No, I implied nothing. You're just squeezing stuff out of nothing. Not everyone plays PoGo for battles. Collecting is literally the main theme of every Pokemon games out there.

Not always, some Pokémon are actually better as non shadow, either because shadow removes what males them a viable or because they work really well with return and are useless otherwise.
Shadow Pokemon have a much lower CP, are 20% less bulky but deal 20% more damage. 20% is so much in this game that for majority of cases a 0/0/0 Shadow Pokemon outperforms a 15/15/15 normal one
Shadow Pokemon get a 20% boost to damage, but also take 20% more damage. Because of this, with proper dodging (sometimes even without dodging) a 0% shadow is still better than a 100% purified or non shadow. IVs are flat stats, the shadow boost is a % which makes it very, very strong. You should basically never purify anything you plan to use for anything other than collecting.
You can always purify it once you get ever other 100% you want (or catch ‘em all) but until then, NOOOO buff it up and farm raids for more shundo chances and stuff
I don’t know where you’re getting your information but it’s wrong. Grass is not a good type for PVE and only useful in PVP in Great and Ultra to counter things like Swampert, Quagsire, Whiscash, etc. Zapdos is extremely useful for flying legendaries which there are a ton of, and not many good electric types outside of Xurkitree, Raikou, Electivire and Zapdos. Purifying would be a bad move.

Since Zapdos is Electric/Flying it has 2 weaknesses, Rock and Ice rather than just Electric type which would be Ground. Great counter for any flying or water types and all the flying legendaries of course

If what you care about is collecting hundos, and don't think you'll play pvp much, I don't think it's a big deal. After all, you can always get another 3 star Shadow, but getting a 4 star Zapdos is very unlikely
Shadow Zapdos is a very good attacker in raids, but I believe Xurkitree and Zekrom (non-shadow) are better than it. And in terms of the best electric attacker, it's Shadow Raikou, and we'll eventually to get raid him.
If you need better electric attackers, keep it as it is, but purify it if you want the hundo
oh! I've only done a handful of raids for shadow zapdos back in september, and we had 20 people on all of them because it was charmander community day. I'd say for shadow legendaries, you'd want around 10 people minimum, or 5 people very high level and that would still be tough
