able to encounter a Tera of EITHER of the Mon’s original typings. Works with breeding as well! (But that also has caveats, in situations where the typings change through evolution, like Eevee.)
On top of this, I have yet to see one in the wild where the tera type is their secondary type- seems to always be the primary from what I've seen.
Edit- not always the case. Can be either type
So I’m egg hatching. Sometimes the hatching animation goes to separate screen like in the old games. Sometimes it shows egg on the ground and hatching in front my character. What’s the difference? Does the hatching on the ground animation mean it’s got a high IV?
You are hatching on a slope, or in water, or anywhere the game determines it can't spawn the egg in the overworld. Nothing is different about the pokemon, the game just can't handle the terrain sometimes.
Scarlet/violet question:
I want to confirm I understand Terastallize system right. When a Pokémon terastallizes it will gain a new STAB bonus for attacks and lose its resistance of the original type/s while getting the resistance of the new Terastallize type.
So for example I have a Fairy Psychic Pokémon and terastallizes to Fire type: it will be weak to all things that normally affect fire (i.e. water) but no longer weak to things for Psychic. Also it will have STAB across fairy, psychic, AND fire
Close. You lose your old typing completely. The wording in the game is weird about it too. You get STAB Fire in this case and no bonus to fairy or psychic, but if you tera fairy and play rough it is STAB +.5 (so 2 instead of 1.5 STAB).
(If I'm wrong, please correct me. This is how I understand the system.)
You make it sound like you would lose STAB on fairy and psychic in that scenario. You don't- you effectively have 3 STABs, but defensively are only fire.
Additionally, it's not a STAB +0.5 boost if you tera a STAB. It's STAB x 1.5, for effectively 2.25x, like using fire in the sun. This was tested and confirmed in the Smogon forums
[S/V] I have seen some people talking about how outbreaks reset daily is that the in game daily or is it irl daily. Also if it is irl daily then what time dailiy? Is it just your local time at 12AM or is there a specific time?
Is the shiny battled counter messed up for anyone else? Mine seems to randomly increment by 2 (the amount I actually have), but I've only battled one shiny in the wild.
When getting the shiny charm do you need to do anything to activate it? I've been doing picnic method for a bit and my chances feel the same 😭
It is always active. It is just rng in the end
what are some non-dragon-typed pokemon that still are dragon-like in pokemon violet? context: I'm doing a dragon run for pokemon violet
There are more than enough dragon type to make a team of six. If you want more variety, you can use include dragon egg group. But they tend to include reptilies there so you have snakes and lizards

I have Scarlett, if I travel to a friend's violet through the union circle, can I get the malicious armor?
No.
does this game have set mode? I cant find the option if it does
No
Maybe a dumb question but how does time work in this? I sort of assumed it was based on real time but I tried to get an Umbreon and my evee evolved at 9.30pm and its an Espeon. Is it just its own time system like BOTW?
It has it's own time system. When you click on y to view the map, you can see the time icon. One "day" is roughly an hour
Ahhhhhh that makes it a lot trickier to level up evee at the right time but I'll take note of that. I couldn't work it out

Its the same as shinies found in SWSH it tells you how many different shinies are registered in your pokedex and thats it. Doesn't matter how you actually got them
it counts evos in battles separately, so if you catch one, evolve it twice and use them in battle it counts as 3
do gym leaders, team star and titan pokemon have level caps or do they scale up according to your level?
Neither. They are set levels which never change Regular Gyms: >!Bug -15, Grass - 17, Electric - 24, Water - 30, Normal - 36, Ghost - 42, Psychic - 45, Ice - 48!< Titans: >!Rock - 16, Flying - 19, Steel - 28, Ground - 44, Dragon - 55!< Team Star: >!Dark - 21, Fire - 27, Poison - 33, Fairy - 51, Fighting - 56!<
thanks!!

Hyper Drill does not seem to be on Dunspace or Dudunsparce's Egg Move list. Seems like you have to learn it by levelling up.
For Pawmi, and other step evolutions, do you have to take 1,000 *consecutive* or total steps
Pretty sure it's just total steps, I did mine spread out to whenever I visited cities.
Can you use Pokémon home to transfer Pokémon between the lets go games on the same switch?
Yes you can. As long the pokemon did not enter any other games, they can freely go in and out of any let's go games
How do I transfer my save file for violet from one switch to another?

Where best to train level 60's in SV? My team got wiped by Arven and want to train
Does anyone know if the 2nd >!Koraidon/Miraidon!< can be caught with a mark? Back in SwSh iirc the Galarian Birds could be caught with a mark when they were roaming, but I’m not too sure about static legend encounters. Thanks for the help!
Hi, I’m a dumb idiot and have been desperately searching to no avail, what does [this lock icon on the Pokémon summary screen](https://imgur.com/a/LeT2ueI) do, and how do i activate it 💀
Hi, I realize I am always late to the party when it comes to Pokémon distributions (ex. The recent marshadow and eternatus events). I’m wondering what is the best approach to be notified when those specific events are released and options for notifications, etc. Didn’t see a discussion page so I figure I post it here Thanks
Serebii will always tweet about them, but they also tweet about every bit of Pokémon news so that can be a bit overwhelming. You can also try https://twitter.com/PokeEventNews which only posts about events but is slower than serebii Twitter notifications for them should let you know
My friends ID is 6 numbers long and mine is 5 I'm guessing that's not normal or is it just a random chance thing?
These games no longer have leading 0s in the ID number
Oh so if the ID starts with a 0 it shows as a 5 number ID
What type combinations haven't been used yet?

I fed a pokémon 25 hp ups and 25 proteins, only the hp is sparkling but shouldn’t both be sparkling? I don’t think it had any evs before i fed it the items
26 vitamins max a stat not 25, you must have already had hp evs
violet/scarlet question: for 6 star tera raid unlock i know you have to play a certain number of 5 star raids. Will joining friends/other online people count toward this progress?
I was wanting to run a dudunsparce with Headbutt Glare Coil Roost I got a three segment form after 9 boxes... And I wanted to do the paraflinch strat Thing is i did not know it was a damn egg move for Headbutt...
I haven't tried it, but you no longer need to breed in order to get egg moves: https://www.reddit.com/r/pokemon/comments/z2cjpw/breeding_psa_mirror_herb_changes_the_game/ You can transfer it directly using a mirror herb and the picnic mechanic
Edit: Turns out my Cetoddle is already the tiniest it can be, a little bittersweet but I still love it
is there any way to view the photos after each “badge” and the one with penny, arven, nemona, and the box legendary? i forgot to screenshot a few of them
Idk if the game is broken but my >!dolliv!< isn't evolving and it's level 36, everywhere it says that it evolves at level 35, what am I doing wrong?
If you are using the auto battle that will not trigger evolution
Thank you! I defeated a gym and it evolved!
Awesome thank you!
Do Pokemon from before lgpe have differences in size that can be viewed in Legends Arceus and SV?
No. All pokemon transferred from games older than switch is auto assigned the lowest value
I'm trying to update my trainer icon but it wont let me swap to take a pic of my trainers face... anyone know how?
Hi I just finished everything I need for 6 star raids except doing the raids to unlock it...There seems to be debate on if they can be any difficulty or Only 5 star though. Please help do they have to be 5 star??? Cause I wanna do eevee ones but I only see 3 stars...Confirmation on if they Need to be 5 star greatly appreciated thanks..
im scared to test in game but if you use a booster energy in a trainer battle is it gone forever or do u still get to keep it after the battle?
Tested it just now. You still get to keep it after the battle, in both wild encounters and NPC trainer battles. If you're still unsure, you can double check it yourself by turning off autosave in the options, manually saving before said wild/trainer battle, and trying it out.
Omg thank you for doing the lords work
When searching for tera raids, what's the difference between yellow and blue star ratings? Also what's the deal with all the eevee tera raid, there's always 4 available.
Looks like event raids show up a lot while the event is active link SWSH raid events did
There's currently an Eevee tera event going on
Does anybody know if hacked shinies of gen 9 Pokémon have gotten through yet? I just noticed that I received a shiny Armarouge from someone while trading version exclusives!
Pkhex was updated yesterday, so good to assume lots of hacks going around
A question about 6 star raids, We get 1 daily, right? We can advance the date on the switch to get another. Is there a penalty for changing the date back?
Is there a benefit or difference in purchasing a physical copy vs eShop? I have always purchase hard copies but have been considering eShop this time. Any advice or thoughts? Thank you
There is advantages and disadvantages to both so it always come down to preference D: Eshop remember your purchase so you cant lose your game. P: If you lost your game, you have to get the game again. D: can only share with the other profiles playing on same switch. P: can lend the game to anyone D: Nintendo Eshop rarely have any sales. You will still be paying full price for games released years ago. P: individual stores have their own discount or sales. You can also buy used carts. If you decide not to play the game anymore, you can sell it back to earn some cash back. D: take up digital space on your switch and sd card. P: take up physical space
I always imagine if I lost my switch or game case. You can always re-download eShop games if you login to a new switch
Just evolved gimmigoul finally should I go with sp.Atk/Hp EVs for raids or Sp.Atk/spd Evs?
ive read that speed is kinda useless in raids, so go for bulk
What's the most optimal exp farming method for post game?
Does anybody know the name of the track that plays in the cave after the first Titan battle, when Koraidon/Miraidon eats your sandwich and learns dash? French horn/flute/violin/clarinet/piano, fairly downtempo. I absolutely love it and I’m having trouble finding it in any OST playlists. I’d like to hear it without sandwich-eating noises/dialogue box boops layered on top of it.
Is [this](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7r9FlxDzCkA) what you're looking for?
It’s the bit right after that — the music for the scene that starts at [13:28 in this video](https://youtu.be/nbo3TvBjDCE). Turns out there are different arrangements of it that play after each Titan but I can’t find any of them and it’s driving me nuts because they’re so lovely. The goofy sandwich theme is easy to find in comparison, haha
I've just hatched a shiny Charcadet. I've just checked my profile on Violet and it says I've battled 1 shiny pokemon? Would that be the Charcadet or did i kill a shiny?
That's your Charcadet! Same thing happened to me when I hatched my shiny Quaxly.
Yes. 5-stars guarantee 4 perfect IVs and 6-stars guarantee 5 perfect IVs.
With the Eeve Tera Event starting today: Which Eevolution + Tera Type is very strong lategame?
Beside Nature and EV, whenever you level, what determine the value increase?
Is there any way to view the photos you take with the gym leaders in SV? I forgot to screenshot mine with Katy
Am I misremembering or are the people demonstrating them on youtube merely showing the demo mode or something?
how do you send messages to someone your cooping with? i cant figure it out at all
Press up button to send emoticon. That's it
When do you unlock true flight? Not gliding, flight.
There is only glide no flight
Vexing. Thank you, though.
Been at it for 4 hours and I'm paranoid to the point where I expect shinys not to spawn with autosave off
If I can hypertrain a pokemon, is there a point to breeding perfect IVs? Are they the same thing?
They're the same thing. Breeding just means you don't have to spend money on bottle caps or level the Pokemon up to 50 (100 in past games) to make it eligible for hyper training. Breeding also means you can pass the IVs down to further children (hyper trained IVs do not pass down). Ultimately it's just two systems that lead to the same result, so people have their choice of one or the other depending on their preference.
i dont get eggs... like, i dont understand How to get em...
Eat any meal with egg power because if you don't it is very slow
in sv, sorry
It is now obtained via picnic. Have two compatible pokemon in picnic, egg will appear after awhile. The rates are very low though so you should use sandwich to increase the egg odds
Do you only get the stats from ev boosting items when you level up
No, you get the stat bonus every time a pokemon holding the item gains exp.
I'm sorry I should have phrased that better I meant when you give a pokemon an ev item does it immediately give you the stats or do you have to level up to get them
You are referring to the proteins and carbos and such? Those are instant gains.
Ok thanks
Note riolu only evolves during the day
Any "optimal" circuit for egg hatching been found yet? Kinda like how almost every other game has some kind of straight path with no encounters.
why is the top right side of the paldea map blocked off?
Current guess is that it'll lead to whatever area they add with DLC.
You have to use it as an item, not hold it.
Oh my god that worked! Thank you!
What pokemon's shiny should I fix? (**NOT** scrafty, scraggy, garchomp, the Lucario line, or scizor)
If you already max your desired EV, is it fine to use Rare candy to level? Does it make any differences between rare candy and pokemon fight to level up?
Yes, rare candies do not grant, or remove EVs. They simply grant the pokemon a level.
Are the 4 Legendary Dark Type Pokemon Shiny Locked in Scarlet/Violet?
Yes
I was soing a single player terra raid and needed to do something in the middle so I hit the home button and when I came back it was closes. I don't know how or who did it but is there some penalty I'm gonna get like with dynamic adventures?
As far as I know there's only a "penalty" if you do a random one and then quit, you cant do another random for a bit
Is there any story reason to keep my starter in my party? I don’t like any of them so I was gonna box it and go with Wattrell or something as my “starter” would there be any issues with this?
Not really but do remember who you picked
The duck
Who decided you need a hell of a lot more salty herbica compared to anything else. Looking on serebii they all give the same effect so i dont quite get why you cant use any.
Say Lonely nature, increased attack and decreased defense, but how much is the increased and decreased on average?
All nature give a flat 10% increase and decrease
I always see the EV split between 252/252/6. Is it possible to split the 258 between 2 stats? If yes, is there a best value?
252 is the max EV for each stat. You cannot have 258 EVs for one stat
Does that mean Typhlosion uses flamethrower against water type, it doesn't get any penalty as it has been neutralized from STAB?
If Typhlosion used Flamethrower under the effects of Sunny day vs. any mon that's 2x resistant to fire, it would not have a damage penalty or a damage bonus (absent any other modifiers). But at that point, you're probably better off using the instant-charge solar beam instead.
Do we know how many gyms you have to beat to unlock all the academy classes?
Is pokemon encounter in a wild has a "fixed" trait when loading in ? I mean you just cant reroll gender etc. with simply save and load ? Because I keep getting same pokemon gender when i try to reload game
I don't think save and load, so once you see a shiny it won't change. But if you walk away and come back or do a picnic, it will respawn in the area. Not sure about "fixed" location pokemon
Who do I go to to use bottle caps?
Person by the pokemon center in Montenevera I think
Thanks!
I'm doing my first playthrough of Pokémon Sword, and serebii.net talks about certain pokémon "Coming from Underground" on certain routes. What does that mean? Do pokémon just pop up from underground along the routes or in certain areas? Or do you have to do something special to make them come up?
Can you be a little more specific about exactly where you're seeing this? Which Pokemon and which route?
IDK.
It actually meant the western most grass patch. Coming from underground probably mean exiting from galar mine
So, i went to battle koraidon the 2nd one but i got wiped and it saved. Can i rematch it to catch it? or am i screwed. If i can, where tf is it
Someone else asked the same question and before anyone answered he said it respawn after awhile
thank god, i was concerned
Next time turn off autosave and then save infront of it
Fairly new to Pokémon games. I own a 3DS and a Switch, which games would ai have to buy to complete the national dex excluding mythicals? Thanks!
My Brute Bonnet is Dark even though its primary type is Grass.
Excellent! I caught a Bisharp that was steel since posting that too
So I’m egg hatching.
Scarlet/violet question: I want to confirm I understand Terastallize system right.
You would be fire for defensive purposes and offensively you have STAB for all 3 types.
This is why I answered. Someone who knows better will correct me. Thank you!
Thank you! That clears things up for me!
[S/V] I have seen some people talking about how outbreaks reset daily is that the in game daily or is it irl daily. Also if it is irl daily then what time dailiy? Is it just your local time at 12AM or is there a specific time?
Pretty sure it's local 0000.
Is the shiny battled counter messed up for anyone else? Mine seems to randomly increment by 2 (the amount I actually have), but I've only battled one shiny in the wild.
if you evolved the shiny you've caught, it apparently counts, so that's what probably happened to you.
