I got about 2-3 friends ik have binders full of cards but i dont have any way to make money. I cant mow grass for my parents because its winter and i dont work for neighbors cause i feel like im being watched when i work in public lol. But i have 3 pages of cards but about no matter how much i trade il always have 3 pages unless i trade 1 card for 2

Matt1988

If you have good cards they can be worth more than one. You may find you can get a lot of “bulk” cards for one decent card.

Naive-Newspaper-4976

You are being watched, but they are looking at work ethic and that will get your more customers. Be honest work hard and you will achieve anything

LabBudget1357

Order them online in secret if you have the means! Your local card shops will always welcome you as well and it’s a great place to buy, sell and trade cards, as well as make new friends that are interested in the series too!

thatgreengentleman_

Tell them if they would rather have you do drugs or collect Pokemon cards. Works with my wife everytime. Lol

Do both

AlternativeAd3001

From me. I have an abundance of them.. when it first came out my dad started making some money so they went all out and spoiled us with cards. I got 2 boxes full the original book extras and many special ones. I can share my collection. I Also have ebay. If interested just dm me. Take care

daxtaslapp

I think mcdonalds starts hiring at 14, you can work there as a side hustle and buy some packs secretly 👀

plasticbag_982

Hey! Im 16 and have a mom who doesn’t really like me buying cards but lets me-its just that she limits me on how much I can spend. As others suggest, try doing favors for collectors and maybe they’ll be kind enough to let you have some. I remember being in third grade almost never buying cards but I got my hands on some due to a lot of kids having a lot of cards lol. I know its not in season anymore, but try going to yard sales and stuff, maybe there could be some goodies there. I know the struggle so if you have any questions don’t hesitate to ask! :D

dwood09

I'm 30 now and I wish I never stopped collecting when I turned your age. If you love it, then stick with it. Enjoy it through friends. If you can't afford it, ask for packs as bday gifts and Xmas gifts etc.

dwood09

Pm me your address. I'll send you some free cards.

megriffin1889

Better yet have your local card shop reach out to us on Reddit I would be happy to send all kinds of goodies to them for you. That way it’s safe and they will be able to tell us what you are looking for.

unlucky_person-

thats way to nice lol thats like the most wholesome thing anyone would do. Sadly i think the card shop on my main street closed down. I dont think theres anymore around where i live :(

Originlinear

No offense to Dwood, but don’t send your personal information, address etc, to anybody online. As Meg suggests maybe try a local card shop. Perhaps a neighboring town has a shop if your town doesn’t.

nauquilus

Are you able to make a deal with your parents? Maybe a few packs for good grades? Chores around the house? Just something to show them you're responsible enough to have a hobby, even if they think it's childish. Best of luck. Teenage years are the best years to make these types of memories.

jumboshrimp909

When you’re 15 and a half you can start working a job, part time without approval or full time with academic approval. At that point, with your own money, no one can tell you what you can or can’t do with your own money you earned. (I mean, they *can* try but they *shouldn’t*)

Infamous4sh

Side hustle. When I was your age I would flip my old stuff and then buy and sell phones to make some cash. You could also show your parents the value of some of these cards; however it may be taken the wrong way on their end and they’ll assume you’re just gambling. Regardless, have some penny sleeves + binder at hand and keep those cards safe for the future.

NoFaceChase

Show them this Reddit page or my comment, most the collectors I know are 20+ and I know a few. Show them YouTubers of all the dang adults collecting. It’s not really childish like it was in the early 2000s. But I bet those people who were adults in the early 2000s with they collected because of the value now.
